Gregori continues his advance.Double move to-O1. Sigh!

Male Half Elf Ranger 3rd

Rhade heads straight for the nearest band of kobolds.

Running along the Q line as far as he can go, by the way is it all difficult terrain? I think Rhade can reach Q +10 this way if it is all difficult terrain otherwise thats the square he's heading for

Yes, everything in the courtyard is considered difficult terrain.

ROUND 2

INITIATIVE:
Father Meghdad 21
Cordelia Crichton 19
Kobolds 16
Gregori Shadowbane 9
Ignacious and the Beatles 7
Rhade 4
Zo 4

"Good work everyone, will have them on the run soon." Meghdad slips through the wall and reloads his crossbow. (Move; reload)

Seeing her companions take out the closest Kobolds, Cordelia moves her way along the wall towards more of the annoying creatures. (Double move)

Now alerted by the fallen member of their tribe of the party's arrival, the kobolds shriek out in near unison, something which sounds suspiciously like "RETREAT!" Almost to a bipedal reptilian they scamper away from their foes, heading for the open front doors of Castle Mistamere. All except for one, who is stuck with a very aggressive celestial fire beetle between himself and the entrance. In desperation he jabs at the northernmost beetle with his spear, not knowing what else to do. The weapon bounces harmlessly off the monstrous insect's touch carapace. (Withdraw actions by all but one; last kobold makes Spear attack hits AC 10, miss; Ready action to move)

Gregori continues his advance. (Double move to-O1. Sigh!)

Ignacious hustles to get to the wall opening, wheezing as he goes from the exertion. (Double move)

The middle beetle moves toward the remaining kobold, lashing out with its blinding mandibles, but the small reptilian creature barely ducks under the attack. Sadly the northern beetle is still behind the kobold, and while the kobold is being distracted, the summoned creature inflicts a deadly would upon it. The kobold tumbles to the ground, dark blood seeping into the rocky ground. The last beetle skitters off in pursuit of the fleeing kobolds. Just as it is about to reach them, however, it, and the two other summoned beetles disappear in a puff of white smoke, their brief moment of summoned life spent. (Middle beetle moves; attack the flanked kobold: 1d20+5=14, miss; North beetle will attack the now flanked kobold in front of it: 1d20+5=16, hit! Damage 2d4+2=10, kobold is dying; Southern beetle double moves)

Rhade heads straight for the nearest band of kobolds. (Double move)

Zo quickly draws a new bolt and reloads her crossbow. Seeing that the magical beetles seem to have the kobolds at the other end of the courtyard in hand for the moment, she decides to save her ammunition. Still on her guard, she carefully moves a few steps closer to the remaining kobolds and the inner gate. (Reload, move action)

END OF ROUND 2 COMBAT MAP

Female Human (Kelishite) Celestial Sorceress 3

Seeing most of the Kobolds lying on the ground dead or dying, Cordelia smiles and steps forward to meet the last pair, both her Scimiat hand and her free hand twirling before her, although both for different reasons.
Suddenly a bolt of divine fire shoots from her bare hand to strike the nearest Kobold in the chest.
Heavenly Fire Ranged Touch Attack. (1d20+3+1=20)
Heavenly Fire Damage. (1d6+1=5)
Move to -P6 and then Heavenly Fire the nearest Kobold (in -S8)

Father Meghdad fires his crossbow at a fleeing Kolbold and then quickly reloads.

Shoot at the Kolbold in 8;-T, move action to reload

Attack roll (w/bless) (1d20+4=12)

Damage (1d8=3)

Ignacious will double move to -P-2. Once there he will beam proudly at the work his summoned "children" did in slaying so many kobolds.

Rhade heads for and attacks the nearest Kobold and misses...

