Hey guys. I'm here, I don't even know what to tell you but basically my life just keeps getting turned around. I don't want to bring any drama into here so I'll be sparse but I'm in the process of moving out from my place and finding a new job and a lot of other things. I'll try to get through all the posts but it will take me a while. I'm sorry for going MIA like that. I hope I didn't ruin anything.

BastianQuinn |

Would have been awesome to have you with us, but nothing was ruined. You gave me enough heads-up to steer you into a safe corner away from action.
Good to see you're keeping track. Let me know if you need the short version. Might be good for everyone to have a "last time on..." or a mid-season recap.

BastianQuinn |

Yes. Your private echo tunnel is still operational. As long as there is a clear path between the two of you, you have the same call and response mechanics as before. (If, say, a door is in the way, you may have to describe how your tunnel circumvents the door.) Right now, all is clear.

>Your friend ate the attack. One of our brothers may be dispatched to keep an eye on her... One of the junior officers.< With a flick, the man produces a phone and taps out a message.
Yuki looks up from her phone, but, seeing the living doll, can’t find words.
And the reward for "thickest dramatic irony" goes to...

BastianQuinn |

I can't tell if Tenshi is ignoring Lysander's request to detain Emi and take her back to his shady illuminati friends.
I want badly to take advantage, but I'd like to give y'all another chance to keep Emi out of whatever weaning means, just in case the language thing made things unclear.

Sorry for not posting of late, y'all's really loaded things up with boilerplate and it's been hard to focus on my parts I need t' be respondin' to. Will try to wrap my brain around what I've got to get to and get it on done when I get a chance like.

Cloud Watcher Tenshi |

I honestly didn't see it. I'll reread and adjust actions tonight

Cloud Watcher Tenshi |

If you're referring to 'do you mind if I take this one?' I wasn't clear on what he meant exactly. I think, now, that that means taking Emi.
Likewise, the 'take this one for weaning' somehow read as him talking to Emi to me. Even though she ostensibly doesn't speak the language.
I'ma go with 'What does weaning mean', coming prior to Tenshi leaving. I know that isn't really a 'pretty' solution, but I'm soooo tired. So, not leaving yet, still having the conversation.

BastianQuinn |

While I've been stalling for time, I've been writing an end-credits post for day 2. All we need to figure out before then is where Emi, the undine, and Chrysolomon end up. Emi should be okay, but the other two are in critical condition. Alive, stable, but in need of supervision. (Tenshi will have to explain to Naiad her deal with Lysander.)
This will be decided in a scene with Naiad, Tenshi, Lysander, Emi, and Yuki.
So... the question is: Is Naiad ready to get back in the game, or should we hash this out off-screen?

Cloud Watcher Tenshi |

Would that count as a magical compulsion? Because I don't think Tenshi would be willing to push her magic to magically compulse people to do anything but not-murder-each-other... yet, at least. :P

BastianQuinn |

Hope Shifts are not necessarily magical things, but they are strictly not coercive, and in this case especially, using it to make a friend will mean something strictly non-magical will happen between the two of you. What that something is, we'll have to work out. Probably, it'll have to do with shaking his loyalty to the Brotherhood, which you're working on.
Mechanically, it will mean Lysander will never be a source of complication for you, actively align his interests with yours where possible, keep himself available for you to make use of his resources, and work to reduce complications that may arise within his sphere of influence.
In this case, it's an extremely valuable move, but one that may make his life a bit more rough, and may expose him to the complications he's helping reduce, just not right away.

It doesn't feel like the right move, though. I know that it's possible (or at least, believe it is) to enact change with the new organization, as Lysander already suggested it would be, and his portrait suggests he can be trusted. So 'changing' him seems more likely to present problems for him than it solves problems for Tenshi. I'm cool with using it for the sake of drama, but I'm not sure Hope Shifting here accomplishes anything but hurting -real- ties she might be able to make with the Brotherhood.
I know it's a necessity of the genre (and even overused in things like Naruto) to 'Hope Shift' the bad guy by winning the fight, but that doesn't seem to be the case here at all, and doesn't feel like the right call. Unless it's expected to use Hope Shifts to 'grease wheels', I prefer to act out forming bonds in games :)
That... or Hopeshifting eggs into magicmons that act as guardians for people who don't want nuffin to do with magic anymore. :3 Which is sorta the version of making friends I was thinking of.
Bonus points for using it to instead make a certain maid friendly with Tenshi. Because one can never have too much balefire. :)

BastianQuinn |

I totally hear where you're coming from. Mechanics in this game are like a genie's wish. The theme definitely gives greater weight to hard-won relationships.
Putting the "make" in make a friend is totally something that crossed my mind. Full disclosure: I have no plans for the contents of the eggs. One of those maps with blanks. I know what they look like, why the hatch, and why Shvibzik is a black pomeranian.
A certain reunion might help on that last point. There's someone she'd kill to see again.

