The name doesn't ring a bell for Jack, if he were to guess the name almost sounds like something a Shoanti would be called.

"Hard to say..."

Meliora taps her chin, surrounded by books as she vastly prefers.

"Not to mention, if I was going to look up a heretical book of sin and vice, I'd probably consider using a new name. Just as a rule. New appearance, too. They'd probably have steps to see through that, though... So either they're telling the truth or they're a really good liar?"

She shakes her head. "Well, anyways, we should get back to base."

"thats whats in those books? heretical sins and vices? Oh my. Hey like ive been meaning to ask. Anyone have any idea how like that ugly Nox woman was even able to do that thing with the dagger at the riot? or like now, man Im pretty sure I got a good shot in and she took it like it was nothing. Magic right? Its magic?"

She asked sounding a strange mixture of confused, annoyed, and well worried.

"I should work on a bigger gun maybe, something with more oomph."

She added helping pack the books away into backpacks.

"I would think that much is obvious." Oh god, she's talking like she knows things.

"As you'll notice, she also fell down my pit and didn't actually have any damage when she got out. Our hits on her slowly faded off of her, too. Maybe it was hard to notice if you aren't used to keeping an eye on the flow of battles and whatnot... but it's simple: she has some kind of ability that lets her regenerate damage at an abnormal rate. Whether that's the simpler version like what an Infernal Healing spell will grant, or a more complicated version like a troll's regeneration is up for debate... I've already figured out a few ways to test it later, though. Once we have time."

Mic continues to work out her sore mussels while Mel and Canacha talk. With one final large pop of her neck she focus back on the conversation.

"I taged her pretty good a couple of times at the end. We would have taken her down, she left because she knew that. She might heal fast but fast only gets ya so far in my experience..." she looks around a bit "Sorry... My business sometimes you talk tough but still she was a son of a gun. The morning after you have returned from your encounter with Nox, the mood of the Coffeehouse's costumers are somewhat diverted into two groups. What they are all discussion is the newest proclamation from the dear Lord Mayor, Laria hands over a pamplet to you for reading.

Proclamation the Ninth
BY ORDER OF LORD-MAYOR BARZILLAI THRUNE, THE CONGRESS OF HELLKNIGHTS KNOWN AS THE ORDER OF THE TORRENT IS FROM THIS DAY FORWARD STRIPPED OF ITS CHARTER! ALL OF ITS HOLDINGS AND POSSESSIONS ARE CONFISCATED, ITS PRIVILEGES AND ENTITLEMENTS REVOKED, AND ITS MEMBERS DECLARED OUTLAWS!
STEADFAST CITIZENS ARE COMMANDED TO TURN OVER THOSE MEMBERS WHO HAVE SLIPPED THE NET OF JUSTICE!

"It really is quite horrible the order of the Torrent is probably the only order which works for the people and not our queen. Of course most of those speaking against them in here are mostly speaking against Hellknights as a whole not this order, but it has dampened the mood." Laria says after you have all had a chance to read the proclamation.
She than looks around to see if anyone is to close to her before continueing. "I have a request for you, it's from a tavern owner in Old Kintargo. Setrona is well known to have her ears low to the ground, and has heard rumors about your mostly from the Nursery. Her cousin is.. or rather was Lictor of the Torrents and she is quite distraught about him disappearing and the order now being outlawed. I myself has never had the chance to meet her, but if the rebellion are to grow we need more allies and we certainly can't say no to an opportunity to get a Hellkinght order on our side. When you are ready heard for Setrona's tavern in Old Kintargo, The Tooth and Nail." she finishes before heading over to serve some new costumers.

Lena adds some historical points to Jacks knowledge.

The Order of the Torrent was founded in 4644 AR by Reya Naulvaneti, who had rescued the son of the city's lord-mayor at the time. Originally a member of the Order of the Scourge, her success led to her commanders mandating the establishment of the new Hellknight order.

ThE decline the order faced began in 4675 AR when Lictor Reya was assassinated by one of the leader's of the Gray Spiders, a local thieves' guild. In retaliation, the Hellknights mounted an assault on their hideout, under the command of the newly appointed Lictor Parthos Yehl. Although the raid was successful, effectively destroying the criminal gang and taking control of the hideout, Yehl was later disgraced when it was discovered that he had planned to raid the guild's treasury and keep the ill-gotten loot for himself and a few favored subordinates. Subsequently charged with corruption and expelled, the Order never recovered from the disgrace.