ROUND 3

INITIATIVE:
Father Meghdad 21
Cordelia Crichton 19
Kobolds 16
Gregori Shadowbane 9
Ignacious and the Beatles 7
Rhade 4
Zo 4

Father Meghdad fires his crossbow at a fleeing Kolbold and then quickly reloads. His crossbow fires wildly and is unable to find its mark. (Shoot at the Kolbold in 8;-T, move action to reload; Attack roll (w/bless) (1d20+4=12), miss)

Seeing most of the Kobolds lying on the ground dead or dying, Cordelia smiles and steps forward to meet the last pair, both her scimitar hand and her free hand twirling before her, although both for different reasons.
Suddenly a bolt of divine fire shoots from her bare hand to strike the nearest Kobold in the chest, hitting him squarely. The creature cries out in pain as the fire seems to consume his body from within and he falls to the ground. (Heavenly Fire Ranged Touch Attack (1d20+3+1=20), hit! Heavenly Fire Damage. (1d6+1=5)

The two remaining kobolds dash for the open door of the castle, one of them seriously wounded from his encounter with the celestial fire beetles and therefore much slower (He's Disabled). Because of this, he is the only remaining visible kobold still standing. (Double move actions)

Gregori continues picking his way over the broken rubble toward the front door of the Castle, and the sole remaining kobold. (Double move)

Ignacious carefully makes his way through the broken stone and masonry and into the courtyard. Once there he beams proudly at the work his summoned "children" did in slaying so many kobolds. (Double move)

Rhade, denied a target by his retreating enemies, moves steadily toward the one remaining humanoid. (Double move)

Zo takes a few careful steps and fires her crossbow at the retreating kobold, but the bolt ricochets off the castle wall behind her target. (Move action; crossbow attack 3+6-4(cover)=5, miss)

Looking around the rubble-strewn courtyard, you see the bodies of eight dead or dying red-scaled kobolds, most of them still clutching their slings and spears with which they had hoped to defend their home. The sole remaining standing one is limping away, still hoping in vain to avoid the fate of his companions.

COMBAT MAP ROUND 4

Female Human (Kelishite) Celestial Sorceress 3

Seeing the fleeing creatures about to escape, Cordelia hurries forward and attempts to blast one of the creatures before it can do so.
Heavenly Fire (Ranged Touch Attack) at fleeing Kobold. (1d20+3+1=11)
Heavenly Fire Damage. (1d6+1=5)

In the interest of finishing off this combat, I am switching to giving y'all results individually for your stated combat actions.

The bolt misses the limping kobold, flying off into the open entry hall of the castle.

Seeing the crippled kobold's attempt to flee, Zo calls out, "Rhade! Can you take it alive? Maybe it can tell us about Bargle."

Male Half Elf Ranger 3rd

Rhade chases the last remaining kobold intending to try and take it alive

Rhade rushes northwards Through w,8 after the kobold and yes I sense there's going to be trouble...

So any penalties for using the butt of his weapons to knock the kobold unconscious rather than kill it? Longsword rolled a total of 11 and the dagger rolled a total of 14 barring any penalties for trying to do subdual damage

Male Half Elf Ranger 3rd

Sorry should have specified the one attack as Rhade is chasing after the kobold (forgot the 5' move rule again!) anyway that means the longsword butt attack very likely missed...

Rhade wrote:

The kobold also gets to move before you, which means that it will be farther away. Even though it can only take one move action, due to being disabled, it will get too far away for you to attack (since you can't charge over difficult terrain). You'll want to revise your action. Sorry.

Meghdad shoots and reloads again saying. "We got to stop him, if he dies will just have to bring him back to answer our questions."

