Kalsgrim acknowledges Corso's warning with a nod. He's been lectured by Garick and Ox in a roundabout way about being naive many times before, and under his breath curses to himself, swearing yet again to be more wary when it is called for.

"A hunter, a paladin, and a skeptic huh?" Jhod pulls himself together a bit. "My dreams showed me three things. The path leading here, which has ended. A temple in the forest made of stone and water, and a guardian...some kind of bear, that's not quite a bear. It appeared to be a twisted, cursed beast bringing darkness to the holy site. I think my part is in finding those who would cleanse it and allow true worshipers to fill the shrine with prayers once again." He clasps his hands and bows forward. "Please, hear me and even if it's not in the name of our god, free that tormented creature so I may prove myself by restoring this temple!"

M Human Cavalier /1st

Hearing his brothers enthusiasm and his lords easy aproval he sees where he lines in all of this. I would be more than happy to do my part in this, priest of deadeye. While yes we are to take banditry and put it under our heel, I dare say if more of the had a temple to be tuaght better, the greenbelt very well wouldv'e already had this bandit mess sorted out. If we kill a bear demon, to make that possible I'm all for it.

There's also another item of interest in the fort. Pasted beside the door of the stable is a piece of parchment.

Garick frowns at Corso for a moment It would be my honor to help in restoring a temple of Erastil here in the greenbelt. Perhaps before we head back out you will give us a prayer and blessing our search? I would love to hear any tales of your journeys while we are here as well. I do have a bit of work to do before I may relax however. I will leave you in Lord Lodovka's company for now. Garick marches off after pleasantries are exchanged and finished. He will attempt to find out if with all these extra folks about they need to set up a camp for at least some of them. He volunteers to ruff it as he is the most accustomed to it. IF any camp is needed he will set it up. He also takes care of Shade and any of the other mounts that have yet to be tended before spending the afternoon trading stories with Father Jhod, and hopefully enjoying some cool ale or cider(not to much a few mugs over the afternoon). Will happily banter back and forth with any npcs (or players for that matter, but I don't want to bog down the game if everyone else is more interested in pressing on.

As the others begin speaking to the new arrival, Servayn quietly gets up and wanders over to check the written message, and then checks Clip-Clop to see how close they are to fulfilling the requirements for silver stag amulets.

He then informs Kesten about the 'will o wisp' creature, and warns him that the creature is loose, and seems to prefer lone individuals to attack from under cover of invisibility at night, so that he may wish to make sure that his men remain within Oleg's walls at night and do not separate. He makes sure to detail how the wisp is fond of luring people with the sound of a voice crying for help, and that it was a figure of great evil that appeared immune to the weapons of the group, and capable of striking with a force like lightning.

He does not specifically go on to mention that the party is more or less responsible for the creature wandering loose at the present time... :)

Male Human Cleric 1 (Unholy Barrister)

Finally speaking again, Lukasz says, "I am Lukasz Orlovsky and you have found a fine group to aid you in your endeavor. However, I have to warn you that the Greenbelt offers many challenges, some we have faced and won, others we have had to flee. However, as Corso has pretty much admitted, the Swordlords look on our every action and many people we thought enemies have resulted in allies. Nothing is to say that the opposite can't happen as well. So if you can please tell us more about yourself. I know that it might be a sensitive topic, but what was it that caused you to fall from Erastil's favor?"

"You're right young man. It is indeed a sensitive topic. I can tell that I'll need to share it with you though." says Jhod quietly. "I was once leader of a small village not far from Restov. It was a simple community and Erastil smiled upon us. Until we began having reports of wolf attacks. Dozens of animals where killed, and even several people. The town was terrified and looked toward me to help. I did my best to find the creature responsible and finally concluded that a new man in town suffered from lycanthropy. So sure was I that this man was responsible I led a mob and we hung him. Only the next day a group of adventures slew a worg." He let's out a long sigh. "The man I had killed was innocent and that night a visitor came to my home. Dressed in leather and with a bow on his back I knew who had come for me. He said I was a disgrace and had failed my flock. With a slap he took my vision and said I had lost my sight long ago. After that I stumbled around blind making my way to the city as a beggar."

Tuck has been helping Svetlana resupply the companies rations and waterskins. "Padre, it sounds like you really angered The Hunstman. I would count yourself lucky he even gave you a chance to redeem yourself." The ex-bandit doesn't seem to impressed by the near groveling of the priest.

"When I was with Kressle we never came across a temple like you described. Of course she mainly kept her men in the northern parts of the forest."

