The bandit with the bow and the bandit with the shield and pick, both go without care, possibly bleeding out.
| Quince Medvyed |
Quince exhales sparply, "Very well, as I said before you stands the Greenwatch Wardens. I am Quince Medvyed of house Medvyed. We have been tasked with dealing with the bandits of this region. You have chosen poor protectors. If your story holds no futher harm will come to you." He looks to Kevros. Keep your crossbow trained on him." He looks back to the prisoner. "For all our sakes stand. Let us move from the trail. Bury your escort, or deal with them as we have been charged."
BloodWolven
|
"House of Medvyed, that is familiar to me, though with my trade I come upon a dealing with most houses. That is fine by me, they were a bit rough around the edges. My deal with them stands to be with you. Find me safely to Oleg's Outpost and the rest of the gold is yours, a bag each. Now with the entrance fee, you may take it off the corpses of those you will dispose of. Their stories enough mark them as bandits. The archer was new, a bit misguided but not a tough like the others, yet." He says rather matter of factly and stands following Quince's suggestion.
"Bury them? Let the beasts of the forest have their fill and you may take what you want of them." He says rather coldly.
| Quince Medvyed |
Quince steps back at the sight of the vines. "No one touch this one. He is infected with plants or . . . something."He picks up a stick and continues investigating at a safer distance. "Siph have you ever seen anything like this."
heal claw dude what's with the vines: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (19) + 1 = 20

"Masota becareful when you tend the wounded this one has some sort of vines moving about his skin."
| Quince Medvyed |
Quince thinks for a moment. Studying the man as he talks. "What is your name. I have done a fair bit of trade as has my father. If you know my family you know well its stubborness on some matters. For me not attracking carrion to our trail and with it further investigation by their allies. He looks to Stalker, "Stalker, are you able to move with someone else . . . however it is you move so fast. Perhaps if our 'merchant' is known to Oleg, our friend. He can be on his way quickly and we can return to our task."

"I am Fraign Steelsman, procurer of fine antiquities and jewel acquisition and delivery. As you would know, many of my associates are of the unclean type." The man says now holding his shield at his side.
| Stalker of Vengence |
"No, no one else may ride on my Gray but me. That poor soul that even got onto him might find themselves stuck on the ethereal plane. Though I could go ask Oleg, as you dig the graves and then start heading South, but I think that might be a waste, I will take Fraign to a safe spot for him and for us, after everyone has a chance to gleam some information from him." Stalker says rather lazily.
| Quince Medvyed |
Quinces eyes go wide he spins quickly to look back at the bandit with the vines along his skin. As if remembering something, Blood tentacles! No one touch the one with the claws its not safe. The vines are contagious." Quince makes sure that no one is near the clawed one even moving unconscious bandits if necessessary so that the vines do not spread.
Was I able to see of the clawed one is still alive. Would he be considered an object of pity or more like an undead monster.
"We really should get off the trail. Before another patrol comes. Kevros be so kind as to keep your crossbow pointed at Fraigan until we can sort this out. Tristan, Angeus, Siph can you help me get the bodies not crawling with abominational evil vampiric vines off the trail."
Quince moves quickly to check the other wounded bandits.
Can I stablize them? At least well enough to move?
heal: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (14) + 1 = 15
| Quince Medvyed |
i may have posted too much today.
BloodWolven

'Object of pity or more like an undead monster'? You are not for sure, likely from the myths that you remember he has his physical body still, so... make your own conclusion.
Well, the archer is dead. The pick dude is very close to being dead, but you stabilize him. The Claws bandit is alive just out cold.
Never, you can never post too much. Plus you are getting a lot of details.
| Angeus |
When Quince and the merchant become acquainted, Angeus watches their exchange for a moment, rapier returned to her hip. Turning she begins to separate the wounded from the dead bandits, giving each a thorough search for booty and weapons, giving the claw bandit a wide berth after Quince's warning.
| Quince Medvyed |
Am I aware of any way to reverse or cure the condition. Do I think its okay to move the pick guy without healing.
| Quince Medvyed |
Do I think killing the clawed bandit would kill the blood tentacles?
| Quince Medvyed |
If Quince is coming off bossy please let it slide. I in real life was able to post alot.
