Picking a fight with the Molthune scouts would have involved a CR 5 encounter.
All their favored enemy would have been replaced by human, so it'd get potentially painful considering the half elves are immune to sleep effects and would just wake their leader up.
There are things up to CR6 on the random encounter table. I may reroll if I feel it's inappropriate(like throwing a Yeti at level 1 characters in Reign of Winter), but not all the time, as I prefer to let dice fall as they may.
Do not expect that everything on the random encounter table = we should fight it.
They also have been taken off the random encounter table since story wise they're headed back to report.

GM Mort |

Waiting for people to decide if they want to sidetrack to abandoned two humanoid dwelling or continue in same direction.

GM Mort |

Rhyna follows Erastil. And gee you like garlic? Sometime back raw garlic was the kind of thing that would get me running away. Heh.

GM Mort |

Your Dex is 4 lower then your strength (once shapeshift is on) so I'm not sure how you're getting a +5 to hit with sling.
Also slings have 30 ft range increment so there's a further - 2 to hit. But with that high roll, you hit anyway.

Hey, I've got sunlight sensitivity, one of my canines is twisted and pointed like little fang, and the worst thing is I don't get dark vision.
Soy sauce mixed with chopped raw garlic. Awesome for all your pork and beef dipping needs =)

Ratel Dier |

I love garlic, all of the marinades or dry rubs I make have garlic, the beef jerky, any pasta sauces or stir-fries... mmmm garlic

GM Mort |

No worries I don't think anyones going anywhere for a while. Or you could put Sylvan as language known and talk to plants =P

Ratel Dier |

Hey, I'm off tonight and didn't sleep much last night, so I'm about to doze off. If we move on soon and get in a fight, go ahead and bot Ratel and Bear. I'm back to my regular shifts tomorrow, post more then.

GM Mort |

No worries we just take a chill pill for now. GM is rather busy at work anyway.(Had to skip gym yesterday)
Anyway, it's labourday so Happy Labour day Americans!
And going for a movie tonight.

Going for a blood donation, only one hand to type with for a bit.

Azmythe - sorry to see you go, best of luck for future endeavors. And don't feel bad about it - Hmm said the very same thing on my Reign of Winter campaign. Which I completely understand, RL comes first.
Ok Gang - how do you want me to handle this - re recruit one more or just proceed with current party. There is a possibility to pick up an NPC cleric in this book or the next.

Ratel Dier |

I'm ok either way as well. I know either way Mort will keep the pace moving.
If we stick with four, should I look at Multi-classing Ratel a couple of levels to cast spells?

GM Mort |

The issue is whether we want to take a gamble that the others in recruitment thread can get along with the party and can keep the pace.

Hedran |

I am sorry to see you leave Azmythe, mainly because your character is unique to the group. And I do understand you - truth is the breakneck speed of the game means certain events (regardless of how much you would like to participate or be a part of them) will completely pass you by... Which can be frustrating and give you a feeling the game goes on 'regardless' of you.
As for continuing the game, I (still) worry about our buffing/divine/healing/condition removal/etc abilities. I would like to recruit someone with those strengths.

GM Mort |

Anyway also, since Hedran brought it up(I know I speed around too much) - how many people should I wait for on moving things?
I mean I do allow retconing and all...

GM Mort |

Anyway yes, sent out invite, since I don't like disappointing people, I'll wait on yes/no answers before I send out the next invite. So this might take a while.

GM Mort |

I can GMPC myself if need. Just ask Nigel. When we did Strange Aeons solo, he ended up with two NPCs tagging along with him and some wtf "party" conversations.

GM Mort |

Anyway from the GM perspective, it's at higher levels where the lack of casting starts rearing its ugly head.

GM Mort |

Also waiting on whether the group wants to take Edran in or not since as GM there will be different scenes to describe should he be taken in or not.

Ummm, wait for three to what?

Ratel Dier |

If that's the case let's stay at four and 'move things' on two...
Part of the way we keep things moving is letting someone take the lead and get us to the next point, instead of waiting for someone to 'agree'
If we have to have a cleric Ratel can multi class.

GM Mort |

The gameplay and discussion tabs are a little wonky. They keep indicating I have posts unread when I've been reading, concentiously everything.

Ratel Dier |

same...
Ok about the Three or two people to 'keep things moving.' I'm not trying to be a curmudgeon, so I apologize if I sounded abrasive.
Mort does a pretty good job of slowing things down when she needs to. When we come to a 'fork in the road' so to speak.
I just like the pace, even if it's a little hectic at times. It's nice to be in a game where it feels like things are moving. I still read all the posts and comment on anything that tickles my fancy. But I am used to it and I have a lot of time most of the time (though not as much as I used to).
But I would rather have a conversation about it than lose people who want to be in the game. So please don't just 'give in' because I asked to stay at four people.

GM Mort |
1 person marked this as a favorite. |

I know one of the key defining things about me is I’m always keen on keeping things moving. I don’t deny that I may have gone overboard at times. But for me as a GM I’m wondering where to draw that line, I’ve done like, if someone indicates a direction to proceed, game moves kind of thing.
It doesn’t exactly help that I will honestly confess I suffer from PBP ADHD.

Ratel Dier |

Doesn't sound abrasive to me :D
Didn't actually realize you had suggested we stayed at 4 players.

yeah, that's sort of what I implied in the first line...

GM Mort |

I did send the person an invite, so if that person accepts, it'll take place. That's why I asked your opinions before sending out :o

Ratel Dier |

The speak with animals is two minutes, once combat was immediately over was it still up? If so Ratel will go talk to the lynx.