A walking god touched him. Hubris is indeed in every man's heart. To left yourself believe that your self-importance is great enough that the gods would go on a walkabout on Golarion to let you know how they feel about you actions!?! This man is a fool! Or I am for believing a single word he says!

Hiding his smile and turning towards Jhod, Corso brings hints of amazement into his voice as he says: "You are indeed blessed with the favor of Ol' Deadeye, Cleric Kavken, and we are also truly blessed to have our path cross yours and thus be in Erastils thoughts. Let us hope we do find this sacred key to your redemption on our way south."

A little later, he will leave the room to have a chat with Oleg: "Good to see you master Oleg! We have met with Vekkel Benzen just recently. He was saying the priest's arrival was giving you headaches. How so? He got us worried, but everything seems fine."

Mastermind:

Do I know this Noleski Surtova? How is he related to me and my dear brother?

As Garick said, I too am ready to press on. I would say west, then southwest.

King Noleski Surtova is the current regent of the Dragon Scale throne. You are distant cousins on his mothers side I believe?

The rest of the day passes sharing the latest adventures with the friends at the fort. Kesten is particularly interested in news of the wisp and promises to keep an eye out.

Later after supper when Corso speaks with him Oleg replies, "Only in that he won't shut up about his quest. He's begged every person here, including my wife, to set out and find this temple so he can be redeemed."

That night a spring thunderstorm passes over the fort. Echos of thunder roll across the plains. In the morning a soft rain persists , just enough to keep everything wet. Svetlana serves bowls of warm oatmeal with brown sugar and maple syrup in the guest house. "My husband and I have finally begun to make money again. I expect that the merchants will be visiting every day before too long."

Kesten and his company are already up and about. The twins stand on the walls wearing cloaks that shed water. Mumbles of prayer can be heard from a canvas lean-to between the guest house and the wall.

Garick will lead the party out today if he will roll.

Male Human Cleric 1 (Unholy Barrister)

"Well, I hope Oleg is ready and comfortable. I know that he had mentioned not minding the lack of business and I hope he doesn't mind the extra attention that fate seems to have decided to bring in our footsteps. Lukasz says in response to Svetlana's words as he rises to brush down his horse and give it food before it got too dark to see by.

Oops, hate it reality shifts and heroes from other parts of the world decide to show their face...fixed now :P

"Oh he might grumble a bit here and there, but I think being able to make money in a place like this really means a lot to him." She says while handing out the breakfast. "He used to complain that in the city it was too easy to make money. Too many people who didn't know how to tighten their purse strings. Sometimes I miss the merchant's balls we would be invited to, but my dear Oleg was miserable at them."

Well, perhaps when we make this region safer and some more people come in, we can hold festivals and dances. Perhaps not as decedant as the balls you had before, but something more in line with the folks down here, something Oleg would be more comfortable with.

Before we leave for the next day's exploration, Kal will pull Garick over with the map and talk to Oleg. He will quickly tell him about the menace of the spider and the will-o-wisp, and encourage him to let anyone know passing through about the danger.

We have not given up on dealing with it, Kal will add with a flush in his cheeks. We will certainly revise it and deal with it when we have learned more about it and have the tools we need, whatever those may be.

Male Human Ranger

Exploration roll1d20 + 13 ⇒ (7) + 13 = 20 not sure which direction we are headed.
Garick will also ask Kal which way he wants to head out during the meeting with Oleg. It might not be a bad idea to decide our general route in case we are needed for some reason. How long we will be gone roughly etc. .

M Human Cavalier /1st

Ox will speak with the group privately and if any are opposed he will refrain but if they are not he will present oleg with the silver earings to give to his wife. His Idea being that he doesn't want to insult their hospitality with paying but he wants to be able to thank them for the bed and more than anything the food. and by making it a gift from Oleg, it avoids any possible intrigue or confrontation.

Ox spends time checking his gear and ensuring every one's horses are fit to ride. He compliments Lukasz on his work on his own horse.

Corso agrees with Ox. It's a polite way to recognize the comfort.

Before heading out, he will ask Oleg if he has alchemical items like tanglefoot bags or antitoxin. If he doesn't, he'll ask if he could start getting some in the near future.

If he has a tanglefoot bag, Corso will ask if the group wants to have one for the Tuskgutter or the Stag Lord. He can't buy one on his own, but perhaps the group could.

