If anyone missed it. I put up a combat map with player positions for the ambush. If you'd like a different position just mention it as part of your post. Waiting on Ox and Janku to confirm.

Ambush Setup

edit: hrmm, the copy on photobucket now has (S) and (L) in the wrong spots. (L) should be in the house with (S) in A2. I'll fix that before everything starts.

AC 24 (25) HP 30/30 AP 8/8

Does this drawing have Janku under the battlement walk, or on it. Though fairly strong he is loud (Stealth -4) and does not move quickly {Move 20). Much better off when the battle comes to him. If there is someway to hid him beside the gate (Behind a barrel or something, then once the bandits are inside to defend the gate then that is good. Otherwise it might be better to have his position taken by someone quieter and/or more nimble, and set him up inside somewhere. If he is still the best option, then let's just go for it, and hope he is not spotted

My thinking was behind the open gates under the battlements. So when they give a shout you guys throw the doors shut. Also, not very hard to hide behind a large wooden door giving you full concealment.

That's cool then wasn't sure how the gates worked.

They open to 90 degree angles _| |_ so you and Ox would easily be covered.

Male Human Cleric 1 (Unholy Barrister)

Lukasz wakes and can feel the vibrant energy about his new teammates as they prepare for the battle to come. As this energy passed through him, he felt that he was destined to help these people. Even more than that, he felt that his was a destiny that would not only ensure the prosperity of the Greenbelt, but also of his and these group of characters as well. Spending some time in sharpening his sickle and checking his crossbow before eating a light meal along side Kalsgrim. He will move into position and prepare himself mentally for the battle to come.

AC 24 (25) HP 30/30 AP 8/8

As Janku rises, he offers to lead a small service to Gorum, asking for his blessing and guidance in the coming battle, and asks everyone to attend. he will then read a few passages from the holy scrolls, and perform his stretching routine, before checking and rechecking the straps of his armor, and the edge of his blade.

Spells prayed for Bless, Magic Weapon, Shield of Faith

After grabbing some bread and some wine, Corso moves about the trading post, mentally marking every corner and every hiding place, identifying lines of firing. He acknowledges every one's own preparation, like little rituals, noting with respect the absolute found in the mundane.

When Janku offers to perform a short ritual, he smiles and accepts. All rituals for our souls, for we are about murder today, and maybe our own.

As he sharpens his rapier, he says: "The elves of Kyonin have a saying: "The swiftest kill is the one that leaves the killer surprised." May your blades be swift as your judgement."

He gets into position, carefully placing his cape as to keep him in shadows and let him raise his bow in silence. His rapier lays unsheated, ready to be used.

M Human Cavalier /1st

sorry for the wait guys, I just didn't get to make it to the pc yesterday.

After following along wiht Janku's sermon, he feels revitalized. Ox does some streches in the morning, does a quick check of his blade and sharpens it a few times, with flint and steel, He will then confirm with everyone the two whistles and what each of them eman and then goes to lean up against the wall behind the gate, readying the trap for scoundrels.

Kalsgrim waits inside the doorway, bow ready. He's looking for a clean line of sight so that he might able to use Detect Evil once they are inside.

1st day of Pharast, inside of Oleg's Trading post.

The sun is a hand's breath in the sky when Garick first spots them. As they get closer he can make out five men on horseback, leading another horse, and a mule. The lead one is as Oleg described, a hunter wearing a hooded leather jerkin. They ride their horses quickly across the hills stopping outside the fort. As they are dismounting Garick can spot one of them grinning from ear to ear, "I'm glad we got on Kressle's good side, eh? We get to be the first ones to have a go with Oleg's wench. 'bout time she let us bring her 'spoils' back with us."

One of them looks past where Ember is crouched, with no sign of noticing. He takes the reins of the horses and stands outside. The other four walk through the gates, the last is carrying a length of rope.

Happs stops within ten feet of the trader, "Oleg, your wares are starting to come short with Kressle. She's decided to take an extra tithe this month. Call out that pretty wife of yours, or we burn this place to the ground."

Oleg is looking considerably less distraught then Happs thought he would be. Standing straight he puts his hands to his hips and calls, "It's time to come out!"

The bandits look around a little warily, some putting their hands to the hilts of their shortswords. Kidnapping a woman is nervous work.

