After a bit of downtime to collect your things and split up any important items to the group, you all make your way to the temple for your Water Breathing allotment for the day. Joram Kyte gives you all a nod or a small bow depending on his relation to you or shared religion.
You make your way back down the caves, through the cave system to the open door to the strange ruins. Making your way through the first section of ruins through the, now lit, strange desert area.
So this room is a GIANT pain in the ass. And I am not actually sure if you solved the issue here. Those horrible 4 armed undead creatures (same race as in Starfinder) just keep coming back. I am forgetting a bit, but basically you just had to turn the light back on in one of the rooms to get them from regenerating. Call it a gift from the new GM. Its also possible we already did this, but I don't remember as a player or GM.. SOOOoo free gift.
I am keeping better track now as a GM.. I hope
Through the blood soaked rooms of the deeper dungeon area to the lift. Those of you who have not seen this yet. The walls are made of a strange metal, lit panels are scattered throughout the rooms. Strange symbols abound, some in Androffen, some just strange pictographic icons of some sort. Some you can figure out, some are just a bit too alien.
You get to the strange elevator. The part now in hand.
Fill round action. DC 12 reflex
Electricity Damage: 1d6 ⇒ 5
Then you just need to attach the cord.
Once it is reattached the lights suddenly turn on, and the room hums with a soft buzzing sound.

Thawm Uhturj |

is the missing part the rod that Khonnir fixed?

Gauntlet the Eidolon |

Yes.
Having retrieved Gauntlet from the other-worlds, Keldor attempts to put the part in place.
Reflex: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (19) + 2 = 21
"Facinating! Anybody understand what these mean?"

Thawm Uhturj |

He has quick fingers.
Note to self: some of this stuff sparks a great deal, research a method to protect against electricity.
"Basil identified the markings on the last bit of technology we found. Basil?
Also, now that I think about it, I haven't seen anything on this floor except the path here, is there anything else around?"
Also, when I was skimming for lewt info I noticed that there was a perception check when you guys first got to this floor, is that check moot now? Should Thawm and Varilien roll?
Perception (if it isn't moot): 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (14) + 3 = 17

Varilien Dorianathi |

Varilien is utterly captivated by the sights and sounds of the ruins under Torch, and lingers more than once to make a sketch or write down an observation in one of his many notebooks. You haven't seen him switch it out for another yet, but you'd expect it will be necessary soon at the rate he's going.
As the group arrives at their apparent destination, Varilien watches as, amidst the small arcs of lightning, Gauntlet deftly reaches forth and attaches the rod Khonnir had returned to them. Varilien draws an involuntary and perceptible gasp as the entire panel lights up, and after a moment to steady himself, he recognizes the Androffan text and shares it with the group.
"Science and engineering - why would they separate these? Natural science is nothing if not pragmatic. And what are these - Docking? Crew? Aren't these nautical terms?"
The professor is overcome with more questions than he can ask aloud, and he grows silent. His eyes shine with unconcealed excitement.

The perception is not moot. You can determine that the ceiling is hollow. But everyone has basically figured out it is an elevator of some kind already. Just the first hint of that
The only workable option is to press the Engineering button.
Eventually one of you pushes it.. haha
The whole floor lurches upward. Then seems to raise upward slowly. You can all tell there is some sort of gentle upward movement. TI then stops.
You now see a different set of doors in front of you. A second later the doors open slowly with a soft hiss.
A cloying, animalist stink fills the air of this hemispherical room. To the north and south, curved ramps lead up to hallways leading out of the room, while several doors sit in the east wall. Flickering lights flash and strobe on the ceiling, and the gray metal walls are scorched, dented, and partially broken in places, exposing colorful wires or metallic struts within. Four mounds of rubble, cloth, and bones lie scattered about the room.
Among these piles are 4 strange canine like creatures who perk up at the sound of the door.
Because you are inside the room and you had a bit of time before the doors open. Everyone gets 1 surprise round. In whatever order you wish. Then we will start combat

BTW, I keep forgetting about it, but I can give +2 sacred bonus to saves/attack/AC/skill-checks/ability-checks as a standard action (until my next turn), so feel free to ask ^^
As the elevator stops on the next floor and the doors open, Thawm notices the canines and quickly utters a prayer to enhance the attack of the person between her and the door: "may Nethys guide your aim."
@Basil: +2 to attack until my next turn (you get a full turn to use it + possibly a surprise SA?)

