SpecificallY: I know I could make her a friend with Hope, but I'd rather give actual hope than force it on her. So if a trauma might be in the way and Tenshi's offer to 'free her' fits, then awesome, if not, I'll keep my blood-hope for later. :3

The prepared tags just work. I think you have a few that aren't containment tags which you can determine. What's on this tag, or is it one of the weird ones? Getting in close might be a 'go on the offense' roll, but right now she's distracted. One way or another you've earned a Hit here.

Presuming that a "Standard Working Loadout" might be something that he would have eventually assembled— presumably out of obligation despite his previous disbelief– simple concepts would be the premise of the tags he carried. Say, "Suppression", "Reinforcement", "Marker", and "Misdirection"?

Random tag pull (since he did not have the motivation to memorize which was placed where in his bag) 1d4 ⇒ 3 makes it a "Marker" tag, which would function as a magical highlighter? I'd want to say "laser designator", but he doesn't have that kind of acumen, so it would make her/it more magically "visible" on that "frequency"?

Hmm.. In terms of static concepts, he's definitely going to look into "Amplification", "Interference", and "Barrier". Provided he makes it out of this. "Drain/Leech" is likely beyond him.

Sounds good. Story-wise, I figure the tags might be used as beacons to measure or something, especially if there's someone in the Temple that is corroborating those points with a map or some sort of plotting device.

It's Fall startup, my schedule has been really rough. I have stuff written, but I'm not really satisfied with it.

I've been there. :) Less the 'rough schedule from fall', more the 'not satisfied with what I'm writing'. :)

I get it a lot, to be honest, and it makes it really hard to post. I get stuck on it and feel like maybe I shouldn't post at all. Mostly it's whenever I'm speaking in the 'me-sense' rather than the 'character-sense'. Because it's really easy for me to fool myself into thinking no one wants to hear what I think. Like now. :P

In your interlude, I particularly liked the idea that Perdita wasn't a 'chosen person' by the big bad (I assume the namedrop was the big bad), and that the puzzle-person solved a riddle no one else had seen... hence the scene Tenshi saw in the dream. :S

As a side note, there are two series, one a webcomic, and one a series that just... sort of deadends.

The first is Namesake, which has my all-time favorite Alice in it. If for no other reason than that. :)

The second is the Felix Castor series by Mike Carey. He moved on to other, more lucrative things... but I really liked the series, and continue to hope that he returns to it. It has a wonderful cast of characters and a really neat premise. If I remember right, it's a little slow to take off, though. In particular, you may like some of the ideas it has about the way 'Mediums' work. There's some very real despair in it, though. It may be more accurate for the characters in it to be Templars, rather than normal Mediums though. They use disciplines, sort of. :)

Part of the disconnect lately is a missed a step somewhere with names changing and the action flowing in the way it has.

I mean, Delphic Knight is trying to extend an olive branch and not die in the process, but Kaguya is confusing me, where did Aratani go, and am I overcomplicating all this?

Not a complaint, just trying to figure out what's going on and figuratively drowning in how much is going on (which is AWESOME!) but at the same time I'm really not sure WHAT to do/what my options are without really screwing up some GOOD things that are happening right now.

No problem at all. Thank you for voiceing your confusion so I can try to help. I'm sorry that your perspective has been a little neglected. Shirakawa Aratani (AKA Kiyomi's mother) transforms into Perfect Princess Kaguya (AKA Princess Bubblebunny, AKA the Demon Empress). I've been getting a little sloppy lately with names and who knows whom by what.

A plain summary of actions from Naiad's perspective:

* Tomoyo is in danger.
* On your way to the fight, Khutulun(Kazue) meets up with you, happier and healthier than you've seen her.
* Juno(Kiyomi) zips past in a carriage.
* Tomoyo, Zeek, Juno(Kiyomi) and Kaguya(Aratani) are fighting, Ayatori is watching. In this post, I say Aratani when I mean Ayatori. This happens too often, and I'm so sorry.
* You stop to divert a tsunami.
* Lysander(The Delphic Knight) runs over Kaguya(Aratani) and transforms
* You launch Zeek into the moon.
* Kaguya(Aratani) turns into a RedHots demon using a yokai(djinn) trinket and Brigit's fire dagger, which she got from Tomoyo.
* Tomoyo has Kaguya's bow trinket, and is hiding in Kaguya's limo.
* Khutulun(Kazue) and Pele(Wei) create a barrier which will block 3 more attacks.
* Someone calling himself Tiresias, and a weird guy in green say a bunch of stuff that doesn't make a ton of sense, given your perspective.
* Juno(Kiyomi) leaves through a portal which is still hanging in the air.
* Some people you've never seen before fight Kaguya for a few rounds It's hard to see what's going on through the blades of light
* there is some familiar purple lightning that suggests Solomon(Paresh) is involved.
* The moon is cracked and glowing, but stopped. The sun is still progressing. Noon will come before the total eclipse.