Time for the fight! Here's the initiative. Post your actions in any order. I'll straighten them out when I do the summary of the round after everyone has acted. If you attack someone who's already dead I'll just have you attack the next target. etc. Please include attack rolls and damage assuming you hit.

Kalsgrim 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 2 = 10
Ox 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (13) + 2 = 15
Corso 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (19) + 10 = 29
Janku 1d20 ⇒ 7
Lukasz 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (20) + 2 = 22
Garick 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (12) + 3 = 15
Servayn 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4

Battle Map, Round 1

M Human Cavalier /1st

Ox will move around the door and close it behind him as he makes his way outside of the fort, with all the men inside he wants to insure two things, that the man on the horse stays alive and that he doesn't get away. He realizes Ember is out there for such a case but He wants to ensure the capture as well. Once outside Ox will attempt to mount the closest horse, feeling much more comfortable on a steed.

I'm making the assumption that Garick uses the whistles as planned to let us know someone stayed outside. I'm hoping that I have enough time to do all of this.If someone takes care of the guy outside before I act I will simply try to capture one of the men left standing on the inside.

AC 24 (25) HP 30/30 AP 8/8

Hopefully we'll have an action before we get into combat to close the gates. Janku will slam the gate shut from the inside, and cast Shield of Faith upon himself. AC 17 for the next minute

As a move action, Kalsgrim will Detect Evil on Happs, as he seems to be the leader. If he registers, Kalsgrim will designate him for Smite Evil. If not, he'll save the ability. Either way, he'll shoot Happs with his bow.

To Hit: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (16) + 3 = 19
An additional +4 to hit if he is evil.
Damage: 1d8 ⇒ 8
An addtional +1 damage if he is evil.

EDIT: Based on the map posting, I'll revise a little. With the surprise round he'll still shoot Happs, but with his regular action he'll move out between Oleg and the bandits, dropping his bow and drawing his sword. He'll use his standard action to do a two handed attack on any bandit close to him, Happs if he's still there.

To Hit: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (7) + 3 = 10
Damage: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7

Oops, should have made it a bit clearer. Consider this a surprise round, as it's an ambush and all. So you'd be allowed one move or standard action. Just include your surprise round as part of your first round.

So Ox could use his surprise round to close the gate while moving in front of it. Then another move action to get near a horse, and second move to mount it.

Janku could certainly shut the gate during the surprise, and cast a spell on the first.

You may also want to look at the map with the bandits, > . < sorry I posted late last night.

Battle Map, Round 1 (with more bandits)

OK, thanks for the clarification. Reposting accordingly:
Watching the bandits move in, and listening to their leader: Thank you so much for painting a big target on your back, Mylord... And on top of that giving us a good enough reason to skin you as a bandit and a kidnapper.

Corso uses the shadows to remain hidden as he pulls the string of his bow and take a slow aim at the leader. He takes pleasure at Oleg's play and cannot but acknowledge the courage this good man is showing.

Corso's action during the surprise round:

SA: bow sneak attack on the flat-footed leader.
Shortbow: to hit 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7
Damage 1d6 ⇒ 3
Sneak Attack extra damage: 1d6 ⇒ 6
Critical confirm: Shortbow: to hit 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (7) + 4 = 11
Extra damage 1d6 ⇒ 1

"Ooh! Rape! What an exquisite idea!"
FA: drop his bow

Corso's action during the 1st round:

Moving out of the shadows with haste, Corso grabs his rapier and proceeds to dispense judgement in a quick fashion. "Bastards! The Mayor of Restov sends his regards."
MA: grab his readied rapier and move in front of Oleg.
SA: rapier attack on the still flat-footed leader.
Rapier: to hit 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (9) + 4 = 13
Damage 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3
+2 damage vs FF opponent (trait)
Sneak Attack damage: 1d6 ⇒ 3
Critical confirm: Rapier: to hit 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (10) + 4 = 14
Extra damage 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8

AC 24 (25) HP 30/30 AP 8/8

After casting his spell on round one Janku will take his 20' of movement towards B3 (Assuming he doesn't come to me first. "In the name of Gorum I judge you guilty, and sentence you to death in combat"!