That morning Oleg reviews the map with the group. "I'll warn the trappers, that the wisp is about. It looks like you lads may want to explore the north western side of the forest. That part seems a little bare."

He accepts Ox's gift on behalf of the party, "Svetlana will like these. They won't replace her ring, but I'm sure it will keep her smiling."

Before the sun rises further the group heads out with fresh packs and fresh spirits. The land to the west of Oleg's is just like to the south and east. Rocks and brush are scattered about. Several times small rabbits and foxes are spotted, quickly retreating to unseen dens. Without much to see on the plains the group delves into the forest determined to get some of it charted today.

After mapping a few miles of forest a strange airy laughter flits through the leaves over head. This is followed by a grunt and yell. "Whoooaaahhh!" As a man falls from a tree branch seventy feet away, his bow and arrows clatter around him.

He stands up, seven feet tall, with a furious look on his face. His red hair and ruddy skin match red furred hide armor that's open at the chest to reveal a swathe of curly hair. A silver amulet shows plainly from it's chain.

That's annoying. I totally edited it to use this alias. I'll get a map up tonight with the first round of combat. Everyone is mounted at this point. Garick and Corso in the lead. Followed by Ox and Kalsgrim, Servayn (Ember) and Lukasz, Janku and Tuck. You guys are in a line. The fallen man is 70ft to the south, perpendicular with Ox and Kalsgrim.

lol whoops surprise round right, and right on improved as well sorry didn't have book handy at the time.

Surprise Round, woods ambush

(17) Servayn's voice rises in a song-like invocation, "Aquila Celestianis", and an otherworldly eagle with wings like grey storm clouds and bright blue steel talons and beak appears in midair, halfway between his position and the men in the trees, already in flight and immediately charging for one of the concealed archers.

It tries to bite. Scoring a hit along the man's leather armor, but doesn't draw blood.

(10)"Beware there are more in the trees." Janku shouts pointing. He then casts bless on the party, greatsword shimmering as he whispers prayers of battle.

(9)Garick calls out "Two more in the trees!" Noking his bow after dismounting "Drop the bows and parley and you may yet live."

(8) "Parley? He wants to parley! We'll parley with your bodies and coins in our purse. RRAAARGGHHH!!!!!!" The man yells back and begins to scream wordlessly flecks of foam flying form his mouth. He tears a great axe from his back while moving forward thirty feet.

In response Garick looses his arrow at one of the hidden men. Miss Chance 1d100 ⇒ 74. It's hard to see from the distance and trees but his target sounds in pain.

(4) "You heard Rok. Fill 'em with arrows, lads." One of the bandits in the trees shouts. Three arrows from the branches above fly at the group. Two bandits step out from behind thick trunks and shoot as well. A sword can be heard drawn from the one under attack by the eagle, he drops his bow to the ground.

Longbow; 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (13) + 2 = 15 vs. Garick Miss.
Longbow; 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3 vs. Kalsgrim Miss.
Longbow; 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (12) + 2 = 14 vs. Lukasz Hit.
Damage; 1d8 ⇒ 6 (Lukasz HP: 2)
Longbow; 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (12) + 2 = 14 vs. Janku Miss.
Longbow; 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (10) + 2 = 12 vs. Servayn Miss.

Most of the arrows miss or bounce off armor, except for the one that catches Lukazs in the side. It's buried deep, only the fletching show outside his clothing.

The men in the trees are twenty feet up have 20% concealment from the branches and leaves. All of them are seen now. I'll have a map up later tonight as well as initiative for everyone else. Almost done here at work today.

Corso's round 1:

Startled and left vulnerable by the ambush, Corso curses then gives out a little word of thank to Calistria as he sees some of his friends react in time and the bandits in the trees picking other targets.

He carefully dismounts (move action) then moves towards the nearest tree to climb it while staying out of view.

Stealth: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (4) + 7 = 11
Climb: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8

I'm not going for a tree with bandits in it. Let me know how high I can get (probably not very high this round as I'm also trying to get to the tree AND hide).

The bandits in the trees have concealment, do we also get the same advantage towards them?

Kal Round 1

Spoiler:

Kal will dismount (Ride check if needed 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (15) + 6 = 21) and ready his bow.

(17) Servayn readies his crossbow and fires at the bandit on the ground. It's hard aiming past Lukasz beside him. The bolt whistles through the brush harmlessly.

Ember charges with a reverberating panther-like scream towards the same fallen bandit, not quite beating Servayn's crossbow bolt, but not by much! His bite tears open the large man's thigh. however it only seems to make him angier.