BloodWolven
|
Well the information you have on this 'condition', is based in myth and legend. Though you think if the host is dead, a parasite, even magical would die. Though you may want to check out those who hit him.
You should do a heal check and get the arrows out of him before moving him. Likely a DC 15, for first aid for each arrow...
Angeus is looting...
Hammer - MC Goliath Great Warhammer, studded leather armor, backpack, 7 rations, silver amulet with stag head worth 12 gp, 33 gp, 8 sp, 7 cp, waterskin, 30 gp of equipment, a dagger, and a longsword.
Merchant - MC longsword
Pick - studded leather armor, backpack, 7 rations, amulet with aquamarine worth 18 gp, 29 gp, 5 sp, 17 cp, necklace of bones worth 2 gp, gold earing worth 4 gp, a fine silver ring with a massive cut-jewel sapphire worth ???, casting bones, dice, playing cards, waterskin, 30 gp of equipment, a dagger, heavy wooden shield, and a heavy pick.
Claws - ???
| Quince Medvyed |
Quince continues to study the bandit with the claws. He looks up, "Angeus, Masota you both came close to the bandit with the claws did either of you attack him or get hit by him." Quince steps close to examine them and their weapons.
"Stalker have you ever heard of or seen anything like this? Tristan have you heard tales of the warlord with plants or vines that ran through him?"
"Fraigin, this one with the claws. Was their anything odd about him? Did he seem afflicted in some way? Did he speak of a curse?"
As for the bandit with arrows in him that lives. I do not want to risk pulling them if Masota is willing to lay on hands.
BloodWolven
|
"That one did not speak at all, now that you mention it, he just had that crazed look and followed us around." Fraigin replies.
Well Quince you might want to ask her directly in character.
| Stalker of Vengence |
"Yes I have encountered similar things before, still not for sure what to make of it." Stalker blandly responds.
| Masota Kaedin |
Perception: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (11) + 3 = 14
Masota lowers her bow when the bandit falls to the three arrows planted into his chest. She sighs as she returns her arrow to her quiver and sets her bow down, obviously fairly unimpressed at the excessive display of force against the fleeing bandit. With that, she'll make her way over to the bandit to assist Quince in patching him up.
Masota would definitely use lay on hands on the bandit if it's necessary to keep him alive while the arrows are removed. Don't know what just pulling an arrow out or a failed heal check would do to him or if heal checks are necessary after a lay on hands. But if we do need to use first aid on him, it'd probably be best if Quince assisted Masota. Anyway, here's the rolls if we need them...
Lay on Hands: 1d6 ⇒ 6
Heal: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (3) + 5 = 8
Heal: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (20) + 5 = 25
Heal: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (8) + 5 = 13
To Fairgin:
"You pay bandits for protection from bandits? And you pay them up front, no less. That makes you both a fool and a contributor to the bandit's cause. Perhaps you should even count yourself lucky that we found you before they led you into the forest and robbed you blind. That is, of course, if anything you say is even the slightest bit true."
Sense Motive: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9
And finally...
Upon hearing Quince make mention of the contagious vines, Masota will check herself and her weapon since both came in contact with the claw wielding bandit.
Perception: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (19) + 3 = 22
Knowledge (Religion) about the vines: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (12) + 6 = 18
Ok...done. I think. Sorry about the giant wall of text and the bajillion rolls but I had a lot to cover. =P
BloodWolven
|
It is fine Masota, at least you are catching up! :)
You check yourself, armor and weapon, you don't see any remnants of the vines or veins.
"Incentive woman, coins make the world go round, and unless you are willing to part with a few, you are likely to lose them all. They have been with me for over two weeks since Mivon, why would they take me out and kill me now? Let alone they all took oaths to protect me for my payments in Restov will make the bag of coins look like coppers." While rattling on he pulls out a coin and flip/roll it over his fingers.
| Tristan Morgan |
Sorry I have no knowledges that would help with the affliction.
So your destination is Oleg's then? What do you seek there?
looking at Fairgin
| Angeus |
As the others talk to Fairgin, Angeus organizes the equipment from the bandits; piling the weapons in one pile, the armour in another, collection the valuables into one sack.