Male Human Cleric 1 (Unholy Barrister)

Surprise Round: Stepping out from his spot inside the guest rooms, Lukasz says, "Oi! I'm not sure if you realize it, but they save a special place on the Abyss for kidnappers and rapists!" Moving forward slightly, Lukasz feels arcane energy begin to flow through him as he stands ready to meet any attack that his shout might have incurred.

Stepping out to expose himself, wary of attacks directed his way.

Round 1: (if no one has approached to attack)

Spoiler:
Lukasz allows the arcane power flowing through him to launch from his fingers in the form of a viscous glob of acid with flies to hit the nearest bandit(b2).

Attack:1d20 + 2 ⇒ (20) + 2 = 22
Damage:1d3 ⇒ 1

(if bandit approaches)

Spoiler:
Lukasz draws his sickle as arcane energy folds around him, seeming to form blue, translucent armor around his body before fading away.

Draw weapon as move action and cast Mage Armor as Standard action

Spellcraft to cast defensively if needed: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (18) + 8 = 26

Lukasz you crit with the orb of acid, want to roll your confirm and bonus damage?

Just waiting on Garick and Servayn action now :)

Male Human Cleric 1 (Unholy Barrister)

Crit Damage: 1d3 ⇒ 1

(AC 18, hp 15 of 77) Summoner 9

Servayn moves a pace to the north and then two to the west and hissings a twisting arcane syllable, conjuring forth a sheen of ruddy grease on the ground beneath the lead bandit and his closest follower.

The 10 ft. square including both H and b1, both (or the horse, if Hess is mounted) must make a Ref save DC 16 or fall. Creatures in the grease are treated as flat-footed unless they hold still, which may give the others an advantage to hit them on the next round, before their action.

His action on the next round is to discharge his crossbow at the nearest foe, then set it on the table to his right as he picks up his longspear, propped against the wall to his left.

crossbow 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (14) + 2 = 16
damage 1d8 ⇒ 1

If a bandit remains outside of the fort on horseback (b4) after the gates close, Ember will charge that bandit and attempt to knock it off it's horse.

Charge and Bull Rush, counting on the surprise round to avoid suffering an attack of opportunity. No damage, unless the fall from the horse results in some minor bumps and bruises...

Bull rush 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (14) + 5 = 19 -2 if the charge can't be performed because of the surrounding horses and stuff.

Male Human Ranger

Garick will let out the whistle that there is one staying behind at the gate then he moves along the east wall up to even with b2 for his surprise action.
Round 1 he will let fly with an arrow at b2 hollering Drop your weapons and receive the Swordlords swift justice. Fight on and you may find more pain than you wish!
1d20 + 6 ⇒ (17) + 6 = 231d8 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7includes favored enemy bonus
1d20 + 6 ⇒ (20) + 6 = 262d8 + 8 ⇒ (6, 1) + 8 = 15 if I need to confirm a crit.

Surprise Round
(29)-Corso uses the shadows to remain hidden as he pulls the string of his bow and takes a slow aim at the leader. He takes pleasure at Oleg's play and cannot but acknowledge the courage this good man is showing.

The arrow flies wide missing Happs, it lands deep in the oaken gate behind him.

(22)-Stepping out from his spot inside the house, Lukasz says, "Oi! I'm not sure if you realize it, but they save a special place on the Abyss for kidnappers and rapists!" Moving forward slightly, Lukasz feels arcane energy begin to flow through him as he stands ready to meet any attack that his shout might have incurred.

(15)-Ox moves around the door and closes it behind him as he makes his way outside of the fort, with all the men inside he wants to insure two things, that the man on the horse stays alive and that he doesn't get away.

(15)-Garick will let out the whistle that there is one staying behind at the gate then he moves along the east wall

(10)-Kalsgrim focuses his holy power asking for insight from Erastil. He can see the demons all of these men carry looming over their shoulders. Murder, rape, theft, torture, each one has a cloud of deeds tainting their soul, but no strong auras are present.

(7)-Janku puts his foot to the gate and kicks it forward, it slams shut. The sound booms through out the trading post.

(4)-Servayn moves a pace to the north and then two to the west, hissing a twisted arcane syllable, conjuring forth a sheen of ruddy grease on the ground beneath the lead bandit and his closest follower.

Happs falls to the ground ungracefully, unable to keep his balance. The other bandit slides a bit but keeps his footing.