The storm-grey eagle flies into a frenzy of slashing talons, as it attacks a bandit b4 in the trees. One of his talons draws blood.

(15) Startled and left vulnerable by the ambush, Corso curses then gives out a little word of thank to Calistria as he sees some of his friends react in time and the bandits in the trees picking other targets.

He carefully dismounts then moves towards the nearest tree to climb it while staying out of view. Unfortunately the branches prove troublesome and Corso is unable to make any progress. If he was off the ground he would surely have fallen.

(14) Kalsgrim dismounts and draws his bow, eyeing the action taking place.

(10) Shouting to his battle god Janku clambers from the horse and moves in the direction of the nearest bandit on the ground. He pulls his greatsword from his back as he does.

(9) Garick draws and fires past Ember "You had your chance! Now tell Pharasma hello and your friends are on their way!" The hide shirt deflects the shaft.

(8) "Aarrgghh! I hope you liked the taste animal, I'll be roasting you on a spit!!" The red barbarian bandit known as Rok takes his great axe in both hands and slams the axe head straight down at Ember, headless of his own safety.

For the Iron Lord!!!

Is this Janku's round 1 since he acted in the surprise round by casting a spell and dismounting?

Surprise rounds are standard actions only. So I assumed the dismounting portion was more for flavor. I gave you the round 1 of move action to dismount, move action to move 20ft and draw your weapon. Nearly everyone had posted and it was going to be a long one so I wanted to get it up before the night ended.

Ox are you sure you want to do that? There's still two guys on the ground and climbing is a DC 15 for 1/4 your move speed per move action. They are twenty feet up.

I forgot the bless! (Just in case it mattered)

Male Human Cleric 1 (Unholy Barrister)

Slowly rising, Lukasz wavers a moment as the pain from the arrow grips him. However, determined to face these bandits, even in his weakened state, the young sorcere chants, "My Lady Fate's hand guide yours as you take aim on these fouls bandits." Reaching out and placing his hand on Kal's arm, the paladin feels an excited energy flow through his hand, almost urging him to take aim on the bandits.

Move action to rise, Standard action to grant a +1 to Kal's next attack, Skillcheck or saing throw.

Round 2, woods ambush (map)

(22) Ox wheels Noir around and charges through the forest trying to bring his lance bear on the bandit near Janku. The man turns just in time to deflect the jarring blow with his sword.

(17) The summoner jogs twenty feet forward and fires his loaded crossbow while growling, "It's a spirit creature, fool, you've wasted a fine blow on smokeless fire." In response the bandit ducks under the quarrel.

Ember lays on the ground burning and smoking. His essence boils forth into the air. Stability Check DC 10 1d20 - 7 ⇒ (1) - 7 = -6 (Ember HP: -9)

The gray-winged eagle tears out one of the bandit's eyes and he falls screaming from the tree. Whether the bird or the fall killed him his body is unmoving.

(15) Cursing under his breath at the tree branches, Corso slowly takes out his bow, trying to remain unseen from the big bandit that sliced through Ember.

He then lets fly a shaft, trying to catch the barbarian off guard. The shot is clean and juts straight from his chest.

(14) Sure this man is evil, but never one to assume Kalsgrim calls on Erastil to grant him sight. Twisted tendrils of smoke, fear, and lust rise off of the red giant. This man's evil intent confirmed Kalsgrim has no qualm in asking Erastil for his blessing to bringing this beast down. The sight of Ember being laid low so quickly causes concern for the others safety. None of them are as armored in faith and steel as a paladin of Deadeye. Dropping his bow Kalsgrim leads a charge, drawing his longsword, hoping to bring the man's attention to himself.

(9) Garick steps to the left for a clear view and takes careful aim at the nearby berserker. To his keen eye the man is as good as a bale of hay with a target on it.

Ignore these rolls unless you want Kalsgrim to die:
1d20 ⇒ 201d20 ⇒ 102d8 + 10 ⇒ (6, 7) + 10 = 23

The shot scores a hit matching Corso's.

(8) Frothing and breathing rapidly Rok reaches up and snaps the arrows from his chest. He howls in fury and swings his greataxe at Kalsgrim.

"Drink, my axe! Drink!!" He screams in a rage striking Kalsgrim. The blow comes from the side like one would fell a tree and does fell the paladin.

