@DMT burning arc came out in a book released after the APG, which is why I believe it is not listed under the Fire arcane school spell list, would you allow me to be able to put it in my arcane school spell slot?
That reminds me, DMT you never answered my question.

From "Magic Item Descriptions":
Caster Level (CL): The next item in a notational entry gives the caster level of the item, indicating its relative power. The caster level determines the item's saving throw bonus, as well as range or other level-dependent aspects of the powers of the item (if variable). It also determines the level that must be contended with should the item come under the effect of a dispel magic spell or similar situation.
For potions, scrolls, and wands, the creator can set the caster level of an item at any number high enough to cast the stored spell but not higher than her own caster level. For other magic items, the caster level is determined by the item itself.
The default caster level for an item is typically listed at the top of the item description. For instance, Amulet of Natural Armor:
Amulet of Natural Armor
Aura faint transmutation; CL 5th

@DM Tuyena: What is the estimated order and delivery time for goods to the trading post? Also, since I know there are remnants catapults or ballistas around the fort, would there be any chance that enough pieces between them that Durielle could use mending to repair at least one to operational status?
@Other players: Since we seem to be having a bit of downtime while Gonzo recovers and makes things, it seems addressing some things around the fort may be a good idea. Along with the soldier contingent, maybe there are ways for us to improve the fort's defenses? Maybe get something started to add a barracks or larger area for accommodations attached to one of the fort walls on the outside that can be integrated into the fortification. I think the interior map didn't have a lot of room to be honest, and most of the party is probably sleeping with their bedrolls in the dining area.
I don't know if we have to do something specific that would entice NPCs to begin to wander in and maybe choose to settle in area, but it seems like trying to attract some more "services" to the area would be a good idea. Assuming that's even possible of course.

If we're going to have a few days of downtime, Donovan can also cast make whole on anything that's too large or too badly damaged for mending.
A couple of other problems we have to deal with, though:
* Nobody in the party is a siege engineer (as far as I know), and thus nobody knows how to repair, maintain, or operate the siege engines.
* There's only so much space inside of Oleg's palisade. If we want to expand operations, we would probably need a new outer palisade, and that is really up to Oleg. I dunno how Oleg feels about converting his frontier fort into a frontier town.
* I think that the #1 way to attract NPCs to settle to the area is to fix the Stag Lord's little red wagon.

DM Tuyena |

It varies Durielle, if Oleg can get it from Brevoy he can get it in like two weeks, faster if he puts in a large order.
But if he needs to send in an order to Brevoy and they need to send off for it themselves too, such as for an adamantine weapon, it could take a few months.
As for the ballasts, they could be fixed for about 200g a piece or with sufficient use of make whole.

Other quick note on the upgrade side of things: I can use the spell masterwork transformation during a downtime day to make one of your items into a masterwork item. Since it is instantaneous, it can't be dispelled. It has a material component cost of the difference in price. You can choose whether the appearance changes. Basically it's as if the item was always masterwork.
If you're holding out for new gear made of a special material like adamantine or mithral, this is not really useful to you, but if you have something like mundane thieves' tools or a mundane backpack and you just want it to be masterwork, this is probably doable without having to order an all-new one through Oleg -- just purchase some material components from him (likely bits of steel and leather). It also saves you the base purchase price (say, if you want to replace your 35 gp bastard sword with a 335 gp masterwork one, you don't wind up paying the 35 gp again).

Sugua Bran't |

Like in this case Sugua wants a Bow it costs 800 gold. Whether he gets it masterwordk or not masterwork doesnt change the time and then after that it s saving to get his weapon +1 or a nice set of armor.

An important question for DM Tuyena:
Can we take 10 on Spellcraft checks for magic item creation?
Sean K Reynolds says yes, but not all DMs agree with that, and I wanted your decision ahead of time.
Thanks.

Khargol Uzgurn |

Whew, that was a lot of reading to do to get caught up both in the discussion and here. My situation hasn't really changed, per say...I'm still in the middle of something really sucky, it's just that after you've been in something really sucky for a few days it becomes less burdensome to deal with. It's amazing how resilient we human beings are, isn't it?
Anyway...I'm assuming from the post made on the previous page that we all have somewhere in the neighborhood of 993 gold to fool around with, is that correct?
Tuyena, you mentioned earlier something like adamantine taking a long time to get in. Does that apply special materials that are probably not quite so uncommon, such as cold iron?
Also, I agree. Once we have finished cleansing the Stolen Lands sufficiently well enough to start drawing people into a kingdom, I think we're not going to want to use Oleg's for a base of operations. It's too far to one side of the area. If ol' Staggy is going to be even moderately more centrally located, and since he's gotta be given the boot anyway, that will probably be a better candidate for a base. Assuming, of course, that it's adequately fortified. I assume it will be.

Reposting a couple of questions that were missed:
1) Will you allow class retraining? As long as the same role is fulfilled. More specifically retraining into an Arcanist keeping the same spellbook.
2) Will you allow Burning Arc to be placed in the bonus spell slot for the Fire Arcane School?
I also am curious of your answer for taking 10 on spellcraft checks.