Ember charges from her cover towards the man on horse back. The other animals spook at her presence pulling free of the bandit and backing away. The bandit holds up his hands in surprise, but she's able to slam into him, throwing the man from the saddle onto the ground beside the horse. btw, Bull Rush never deals damage.

If anyone sees this before the end of Round 1 is up, keep your pants on I'm typing that post up.

Round 1
(29)-Moving out of the shadows with haste, Corso grabs his rapier and proceeds to dispense judgement in a quick fashion. "Bastards! The Mayor of Restov sends his regards." The blade slices from Happs' neck down and across his back with a spray of blood.

(22)-Lukasz allows the arcane power flowing through him to launch from his fingers in the form of a viscous glob of acid which flies to hit the nearest bandit across the arm.

(19)-Happs regains his footing and stands up drawing his dagger. He spits and yells, "Oleg, you dirty bastard of a sneak, I'll see you die with your innards in your own hands while you watch us take your wife!" Being careful of his footing he tries to attack Corso.
Dagger; 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (14) + 3 = 17

Longbow; 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (16) + 2 = 18

The third one steps forward pulling his bow from his back and looses an arrow at Lukasz. He seems angered by the words.
Longbow; 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (15) + 2 = 17
Damage; 1d8 ⇒ 7
Lukasz is struck just above the collar bone, very near his neck and vital arteries.

The last bandit is panic stricken, knocked from his horse and surrounded by foes with a closed gate behind him he looks for an escape. Sheepishly he holds up both hands dropping his sword.

(15)-From his pertch on the battlements Garick looses an arrow at the bandit striking Servayn. "Drop your weapons and receive the Swordlords swift justice. Fight on and you may find more pain than you wish!" The arrow buries itself deep in his gut and the thief crumples around it.

(15)-Ox draws his longsword and points it at the man's throat just in case. Taking a moment he gathers up the reins of the nearby horses.

(10)-Seeing that these men truelly are evil Kalsgrim draws his bow sure vengence at heart. With a swift prayer to Elastril he's filled by a brief surge of holy power. The arrows strikes out like a message from his god catching Happs in the back. The bandit stumbles to his knees and collapses to the ground.

(7)-Janku touches a strip of parchment from the Book of Holy Battles and recites it from memory, a chain of glowing shields swirls through the air about him resting on his armor. He moves into position shouting, "In the name of Gorum I judge you guilty, and sentence you to death in combat!"

(4)-Servayn aims his crossbow at the sole bandit before him and pulls the trigger. The bolt grazes the mans scalp. After setting the weapon on the bench he reaches for the longspear at hand.

Ember pads over to the bandit growling and generally looking fierce.

OX smiles at the man on the ground, though through his helm no one would ever know. I'm not sure how much patience Ember has for those that don't obey, If you really want to find out I suppose you could wiggle around some. other wise you just lay nice and still.

Ox hopes that Ember doesn't simply kill the man, while he has observered the fierce beast on the way to Oleg's, he certainly hasn't seen how Ember reacts to being above a helpless man, ready to be slain.

a subtle hand will be put out to the side holding his palm toward ember.

Screaming in pain as the arrow takes Lukasz in the collarbone, the sorcerer staggers for a moment as he feels his own blood mar his fine robes. Never having felt such pain before, his vision blurs for a moment though he quickly shakes it off and glares that the bandit who shot him. I would prefer sticking to the built in board dice roller. If you look in the BBCode tags below where you post it'll show you how to do it. If put in the roll and want to edit extra info afterwards it will save your roll.

Ox takes a step back from Ember, pretty sure that he had annoyed..it. and focuses back on the holigan at hand.

"So, you are going to answer some questions for us later, I suspect since you want to live you'll do so with out making us beat them out of you right? I bet Oleg could think of some fun ways to get information from you, paticularly seeing as what you were coming for today."

Feinting high and diving low, he tries to take advantage of the man's "slippery" condition, but misses the cut.

(22)-Screaming in pain as the arrow takes Lukasz in the collarbone, the sorcerer staggers for a moment as he feels his own blood mar his fine robes. Never having felt such pain before, his vision blurs for a moment though he quickly shakes it off and glares that the bandit who shot him. Pain, converting to anger, Lukasz incants an arcane phrase as more magic surrounds the young sorcerer, girding him in blue, translucent armor before fading away. Then, drawing his sickle, Lukasz prepares to move in to attack the offending bandit.