(4) Slowly rising, Lukasz wavers a moment as the pain from the arrow grips him. However, determined to face these bandits, even in his weakened state, the young sorcerer steps forward and chants, "My Lady Fate's hand guide yours as you take aim on these fouls bandits." Reaching out and placing his hand on Servayn's arm, the summoner feels an excited energy flow through his hand, almost urging him to take aim on the bandits.

(4) Two of the bandits fire at Garick, and one at Janku. "Show them who's boss, Rok! We got your back."

Spoiler:
Servayn adjusts his position to stand directly between the wounded sorcerer and the bandits and turns his crossbow upon the bandit who is climbing, suspecting that the man will be ill-positioned to avoid his inexpert attacks.

The same bandit as before, with a two handed power attack.

Sorry I wasn't around earlier. Thanks for the DMPC so I didn't hold up the round; much appreciated!

Two things wrong with that post Kal. Your to hit modifier is actually +7 = (+1 BAB, +2 Str, +4 smite evil, +1 bless, -1 power attack), and you're unconscious from an overdose of axe blade. May want to make a stability check.

round3:
Ox calls out the order of the Lion's challenge to Rok, as he steers Noir toward the beast of a man, putting his heels into his steed and spurning him onward lowering his lance and from the top of his lungs the roar of a lion rings out.

charge1d20 + 6 ⇒ (19) + 6 = 252d8 + 5 ⇒ (7, 7) + 5 = 19 Ox will be stopping there as he fully intends to stand and deliver this man into his grave.

Since 4/7 of you seem eager for me to run it for you I guess I'll get started with a nice discussion thread for us.

I'll go ahead and use this Alias for GMing this PBP since it's so much more ominous and GMey then my Scipion one.

While you guys are getting finished up I'll work on a starting story post to set the scene. You've already done a great job on the foundation for me.

For posts in the main thread feel free to use the format you like, but always seems that posting in third person ends up making the most sense when someone goes back and reads through it again.

Grand Lodge

posting for my dot :) I should have updated Garrick info in a bit.

(AC 18, hp 15 of 77) Summoner 9

Also posting for mah dot. Character should be done and ready.

Corso's ready to face the unknown! Thanks again Scipion!

Four e-mails so far. I've got Corso, Kalsgrim, Servayn, and Garrick. When I get all seven I'll take that as a sign to create the main story thread.

I love GMail. I'm flagging you guys all as Kingmaker participants so any e-mails from you head straight to a nice little Kingmaker folder.

OK I think I am good to go. I was curious how much for some wooden bowls, Plates and silverware. Also a pipe and some tobacco. Please Let me know if anything needs ammending on my Profile.

As for the Brothers Nowicki we are thick as thieves. we horse around with each other and crack Jokes. We also Treat Kalsgrim more Like one of us then our lord when we aren't around those who would consider it improper behavior. The Nowicki extended family serves in many capacities in the Lodovka Household. Each is given over to where they can best serve the household. Our mother Is one of the Household cooks. Our Father is the Stable Master one of our uncles a Majordomo of Lord Lodovka himself. We have a younger sister who works with the Households Falcons, and another uncle who captains one of the Lodovka vessels.

on a separate note I will be attending a funeral and a wake this weekend so I don't know if I will be available to post tomorrow. If nothing else I will be able to post on Sunday.

That should be fine, the beginning of this AP is mainly chatting with the locals and laying out some plans. So having a silent character won't bog things.

M Human Cavalier /1st

OK, guys if not its cool, but Cavaliers start out with a teamwork feat, and while I don't expect you guys to use them for your first feat, is there any you might consider picking up later?

fav 4:
Outflank (Combat, Teamwork)
You look for every edge when f lanking an enemy.
Prerequisites: Base attack bonus +4.
Benefit: Whenever you and an ally who also has this
feat are f lanking the same creature, your f lanking bonus
on attack rolls increases to +4. In addition, whenever
you score a critical hit against the f lanked creature, it
provokes an attack of opportunity from your ally.

Paired Opportunists (Combat, Teamwork)
You know how to make an enemy pay for lax defenses.
Benefit: Whenever you are adjacent to an ally who
also has this feat, you receive a +4 circumstance
bonus on attacks of opportunity against creatures
that you both threaten. Enemies that provoke attacks
of opportunity from your ally also provoke attacks of
opportunity from you so long as you threaten them
(even if the situation or an ability would normally deny
you the attack of opportunity). This does not allow you
to take more than one attack of opportunity against a
creature for a given action.