DM Tuyena |

Taking 10 on Spellcraft is fine as long as it's done out of combat.
Alchemical Silver and Cold Iron are much more common and probably available in Brevoy unless you wanted something particularly exotic, like a cold iron Katana for example.
Adamantine in particular would be one of the hardest to get a hold of, as only two locations in Golarion can make it; Riddleport and Torch.

The really funny part about Torch being one of two places where you can buy adamantine items is that the town has a 2,400 gp purchase limit based on its size.

Donovan of Restov |

I'm going to be out of town 'til Tuesday, so my updates may be spotty.

Alphonse Calderon |

clerification clousuk, since your character came in a bit later im not sure if your character actually has the total of that amount of gold, as some of that would have been gained before you joined us, i dont remember if our GM gave you gigher starting gold

Khargol Uzgurn |

What about gear that we have that we would want to sell? Can we go ahead and assume we get 1/2 value for that and use that amount to help with purchases or do we need to wait since technically anything ordered would take time to get there?

Durielle Omenstar |

Let's try to get some momentum going fellas, we're stagnating.
Right now, I think this mostly because a lot of us have asked GM questions that could influence our characters' actions. If you could answer Gonzo, Khargol's, and my own questions, we should be able to get things moving again. :-)
EDIT: I just realized I never really asked the question I have been wondering, which is basically what of all the items we have been asking for or mentioning in our posts does Oleg have on hand v. what is being ordered?

DM Tuyena |

Let's see here, I thought I already cleared Gonzo for class retraining, but if I didn't then yes you may.
As to Khargol I believe your current money count is dependent on the fact you can go ahead and sell it at half.
As to what Oleg is currently in Stock on, it's mostly hunting supplies as he said. Bear traps, furs, rations, general adventuring type if gear such as hammers, pitons, whetstones, lanterns, etc. In addition to some standard weaponry such as longbows, longspears, longswords and short Swords and Daggers.
-Posted with Wayfinder

DM Tuyena |

Basically, if you need a simple weapon or a Longbow, short sword or longsword, he has it.
If you need some light armor, he has it.
If you need materials for simple scrolls, he probably has it.
If you need anything medium armor, more uncommon martial weapons, or anything Masterwork, prepare to wait.

Sugua, plox do the thing, i really wanna see how you do it, but GM is right we need to move, you sir have till tomoro evening cuz its sunday then ill post some more. plox dont make me do it :P

Khargol Uzgurn |

So here's what Khargol wants; please let me know what's available and what isn't. I'm on the assumption that everything will be found except the breastplate, since you specifically called out medium armor as a "wait for" item:
Cold iron longsword
Alchemical silver longsword
Darkwood Composite Longbow (+2 Str)
Cold iron arrows x 50
Silver arrows x 50
Masterwork breastplate
Buckler

Why an alchemical silver longsword? Planning to replace it later?

Alphonse Calderon |

oh right, can ghonzo make me a pair of scrolls of enalrge person, that would be cool, i can at least buff from time to time if that coem up then
also ghonzo, i dont know if im just blind but would it be possible for you to list all the spells in your spell book so i can use you as a scroll manufacturer from time to time?

Khargol Uzgurn |

An alchemical silver longsword because I've come to the conclusion that Khargol hasn't been really, truly prepared in the manner he needs to be. The cold iron sword was an easy choice to make considering how many enemies it breaks through the DR of, but I think the usefulness of an alchemical silver weapon is understated.
It is my intention to make Khargol into something of a "swiss army knife" for the party; after we are done with the first book, I'm going to re-make him into a range-focused inquisitor but, for now, I'm going to take advantage of his higher strength to get him as prepared as possible for whatever situation they might come across.
Speaking of preparedness..Tuyena, would Oleg possibly have any bags of caltrops? I'd like to pick up, say...three of them, if they're available.

Clousuk Sootscale |

I figure the cold iron pointy sword will take a while to show up - I'm cool with that.
Since it was brought up before, as far as treasure goes, Clousuk just has his split from the chest and selling that group of mites' stuff, right? Not quite as much as everyone else, though that's offset by his starting wealth and (presumably) the idol he got.

Vladimir Ducheski |

Not a lot that Vladimir wants...really more luxury than needed items
Darkwood Buckler - 203 gp
Masterwork Composite Longbow (+1 STR) - 500 gp
Cold Iron Dueling Sword - 40 gp
I expect that I will be waiting for all of the items in question.

Vladimir Ducheski |

Cool. Then I guess I'll just be waiting on the other two items.

Sugua Bran't |

So he is basically doing what Sugua was saying do? be prepared for whatever might come.

Durielle Omenstar |

@Donovan: I would like to take you up on your offer to Masterwork Transform. I would like to change Durielle's backpack to a mwk backpack (50g-5g=45g) and her studded leather to a mwk studded leather (175g-25g=150g). Total cost 195g.