(19)-A pool of blood spreads from Happs, staining the magical grease crimson.

(18)-Looking to the ground then at the shut gate and the men around him the bandit appears worried, "Damn you Happs, look where we ended up..." He takes another arrow from his quiver and turns to Corso, "He'd like a little revenge."
Longbow; 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (17) + 2 = 19

"For Happs!" yells the other man attacking Janku with his shortsword.
Shortsword; 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (14) + 2 = 16
Damage; 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6

(15)-The bandits back is spread before him like a target board. Garick can spot the exact spot to aim and strike a man's heart. He pulls back the string with a breath and the arrow flies true, his target turns in shock falling forward.

(15)-Ox takes a step back from Ember, pretty sure that he had annoyed..it. and focuses back on the holigan at hand.

"So, you are going to answer some questions for us later, I suspect since you want to live you'll do so with out making us beat them out of you right? I bet Oleg could think of some fun ways to get information from you, paticularly seeing as what you were coming for today. What do you say?"

Ox looks across the horizon for any others he should be concerned about.

(10)-Trying to ignore the searing pain in his leg Kalsgrim fires at Janku's target. With his vision showing spots of red and being careful to avoid his companion though it's a poor shot.

(7)-The battle priest hauls a massive sword from it's scabbard and swings it with all his might, "For The Lord in Iron!"

It's an easy to dodge attack for the bandit.

(4)-Servayn moves next to the fallen body and jabs the spear straight through the lucky thief. He may have avoided Kalsgrim and Janku, but Servayn's spear finds a home in his liver. Finishing him.

Ember just growls low over the prone captive, ready to pounce.

All the bandits have been neutralized and combat has ended. Please post at your leisure. Several people are wounded...

Male Human Cleric 1 (Unholy Barrister)

With all the bandits dead, and his adrenaline draining out with his blood, Lukasz takes a seat on the bench as he takes a deep breath, fighting the sudden surge of pain in his shoulder. Close to losing consciousness, the sorcerer simple leans his head back and closes his eyes for a second.

Male Human Ranger

Garick seeing that those inside have been dealt with rushes back to the tower arrow nocked in his bow looking down to make sure Ox has it under control. It is over inside brother; they are finished! he says excitedly. Looking at the prone man he says I have one here for you if you think to run know two of your companions have fallen to my bow already .

With a rasping voice, Corso, as he moves with obvious pain towards Happs comments on the fight: "Those thugs meant business. Never have I seen such scum cut so precisely and deeply! Good thing we had this thing planned well. Makes me wonder... I'm glad we didn't go at the whole troup. With what happened this morning, I can't help but wonder as to our fate had you listened to me!" With that, he moves, slowly, beside Lukasz, his breath shallow and gurgling, his face green and sweaty. "If nobody minds, I would suggest a small pause before we... move on."

As things settle, his sight will linger on the dead bodies.

Appraise: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (18) + 6 = 24

M Human Cavalier /1st

Ok throws his arms wide. "Brother, I would say I have it handled but the truth is Ember has everything under control and I believe that It might take Servayn to keep our live prisoner living.” he shrugs to ember if its paying him any mind. I am merely holding onto the six horses and a mule.”

He waits for the gates to open. Next time someone else gets to capture the horses! Janku? Once you calm down man, you want to take a look at Lukasz and Corso? It looks like they may have seen the less appreciated side of Gorum’s mercy.

Ox leads the animals toward the stables. Taking stock of what breeds and quality of horses they just got their hands on, if they look as if they are well taken care of, if their saddles fit right and all the other things a person raised around horse might think of.

With seven of them and now eight horses and a mule, he would more than likely propose giving the extra beasts to Oleg, if they aren’t his in the first place.

Brother Jenku, can you call on the Iron One to help with our wounds?

Lukasz, could you help Ox with interrogating our prisoner? Don't promise him freedom; it is just not an option for him.

Corso, once your wounds are tended to, can you help Oleg find a hiding place for his wife? She would need to be able to get into it quickly if bandits return in our absence. And he may need help with a story.