Gauntlet the Eidolon |

Keldor/Gauntlet moves into the room cautiously.
+2AC bonus for Defensive?

Dirissa Dhib |

Dirissa darts into the room, hammer at the ready. Her face falls a bit at the sight that greets her. "I've never seen puppies like those."

Basil NaN |

Basil indeed understands the labels next to the buttons perfectly well.
"Science is the pursuit of knowledge. Engineering is the application of knowledge.", she attempts to answer Variliens musing while in the elevator, "And the use of nautical terms seems consistent within the complex. Elements found in our last visit referred to decks. Maybe it was a landship once?"
Once the door opens, Basil moves out of the elevator. Which unfortunately consumes the surprise round.
Adjusting her position and judging the behavior of the creatures as hostile, with an attack imminent, she opens fire, then reloads.

A tiny oil slick appears between Thawm and the farther canine-esque creature, right under the closer animal.
MA exit the elevator.
SA cast Grease on the doggo next to Basil

DM Nex |

Varilien's arrow strikes true and kills the creature that was shot at by Basil.
Varilien quickly realizes these are Thylacines. Basic animals. Likely kept as guards here. No major weaknesses. The sounds they made are quite loud though.
There does seem to be a consistant hum in this place, it makes it difficult to hear -5 on all sound based perception checks. So someone might have heard them start yipping.
With the grease slick on the floor, the other injured creature runs at Basil, moving around the strange magical slick on the floor and strikes.

Apologies, Roll20 is acting up for me. I simply assume I can get into a position where I can fire.
Adjusting her footing slightly, Basil takes aim, then fires another blast, focused on the single creature she can target, before reloading again.

DM Nex |

Sorry about Roll20. I am debating moving to Google Sheets. Curious what was happening to your Roll20. I like the fog of war I can do with Roll20, but I want to make sure everyone can use it.
Basil takes a step back, avoiding the greese and blasts out at one of the creatures attacking her. Shredding it with bullets. It drops to the floor.
The room goes quiet as the creatures all go quiet and stop howling and making noises. Now that you have some time to look around You can see a pair of large doors to your east. Flanked on either side are 2 smaller doors. To the North are another set of double doors.
Also to the north and south behind you are raised paths that seem to lead back to where you came.

Dirissa Dhib |

"How about his door," Dirissa says moving up to the double doors to the north.

Gauntlet the Eidolon |

"That works. Wait for me?"
Keldor moves quickly to help Dirissa.

Thawm Uhturj |

"I prefer the right hand rule myself, but following the left wall will do just as well." Thawm says as she follows also.

Basil NaN |

Dunno, sometimes it's updates, sometimes browser versions, other times it's the local settings of the VPN tunnel through which I have to connect with work laptop. *shrug* Personally I prefer Google for "no loading times/login delay" but having minor issues now and then is no reason to migrate.
Basil reloads, looking around and then at both the floor and the ceiling, trying to determine how much 'space' there is between the decks based on their previous movement, and if there is a difference with the ceiling on this level compared to the previous floor.
Still focused on her observation, she moves into position behind Dirissa and Gauntlet wordlessly, indicating her readiness by aiming her weapon towards the door.

Varilien Dorianathi |

Varilien looks on impassively as the last animal falls, then glances about the room. "Oh Dirissa, please hold a moment if you can." His eyes settle on the nearest mound of refuse. "Judging by the amount of detritus gathered here, I'd say these thylacines have been living here for some time. Who knows what they've inadvertently found in this ruin? I've got a hunch." He plunges his hands into the pile.
Assuming no interruptions, taking 20 on Perception for a 31 to search the mounds.

DM Nex |

Looking through the piles on the floor all you really find is bits of rubble, cloth, and bone. A mix of very old and things you would find now. Sadly nothing special. These creatures mostly just like to pile things up and sit on them.
As for the floors, you are about 30 feet above the previous floor. Based on how much the elevator moved.
Moved some of your tokens closer to the door. Let me know if you would go somewhere else