Attack Roll (w/bless) (1d20+4=12) Damage Roll (1d8=4)

Fire Cross bow and reload as move action

ROUND 4

INITIATIVE:
Father Meghdad 21
Cordelia Crichton 19
Kobolds 16
Gregori Shadowbane 9
Ignacious and the Beatles 7
Rhade 4
Zo 4

Meghdad shoots and reloads again saying. "We got to stop him, if he dies will just have to bring him back to answer our questions." Even though he takes good aim, the Father's shot goes wild. (Attack Roll (w/bless) (1d20+4-2(range increment)=10), miss; reload as move action)

Seeing the fleeing creatures about to escape, Cordelia hurries forward and attempts to blast one of the creatures before it can do so. Sadly her bolt only impacts with the castle wall, harmlessly dissipating. (Move action; Heavenly Fire (Ranged Touch Attack) at fleeing Kobold (1d20+3+1=11), miss)

Nearly scared out of his mind, the half-dead kobold straggler limps through the double doors of the castle's entrance. He moves in about 20 feet and then disappears around a corner to the left, and out of sight.

Since there are no visible (moving) enemies I am taking you out of strict combat time. Please be aware that beyond the entrance room of the castle it is quite dark, so if you want to follow the kobold and not keep on running into stuff, you'll have to bring along a light source. Time to regroup and coordinate, mayhaps?

All of you now stand in the rubble-strewn courtyard of Castle Mistamere, the bodies of eight dead or dying red-scaled kobolds around you. Before you is the ruin of the castle, a formerly multi-story structure, which has collapsed into a single level. The only entrance to the keep that you have seen are the open main doors made of rotting wood and rusty hinges facing you. None of you have been around either side of the castle, however. The back of Mistamere is built against the side of the canyon wall, whose top towers about 100 feet above you.

Diffuse sunlight lets you see into the first room of the castle, which seems to be an empty rectangular chamber 20 feet in width and 15 feet in depth. From where Rhade (who is currently the closest) is standing, it seems that the room has at least one exit: an open door straight ahead (to the north), through which the kobold fled.

Rhade pauses to sheath his off hand weapon and draw forth a torch so that by the time the others reach him he'll be ready to move inside and the torch lit.

Zo sees the halfling standing near the hole in the wall. "Nice work, Iggie," she calls appreciatively. "If we make it back to town, I may even reimburse you for that scroll." She surveys the kobold-strewn courtyard. "One kobold was the leader," she says thoughtfully. "It may have a key, a map, something that could be of use to us. Or are we in a hurry to get after the two that got away?" She looks round at the group inquiringly.

"Well they're probably going to warn the rest of the castle about us, but stumbling in there blindly will probably get us attacked by traps and sneaky Kobolds, so I say we search these ones out here before proceeding cautiously inside."

She looks around the courtyard. "Rhade, you keep watch by the door while we search, then once we're done, you and Zo can lead us in."
She begins to seach the bodies with the others, using Detect Magic on each body as she goes.

Zo carefully crosses the rubble-strewn courtyard to the castle door. She looks around to see if she can find the crossbow bolt that ricocheted off the wall or if it was destroyed.

Perception (1d20+6=11)

While the others search the dead kobolds, she decides to take a look around the corners of the castle for any other entrances.

At this point, she's just going to peer around the corners for any obvious doors or windows; she's not going to separate from the party to do an intensive search.

The groups searches around the courtyard, but fails to find anything of real value. Each of the kobolds carried a spear and a sling with sling bullets. A few also carried special sling bullets which obviously have some other purpose. None of them are magical. Each of the kobolds carried a small pouch, containg a total of 32 cp, all of it Korvosan in origin.

Zo looks around the eastern and western sides of the castle, but does not detect any doors or windows, only crumbling masonry.

Female Human (Varisian) Rogue 3 | hp 14/21 | AC: 17 (14 touch, 13 ff) CMD 13 | Fort +1 Ref +8 Will +1 | Perception +6 | Init +8 | Attack of Opportunity +6

Zo sighs. "Looks like the obvious way in is the only way in." She begins to examine the doorway and stones of the entry hall. Under her breath, she mumbles, "The kobolds came through unscathed, but there could still be a pressure plate attuned to a heavier creature or traps above their head level."

