Hit Points
Sometimes the dice aren’t in your favor when you gain a level and the hit points you roll are especially low. Unlike retraining other character abilities, retraining hit points doesn’t involve replacing an existing ability with a new one, it just increases your maximum hit points.

Retraining hit points takes 3 days and requires you to spend time at a martial academy, monk monastery, or with some kind of master of combat who is at least one level higher than you. At the end of the training period, increase your hit points by 1. You can retrain hit points only if your maximum hit point total is less than the maximum possible hit point total for your character.

I'm assuming Svetka would count as a master of combat and is a higher level than us?

It's not that bad of a price too, at 10 x Level x Days, that comes to about 180 gp per hit point. Not bad.

Another trip...

I leave for New York City around noon tomorrow and from there will leave for 11 days in China on Wednesday. I will be back late on Saturday April 7 and begin to catch up on April 8th. And yes I know I just got back from a trip.

I will have an iPad with me (better than posting from a phone) and should have internet most of the time but there are three days that are remote so I am almost sure I will not have internet all the time. I will do my best to post some but please both me instead of waiting for me. This is my last trip longer than a long weekend I have planned for the entire year.

Kingmaker video game beta out today. Been messing around with the character creation. I can make Larisa, Seres, and Zeke pretty well. Veronica is a bit tougher. Connor, not so much ... no cavaliers, no hunters and no mounted combat.

Game looks pretty cool, so far.

I know I owe a post here. Will likely do a game post here and then respond to Larisa's role playing in the other thread.

Yeah, I'm hoping that as I have a little experience with Unity I can crack it open and mod it to get more stuff in. But, they already said on their forums that it's a super-heavily modded version of Unity, so they might not release enough source for people to do their own add-ons like skinwalkers and more archetypes.

Been posting bugs as fast as I find 'em, it's pretty polished for a beta. The writing is super uneven, though - I can tell easily what was written by Chris Avellone and what was written by Other People What Have No Business Writing.

I only shelled out for the game, waiting eagerly for the game to drop later this year if everything keeps going as it does. I'm really looking forward to it, though I do hope they given enough space for the modding community.

Stoked to get into more of Chris Avellone's work, by far one of my favorite RPG writers. I just hope the game manages to avoid the 'wait, that's the good option' effect alot of other rpg's fall into.

Some of the dialogs allow you to speak up about your alignment predilections, and you can choose to have them labeled or not, depending on the experience you want. Others are more generic.

The writing quality tends to come through more in the NPCs you interact with. I am pretty sure that I can peg who Chris wrote (and I was planning to ask him).

Yes, but the current beta is just the first module. The alpha included the first 3 books.

There's some restructuring of the story to make it tighter that kinda pulls many of the encounters together into a more coherent whole, but they did a little (ham-fisted, in my opinion) railroading so that you can't get ahead of yourself and get into book 2 territory until you deal with the Stag Lord.

There is not a run/walk toggle, but your group inventory affects your encumbrance. If you are carrying too much gear in your group bag, your entire group will slow to walking speed. Same if you are suffering from fatigue or exhaustion (which can happen if you travel a lot without resting).

Hmm, interesting. Shared inventory is empty and it's saying I'm carrying 600lbs. That might be my problem.

Your shared inventory weight will include anything that your team is wearing or carrying. So, if a bunch of your characters are in half-plate or whatnot, that counts a bunch.

Still, 600 lbs. (especially if you don't have a full party) is likely more than you have equipped.

Because someone mentioned it in the main thread I thought to go over what we spent on the troll hunt. I withdrew 2,000 GP from the treasury, we only spent 17 GP on 30 Incendiary arrows and 2 tinder-twigs. That leaves the 1,983 GP in the pot. I'm just going to divvy that up between the party which comes to 396 GP 6 SP.

If the Hideous Laughter sticks then that'll take the two headed troll out for a round so that you can tap a troll with the torch while Ezekial moves to a safe spot.

Just so everyone remembers, simply doing some fire damage isn't enough to kill these creatures. It just makes them susceptible to dying for one round. If, say, a trollhound is at -2, and I do 1 point of fire damage, it will stop regenerating for one round, but after that it will resume regeneration and get back up.

Cool, it's super thematic and I get the feeling the breacher class feature will be useful. Have you looked at the prestigious spellcaster feat to regain that level of spell casting? If you retrain a feat to pick up the favored prestige class prerequisite you could get it with your 7th level feat (Maybe arcane strike? We're getting to the point were it's usefulness has started to drop off).

Nice! Is this something you put together on your own? Never been to Barcelona or the Italian west coast. Both are on my to do list. I have only been to Italy once and that was on business with very little free time. Was in Turin. Its known as the Detroit of Italy. lol.

My wife and I have been traveling with a company called Gate 1. Its a little structured for some people but we like it.

We looked into Gate 1 snd honestly it looked fantastic if we didnt have a 5 year old. Just the two of us and I think we wouldve booked with them. The little one is a game changer. Its still fun and we saw the important parts of Barcelona today, but we waved off on some things because of her desires/needs.

We bought a Disney cruise out of if Barcelons for 7 days, but built on 3 days prior in Barcelona and 3 days after in Paris.

Yup, if not for the Green Man intervention we would've been in a really bad place, was almost looking like a TPK a for a few turns there.

Anyway, I don't have Selective Channel, so if I heal the party in combat, it will also heal enemies. And as I noted in the gameplay thread, even if I healed maximum (18 on 3d6) with my channeling, the trolls' damage output was enough to kill us. The best shot was just to try to do enough damage to put all the trolls down long enough for us to use fire to coup de grace them. Unfortunately my damage output is also low, so it was a bad spot to be in.

Next level at least I finally get Precise Shot, so that's something...