Precise Strike (Combat, Teamwork)
You are skilled at striking where it counts, as long as an
ally distracts your foe.
Prerequisites: Dex 13, base attack bonus +1.
Benefit: Whenever you and an ally who also has this
feat are f lanking the same the creature, you deal an
additional 1d6 points of precision damage with each
successful melee attack. This bonus damage stacks with
other sources of precision damage, such as sneak attack.
This bonus damage is not multiplied on a critical hit.

Shield Wall (Combat, Teamwork)
You are skilled at working together with those around
you for protection.
Prerequisites: Shield Proficiency.
Benefit: Whenever you are wielding a shield and are
adjacent to an ally who also has this feat, the AC bonus
from your shield increases, depending on the shield
wielded by your ally. If your ally is wielding a buckler or a
light shield, your shield bonus increases by +1. If your ally
is wielding a heavy shield or a tower shield, your shield
bonus increases by +2. You keep these bonuses even if
your ally loses his shield bonus due to making a shield
bash attack. If an adjacent ally with this feat uses a tower
shield to grant total cover, you also benefit if an attack
targeting you passes through the edge of the shield (see
page 153 of the Pathfinder RPG Core Rulebook).

the rest:
Shielded Caster (Teamwork)
Your allies are skilled at covering for you while you cast
complicated spells.
Benefit: Whenever you are adjacent to an ally who also has
this feat, you receive a +4 bonus on concentration checks. If
your ally is wielding a buckler or a light shield, this bonus
increases by +1. If you ally is wielding a heavy shield or a
tower shield, this bonus increases by +2. Finally, if an enemy
that is threatening you and your ally has the Disruptive feat,
or another ability that increases the DC of concentration
checks, the amount of the increase is halved.

Swap Places (Combat, Tactical)
You are skilled at changing places with your ally during
a chaotic melee.
Benefit: Whenever you are adjacent to an ally who
also has this feat, you can move into your ally’s square as
part of a normal movement (including a 5-foot step). At
the same time, your ally moves into your previous space.
Both you and your ally must be willing and able to move
to take advantage of this feat. Your ally must be the same
size as you to utilize this feat. Your ally does not provoke
an attack of opportunity from this movement, but you
provoke as normal. This movement does not count
against your ally’s movement on his next turn.

Allied Spellcaster (Teamwork)
With the aid of an ally, you are skilled at piercing the
protections of other creatures with
your spells.
Prerequisites: Caster level 1st.
Benefit: Whenever you are
adjacent to an ally who also
has this feat, you receive a +2
bonus on level checks made
to overcome spell resistance.
If your ally has the same spell
prepared (or known with a slot
available if they are spontaneous
spellcasters), this bonus increases
to +4 and you receive a +1 bonus
to the caster level for all leveldependent
variables, such as
duration, range, and effect.

Coordinated Defense
(Combat, Teamwork)
You are adept at working with allies to avoid being
tripped, grappled, and subjected to other maneuvers.
Benefit: Whenever you are adjacent to an ally who also
has this feat, you receive a +2 competence bonus to your
Combat Maneuver Defense. This bonus increases to +4 if
the creature attempting the maneuver is larger than both
you and your ally.

Coordinated Maneuvers (Combat,
Teamwork)
You are skilled at working with your allies to perform
dangerous combat maneuvers.
Benefit: Whenever you are adjacent to an ally who also
has this feat, you receive a +2 competence bonus on all
combat maneuver checks. This bonus increases to +4
when attempting to break free from a grapple.
Duck and Cover (Teamwork)
Your allies assist you in avoiding certain attacks.
Benefit: Whenever you are adjacent to an ally who also
has this feat, and both of you are required to make a Reflex
saving throw against a spell or effect, you may take the
result of your die roll or that of your ally (your modifiers
still apply to the roll, regardless of which result you take).
If you take your ally’s result, you are knocked prone (or
staggered on your next turn, if you are already prone or
cannot be knocked prone). In addition, you receive a +2
cover bonus to your AC against ranged attacks as long as
your ally is wielding a shield.

Lookout (Combat, Teamwork)
Your allies help you avoid being surprised.
Benefit: Whenever you are
adjacent to an ally who also has
this feat, you may act in the
surprise round as long as your
ally would normally be able to
act in the surprise round. If you
would normally be denied the
ability to act in the surprise
round, your initiative is equal
to your initiative roll or the
roll of your ally – 1, whichever
is lower. If both you and your
ally would be able to act in the
surprise round without the aid
of this feat, you may take both
a standard and a move action (or
a full-round action) during the
surprise round.

let me know if anyone is interested.

