I think basically the creature got a surprise attack on us and partially charged Keldor/Gauntlet...or something similar...since he's the biggest-looking threat. I went ahead and posted my attack early to get it out of the way and speed up the combat a little since I figured the GM was busy with school. Game ON! =)

Basil, take a double turn, but moving on for pacing.

Gauntlet slams his body against the alien creature, and yet, it seems to parry the blow, letting the force of the attack carry him back rather than take the full force to his body.

With such a cramped space, Dirrisa and Kell do their best to tend to the wounded.

Harg, I don't think you cast a spell and do a full attack action in the same round. Shocking grasp is a standard action to cast, so I don't believe you can get a bite, melee attack, and spell cast in the same round. If I'm mistaken, please direct me to the proper rulings and such in the discussion thread. For the meantime, your "round" is in limbo and will either be redone or applied next round.

Dirissa takes advantage of Gauntlet's positioning and wades in to attack. Swinging her hook hammer and wailing like a banshee, she plunges the hammer end into the creature's pelvis with a sickening smack.

Hey DM, the creature's last full round action, I was 5 feet away, where all those attacks on Gauntlet? You just said "creature in front of it", so I just want to make sure. It is quite a bit of damage.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Excellent Drissa! That's the most damage I've ever seen a gnome do without magic!

December 26th Update

Yeah Harg, all that was on Gauntlet as your first round ended with you taking a five foot step back.

Shockingly heh, Harg's series of attacks are all dodged if just barely. But they do open the foe up for two decisive strikes from Gauntlet and Dirissa.

It seems like the creature smiles as it enjoys the challenging blow from Gauntlet, but it never expected such a small and colorful creature to smash a hole in its chest.

It looks down at Dirissa, gives what could be a nod of respect, all before its form seemingly dissolves into nothingness.

Well....you had just enough damage to completely take it out. Nice job guys.

Inside the room, you find a small black card of sorts, and when you go over to take the creature's weapons, you find the old, ancient, rusted. Picking up one, you find the brittle metal breaks in your hand.

Where to now?

Ongoing Effects:
Shield +4 AC
Magus/Slayer 7 HP: 69/91 | AC: 22 / T: 13 / FF: 20 | Fort: +8, Ref: +7, Will: +5 | CMB: +10, CMD: 25 | Init: +2, Perception: +12

Taking the broken metal pieces in his hand, "Hm what type of metal would fall apart like this.. unless it was very very old. How long has this been down here? Harg seems shocked and a bit worried as he looks at the shards of the metal.

I wonder if this thing lost its way down here. Don't want to turn into one of these things!

Looking around the room. "What was this thing doing in this room?"
Anything interesting in this room?

Avoiding the black card What is that thing? Is it like our other colored cards?

Looking down at his sword as its shine dissipates. "I am not sure about you all, but my arcane reserves are low. I could use a rest soon. Also, Keldor, are you ok? You took quote a few strikes back there."

F Gnome Barbarian-1/Oracle-2 | HP 31(+6)/31(37) | AC 23; T 14; F 20 (-2) | F+5/+7 R+0 W+3/+5 (&+2v.fear/emotion, +2v.illusion) | CMB+3/+5; CMD 15/17 | Rage 3/7 | Init+0 Perception+8| Lowlight vision | Current effects: divine favor, rage

Dirissa looks around for any further foes, a feral gleam in her eyes. I needed that.
She calms down after a moment and begins to look around. Assuming the black card is like the other colored cards, she simply picks it up and turns it over in the light to see if it has any identifying marks on it.

She nods at Harg's point. "I believe we all could use a bit of rest."
also, any other exits in this room?

Ongoing Effects:
+2 Natural Armor, -2 Dex; Heightened Awareness, Resist Fire, See Invisibility, Fast Healing Judgment

Basil stands next to Dirissa, staring at the Black Card, waiting for her turn to handle it.
"Rest? Already?", the Android seems genuinely curious. "It's barely been 4 hours and 51 minutes since we arrived..."
Kneeling down, she searches her pack, eventually extracting a ration from it.
Holding it out to Dirissa, she looks at the Gnome's slightly tattered clothing expectedly:"Dinner?"

Ongoing Effects:
Shield +4 AC
Magus/Slayer 7 HP: 69/91 | AC: 22 / T: 13 / FF: 20 | Fort: +8, Ref: +7, Will: +5 | CMB: +10, CMD: 25 | Init: +2, Perception: +12

Looking toward Basil, "I do not tire, but my internal energy reserves have run low. A rest would allow for me to recover some of that energy. I do feel stronger than I have in the past, and I would love to replenish that ability."

Looking at the black card as it changes hands.

"Didn't one of you say you already had some of these, with other colors? Did you try using them on those locked doors? That door, we past, shall we try to open it? Deal with what is inside, then rest for the night? I don't have any real need to head back to town. These rooms seem defensible."

Looking to the group, "What say you, see if we can enter that room we past, then find a good place to bunker down for awhile."
