So far so great. If I may make a suggestion though, maybe, when the group is separated, post what happens on each side in spoiler? It keeps us on the edge.
Yeah that sounds really cool. I hadn't thought of doing that. Since it's no problem for me to split up the party (unlike a tabletop game) and we practically have two parties. Heck you guys could explore multiple hexes at once if you wanted later on.
Your attacks are fine too. Although as a heads up. If you're standing in grease and you haven't moved or made an acrobatics check, you're not flat-footed.

Corso Gaczi |
Ok, just to check if we are on the same page:
If the character in the Grease suffers damage from an attack, must he make an Acrobatics check? I would say "not sure, the text is fuzzy."
If the character in the Grease attacks someone, must he make an Acrobatics check? I would say "no, but only because it is not covered in the text."
Do we have the same reading? So if Corso comes to the man, he's better off not moving and attack me. But if I get myself a longspear, then I can attack him while he can't attack me, unless he moves, and then can attack him next while he's still flat-footed, or better yet, prone and flat-footed.

So it has a few effects. First everyone caught in the spell has to make a Reflex save or fall prone.
If you try to walk into, out of, or through you travel at half speed and have to make an Acrobatics check. (When you make an Acrobatics check in this manner you're flat-footed)
If you just stand up in the area and don't move anywhere then there's no penalty...aside from not being able to move.
There's no mention of what happens if they take damage, so no need for a check then. Same goes if they attack someone else.
So if he moves he's in trouble, if he stays put he can only shoot people. These bandits are not the greatest strategists though, little more then thugs.

Janku Tolliver |

you have no idea how hard it is to go secure a live foe. it goes against every kill them all instinct in my gamer body.
Your restraint is admirable. I don't feel my Cleric of Gorum would have been so inclined. He would have to had to at least bleed him a bit ;-).

Never mind me. Just trying some stuff out.

Kalsgrim Lodovka |
It is great rp and combat so far. I'm enjoying it very much. I'm just trying not to push too hard so that players start to feel bossed around. :) At this point, Kalsgrim really doesn't believe they'll end up as anything more than marshalls, that any real rulership over the area once settled will be sent by the Swordlords at that time.

Ox |

Well, to be honest I gave Ox the order of the lion becuase I wanted to show some deference, it fits the whole servant thing, though if his lord is lenient and requires him to treat him as another man, then he'll respect him all the more, it just makes it a more subtle roll of servant and lord.

Mastermind |

You folks may find this interesting but my RL group settled that combat by standing in the yard and the bandits showed up all grouped up on their horses. After a brief exchange and the bandits pretending to be simple traders (they didn't like the idea of thugging with 4 extra bodies in front of them wanted to come back with more numbers) the wizard stepped out from behind an illusion and Color Sprayed. He knocked out all of the bandits and their horses. > . <

Ox |

Ohhhh, good point. That might save us from laying plans to kill the guards.
Also Garick is playing some texas holdem tonight So I bet he will probably be posting late late tongiht, and in couple hour or two I will probably call it a night.
Lol, those wizards can be tricky folks. thats a pretty impressive, I wonder how diffrently your Rl game and our game will end up.

Being Chaotic Good, Ox and Sevrayn may be adhering to the letter of the law a tiny bit strictly. Everyone else is acting right in the definition of their alignment.
Just tossing it out there since you guys are doing a great job roleplaying. This might be a game where your alignments should reflect your actions or else the alignment may change over time.
Like I said about the LG paladin alignment thing before, I'm not a stickler on it, but it may be fun to keep track of it for you guys :)

Servayn is using the letter of the law to justify wanting to execute the man, because, frankly, he thinks attempting to build a prison for him and feed him and keep an eye on him lest he return to his pillaging and raping ways sounds like a lot of hard work...
He's not generally a stickler for the letter of the law, and is just as likely to argue for saving people who *do* seem repentent, depending on the situation.
I'm personally a big fan of pulling together repentent bandits to form some of the new citizenry, but this guy just isn't convincing me. :)

Oleg appears to have cast the deciding vote on the matter...
On the one hand, he is the wounded party, having had his belongings stolen and his wife threatened.
On the other hand, he's not the one who was empowered by the crown to execute bandits.
On the other, other hand, he's not really a subject of the crown, at the moment, so he probably doesn't give a rat's bum about the laws of Brevoy, being still technically a resident of the River Kingdoms, at the moment...
Our first moral dilemna! <sniff> They grow up so fast...

I was just getting ready to put up a post for Gerick. I was catching up on the posts I had missed while I was out when I got to the last two Olag posts. I had a few things to say too. Oh well I am sure there will be more opportunities. nice to see the interaction and the fact that there are defiantly different camps and those in between should make for a very fun in depth game as long as everyone can separate character from person which since we are all adults with quite a bit of gaming under our belts should be doable.

This game makes me grin with pride. I like that.
Sorry about cutting you off, Dorgar. I hope no one minded me stepping in and kinda wrapping that up. I also hope that I did it in a manner that evoked some sort of emotion making it an enjoyable read.
Yes, there will be plenty of bandits and moral dilemmas! I think the question now is "ride out and get the surprise" or "rest the day and night and strike tomorrow while refreshed and restored"
Either way is fine for the game. Heck, even holing up in the fort is on option. Although probably not a very good way to "map the greenbelt"
