"Yes, well, I still don't trust that boggard. He'll probably eat you if he has the opportunity. Be careful around him." Torod pauses a moment before continuing. "We met with some kobolds after you left. I thought they might prove helpful in taking care of your silver mine. Again, I don't really trust them, but I figure you will eventually come upon them as you explore the land."

"Yes, I will know them." Torod says (whether or not it's true)
Eadric Cuthwulf
Eadric shakes his head at Torod's assertion that the gold mine belongs to Imiria and that the Sootscale tribe will be responsible, or even participating, in mining it.
I think that we should discuss such matters as a group before making such sweeping, and potentially far reaching, statements.
Didn't Mikmek accompany us back to Oleg's?

There were a few posts after this concerning who had claim to the mine. It was found by Imiria and Torod. Torod ceded his claim to Imiria, who thought of using it as a home. Eadric didn't like that idea, but the subject was allowed to drop in light of the upcoming storm. From what I can tell, though, it is Imiria's gold mine.
"There is nothing to discuss. We found the mine. I relinquished my claim to it, leaving Imiria the only claimant. By your own words, it is hers to do with as she will.
The kobolds are capable miners. They already have a silver mine. Getting them involved in Imiria's Mine just made sense to me as it gives them something to do other than get into mischief.
If you're worried about the money, you can just tax both the kobolds and Imiria when you have founded your kingdom."
Eadric Cuthwulf
There is no way that Eadric would have agreed to the cave being Imiria's... in character conversation or not.
Eadric responds to Torod, There most assuredly is something to discuss. When you say "we" found the mine, I hope that you realize that that includes the rest of us Wardens. "We" four carry the charter, not Imiria. She is a child! She does not "lay claim" to anything that falls within our jurisdiction. When you "find" something, you do so as a member of this group... not as an individual or free lancer. Or do you propose that we are to divvy things up based on who did what, found what or saw what? How do you see that working exactly? We function as a group, or dare I say, we don't function at all.
I am not going to report to Lord Duranos that we found a gold mine but relinquished it into the hands of a child based upon the dubious claim of "she saw it before me". While you may have no interest in such things, that does not give you authority to speak for me or any of the other Wardens... regardless of their feelings in this specific matter.
I have no idea where you get the notion about me founding a kingdom nor do I have any interest in taxing kobolds or Imiria. We have been charted to explore, map and promote lawfulness and security in a designated area of the Greenbelt... anything beyond that is conjecture and speculation. If this area is to be colonized, and we are to play a part in that, then we will cross that bridge, if and when that happens. In the mean time, I will carry out my duties as I understand them.
Eadric pauses, clearly uncomfortable with the decision he is about to make. After a moment to collect his thoughts, he continues, I am loathe to be forced into such action, by a fellow Warden no less, but I hereby lay lawful claim to the mine in question in the name of Brevoy, as Justicar of these lands, as laid out in our rightful charter.
Eadric Cuthwulf
Eadric looks at Imiria incredulously. What in Aroden's ghost are you talking about Imiria? I did not claim your hand! From the moment we happened upon your slain parent's upon the road on our travels to the Greenbelt, I made your rescue and well being my highest priority! I searched for you like you were my own flesh and blood and would have given up my life to secure yours! And would have done so, and would do so again if need be, asking nothing in return! Which is lucky for you, because all I have gotten from you is grief. You are but a child, but unlike one I have ever known. I do not suppose to understand you, I probably never will. But no matter how much you frustrate me,and you do my child, I would never bring harm to you. You must know that...
Torod
"Imiria, the Wardens need to have a discussion in private. If you would please excuse us."
Once she has left Torod continues. "I hope you do not take this as a criticism, Eadric, but you always sound angry when you speak to the girl. What you just said about caring for her and being concerned for her safety and well being was said with force rather than care (you used exclamations). She is a child. A hurt scared child lashing out at authority. What she needs now is understanding not discipline.
Now then; does 'functioning as a group' and 'not speaking for you and the rest of the Wardens' only apply to me? Because your proclimation of 'lawful claim' to the gold mine sounds like you are speaking for the Wardens without consulting us or at least with the others. It makes it seem as though only your opinion matters and that you will use some scribblings on a piece of parchment to assert your right to enforce your will in any way you see fit. I don't totally disagree with you in this matter, Eadric, however, like Imiria noted, you can often come off as a bully.
Oh, and yes, I do think you will eventually claim rulership over this land."
Obi Canicus
Obi leaves the stables as he hears the sounds of what could or could not be arguing. He sees Imiria, Torod, and Eadric talking, and knows they are the source of the possible argument. Not realizing he's slipped into his 'be quiet so you don't get hit' walk, he joins them just after Imiria leaves.

"She's exasperating. I have not seen many adults liking a child that talks down to them. I do not doubt that she is scared.. or that Eadric could have less forceful in telling her he cared.. but we are a a bit high strung." Obi says, shyly giving his opinion.

