I've edited my post. I had all my PbPs open and was answering them in turn. Just got to his after he'd put his post in.
I'm guessing Sugua made some kind of save. That or he wasn't in the way of the blast. Either way, everyone who got hit with that is down.
Basically the whole clearing got blasted, so if you were there, you took it.
As for the roll20 there isn't much to show right this second but I think the party is still displayed in the temple area.

I has Darkvision
Also that happened. Even if he was hit it just would hurt.. good thing cleric channels are a thing.

Amen to that. Seems like every time we go somewhere new we end up full-tilt into a brick wall. With a trapdoor into a snake pit in front of it.

I feel like I'm the Sugua in this encounter though, lol. She kept trying to get some planning on the table, and no one ever responded. Not sure we could have avoided this, but well, maybe a bit more discussion next time, guys! :-P
Male Half Orc Slayer 4 | HP 40/40 | AC 17 T 11 FF 16 | Fort +9 Ref +7 Will +4 | CMD 19 | Init +1 | Perception +8
WE are Sugua.
Yeah thats what he was trying to do, he assumed they would either do it or not. This was not avoidable if it hit everyone.

Personally, I don't think progressing any further with this temple is a good idea, saving the heals or not. Given what's happened, I would say a tactical retreat without anyone dead is the order of the day. Either camp in a fully explored hex or return to Oleg's if we can before dark. Then we can "explore" the rest of this hex while leaving the temple alone for now. We should come back after we get another level...maybe two.
Male Half-Orc Inquisitor 4; Init. +4; HP 29/31; AC 18 T 11 FF 17; F+6/R+2/W+7; Perc +11
If we can manage to drag everyone out I would tend to agree.
Male Half Orc Slayer 4 | HP 40/40 | AC 17 T 11 FF 16 | Fort +9 Ref +7 Will +4 | CMD 19 | Init +1 | Perception +8
Thats not possible. Fully exploring a hex means getting rid of all the dangers in said hex. Meaning we cannot call this hex explored until we do. It will depend on What Sugua can see really.

Well, I'm certainly not going to insist we clear this one out for now!
@DM Tuyena:
Based on your description of the effect, I'm guessing that was an unholy blight. If it was, wouldn't those who took damage only take half of what was rolled as they are all neutral and not good?
It was not unholy blight but it is similar.

Alright, I can understand that this AP is difficult. Deadly even. But this is ridiculous. 5/6 combats I have been reduced to less than 0 and 3 times by criticals. One was a damn Kobold. No character, no matter how determined, can handle that kind of abuse. I officially resign Angor and myself. God himself does not want me to play this game apparently.

When I get off work I will be making a few minor changes to Gonzo's character sheet. I will be replacing Combat Casting with Spell Focus (evocation) and changing his elemental pupil to fire type (his personality fits the student of the flame better)
@GM Also I was wondering if you would allow him proficiency with a sword cane? I think it really fits his character but wizards already get so few feats...

Regarding the adventurers current "plan," are we not retreating to recover wounded and spells? Unless this is already assumed, it sure looks like we're being asked where are we going from the hex containing the temple, and I think more exploration at the current resource level and HP is unwise, no?

Agreed. We just got punk'd. If we go into another big fight while a bunch of people are still injured and we've blown through a chunk of our healing magic, we'll get punk'd harder.

Closer and closer to unanimous, it is.
Also, are we operating under the assumption that Angor survived that fight but decided he'd had enough and was heading back to less dangerous territory?
I'm uncertain, we'll go with he heads off in search of greener pastures.

i think the half orc frustration of constantly being dropped actually works out quite well for flavor so theres that. also the new skald is at least a tad silly, the one in the recruitment thread, but the jumping strait for 18 str seems like he is giving up con for no good reason
Male Half-Orc Inquisitor 4; Init. +4; HP 29/31; AC 18 T 11 FF 17; F+6/R+2/W+7; Perc +11
Agreed regarding the flavor thing. I think it would be good to keep one less death off the party's conscience, too; having to watch people constantly die around you is eventually going to wear you down.

You mean the thing Sugua saw all the time? And you wonder why he is the way he is, I almost want it to happen so that certain characters start to change a bit. But that would be mean. Anyway we aren't retarded, and these encounters are pretty much once a day so yes we would most likely have traveled rested and then explored after rest/the net day.

Ofcourse he is, He very much is a dick. But unlike other dicks he isnt trying to hide that fact nor is he forcing anyone to do anything. Being a dick doesnt make them less right on cases it's just how you take it. Overall he thinks some of you are basically the same way you just try and hide it because currently it hasnt gone well enough for it to be on the other foot as of yet. Like with those bandits from the beginning.

No matter who you are death constantly around you that you could have stopped but did not have the power to will change you. In many ways it will be both good and bad. In Sugua's case he became much stronger but jaded and abrasive. Ultimately he has no higher goals save a few. In another they might become a better strategist or gain greater help from outside forces, but rarely can someone ignore constant death and failure and remain unchanged.

I hope your post is meant to be an in character comment about Sugua not being observant...
DM Tuyena posted right before me about the party seeing a kobold.
Male Half Orc Slayer 4 | HP 40/40 | AC 17 T 11 FF 16 | Fort +9 Ref +7 Will +4 | CMD 19 | Init +1 | Perception +8
Nope it was because The GM posted before I saw your post and then edited it as I saw it Ah well, Sugua probably didnt care.
If anybody is open to it. I could make gonzo a transmuter and we could recruit another blaster. I could craft items for the team as well as buff us up before and during combat.
The party doesn't need that many casters, you lost a secondary front liner, without that the party gets more vulnerable.
As a transmuter id focus more on physical combat. Bumping up my strength via bulls strength and id get the arcane strike feat
Edit: i could dip into fighter or magus and then prestrige into eldritch knight perhaps.

If it means anything, DM Tuyena, Mahorfeus is a good roleplayer. I am pretty familiar with him. He's currently GMing another game I'm in which I play.
Male Half-Orc Inquisitor 4; Init. +4; HP 29/31; AC 18 T 11 FF 17; F+6/R+2/W+7; Perc +11
I have always, always wanted to play a kobold in a game...just haven't ever had the opportunity. Heck, I have a kobold alias already created and waiting for the right game. I just wish they didn't get hammered so hard with the character creation, 'cause man, those attribute penalties bite.
Let me know whether you would rather recruit another skald/bard or have Gonzo as a transmuter, I'd like to know so I can either begin working on making him that or go ahead and make my pre-disclosed alterations to his sheet. (Also may change his school to the Fire elemental school)
