If there's an extra 380cr from the Lashunta Gang members, I'm going to buy an extra 6 batteries. Seven if noone minds me buying the two laser pistols taking the batteries out and dumping the guns in a recycler.

Regarding the Skill Set spreadsheet that Diedre set up:
I notice that Irhok'zath has +5 stealth indicated. I also noticed that I failed to update Miraj's stealth score. At last level up, he took a rank in survival, which boosted his skill up to +7.
Miraj also has Life Science +7 and Physical Science +7.

I recently changed Miraj's icon to represent his appearance as that of an elf, but I don't like the pale, sullen look of that icon. So I've changed it to something that is not necessarily an elf, but he could have pointy ears under his long hair. Looks more like I think of Miraj. So he hasn't changed his appearance with his holoskin, just trying to represent him more as I see him in my mind's eye.

Great work on "The Ukulam Expedition" tracker on slide 3!

Thanks! The ability to make little custom graphics like this that pull all that sweet art from the books is one of my favorite things about PbP games.

That came up because I've seen npc groups in other games treat any inter-racial "activities" as exactly that. Half-elves and other similar hybrid races are shunned or worse.
So I thought it would be a perfect statement for her, imagining that there are probably similar political or religious groups within the Pact Worlds that have the same beliefs.
It can be established through digital evidence that Diedre has no such reservations.

“Take your comm units and be ready to take commemorative pictures!"
I'll point it out again just because it seems silly to me as well, but comm units, RAW, don't come with cameras.
And for those that have heard me say that over and over again, I won't mention it again here.
Irhok'zath
Well, it costs 10 credits to add one to it...

I was looking at Miraj's holoskin for ideas on how it may be used in the current situation evading the Yaruks. I realized I have not been factoring the battery usage. I have been assuming it has been maintaining a disguise more or less all the time, but that would be impractical, since a standard battery would only keep it going for about 3 hours.
I can ret-con this by saying he only used it when in public and supplemented it with mundane disguise elements the rest of the time. He would maintain his elf disguise just until out of sight of the escort to the wilderness, then he'd let it lapse and resume his normal appearance.
I'll continue to use the current icon, as I think it matches his demeanor and general appearance. His skin would be tan and he'd have the Triaxus ears.
That said, if he spent a round adjusting the holoskin, could he create something to match the surroundings and give himself a bonus on stealth?

I don't think Miraj will have the time to sit down and reprogram his holoskin, since using the Disguise skill to change your appearance (via a holoskin or otherwise) typically takes 1d3x10 minutes. If you did have the time, however, I would think the holoskin totally allows you to disguise yourself as a Miraj-shaped plant without changing the DC of the check.

Getting my heat pump replaced tomorrow and my ducts cleaned. I'm spending today cleaning my house and tomorrow dealing with that. I'm not sure if I'll be able to check in again. Don't hesitate to bot me if needed.

For a hot second there I thought you were talking about a medical procedure.
I'm, uh, very glad to be wrong, 'cause that sounds like a doozy.
Laurenzia "Lauren" Th'Chenta
I could probably stand to have my ducts cleaned if that were a medical procedure that existed.

As a quick question, which of the two Kaukariki are the ones that have already been damaged?

Block 2: Stingbats (S1 -6 HP; S2 -4 HP; S3; S4; S5; S6)
They are both attacking me, though I'm hopping S1 is gone...
GM Jimbles
The two stingbats injured by Lauren's magic missile were part of the four that attacked Irhok'zath, and yeah, it looks like S1 may have already bit the dust - we'll find out soon.
That’s actually -21 SP (or -18 SP, if she killed SB1) and -4 HP (or -3 HP), from the poison
”the victim loses a number of Hit Points equal to the poison’s DC – 10” from the CRB
It is -21 SP (-18, since I forgot pikes have reach); that was just a typo. As for the second bit, I just straight up forgot to add that to the pile of potentially terrible things Irhok'zath was suffering, so thanks!

