Tis ok. Usually long pieces of descriptive scenes involve me having to imagine the scene in my mind, then finding the words for it then writing it out and its all the attention to details you need to pay since you're "painting" the scene with words.
Since we're talking about funerals, how about Father Noelan's as well since this is an as good place as any to bury him. The townsfolk have been carrying his body since the fall of Phaendar. Gentle reposed of course else it'd stink.
Ratel Dier
hey, just wanted to inform you all,
I'm sorry I'm not super chatty in game. I'm dealing with some stress from work, so my mind is elsewhere. However I am reading along and will occasionally comment.
Ratel Dier
Might want to just chill and relax and slow down on this part, then.
Don't slow down for my benefit, I'm ok with Ratel being the 'strong silent' type every now and then.
Between dealing with crap at work and my head not being in 'story mode' right now, it's ok ...
Ratel Dier
sorry about the off-timing of the post in game, like I said, a distracting evening at best...yeah, this was supposed to be my day off... working six week because of understaffing.
GM Mort
There's actually an option on this part to suggest to Cavall twhat form he appears in, it has to be dawg/wolf.
GM Mort
Then you might want to suggest to him with regards to forms. Because once the choice is made it can't be undone. Mind that wolves get large at 7,so there may be space constraints.

Just to confirm, will he retain the other features of [REDACTED], apart from the ones he is explicitly listed as losing? Is it *any* canine form, or just what you would get off Beast Shape (I assume the latter, but figured I would check). Does he retain his own hit dice, or should we pick a form that has a reasonable chance of surviving (as opposed to a generic dog, which would not)?
GM Mort
Pick an animal companion form that he'll end up with, it has to be wolf or dog. Or wolf dog or whatever that sounds cannineish on the basic druid animal companion list. Clearly no worgs or goblin dogs because Cavall has standards.
He advances as an animal companion. Since at the end of the day, Father Noelan is an animal domain cleric.
GM Mort
Actually no archetypes. Though Auspice sounds nice.
Yes Hedran but some of the his abilities function like the paladins bonded mount.
Once per day, as a full-round action, Father Noelan may magically call Cavall to his side. This ability is the equivalent of a spell of a level equal to one-third the cleric's level. Cavall immediately appears adjacent to the paladin. Father Noelan can use this ability once per day at 5th level, and one additional time per day for every 4 levels thereafter, for a total of four times per day at 17th level.
At 11th level, Cavall gains the celestial creature simple template and becomes a magical beast for the purposes of determining which spells affect him.
At 15th level, Cavall gains spell resistance equal to Father Noelan’s level + 11.
Should Cavall die, Father Noelan may not summon him for 30 days or until he gains a cleric level, whichever comes first. During this 30-day period, Father Noelan takes a –1 penalty on attack and weapon damage rolls.
GM Mort
Father Noelan and Cavall's stat blocks have been placed:
Because I'll likely have to reference them for purposes of combat.
Also Grenwold, because you just came into game, I didn't really have the time to read your backstory in details, and see what I could put in. Sorry. I'll start incorporating your backstory into campaign now.

That’s okay! His background fits okay too as he was introduced. He was in the woods during the attack and missed the commotion, and wasn’t able to go back into town for anything to check. He’s reacted to the situation as I thought he would - he can’t find out who survived and who didn’t, he figures that if the refugees could’ve gotten his family out they would’ve, and if they have been killed, it was basically a matter of time and is a better fate than the Darkblight.
He hasn’t brought this up to the other party members because he knows almost any attack on Phaendar would be suicidal - even a potential rescue mission. So he’s letting fate play out as it will. He’s a little fatalistic but doesn’t bring this attitude up much because he has the wisdom to know this (and endless gnomish prattling) off-put most people.

Offtopic: Guys, a question off any topic here, because it has come up in a game of mine - when running with Medium armor, does the Tiefling racial Fiendish Sprinter add +10' to the total movement, or +40'?
This page says a 10 foot bonus to charge, run, or withdraw actions.

Good choices! Brew potion is good to have for NPCs, as potions can be used by the other NPCs.

*nods*
The Adept spell list is fairly limited, but there are a few things that can be made into potions:
1st:
CLW, Endure Elements, Protection From Evil
----------------------------------
(Obviously, these are the only ones that Rhyna can make for the moment, but at higher levels, there are also...)
2nd:
Aid, Bear's Endureance, Bull's Strength, Cat's Grace, CMW, Darkness, Delay Poison, Invisibility, Resist Energy
3rd:
CSW, Daylight, Deeper Darkness, Neutralise Poison, Remove Curse, Remove Disease, Tongues
GM Mort
Veld does but neither Veld nor Rhyna will actually join you adventuring. Veld saying she's too old for this sh*t and Rhyna is pretty much a pacifist.
GM Mort
For crafting feats, the crafter does not have to provide the spell. For example if the crafting requirement for an item was blessing of fervor, the wizard with craft wondrous could ask his cleric friend to provide. If it is different in 3.5 we'll, I'm explaining now.
GM Mort
A spell prerequisite may be provided by a character who has prepared the spell (or who knows the spell, in the case of a sorcerer or bard), or through the use of a spell completion or spell trigger magic item or a spell-like ability that produces the desired spell effect. For each day that passes in the creation process, the creator must expend one spell completion item or one charge from a spell trigger item if either of those objects is used to supply a prerequisite.

Re: Crafting, it is worth noting that Brew Potion is a specific exception to the rule that someone else can help with the casting (or that you can ignore a spell prerequisite by increasing the DC) - the person making the potion explicitly *must* have the spell required prepared (which is why I haven't been making any in my spare time).

Kinda but debrief meeting in 30. Go Firewarden me!
And I'm am @ss for forgetting to bring down the Company signpost as a rally point during the drill.
GM Mort
Nah most companies don't either, but we take it as a point of pride to do so, because we go the extra mile. Anyway after, it's lunch with colleague so afk part 2.

At the end of Day 9 (when we end the day with 25 goats), Sandra and Tolman will switch across to Herd Tending, at which point we go down to generating two more goats thereafter, per day.
At the end of Day 15, Daniel will have finished crafting bedrolls for everyone.
At the end of Day 13 (when we end the day with 33 goats), Bella and Danny will switch across to Herd Tending, at which point we go down to generating one more goat thereafter, per day.
At the end of Day 20, (when we have 40 goats), we stop looking for more, and Victor will switch to another task (most likely, moving back to being a potter, to generate household goods for people).
At the end of Day 20, we will (effectively) be generating 54 provision points per day, if everyone continues what they are currently doing; however, since we only need 51, we can re-allocate (by that point) several people to other tasks - I would suggest Thomas (Blacksmith), Rhyna (?Crafting), and Kinning (Smith).
GM Mort
Tara - Human Warrior 1 - Best Skill: Survival +5 - Task: Forage (2 provision points per day) - should be 3.