BastianQuinn |

Is it okay if we cut to credits? I don't want to spend too much more time here trying to wind things down with everyone waiting...
I don't want you to feel bad, Naiad, but at the same time, I can't let things come to a screeching halt like this.
Unless someone has a better idea, Chrysanth and the caterer should probably go to the hospital.
Also, just so I know, could everyone still reading post something so I know where we stand? I've been considering opening for a few slots in recruitment...

Cloud Watcher Tenshi |

I'm still here, just ridiculously tired. :)
I'm good with 'cue end-of-episode/season credits music slowly fading in as we see scenes jumping from place to place'! :P

Closing this scene out is probably for the best--
I'm still struggling with the whole novel-length poses and movement that it's been exceedingly difficult for me to grasp any sort of 'hook' to either continue the discussion or avoid doing either 'run away YET again' or 'pick a fight after everything has been calmed down'.
Naiad would suggest that people get to the hospital for care and strongly recommend that no one get anything chopped off or added on for the time being. Problem is, there's been so much 'talking' that there's no good way for them to respond to the discussion save in the two options seen above, and neither one of those is conducive to group play.
It's nothing to feel 'bad' about, writer's block sucks, especially when there are a lot of gifted writers in a given group.
Someone toss my Muse a candy bar or something, would you?
They're refusing to respond to my texts/email, talk to me either over the phone or in person, and really, really giving me the cold shoulder here.

Cloud Watcher Tenshi |

If you haven't seen it yet, Black Mirror's White Christmas (On Netflix) may be what's going on with your muse. Also, that one's particularly dystopian, IMO.

I've no reason not to accept more folks. Maybe I can lure them to the yarn side.

I completely missed all of these discussion posts because of the bug that made it so you can't see updates on your campaign page. Woops.
I'm still here, obviously, and would be happy to see new blood brought in. I'm still really enjoying this game and would definitely prefer if it did not die out due to lack of membership.

Found a new artist I'd like to share (thanks to Phillip DeFranco).
As for Sympathy for the Devil, like Creep, I just haven't ever heard a cover that came close to the original for being amazing. I'm still looking and still hoping for a lot of my favorite songs to be covered better than the original.

Junpei Sagara |

Can't believe it, or just didn't expect it? With the combination of what he's learned, what he wouldn't have been receptive to in his state at the time, and the prior relationship between them, I could see him doing it very easily.
Man though, that's a loooot of doom from one message. At least it gives an opening to call in our new recruit, so that's a plus.

I literally sat at my keyboard vacillating between maniacal laughter and dread, as I realized how many tumblers that set in motion.
It's good. It just caught me off-guard. It means noon is basically going to be another midnight, and, like, none of you wants to be there. Luckily, you've got Cthulmoon to keep your magic potent outside of a Nightmare?
Hard to conceptualize each character's scope from backstage. I know more than all of the things, and I've only given each of you parts.

Cthulmoon? And why did that sentence end in a question mark?
Still, maniacal laughter is always a good response to a chain reaction like that...or in general.
Claims of insensitivity or questions of your sanity are to be ignored.
I tend to end up being a bit unintentionally risk averse when I'm playing, or rather, averse to deliberately doing things like this, which is a habit I'd really like to break because I don't get to make things blow up in all the wrong (read: right) ways if I do that. So I do kind of love it when I see responses like that when I wasn't expecting them.
Not so much when I manage to confuse myself by forgetting we have a new player when a message to them shows up and trying to figure out what on earth it means, but hey.
I good to keep on with morning routine? I get the feeling I'll get no reply any time soon.

Cloud Watcher Tenshi |

All the Updates, all of them! I actually stayed caught up with it. The ned was... less than desired, compared to Cascade's awesomeness.
Cthulmoon, I'm fairly certain, is the young lady who ate a monster, and then proceeded to eat her mother's moonlight truth magic. And then go home to sleep in a bed next to a trinket that grants control over relationships, while thankfully, being neither hungry, nor a sleep eater. :P Seriously, Bastian put in SO MANY recipes for disaster there... XD
I'll try to get a post up tonight, I'm neck deep in Dark Souls DLC when I'm not doing the work thing (which is about 10 hours a day) or sleeping (which is decidedly less). :)