** spoiler omitted **...

For my part, I would say the two flanking feats are interesting. The BAB requirements put them in the future, though.

I'm also out until Sunday.

Posting for my dot. I'll review Kalsgrim character stats this weekend to make sure everything is set.

It looks like the only person I have not gotten an e-mail from or seen post so far is the Eldritch Knight player.

Sev's sheet is good.

Garick looks fine.

No weapons or armor for Janku or just haven't done the equipment yet?

Ox if you can clean up your sheet a bit like Corso's that would be useful, it's a little tricky to find stuff for now. Perhaps just spoiler the long class ability descriptions? As far as Teamwork Feats go I might suggest Lookout for Corso and Ox since he's got some serious initiative.

Corso is fine as well.

Kalsgrim seemed ok when I checked it before.

M Human Cavalier /1st

Okie dok, I am going to take all the base info and just throw it in a spoiler and have the actual info that effects my character up here soon. I was looking at it and realised it was still lacking quite a bit.

Hey, good luck with this game, all! I was on the verge of throwing in to DM this for your group, was getting everything together to make sure I could do it the way I wanted, then saw that Scipion stepped in. I put out an all-call for another group, so my preparation won't go to waste. I know a few of you from our Arcadia game already, so you guys should have fun.

This one makes an interesting option for a Druid or Summoner with a Companion / Eidolon, and I'll have to ponder it.

I suspect that it won't stack with itself, so that there wouldn't be some terrible dark symmetry if we all take it. :)

Servayn's origin story has been updated to include some training (in both combat and diplomacy) in a temple to Gorum, which could be where our two characters met, working under the same mentor. I had envisioned the training as involving a lot of Servayn getting beaten up by the real acolytes (since he was a lay worshipper, not a cleric-in-training), so there could be a little good-natured snark between the characters, as Servayn may have gotten a few bruises from Janku during their practice sessions...

ALright got all my crunch info in there I had a question about the mount though.

mount:
A cavalier starts with a Mount and it starts with light barding, do I need to buy the saddle and bridle and other stuff? If so I need to go back and adjust my equipment. Since the mount and barding were free of charge, I went ahead and took the best, let me know if I need to adjust.

A heavy horse gains the advanced simple template (already applied here). In addition, it also gains a bite attack that inflicts 1d4 damage, and its hoof damage increases to 1d6. As with a light horse, a heavy horse can be specifically trained for combat with the Handle Animal skill.
Horses stand 5 to 6 feet tall at the shoulder and weigh between 1,000 and 1,500 pounds.

Ox wrote:

Actually your mount has the same stats as a druid's animal companion. They are virtually the same except the druid animal companion would have +4 natural armor, with lower str, dex, con, wis, and cha.

Mount (Ex):

A cavalier gains the service of a loyal and trusty steed to carry him into battle. This mount functions as a druid’s animal companion, using the cavalier’s level as his effective druid level. The creature must be one that he is capable of riding and is suitable as a mount, such as a boar, camel, dog, horse, pony, or wolf (depending on his size and level, as such, boars and dogs are not suitable until 4th level). A cavalier’s mount does not gain the share spells special ability.

A cavalier’s bond with his mount is strong, with the pair learning to anticipate each other’s moods and moves. Should a cavalier’s mount die, the cavalier may find another mount to serve him after 1 week of mourning. This new mount does not gain the link, evasion, devotion, or improved evasion special abilities until the next time the cavalier gains a level.
Starting Statistics: Size Large; Speed 50 ft.; AC +4 natural armor; Attack bite (1d4), 2 hooves* (1d6); Ability Scores Str 16, Dex 13, Con 15, Int 2, Wis 12, Cha 6; Special Qualities low-light vision, scent. *This is a secondary natural attack, see Combat for more information on how secondary attacks work.

4th-Level Advancement: Ability Scores Str +2, Con +2; Special Qualities combat trained.

I'm afraid I don't see anything about barding though...so I think that may have to wait or come out of your starting funds.

M Human Cavalier /1st

Ok, Great! I was trying to find the horse stats, and just went a bit over board...I continued in fashion apparently deciding that the bonus mount feat of light armor proficency somehow meant that It came with armor. lol. *points toward Ox's INT score and runs away*

I will nerf that crazy horse that snuck into my profile.

ok, traded in my long bow for a short bow and nixxed my shield and I managed to get leather barding, a riding saddle and bit briddle.