She watches him out of the corner of her eye, reading his body language.
Sense Motive 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (3) + 6 = 9
BloodWolven
|
Fairgin responds to Tristan, "my destination is Restov, though Oleg's is the stop on the way. I have a small delivery to make.'
Angeus you think he is a bit shifty but being honest.
| S'ala |
Cripes, I go to one ballgame and there's like 1000 posts...I hate to be repetitious, but a few 9's on SM means I want to check again.
S'ala also has issues trusting one who runs with bandits. He also looks at him suspiciously.
Sense Motive: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (13) + 7 = 20That might tell us something, if there's anything to tell...
S'ala also cannot help the cursed man. "Shall we bring him back to the base camp for the mage to examine? It seems all these bandits have one affliction or another."
To the "trader""If you are simple trader as you say, you will have no objection to us inspecting your wares? Your compliance with this request is telling..."
BloodWolven
|
"If you must, then I will." Fraign pulls out a package from one of his belt pouches. He says a strange word as he does. From the wrapping he unwraps a pouch. With the wrapping put flat on the ground he pours out several finger sized uncut gems. "Oh, and I would never call myself a simple trader."
| Kevros Droverson |
Perception Check after Combat: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (20) + 6 = 26
Freaking A! I just wrote huge post and Paizo lost it for me!
Kevros was about to shoot the shielded pickman then he sees Stalker pin cushion the pickman, "Nice shooting Stalker!"
Kevros goes about collecting his bolts and listens to all of the conversations. He shakes his head to Tristan's comments about being disorganized and trusting, "Tristan, I will agree with the statements of we are still developing team cohesiveness and the bandits were lucky. As for underestimating them, no I am not under estimating them but we have to follow the charter."
After finishing collecting all the bolts that survived, he refreshes his crossbows load out, then looks at Quince, "Sure, I will cover Fraign."
Kevros covers Fraign with the look of, "Go ahead, make my day!"
How many bolts do I reclaim?
BloodWolven
|
LOL, I know how that feels. If I write more than a paragraph I write it in word. Well Kevros I would say you recover half rounded down.
Fraign puts the gems back in his pouch and wraps it up and puts it back into his belt.
Noticing that the crossbow is aimed at his head. "Really you have to aim it at me, well in that case I will just have my shield between you and me." As Fraign talks he slowly, non threatening raises his shield accordingly.
BloodWolven
|
So the group makes a small shallow grave for the archer. Now you have the claw dude, two bandit prisoners and Fraign. What do you do?
| Kevros Droverson |
Kevros replies, "Fraign since you asked for quarter, then you shall be granted quarter. However, no funny business or I will pick off parts sticking out from your shield."
Roger, I gain (2) bolts back.
| Quince Medvyed |
Quince looks up from assisting Masota with healing. "The bandit with the vines should not be touched. It spreads. I am more concerned if he should be considered an abomination and destroyed or if he could or should be helped. I think we need to get clear of the trail. I think Masota is right these bandits were brining their prize home. They may also be expected. Perhaps with some rope we can drag this poor sould with the vines clear of the trail, cover our tracks some and make a decision about what to do next. I think that we should hit the camp. Get what knowledge we can and head back to Oleg's."
| Tristan Morgan |
Sounds fine Quince, I will start covering up the trails and signs of battle.
Tristan sets about trying to make things look natural again.
| Quince Medvyed |
Quince looks at the bandit with the claws. Does the bandit have a Stag amulet like Happ had. "Fraign have you seen this one here with the claws wearing or carrying an amulet with a stag's head."
| Kevros Droverson |
Kevros looks to Narcissa, "Narcissa, can you cure this vine disease that Farign is infected with?"
Narcissa is supposed to be with us. If not, that is fine, see spoiler.
| Quince Medvyed |
I have no cure that I know of. The infected is the unconscious clawed bandit.
| Quince Medvyed |
Qunce frowns somewhat conflicted, "His death would in time likley kill the vines."
| S'ala |
"Until all other means to cure this infected bandit or remove the curse, he will not be slain. None of these others are infected and presumably they camped together. Perhaps, the afflication spreads but with precautions none of us need be infected. He should be taken back to the mage at Oleg's to be examined like the other."