Oleg, keep the goods you had for the bandits together as though you are still waiting for them to come. We will try to intercept any bandits heading this way, but I want you prepared in case any get past us, or in case we... fail.

Garick! We need to clear this battle site. We can't have a trace of it if bandits come here or Oleg will pay the price. We'll need to find a river or peat bog for the bodies, and we'll commandeer these horses.

Male Human Ranger

Garick listens to Kalsgrim and smiles He's going to do fine. Yes your Lor.., Kalsgrim I will see what can be done about getting the signs of battle removed. Garick comes down and begins trying to get rid of the signs of the battle taking the bodies into a pile until he puts them on horseback to find a place to dispose of them.
Is there anywhere that Garick has seen that would serve as a likely place to be rid of the bodies if not what kind of roll would you like to see what he thinks would be the most likely way to someplace suitable? If you wish for time saving purposes go ahead and roll it, and I will go with it.
If it would work Kal I could take Ox with me to dispose of the bodies we could put them on a few of the horses and make a good pace I would say. He will do his best to get rid of any blood pools by adding loose soil over the area even ask Oleg for a rake or hoe if possible.

Male Human Cleric 1 (Unholy Barrister)

Looking up as Kalsgrim starts handing out duties, Lukasz says, "Yeah, I'm sure I can get a lot of info out of him by bleeding all over him Kal." Then taking a deep breath as another bout of dizziness washes over him, Lukasz moans in pain as he mumbles, "Not what Kergan painted out adventuring to be." Then turning to Kalsgrim once more, Lukasz continues, "I'll get to it quick as a blink once Janku has a look at this," motioning to the arrow sticking from his collarbone with his head, which in turn spurs another bout of dizziness.

AC 24 (25) HP 30/30 AP 8/8

Sorry guys. I was away all night. By the way Janku had on Shield of Faith, so the attack actually missed him as his AC was 17 at the time of the attack.

"Yes"! "Yes"! "Yes"! "Glorious combat"! "That my friends is what it's all about". "Did you see how Gorum's grace protected me from that low-handed scum".

"Please step over here with me my friends and lets say a prayer of thanks for delivery from this combat, and for the exhilaration of battle". "Gather and let the holy might of Gorum sooth your well earned wounds".

Janku leads the injured to a more private area of the courtyard (out of healing range of the corpses), and channels the positive energy of Gorum to heal wounds.

I absolutely hate the built in dice roller. I had to submit, and edit my post four times to cast the healing channels. Is there any particular reason why you don't want us to use Invisible Castle. Its much easier and more flexible, and I can keep it open, and copy and paste to my hearts content. I'll go along with what you want, but was just curious as to the reasons. The rolls are linked, so cheating is tough even were someone so inclined

Realizing that he was just barking orders, Kal sighs and blushes.
I'm sorry everyone; I guess it was just my blood raised from the fight and wounds. If anyone else has ideas on what we should do, let's go over it quickly.

Thank you kindly, Janku.

(AC 18, hp 15 of 77) Summoner 9

Servayn pulls his spear free from the impaled bandit, and is momentarily torn between a desire to bind his wounds or just take the easy path and allow him to bleed to death, rather than deal with the uncomfortable conversation that would follow regarding his eventual disposition.

Instead, he walks to the gate and checks on Ember and Ox's adventures, smiling broadly to see Ember crouching over the captive.

"A victory for us all, thank you for your part," he says, facing both Ox and Ember, and apparently addressing them both.

Regarding the captive, he moves to kick aside any weapon that fell from his grip when he was toppled over, and says in a clear voice, "Milord Kalsgrim, there is a single survivor here," he emphasises the word 'single' to ensure that the prisoner is aware of how overmatched he and his companions were, "Are the legends true that you can see into the heart of a man, to divine if all is black, or if some hope for redemption yet remains?"

There just isn't any elegant in-game way to say, 'Come detect evil on this schmuck,' is there? :)

M Human Cavalier /1st

After Servayn comes to help out ember or the bandit depending on how you look at it,My pleasure Servayn, Ember did all the work. Ox proceeds to stable the beasts to let them get some water and some hay in them. He then follows Kals orders with haste and an eye for detail, He will put all of the bodies near where he was originally hiding, out of sight from the road in, he will then start to turn the soil in order to hide any blood that escaped, He will also take the time, while moving the bodies to relieve them of any thing of value or use, that they won't be needing anymore. He will keep an ear out for Corso in case he misses anything.