Hey Scipion, have a while before I can get it, but how do you feel about my guy getting the Leadership feat. I am thinking that my cohort won't play a major role outside of the castle, once we get a kingdom going, mostly as a guy who handles things while I am away and the followers will form part of the military since I roughly plan my guy, with his arcane talent and soon to be martial know how, to become in charge of the military.

If it's a stay at home and watch the keep kind of Cohort shouldn't be an issue. Right now we are looking at close to 10 melee combatants just on the good guys side if you count in the cavaliers horse, the eidolon, and I don't remember if the paladin has a horse or not. Not to mention Summoned Monsters.

By the way Servayn let's have your Eidolon act on your initiative rather then it's own. Same for any summons, mounts, animal companions, etc.

Cool, I prefer that anyway as a GM, and even more as a player (since my conjuror can then take Improved Inititiave and have it count for both him and his gumbies). :)

If you post in a thread in your main screen name, a bold dot will appear next to the thread name while you are logged in. It makes it easy to scan down a long list of threads and pick out the ones that you are participating in.

The awesome looking 3d view is courtesy of Chinchbug

Also I've had the dot appear in threads where just my alias posted.

ps. The English major in me begs you to please watch the use of capitals. It makes me twitch O . o Thank you kindly. Unless I'm just being dense and that's a sorta incharacter thingy...

M Human Cavalier /1st

ok, that makes a lot more sense about the dots. I tend to just list every thread I am watching and then it even gives me a nifty little link to the new posts(3 new)button.

And unfortunately Scipion,No. its not an incharacter thing. I tend to be a bit gramatically challenged. Any pointers you have for me though, I will gladly take on. The capitals tend to be my pinky finger spastically wanting to join in the typing fun and throwing caps in randomly. I will double check my posts.

RPG Superstar 2011 Top 4

Not a big deal, wasn't 100% sure. Caps are usually just for the start of a sentence and names. It makes me think of olde english when I see writing with random nouns capitalized.

I myself have a bad habit of run on sentences. Along with changing the second half of a sentence but forgetting to check how it reads with the first half.

This will peak your interest. I've parred down the map of the Greenbelt so that you can see the Hexes you've been through and have a hint at the Hexes nearby. Each hex is 12 miles from one flat side to the opposite. I'll go into more detail about exploring when we get closer to that time.

Consider this the map you are creating for the Swordlords.
Current Map of the Greenbelt

M Human Cavalier /1st

Neat! and from there we are going east, west and south. I like it.

Dark Archive

Some dude

For future reference, anytime you want a dot in a PBP thread (without posting as your 'self'), you can just post there as your 'self' some random garbage (asdadasasds) and then delete the post a second later. The dot will remain, even after you've deleted the post that triggered it.

I also tend to List my PBPs, but then I can never get the darn list to display, so it's just a big waste of time for me. :)

I'm watching the thread eagerly, but I figured I'd let another person or two chime in before Oleg responds. If you want Corso to kinda be your spokesperson, please post something like Sev did, a small action. So I know you're waiting on me ;)

Also, everybody has picked a color so here's what I came up with. I'll use these on the battle map. Now sense these maps don't have XY coordinates or anything like that, and that's too much work, we'll need to be a little vague. For fights just explain where you want to go such as "the corner of the building" "flanking with Corso" "Within ten feet of the rabid grizzly bear" and you'll be positioned accordingly within your move speed.
Tokens
I tried to pick colors you guys offered that weren't used by another PC. If you want one changed just let me know.

Dark Archive

Some dude

We were kinda inundating Oleg with chatter, so I moved Servayn off screen for a moment. One of the problems with PBP is that everyone gets to talk at once and it begins to look like the NPC is under some sort of gang-interrogation. :)

Yeah, Corso setup a nice queue of questions for me to respond to later.

thats what Npc's are for! *sits Oleg and his wife down in a dark room and points a lamp at them.* "Tell us all the important plot info!"

I agree with Set, it can be somewhat problematic. I try to place a few questions while mentioning that I space them through the encounter. It lets other player position their questions too, and the GM can either tell how the evening went or respond to each post separately. Either is fine with me. I kind of like that nonlinearity to it.

I certainly don't want to be the "face" of the party. I just play my character and we each have specific questions like wether the catapults are operational, etc.

I very much like the group dynamic in this game and Dorgar's. When the GM deems it is time to move on, I believe we can move on and if someone gets online after the fact, he can either ask for a little flashback or move along. With seven players, I think it's the best way to keep the game running. I can't help but notice how few games actually last a bit.

Let's not forget about the catapults ;-P