I think the exclamation mark is getting a bad rap... it is not solely a mark denoting anger. It can be used to indicate strong feelings. In most cases, my use of the ! when Eadric is speaking is not meant to show that he is being loud or angry (for that I would use [bigger][/bigger]) but to show that he is passionate about what he is saying.
Re-read Eadric's comments to Imiria, but this time instead of reading it in an angry tone, read it as if Eadric was genuinely shocked and hurt by Imiria's comments.
And yes, Eadric IS frustrated with Imiria. He is a soldier and paladin, expected to fulfill his duties as such in a wild and dangerous land. While all the time he is constantly being berated for performing his duties, and being misrepresented in these actions, by a child?! I wouldn't allow a child to speak to anyone the way Imiria speaks to Eadric today, let alone in a time when children were expected to "be seen not heard". As Torod has pointed out in the OOC (which is backed up by fact) Eadric is not the one who is bent on killing everything that crosses our path... and yet...
If Imiria is a scared little girl she sure doesn't behave like one... why is she traipsing around the Greenbelt alone, visiting boggards and kobolds?
Anyhow, I'm sure you get my meaning...
Eadric, in a calm and even yet firm tone, ;) replies to Torod, It does not only apply to you. I have laid claim to the mine in the name of Brevoy and the Wardens, so that we can make a decision as a group. I am not laying a personal claim upon the mine. As for opinions, I would be glad to hear everyone's. I desire input from all the Warden's in all matters, but it isn't something that is always given freely, leaving me to act on behalf of what is right and just as laid out by our sponsors and the charter. The charter is hardly "scribblings on a piece of parchment". And if you choose to see it that way then the issue is yours not mine. Why did you agree to the charter in the first place then if that is your opinion?
Torod
Torod smiles. "I am not here because of some charter written by a bureaucrat at the word of some monarch that sits on plush pillow thousands of miles from where I am from. I traveled the length and breadth of the world at the behest of the Power of the World. Your authority comes from the 'rightful and lawful' rulership of the crown of brevoy, mine from the Force that binds all of creation together. As fate would have it, we are here together with what I believe to be similar goals. That is why I agreed to walk the same path as you for a time."
Eadric Cuthwulf
If we can, or should I say, if we can continue to work together, that would please me greatly. We should, from this point forward, endeavor to make all critical decisions as a group whenever possible and practical. I do believe that in the end, we are all looking for much the same outcome as a result of our time here together in the Greenbelt. Regardless of whatever our personal reasons are for being here.
Agreed? Eadric returns Torod's smile and extends his hand...
Imiria
Imiria walks over towards your group, she comes and holds out her hand to Eadric.....
"Do not be mad. You can have tha stinky old hole, I just would like you to ask instead of tell.....it is rude to be bossy and you do it to your friends also."
"You are kind of scary when you get to loud..."
Imiria sheds a tear and walks away...
Ellaria
Ellaria listens to most of the conversation without adding a thing, but after Eadric's words she nods her head and agrees with the things said. Before Imiria arrives, she quietly tells the others: "I don't know a lot about children, but that child obviously isn't an ordinary one. So far we have sided with her, more out of lack of other options than because our will, but I believe we should get to understand what she is exactly before trusting her too much in the future".
Obi Canicus
I would have preferred if Imiria had had a much slower change of heart, but I'm guessing Eadric won't mind too much.
"I think we should learn about ourselves before we do that, Ellaria. Being Wardens seems to be changing us..." Obi says with a strange, otherworldly fire in his eyes. He blinks it away like it was an irritating speck of dust before he pulls out his silver flute.
"You said you liked it when I played, and I was wondering if.. if you'd like to listen again?"
Torod
"Agreed!" See how I used the exclamation to show strong feelings. Torod shakes his hand.
After Imiria walks away after her speech Torod shakes his head in amazement. "Where did she come from? We're going to need a sneak up proof place to have private conversations." ;]
Eadric Cuthwulf
Eadric is likewise startled at Imiria's sudden reappearance. ;) I am not mad my child nor do I wish to scare you... but sometimes tough decisions need to be made, and the choices one makes aren't always popular with everyone. If it pleases you, and everyone, I will endeavor to try and be less bossy in the future.
Eadric watches as Imiria walks away, leaving her to some time away from him.
Eadric heartily shakes Torod's hand while adding to Obi, I'm certain I would like to hear you play... I could use some cheering up.

Obi Canicus
Obi smiles and ducks his head as he finds a nice spot to sit and starts to practice. Once he's gone through a few short and quiet tunes, he starts to play a song he's been working on in his mind.
Perform(Wind Instrument):1d20 + 11 ⇒ (17) + 11 = 28

-----------------------------------
The next day Obi seems to be in better spirits, but that could be the fact he had some of Svetlana's cooking!
Torod
Torod presents Oleg and Svetlana with a bag of coins. "We were able to recover some of the money that was taken from you by the bandits." It contains 200 gold and the bag of dust of illusion. When/If they protest, Torod puts up his hands to stop them, then walks away. He will not take the money back.
Obi Canicus
Ellaria stands silently as Obi plays, obviously enjoying it. After he finishes, she says with a smile, joking, "We could use a bard in our group, you know... It's much more nice to wander around with some music available".
I was seriously considering it because of the new feat Fire Music in Ultimate Magic...
Obi's face reddens at the praise, and he ducks his head to hide it.
"I couldn't be a bard." He replies shyly. "I've no training in the musical magics. I'll play when ever I don't need to hold onto the reins of my pony."
KenderKin
Everyone does realize that you 1. Have store credit and 2. have not ordered anything from Oleg? Just checking.....
Eadric now is determined to ride out full tilt towards the area rumored to contain the staglords fort, even though a bit of forest remains unexplored and granted in the charter a directive to get at the staglod is one he intends to follow, post-haste......
