Eadric Cuthwulf |
Thoroughly confused by the dead unicorn and not fully understanding the implications, Eadric follows Torod's lead and leaves the area. He is saddened at the loss of such a magnificent creature however.
Eadrics turns his horse northward to Oleg's along with the others.

Imiria rides along with you and still somehow she seems taller. The scimitar is interesting though you know that she can not possibly use the heavy curved blade considering her stature and strength....
The road is long but eventually Oleg's fort comes into view.
Imiria is also a bit pale over Torod's explination and the stories she remembers of Baba Yaga.......
KenderKin |
Oleg and Svetlana greet you with some exuberance. The trading post looks fine, with many repairs making the place look better than it ever has.
Garric sits in a corner polishing his darkwood bow.
You know that everyone expects tales of your adventures and will likely have some information to share as well.
It has been quiet at the fort, no bandits, no mites, no kobold, and no tatzylworms.....
The temple in the forest is growing as well. A couple of initites are learning from the cleric there.
Eadric Cuthwulf |
I think we need to take stock of our current assets and think about adding some other items to help us in our assault of the fort.
Some curative potions and a means to magically disguise ourselves would be at the top of the list I would suspect.
Some additional firepower would also be prudent... some scrolls or mage touched weapons if we can afford them.
What say the rest of you?
Imiria |
"Garric and I thought we might be able to take supplies ahead and set a camp back a bit from any trouble, that would let you come back and be healed through a hex if need be."
"It has been assumed by several that I can not participate in an actual assault or mission, so I am stuck with the chuck wagon."
"Where is Torod?"
Torod |
After a time of meditation, Torod returns to the trading post.
"Imiria, you have grown quite a bit sense we were last together. What happened?" Torod seems happy and curious about her growth spurt.
Other than a frontal assault or claiming to have goods for sale, I have no ideas. Don't we have a prisoner? Can we ask him what sort of stuff the Stag Lord is looking to trade for?
KenderKin |
After the group heals up and heads towards the raid upon the Staglords fort.
Now for a fun game! playing “Going out West”. For those of you who aren’t familiar with the game, the players run through the letters of the alphabet one at a time and add their own word with the corresponding first letter. The next player has to repeat the previous word(s) and add his own. It’s a memory game. Example: Bobby’s goin’ out west and he’s bringing an apple, Chris is goin’ out west and he’s bringing an apple and a beaver, Jake is goin’ out west and he’s bringing an apple, a beaver, and a clover, etc. It’s quite a challenge by the time you get to the last letters.
So everyone should post and let me know of anything they are taking "out west" that is not on your character sheet at this moment!
KenderKin |
No! Actually I wanted everyone to specify anything they think they might need to face the staglord in his fort.
Since the strategy sessions fell flat and died, I expect if I move the game to the staglord, people will suddenly remember things they could have taken with them, so instead I want to know who/what/when and how you are going after the staglord.....
....before you get there.....
KenderKin |
Admittedly, I have been waiting to see if Ellaria and Obi would be posting and helping with the planning. :/
I also was waiting.....
figured it best to give everyone an opportunity to spell out something rather than a post of you approaching the staglords fort.....
Obi?
KenderKin |
WOW.....
not certain what will happen but.....
The evening comes and in the distance you see the Staglord's Fort
You are camping for the evening and making final plans to approach the fort.....
Torod |
Is Imiria coming with us? I had commented on her growth spurt, but she did not respond.
“It is hard keeping track of who’s part of this bandit brigade so we use a master phrase as a sort of password to get in to the fort on the northeast shore of the Tuskwater. Unless it’s been changed recently, the current phrase is, ‘By the
Bloody Bones of St. Gilmorg, who wants to know?’ And no, I have no idea who ‘St. Gilmorg’ is.”
We got this password, along with the fact that the Stag Lord was a drunk, at the bandit camp. Maybe we can disguise ourselves as bandits and take in the bottles and some trinkets as loot. That would not only get us in, but allow us some ability to move about while inside and become more familiar with the place before launching our attack. We could even wait until everyone is sleep and take a few out before the alarm is sounded.
Imiria |
"Those are great ideas, Obi though might not pass for a bandit!"
She looks up at him and smiles,
"Won't be long till you are looking up at me."
She then looks at Eadric
"I know, I know wait here, in this spot and don't move even if you crawl your bloody carcass to within one foot of me and beg for a bit of healing!"
Imiria |

Torod |
"I'm more worried about Eadric's ability to operate clandestinely than I am Obi's. My plan will require lying at the least and maybe other less than honorable tactics."
Ellaria |
"That plan could work", Ellaria adds, "but I'm not sure I will pass as a bandit. I don't remember seeing any bandit women, except for that one leader we fought right after we arrived here. Even if there are some, they are probably known among other bandits. I propose another plan - we can try to infiltrate the fort at night, especially if we can get an invisibility scroll or potion".
Eadric Cuthwulf |
I'm not sure even invisibility is going to help me enter the fort undetected. Perhaps we can combine the two plans? Some of us enter in the guise of bandits, while other enter through stealth. Maybe even smuggling those who are invisible within the cargo of a wagon?
Can we procure scrolls of magical disguise as well? Will the length of the magic be suitable for such a plan?
Imiria |
"Potions would since yah don't needs tah drink em till it is time, arrivin late, once tha magic ends yah gots darkness."
"I will have to go back to Oleg's, so yall will be here a few days."
I suspect a DM might have you make another choice....
As you stake out the area 2 miles away you encounter what appears to be a group of bandits heading towards the fort...they are walking their horses along the road.....
KenderKin |
Torod approaches the men and heavily laden horses....
They take notice and then one of them says a very strange thing to Torod......
"Be ye a traveler on tha road or a Bretheren?"
Sense motive

Torod |
Sense Motive 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (20) + 3 = 23
"I am no mere traveler, but I am definitely not your brother. I bring the fury of the storm to cleanse this land of banditry and lawlessness." Torod waits for them to make a hostile action then targets the lead one with a Stormburst.

The men not hearing the reply they wanted grab weapons and lunge forwards to surround an at least injure Torod.
The leader avoids the storm burst and throws a net towards Torod

You guys are up!
Eadric Cuthwulf |
Seeing the men attempting to harm Torod, Eadric spurs his horse forward in a furious charge. He thunders in upon the bandits and attempts to drive his lance into the leader...
Ride check (guide with knees): 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8 success