She didn't do so on purpose. Rule 34 of being a villain is 'I will not turn into a giant snake'. She's probably read that particular book, so she knows not to turn into a monster, because being a monster makes it okay to murder you. That's Kazue's doing with teh swords, I think.

Also, I'm just starting to appreciate Aratani's backstory where she wanted to make sure she and her daughter weren't hungry, coinciding with her candy theming, which is contradicted by Kiyomi turning into a magic-eating monstrosity lady that sees all magic as candy.

The only thing I really missed there was the line 'Stick with me and you'll never go hungry again!' :P

She turned into a monster because the flame dagger and her djinn ring are both Yokai trinkets and both fire-aligned, and most of the rest of her trinkets are already super Drained. She's getting upset, which she usually "doesn't do" because Tomoyo stole her Wrath trinket.

Believe it or not, the maw and the bubblegum skin were both rolled Magic Shifts made really early on, but those two points created a very strong theme that a lot of Kiyomi's story hinges on.

I'm going to do everything in my power to time the Eclipse in-game with the on IRL. I can't help that it won't cross Kanto, though.

Awww, thank you. I wasn't sure about it while I was writing it. I've fussed with it for about four days trying to get things right.

The ASCII was done with alternate whitespace characters, mostly n-space.

On that note, I'm totally cool with spending my hope to make any one of the cats who manage to nab the amulet into a newly unlocked character for our Oracle. :P

I really enjoyed catching on to what was going on with Perdita early in Paresh's thing, but didn't really see it at all in the first. I saw very different overtones, and a lot of the lines had a lot of dramatic irony built in once I knew more about her. It was definitely an enjoyable reread. :)

There's not a lot of english stuff for her, so I picked a Disney Song that relates pretty well with Sora. I specifically chose her because I heard her say 'Ano' in an interview. And her 'Ano' sounded right. :)

I just caught up with ep 19 of Girl by Moonlight and am feeling a little creator-y.

So... I'm thinking about making an 'It's Also a Gun' Crewbook for Girl by Moonlight (for RWBY), but I'm afraid I don't know enough about the system to make good decisions... and simultaneously worried that there isn't enough inherent space for something like Semblances to play a major enough role. What are your thoughts on that?

I'm thinking one of the game-changer rules will be that Harm is always treated as a level lower (stacking with Guardian).

I was also looking at Guardian and feeling it was a little underpopulated for abilities and thought of two:

1: At Your Side: When you perform the create a social link action with another character, clear one stress from their sheet. If you Crit, clear one stress from your own sheet as well.

2: Transcendent: Big Mistake: Requires 'You Don't Have to Feel It'. When you take level 2 Harm, you gain potency rather than lose it. When you take level 3 Harm, your actions are performed at +1d instead of -1d.

Thoughts on those?

Ao will have heard what's going on on the other end once he takes an action. The timelines are synced on the splintering of wood.

22 more minutes, here. Work was supposed to provide glasses, but... backed out on Friday. Which super sucks. BUT. My sister's minions (some refer to them as children) have some from school. So I've snuck a few peeks. Even with those pitch black things, it's still bright. :o

It's sort of worth noting that I don't really consider Sora to be a 'Sylph' player, but rather somewhere between Bard and Mage. :) So... take that as a bluff from Tenshi if you'd like. ;)

It's just a little hard to know whether she truly understands situations, or whether she's going to bring ruin to us all by believing she does. :3

I -do- totally view her as a Heart player, though.

My games have been thinning out with the new school year so I caved to boredom and made a MouseGuard game. Bear in mind that this will likely be a faster-paced game than this one has been.

I want to do something in that, but I'm hitting saturation-level at the moment myself between things ramping up and winding down and I don't think it'd be right justice for it.
