For those identifying, here's the things that still need identifying.

*long, twisted rod of fused red-hot metal and bone. Part of the bone is slightly cooler and safe to touch, forming a handle
*golden ring featuring a piece of highly reflective crystal
*smenk's mithral dagger
*Smenk's masterwork studded leather armor
*Smenk's S-shaped wand of willow wood
*masterwork chain shirts
*Myrianaas's mace
*weathered and tarnished bronze figurine of a proud-looking griffon
*jar of "Whispers of the Soon-To-Be Dead"
*a stuffed doll pierced with no fewer than twenty long dark barbs - resembles Eben
*4-inch-thick tome wrapped in chains
*golden talisman etched with markings depicting different types of fungi

golden ring featuring a piece of highly reflective crystal - ring of protection +1
ring crafted out of pumice - feather fall ring
cloak woven with Smenk's symbol in gold threads - cloak of resistance +1
silver ring engraved with images of shields - ring or protection +1
weathered and tarnished bronze figurine of a proud-looking griffon - Bronze Griffon Figurine of Wondrous Power
Greatsword +2. It has been crafted masterfully, and the dull steel is streaked with what seem to be unpolished garnets
golden talisman etched with markings depicting different types of fungi - periapt of health
Elsaroth's adamantine dagger
hollow mithral tube about one foot long - chime of opening

I thinking we should move the adamantine dagger and chime of opening to party loot. They're situational but useful enough to keep around.

Agreed on the Chime and dagger.

I want the silver Ring of Protection +1 with the shields on it, sounds cool. We can add my plain, unadorned Ring of Protection +1 to the party loot in compensation.

The Bronze Griffon would be iffy to justify the price for in the best case, but seeing as we have a Summoner, it's even more so. I suggest selling it.

RPG Superstar 2010 Top 32, 2011 Top 4

But having a pet griffon would be SO COOL. Not that I can afford it, just saying. :-)

I don't see Strahd included on the list; did you already factor the 10K from that in?

I have my eye on the feather fall ring, but if anyone else wants it I'll defer to them. (I could stand to start saving my money.)

I need a cloak of resistance sooner or later, but ick, it's Smenk-themed. Screw that...

And lastly, I'll pay the 50 gp to hold onto the Eben doll. That thing has me paranoid as s&%&, and Eben will be keeping it on his person at all times, no matter how many identifying PCs and NPCs reassure me that it's harmless now.

Male Human Monk 5 (Qinggong Master of Many Styles from the Sacred Mountain)/Fighter (Brawler) 3

Would it make you feel better if, if I die, I bring in a TWFing Drow with a Figurine of Wondrous Power and Companion Figurine as compensation?

I mean, I won't do it, but the idea's there.

The Half-Fiend Panther, actually.

If a fiendish panther would have a reddish tone, would a half-fiend panther be pink?

Sorry, I meant Griffon.

@Tanith: Remember you can also Kick, headbutt, knee, or elbow. You can use the Greatsword for main attacks and unarmed strikes if you get grappled or Disarmed or whatever.

Would Eben or Rodrigo consider picking up the periapt? Everyone else has pretty good Fort saves.

So, how about that Pathfinder Unchained? I'm pretty excited about rogue, though I doubt it'll affect this game overmuch (unless someone ends up wanting to multiclass).

Blog wrote:
Rogue: The original rogue has plenty of skill points and a damage increase in the form of sneak attack, but she needed a way to rule her own niche, especially with all the other classes that have things like big skill bonuses and accuracy boosts. The unchained rogue has a powerful debilitation ability that dramatically alters her ability to hit or dodge her foe, rogue's edge, which allows her to do unique things with her favorite skills (figure out surface thoughts with Sense Motive, Bluff so well you bypass truth-telling magic, use Disable Device reactively to protect yourself from a triggered trap, and much more!), and a significant boost to some of her rogue talents (For instance, minor magic? Yeah, you get that cantrip at-will). She also gets Weapon Finesse as a bonus feat and the ability to add her Dexterity to weapon damage!

Rogues are the biggest victim of what people call "power creep" out there. Everybody has the rogue's abilities now. So I'm pretty psyched that they finally get to catch up. Not everything in Unchained will make it into this game, obviously, but the new rogue almost definitely will.

Male Human Monk 5 (Qinggong Master of Many Styles from the Sacred Mountain)/Fighter (Brawler) 3

Interested in the new Monk, of course, and maybe the Rogue. Some of the other stuff seems interesting.

Still not going to spend money on it until I hear a deluge of really good reviews, and maybe not even then. I don't trust Paizo hype any more.

Female Kobold

I will say this: It'll be nice to have closer-matching options for 3.5 to Pathfinder conversions. If rogues can be made viable, it makes a lot of NPCs easier to convert and keep competent.

I always wait to see the Reference Document before I decide to purchase something. The Monster Codex is on my to-buy list for that reason, while the Advanced Class Guide probably ain't.

I'm all for older classes getting revamps. I just don't like the fact that Paizo's design usually consists of making things drastically overpowered or useless and broken. Very rarely does new content come out that leaves me feeling like they nailed it.

Male Human Monk 5 (Qinggong Master of Many Styles from the Sacred Mountain)/Fighter (Brawler) 3

"Drastically overpowered" is incredibly rare. I'll give you useless and broken (both moreso lately that Owen KC Stephens has become a full-time employee...), but I'm confused as to what you think has come out lately (in a core line book) that's super OP.

I'd rather not have that conversation. It should be pretty clear by now that we have very different expectations of what's the standard level of power.

Male Human Monk 5 (Qinggong Master of Many Styles from the Sacred Mountain)/Fighter (Brawler) 3

You're no fun.

I'm honestly curious as to where you draw that line.

There's things you're fine with (like Godlings) that make me think your expectations are really high power games. But you've never really defined that.
