Reloaded, carried on... entire party wiped by one primal dire boar, because apparently level 2 characters are supposed to fight monsters with +10 to attack and over 100 hit points.

I went and got Octavia near immediately and stuck her on camp camoflauge. I've been ambushed once since and I rest every time I get fatigued on the open road. In dungeons, I look for the safe places.

In beta when I fought the Technic League my entire party was blinded and there weren't enough cures available to fix it, so no Octavia for me.

I am tempted to try this game. Is it related to Pathfinder On Line? I bought into the kickstarter/playtest for that and it never got stable on a Mac so I figure I threw away about 100.00.
Veronica Ferra
No relation to PFO, which was Ryan Dancey's attempt to sucker people into paying his mortgage for a few years. This game is actually released and actually works (more or less, the usual bugs and balance issues).

Nice gameplay post Veronica. You inspire me to try to post better.
I am struggling to get caught up in a number of areas right now and for the first time Jet Lag has ahold of me hard. Its not hard to keep up with all my games but its damn hard to catch up.

If you take the Combat Stamina feat, you can waive the 13 Int prerequisite. (See Combat Expertise on that page.)
Never seen that before. It's from unchained?
GM wehrpig, thoughts? If not, any options for retraining Int/Wis yet again?

Moving over from IC.
If the invisible creature wasn't summoned, the magic circle wouldn't have forced it back before. But it could be some kind of cultic long-duration summon, given the storyline with the Elder Mythos Cults. I don't think we can rely on waiting out the duration of the summon. It could be a planar ally spell - those stick around until they've done their task, and with the Mythos Cults that could be something like "terrorize the River Kingdoms until a hundred people fall to madness" or something lengthy like that.
Basically we best kill it, I think we're just lucky that the protection from evil gives us a chance to make it back up a little. So far I haven't attacked it so I haven't broken my magic circle, and I'm going to keep doing buffs and heals as long as I can.
Larisa Doe
I agree killing it is the best course of action, though if it's here via planar ally then it's a called creature and shouldn't be affected by that portion of the spell. This could be a simple case of GM fiat to give us a fighting chance, I do it at my table to reward my players sometimes or when it would be cool.
Veronica Ferra
Something like planar ally. Sorry I was not specifically clear. I expect the Mythos Cults to specialize in summons that bring various creatures from the mysteeeeeerious beyond to our world to wreak havoc.

Was thinking GM fiat too.
On another note, what is this creature that seems to have perma improved invisibility? It would be a tough encounter if we could see it.
Larisa Doe
I've noticed that the kingdom management part of the game has been listed as inactive, are we retiring it?

Its a busy time and I keep trying to get to my games. Sorry for my slow postings. I have been wanting and looking forward to beginning to develop our spy network. Perhaps over the weekend I'll have some time to post about that.

Moving this to discussion.
Grab does not mean you auto grapple. It means you have a free chance to try to grapple.
"If a Creature with this special attack hits with the indicated attack (usually a claw or bite attack), it deals normal Damage and attempts to start a grapple as a Free Action without provoking an attack of opportunity. "
And I never said I was entering the water either. Because the game is moving slowly I did not even recall that we had to cross the water. Of course someone about to enter water would be looking for threats. We are all on guard and this thing is large which means its 4 to 8 times bigger that Ezekial. I think its reasonable to allow a perception check and unless the water is murky (which I do not recall) seeing the creature might be automatic.
wehrpig
Fine, make your perception check. I already addressed the grapple issue.
The reason the game is moving slowly is a lack of posting. Active participation is required to make these games work. I was forced to interpret your post because it would have been another two weeks if I had waited for someone to post the obvious move to cross the river.

BTW I'm using hold on the boar rather than the giant lobster(?) because I can't remember if lobsters are considered vermin, which are not classed as animals and immune to mind-affecting magic anyway.

Thanks. Ezekial is highly trained in perception. I think its unreasonable to think he would not have any chance to notice a large enemy lurking in the water right in front of him.

DM is right. We control the pace of the game. I am as guilty as the rest. If he hands waves some stuff to move it along, it's probably because we arent keeping up our part.

I can usually post daily and am happy to redouble my efforts to do so. My statement was explaining why I was not as aware of my surroundings as Ezekial would have been and not a complaint.
Larisa Doe
So sorry about poor posting, will make an effort to post later tonight.

Just want take a moment to apologize to everyone for the lack of participation on my part. I'm currently in my final year of nursing training and I'm currently on clinical placement with another three weeks to go in medical ward so it's pretty full on. Plus in May I've another three week placement in ED which will also consume my time.
I do want to keep playing but I understand if I'm slowing things down. I'd be happy to open to botting if that'll speed things up?

Anniversary Kingmaker hard cover announced. Interestingly, paizo is producing a 5E compatible version.

But not 1e, so useless to us.

2 of my games (this one included) on Roll 20 aren't opening for me. Anyone else having issues?
It just gets hung up on the 'opening planar transport" or other such nonsensical term when it's loading.

FYI - I'll be traveling in Scotland from July 4 though the 17th. I will have internet much of the time but not every day. So please bot me if I am holding up anything.

Just giving everyone warning I'm going on my Transition to Practise 9 week Clinical Placement in a couple of days which is why I've slowed down so much lately. I have a couple days a week to myself so I'll try to make an effort to post then.

I wanted to give an update that I'll be at Dragon Con this weekend and will not be able to post much if at all. And this weekend starts Wednesday for me. :) I'll be back and on a regular schedule Tuesday.

I just got back after a terrible convention experience where I was stuck out of town longer than planned due to an emergency. I'll try to catch up.

I went to PAX West in Seattle. Had a good time, myself, but mostly because we were friends, not because of the con!

I must admit I am thinking second thoughts about Dragon Con. I am an Eternal so my badge is now free. But just hotel is 300.00 a night plus parking! We split the room but still I dropped 400.00 easy on hotel and parking. Plus gas and food and, etc. There are cheaper cons for gaming. I may try to attend a few local cons this year and slip Dragon Con with its 85000 attendees.

Air BnB the same price? We got a fully stocked place for 5 dudes and paid a touch less than that in Seattle. Biggest expense for me honestly since I flew out there on a reward flight.