Happy to be of service, haha
I have this image of all stingbats she kills being pierced through her pike and remaining hanging on the shaft while she attacks the others...

Somehow, I had completely missed reading the part of the post where that was mentioned. Oops.

I had a bit of a busy weekend - hoping to get caught up tomorrow.
Laurenzia "Lauren" Th'Chenta
Apologies all around for my lack of activity lately. It's been a very rough year for me, I'm mildly depressed, and I've been escaping by binge watching TV and playing a crap tonne of Stellaris. It's unhealthy and self-medicating and is basically just me trying to avoid dealing with stuff I can't really do anything about anyway. I'm going to try to be better about checking in at least once a day, but if there is something critical that you need me to do and I'm holding up the story, my feelings won't be hurt if you need to bot me or something.
Miraj Pavana
Sorry to hear this. Hope things improve. If you have the means, I'd encourage you to get professional help. Depression is an illness and it should be treated if it persists and interferes with normal life. We will be here to provide what help escape into FRP can offer.
Laurenzia "Lauren" Th'Chenta
Thank you for the support.
GM Jimbles
I heartily echo what Miraj said. It worked for me when I was in a very similar place. Also, don't fret about trying to maintain a perfect posting rate - if we get into a spot where we're waitin' on ya I won't hesitate to bot, but outside of combat you've got some narratively strong party members here to pick up the slack.
GM Jimbles
FYI, I'm about to head into the woods for a week of camping with the family. I'll pick up the saga of the Ukulam expedition next weekend, but until then, feel free to chat amongst yourselves.

Watch out for carnivorous plants!
GM Jimbles
I made it back from the woods, totally intact and not at all munched on by carnivorous plants. I wish I could say the same for y'all, buuuut, well... you'll see.
Laurenzia "Lauren" Th'Chenta
On Castrovel, it's always a good day when you don't get eaten by plants.

Lashuntas weigh about 140-180 lbs. Assuming devourers cultists don't care about their nutrition and this one was left behind without food, say she's 140. That's 14 bulk worth of useless cultist. I can carry 12 more bulk and still be only encumbered, so I’d need someone to carry my pike (2 bulk) so I can carry her alone and only reduce my speed to 25. If I also remove my armor, I’m at 30 ft.
Or we can improvise a hammock or stretcher to carry her, I can hold one side, other two or three characters (we can probably make some contraption with cable lines) hold the other.
I would agree with Irhok'zath's reasoning here; whatever you guys settle on will probably work.
As an aside, Miraj's Medicine checks really did mean the difference between life and death for her last night. I still wouldn't bet on her making it out of the jungle alive, but her odds have improved significantly, thanks to Dr. Pavana and Therapist Lhashi.

Given Miraj's past, where he had to do things he hated that hurt innocent people just to protect his own family, he is very grateful to be able to do things to save people in trouble.

I should probably mention that I have a PhD in Social Ethics, so I find these in-character discussions to be very interesting. If I had kids, I would raise them with RP games in part just to help them think through what makes an action or a person right or wrong. Does a good end justify torture? Are some people irredeemably evil?
There has even been some articles on line about the 5th Ed. D&D making changes to orcs, trying to elevate them from combat fodder that can be killed with impunity because they're, you know, just orcs, to beings that are a little more complex and capable of good or evil or at least redemption.
Irhok'zath
For a while I thought you were working on an angle, trying to gain the cultist's trust to get information - but you are actually warming up to her.
That's like trying to make friends with a death cult, only these guys would cause nightmares in death cultists. And this isn't even a defector, she stayed behind only because of the disease.
I'm really curious to see how this new dynamic develops!

I had hoped that I could flesh out Ralkawi's character enough to cast the nihilistic death cultists as somewhat more interesting than generic CE peons, but it seems that you guys have done the heavy lifting for me! This conversation has been a very fun one to read; this is one of the reasons why I haven't been fast-forwarding from encounter to encounter.