Perception (1d20+6=15)

Putting his crossbow away Meghdad walks among the Kolbolds checking to see if any are playing possum or if any of them are still breathing but unconcious. He keeps his scimitar at the ready and alert for any tricks they might try to pull.

Checking to see if any are not dead but dying with -hp. If he finds one he will use his skills as a healer to stabalize the creature then bind it as a prisoner.
Rolls for completing this:
Perception (1d20+3=6) Heal (1d20+10=11)

Before venturing inside the Castle, Cordelia asks, "is anyone in need of any healing? We should conserve Father Meghdad's Holy Power, but I have small amount of Sarenrae's Divine Fire I can use to Heal you with."

Except for Zo and Ignacious. Sorry guys, but you're Neutral...

Rhade nods back.

Perception/sight or sound +9: Roll 1d20+9:5+9 for Total of 14 or 16 if it involves kobolds

Zo carefully checks the entryway for traps, but fails to find any hidden dangers.

Father Meghdad is able to find two kobolds who are barely clinging on to life. Working quickly, he binds their wounds to stop the worst of the bleeding. Although he misses a major arterial bleed the first time he checks the kobold over, he eventually stabilizes both (Taking 10). When he is assured that both will survive, he binds them, which is quite easy since they are both still unconscious (and also at negative hp).

Rhade keeps a close lookout down the dark corridors of Castle Mistamere, in case any creatures decides to surprise the group, but does not hear or see any activity.

"I've found a few live ones. I say we find out what lies beyond the castle doors before we go in uninvited." Meghdad kneels next to the lesser wounded of the two kolbolds and places one hand firmly on the injury and the other over the creatures eyes, "Rememdium lux lucis vulnus." The priest channels the healing power of Sarenrae into the creature. When the kolbold stirs he calmly states, "Easy dog, your bound as my prisoner and you will tell us what we want to know. Otherwise, will throw you back to Bargle!"

healed damage (1d8+3=5)

That will require either a Diplomacy or an Intimidate check, Father Meghdad. Or anyone else for that matter.

Ignacious will walk over to the bound kobolds and attempt to aid in the intimidation/diplomacy.

"Of course we are quite sorry about killing your friends. Normally this lot only kills for noble purposes, like money and personal gain, but today is a bit different. Today we're out to kill a wizard, name of Bargle? Heard of him, have we? You just happened to be in the way. Bad luck, I suppose. Now, if you help us, we'll let you, go minus your weapons of course. Can't have you swinging about to stab us in the backs, can we? No, of course not. But what we can do is give you a chance at a new life, and I daresay, after we eliminate Bargle, this place is of no particular real estate value to us. I mean, look at the foundation! Crumbling! That lowers property values right there and then you've got infestations, no offense intended. So talk to the nice white haired gentlemen and we'll leave you alone, okay?"

I don't know if that qualifies as intimidation or diplomacy, but the roll's the same either way: 1d20+1=2

The roll must have been for Diplomacy, because that last statement was your Intimidate Check. ;)

Cordelia sheathe her Scimitar and comes over to the Kobolds. She holds up her non-gauntleted hand and suddenly it is enveloped in the Heavenly Fire of Sarenrae.
"Ad of course I'd hate to have to bring the cleansing Fires of Sarenrae to bear on you. Just tell the nice man what he wants to know and everything will be alright."
Intimidate Check. (1d20+3=11)
How funny would it be if the Kobolds don't even speak Common and all they hear is "blah, blah, yap, jip, dop, carp, dool". LMAO

The kobold struggles pitifully against his bonds. When it is obvious he can't escape he seems to listen to Ignacious. Although he doesn't seem moved by what the halfling is saying, he gives a quick, barking laugh when he is done, "Hehehk! Bigfoot is nothing, blackeyes! Goldfever dies when you meet true-trueblood! Run-run you will then, oh yes, run-run you will, eggsuckers."