"I hear the title 'Hellknight' and I immediately want nothing to do with them," Jack says. "But if this order is indeed dedicated to rescuing missing and abducted people...that may be different. Perhaps I can ask around with my sources to see what these Order of the Torrent Hellknights have been up to recently. Perhaps they've been investigating one of more of the disappearances from the Night of Ashes--Lord-Mayor Bainilus, Shensen, or even the tiefling Strea. If that proves to be the case...well, maybe an alliance would be in order."

The Tooth and Nail may present the facade of a rundown tavern, but it is in fact a fixture of Old Kintargo as a popular hangout for the district’s artisans, merchants, and adventurers. The single-story tavern is marked by nothing but a wooden post outside, four bent and rusty nails and six wolves’ teeth hammered into its weathered face. The tavern shares the building with a confectioner’s shop, identified by the words “Sweet Tooth” painted at its entrance on Tuce Alley. Inside, the Tooth and Nail carries the stink of stale beer, tobacco smoke, and less discernible odors hovering in the air like clouds of gnats. Narrow windows, stained yellow, allow in little natural light, and a few sputtering candles do little to disperse the gloom. The furniture is dilapidated, and was of poor quality even on the long-ago day it was fashioned.

The common room is nearly empty when you arrive with only a woman standing behind the bar taking stock and a lumpish man cleary some tables, making them ready for the evening rush. The woman eyeing you first calls to you "We are not open for customers yet, come back in half an hour."

She looks abit at Jack wondering how to phrase her answer. "To be true they have had a spottet past. The order was founded after the Silver Ravens of old kidnapped the Lord Mayor's son back at the end of the civil war, in an attempt to garner the support of the people. Sadly it backfired and they lost the support as they threaten to execute him to get their Leader back. But to what the order is like currently I'd like to tell you about my cousin."

She takes a break from story telling take a glass of ale and empty it in one go before continueing. “My cousin Octavio is an obstinate and difficult man, but he’s also an honorable one. He’s led the Order of the Torrent for a decade, and during that time they’ve rescued dozens of missing people and other unfortunates from abduction. The order’s members aren’t all stationed here in Kintargo— they work throughout Avistan, after all, and I suppose it’s something of a blessing that most of their two dozen or so members were elsewhere when Barzillai made the order illegal. Those who are outside Cheliax are certainly lying low, awaiting word from their lictor, but if we can find my cousin, I’m certain he can be convinced to aid the Silver Ravens. He might grouse a bit at your methods, but I know for a fact that he’s no supporter of Thrune, and having his network of agents at your disposal can only help, right? In any event, assuming he’s not in the clutches of House Thrune, I think I know where my cousin is. He’d probably hate me if he found out I told you this, but the Order of the Torrent sometimes uses a small shrine just south of the city in the Argo swamps as a safe house. The place is warded against magical observation, and they’ve used it in the past as a staging place for smuggling those they’ve rescued into or out of Kintargo. The place is the Shrine of Saint Senex, and if my cousin is anywhere, he’s there.”

Jack knows some of the public history about the Shrine. The Shrine was founded by a group of seafaring mystics a few hundred years ago, the shrine is devoted to the memory of sailors who lost their lives at sea. Senex herself was an oracle of the waves who devoted much of her later life to the recovery of the bodies of drowned sailors, to return them and their belongings to their families rather than leaving them at the bottom of Nisroch Bay or to the deeper stretches of the Yolubilis. Since the Chelish Civil War, Saint Senex has drifted into obscurity. Her shrine has been tended by an ever-dwindling staff of seers and guardians who, Setrona warns, are unlikely to be welcoming of intruders, especially if her cousin has made clear his desire to remain unfound.

Setrona looks to Lena "I'm sure if you can prove yourself honorable in his eyes, I'm sure he'll work together with you despite the history of your group and his order. But he'll probably ask you to prove it. I just hope he is there and not one of those people Thrune are excruciating in the park today."