I'm all for putting these ruffians in a bog or some such, as for their horses I suggest that we get the rest of you a horse and then give over the mule and a horse to Oleg, for the first step in the bandits repaying Oleg for his troubles.

Ox idly wonders if they are going to have the four bodies or if there will be five. regardless, the horses could use a bit of a break.

Feeling a wave of vibration wash over him, as if the Iron One himself had smashed the ground beside him, Corso cannot but marvel at the power of true faith. He tests his body a little, rejoycing in the fast and precise movements his body makes.

"Janku, many thanks for the blessings. Praise to the Iron One!"

He moves to Oleg : "Come with me Oleg, we'll see how we can take advantage of this place for contingencies as we will be away to get the bandits while some may come back and ask questions. We'll weave a nice story for them and find a good and comfortable hiding place for Svetlana."

Diplomacy for Oleg: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (8) + 6 = 14
Stealth for finding a hiding place (can you take 10 or 20 on those?): 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (18) + 8 = 26
Bluff for the story: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (10) + 6 = 16

I had a good roll on my Appraise, so I'll stop Ox if I saw something.

Janku: I use the dice roller but do a preview first to see if I need more. It's pretty much the same as editing, just a little less stressing.

Kal will Detect Evil on the remaining bandit. Does his heart show the same blackness and phantasms of offense that the others did?

Male Human Cleric 1 (Unholy Barrister)

As Gorum's divine energy washes over his wounds, his pain eases as the arrow seems to extract itself on its own. Giving off a sigh of relief, Lukasz stands and stretches his body, testing it for and residual damage, though finding none.

Then moving to join the others in cleaning up the place a little, Lukasz will move over to the blood splatters courtyard as he feels more arcane energy move up to his hands, whispering a short arcane phrase, the energy expands from his hands and passes over the bloody splotches of earth and stone. As it does so, the blood seems to almost lift from the grown and evaporate, almost like it was boiling water. After a minute or two of moving about the courtyard in this manner, Lukasz will then stop and smile as he looks upon a courtyard that does not carry even a trace of blood.

Turning back to group, the sorcerer says, "What else can I help with?"

Caste Prestidigitation to clean up the bloody mess from the battle.

*grumbles at forum monster stealing posts from last night.*
Yeah, previewing works well. Just remember that sometimes it'll show new dicerolls, but if you post after all it'll give you the original rolls. If you really don't like it, go ahead with yours. I just like seeing the rolls in the post.

I'm afraid there's no place like that for bodies, however you could take them a few hundred yards off behind a hill and burry them. It would take several hours but you could watch to the south while doing it.

Oleg surveys the carnage, "My wife will not bolt in a hole like a common mouse. She's been waiting in the house with a healer's kit in case anyone was hurt. For taking a few arrows you lads seem better off then I'd think."

She emerges from the house carrying a basket filled with bandages, ointments, needle and gut. Looking around she gasps, "Are they all...dead? Good, they deserve it." She moves from each of you checking for injuries, "It seems like the holy words have done most of my work for me."

Kalsgrim, Lukasz, and Corso get ointment and bandages applied to their wounds. "There, that'll make sure they don't get infected or tear open again. I'm sure you'll have some nice scars to show the ladies back in Restov."

The trader helps Corso and Ox pick over the bodies, setting what goods are to be found on a tarp in the yard. "Help yourselves to any of their items. What you don't want I'd be glad to take to help replenish my stock." Remember to roll a perception check for hidden items on their persons when you roll the Appraise check to determine item value. Take any items you like, Oleg is a merchant and should have enough gold for purchases in a day or two of trading. Not that they had anything, but just in case later.

"I don't think we need to worry about their friends coming for them today. If it does take a days ride to get back to the camp they'll be expected sometime tonight," Oleg walks over to the captive, strips him of his sword and binds his hands and feet, "My guess is they might get worried and send someone in the morning. I doubt we'll see hide or hair until tomorrow night. You lads should eat and rest today."

He looks over to the bound man cracking his knuckles, "Now, who's going to question him, or shall I..."

Using his holy sight Kalsgrim reveals darkness in this mans heart as well.
