Masota scoffs at Quince's remarks. "Our right? No one has the right to end another's life, regardless of what a piece of paper says. Look around you...we're not in Brevoy. The swordlords have no power here and it is not their place to pass sentence on those who do wrong in these lands. Blindly following the orders of others rarely leads to a desirable outcome."

When Stalker returns, Masota straightens up in her saddle and clutches the reins of her horse tightly. "If we're going to deal with this patrol let's make sure to do it quickly and that none escape. We do not wish to face the camp's combined numbers."

" You Masota wear a sword is it decoration or is to be understood you will use against your enemies. Forgive me but I think we both believe in the right to take a life." He pauses a moment. "I think you misunderstand me though. I am in agreement that we should show mercy. Legally that matter is ours to judge. Ambush it is, moving things ahead for sake of game...
It takes about two hours to track down and set up an ambush for the bandits, you can hear them, they are eating it sounds like.
Everyone do a stealth check. Also let me know if you are trying to circle around the bandits.

Stalker has set up an ambush for you, though you need to get to places around the enemies or just from one side.

We will then do the surprise round, some of the bandits may hear you, so they may act as well. If you are doing a ranged attack during the fight you will need to do a perception check DC 10 or not have a target. There is also cover and a 20% chance of failure due to coverage/forest.

Initiative Check:

1d20 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5 Masota
1d20 + 7 ⇒ (4) + 7 = 11 Kevros
1d20 + 5 ⇒ (5) + 5 = 10 Tristan

if siph can see any bandits within 20' of each other she will cast sleep hoping to get more than 1 caught in the spell, DC 15 will save , max 4HD of creatures. Otherwise she will cast mage armor.

Spotting the bandits Siph quickly mouths an incantation and then leans close to her horse, hoping to not draw too much attention from the bandits.

Surprise Action - Supplemental based on dice rolls

He he he, I knew the stealth approach would suck for Kevros. Normally, ambushes are set up prior to the patrol arriving, but that's cool ... :-). Near ambushes require stealth because they are usually set up when contact is made but the enemy has not seen you yet.

Kevros tries to sneak into position but his armor does not want to cooperate nor was stealth a huge requirement in his Brevoy unit. He cringes as small tings and other slight noises issue out from his armor. The good news is, Kevros has excellent range coverage through the foliage and terrain.

Have established who is on horseback. We really did not layout the ambush. Quince would suggest that some who have mounted training stay on or near their horse incase the bandits bolt. He maybe the only one on horse. Also do they have horses?

Surprise round

In prep for the ambush Quince tethers the horses without riders aways back from the trail Ideally obstructed from vision. He positions himself about 40 feet from the trail. He instructs Scram to lay down. Behind some brush. He hides nearby.

Quince, I believe Blood stated all of the patrols are by foot. In addition, I have to get off my horse for the best shot until Kevros learns mounted archery\crossbow. We still have time to role play out tactics and we still can mount our horses. In addition, Kevros did tie up his horse nearby after dismounting.

If Kevros can fire, he will fire on the closest bandit to him that will not produce friendly fire.

LOL, throwing your bow.

The bandits do not have horses. I do need to know who has a horse next to them. The horses need to do a stealth check as well, the sound of the horses will make them no longer flat footed, to the PC that the horse is next to.

You all hear a high pitched whistle, the signal, and release your ranged weapons. Siph you can catch two in a sleep spell.

Will Save 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9.
Will Save 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7. Both stay seated as the other three get up to investigate the horse sounds.

1d20 ⇒ 6 Stealth check for Siph's horse.

So far the bandits are not aware to any one but Kevros and Siph.
Kevros are you going to lay silent or shoot for your Surprise Round?

Angeus how close are you to the bandits, since you are on the other side apparently on your own?

Bow bandit dodges the javelin from Tristan, not taking any damage. The bow bandit is also in the rear, so Quince shoots him too dealing 6 damage.

Angeus attacks the bandit with the claws, the bolt does no apparent damage, who gets hit by a sleeping spell just after.

S'ala finds a target among the patrolling bandits. He silently readies his spear, waits until the man steps between the trees for a good shot, and throws, putting all his strength into the toss. Unfortunately, the extra force caused his throw to go wide of the mark and fall harmelssly into the ground.

Do I still need to roll the miss chance since I took time to get into position and rolled a fairly good perception check?

What this does not make sense please clarify. Thanks Quince on clarifying what you are physically doing.

Due to the vegatation, Tristan you will need to make two move actions to get to the bandits. Do you want to pull another javelin instead?

Kevros, everyone still needs to roll the 20% chance miss. If you do not, I will with my phone roller or any dice I have available.

The bandit in the rear, with the bow gets hit by another bolt, by Kevros, taking even more damage, 6. A spear flies by as well.

When I get home I will make a map for this if we are still in battle.

Surpise!
I forgot the archer bandit heard most of you, he shoots at Siph, though the arrow finds a tree limb.

Round 1

The two awake bandits slap and wake up their allies, then move to flank their scout who is taking most of the flack. The one with the shield takes as much cover as possible and blocking the side where most of the PCs are attacking from.

The two that are awakened, stand up not for sure what happened.

Quince reloads his crossbow.

The archer screams in agony, and drops his weapon. He collects his bow and begins to run for the forest.