Sotto voce, S'ala explains to the others about his intuition regarding the gem-carrying man. Perhaps he is not a bandit, but he ran with the bandits which makes him suspect. Given the likely value of his merchandise, S'ala suggests he is likely either a thief or a smuggler.
| Kevros Droverson |
Kevros corrects himself, "I mean the claw bandit." Without taking his eyes of Fraign, he responds to S'ala, "You are asking all of us to risk our lives. If he can not be cured and it is contagious, he must be dispatched."
| Quince Medvyed |
Qunce frowns somewhat conflicted, "His death would in time likley kill the vines. And I am not sure we want bring him to Oleg's we don't know what could happen. I wonder S'ala if we held a vampire or werewolf here if you would be so willing to bring him home. We should learn more lets get off the trail speak to our other prisoners find out what we can."
| Quince Medvyed |
Quince looks back and fourth between Kevros and S'ala. "We dont have the information to make a firm decision, S'ala is right. We should learn more before we do something drastic. For all we know it is a punitive tool of maniphlation. He could be the most innocent of the bunch."
| Kevros Droverson |
Kevros responds to Quince without taking his eyes off Fraign, "That may be so Warden Medvyed but that does not mean to endanger us nor the Greenbelt. We need to kill him if no one has the cure or you lot do not have a safe suggestion in handling him.
BloodWolven
|
There is no trail, you have been bushwhacking it. The bandits were in this clearing.
| Quince Medvyed |
I missunderstood. A trail was mentioned awhile back before combat. It must have been "on the bandits trail," verses "a trail through the woods, bandits were travelling." So it is just a clearing and not a trail in the woods. Lol I have refered to the trail in like thirty posts. I guess that should be retconned clearing not trail.
Quince thinks a moment. "We can keep him bound. Have the two other bandit prisoners carry him. Like a deer bound after the hunt to a sturdy branch. Once we pick the location Stalker suggested to keep prisoners he can wait with the prisoners while we strike the camp. Perhaps they will know more of his condition. From there we can arrange a meeting with Alkron who may havs more info."
| Masota Kaedin |
"Quince and S'ala are right, Kevros. Once we have more information on this disease or curse then when can make a decision on what to do with the man. Until then, he'll receive the same treatment as the others."
Masota turns her attention toward the "merchant". "As for you...I believe we'll be letting you accompany your bandit friends a bit longer. Even if your story is true, you reek of greed and your payments to the bandits have made it that much more difficult to disperse them. We can determine the punishment for your ill-advised deeds when we make it back to Oleg's."
BloodWolven
|
"Good luck deary, if that is your stance, you have a long road ahead of you, even if you disperse all the bandits of this region you have the River kingdom to deal with, and they will likely not be too fond of your involvement in their side ventures." He sneers at Masota.
He grabs the rope offered and ties the claw bandit to the end of the branch, then does his best to tie himself to the other end.
| Stalker of Vengence |
Stalker has cut a stout tree branch and brought it to the group. " Thief make yourself useful and tie your veiny henchman up to the end of this, then I will tie you to the other end."
Meanwhile Stalker ties the hammer bandit up, hands to waist, then ties it to the branch. Then ties the other bandit to the other end of the rope, through the center of the branch same as the hammer bandit.
All bandits are tied up, and connected via the branch.
"Feel free to stay here, go North West and see a pond, or head South towards our destination, I will be taking our prisoners to a safe spot. Masota would you mind bringing them to consciousness?"
| Quince Medvyed |
Grrr post got eaten. Wolf she did lay on hands awhile back. Was that not enough to get them conscious.
| Quince Medvyed |
Perception: d20+3
Masota would definitely use lay on hands on the bandit if it's necessary to keep him alive while the arrows are removed. Don't know what just pulling an arrow out or a failed heal check would do to him or if heal checks are necessary after a lay on hands. But if we do need to use first aid on him, it'd probably be best if Quince assisted Masota. Anyway, here's the rolls if we need them...
Lay on Hands: d6
Heal: d20+5
Heal: d20+5
Heal: d20+5
Not sure why the results did not make it but they were: 6 for the lay on hands 8, 25,13 for the heal checks. +2 for the aid another from Quince should be added on.
