Hey guys! I started writing a homebrew adventure that I want to test out, and I was wondering if any of you guys are interested?
Anyway, go ahead and check out the recruitment thread I started up, here. So far it's just a few people arguing with me about homebrew changes and character generation preferences. Let me know if you're interested or just post in the thread, I'd love to have any of you.

Another game with Leinathan? The single best DM I've ever had the luxury of playing with? Sign me up. I've been looking for a new game to join, and I'm willing to bet your homebrew most definitely isn't awful like the 90% that get thrown up on the boards.
I'll look this instant.
That aside, guys, this is about to get very fun~

I'm turning into one of the goblins that we've killed, going to the fort (disguised in goblin clothing) and trying to con my way into the fort.
I suggest that the goblins get buried and then the rest of the party climbs the cliff and waits in the caves for loud noises. I plan on using a banshee ballerina firework as the signal.
leinathan |
Alternately, I could become Barthol and tie one of you up while the other two scale the cliff.
I actually have a pair of false manacles and we still have that scroll of dimension door...that might not the best idea, though.
I just really like my equipment and I want to use it sometime XD
Aviz |
Right, prisoner control. I suppose we've gotten all we need from him and then some, so I suppose we can let him go. Aviz will give him a hard stare as he goes, reminding him of who's boss.
Duboris |
Alright guys, listen, because you're going to love this. Seeing as how this AP was originally designed for the 6 of you, I've had to change a lot of numbers and frankly this is just an easier idea, and I'm sure all 5 of you are going to be okay with it.
You all level. You're all level 6 now, so make sure to list what you do with that.
Everyone takes the following as health:
12 - 10
10 - 8
8 - 6
6 - 4
Depending on your hit dice, you get what I've just listed. Enjoy! The reason for this is every one of the major bosses is 1 CR above an epic encounter, and that's frankly not a good thing, until you guys start getting gold out the Wazoo...

OK, it wasn't THAT big since theres no change to BAB or saves.....but the profile is all done and ready to go (what my boss doesn't know cant hurt me). A far as spells:
Regardless, after resting I will use Domain Mastery to make Destruction domain/Catastrophe subdomain my secondary. New spells prepared for the assault morning:
0-level (DC15): Detect Magic, Guidance, Resistance, Stabilize
1-level (DC16): Bless, Bless, Obscuring Mist, Moment of Greatness, Stone Shield, True Strike(dom)
2-level (DC17): Bull's Strength, Burst of Radiance, Grace, Gust of Wind (dom)
3-level (DC17): Prayer, Stone Shape, Call Lightning (dom)
Aviz |
Aviz has two attacks a round. You are allowed to substitute trip attempts for melee attacks. Aviz adds 18 to trip. When he successfully trips an opponent, they provoke an AoO. He has 5 AoO's a round.
Trip fighters are WAY stronger than I originally thought.
Saruwatari Yoshihiko |
Hopefully Aviz' strengths can make up for the fact that Saru has absolutely zero combat potential.
On the other hand, hopefully Saru can make up for the fact that nobody else in the party has any skill ranks at all.
Level six!
+1 level arcanist, +1 Fort, Ref save, +3 hp (1d6-1), +1 1st-level spell/day, +1 1st-level spell prepared (mudball today), +2 spells known (vocal alteration, snapdragon fireworks), arcane pool +1 point, arcanist exploit (bloodline development - rakshasa bloodline), +silver tongue 7/day
skills (+5 ranks): +1 Bluff, +1 Disguise, +1 Perception, +1 Sleight of Hand, +1 Stealth
Rova the Strong |
Level 6 Barbarian
+1 BAB (second attack)
+1 fort
+3 rage rounds a day
Rage power reckless abandon.
+1 perception
+1 Acrobatics
+1 Climb
+5 cold resistance
Aviz |
Reckless abandon is such a great rage power. I once made a barbarian who had a -1 AC. But he had about a +35 to hit with hilarious damage. Only level 8.

First off I wanna apologize for yet another massive delay, but it's the final 2 weeks of mid-term and I'm everywhere at once and losing sleep. I humbly apologize, but i've found a calm before tomorrow's oncoming storm.
Secondly, Deylar.
The fort is only a solid hour, walking, away, and 45 minutes if your Rova. For position, I'll go so far as to say that it takes you an hour and 15 minutes to get into the proper positions. Please post what the lot of you do.
Deylar Tiarshuro |
WHEN WE LAST LEFT OUR HEROES.......
we had just rested and woke up ready to take on the fort, that is until a huge bug came along to suck down our resources. Plan is for the group except Saru to take the 1hr 15min walk/fly to move into position behind the fort near the secret batcave entrance the hobgoblin told us about.
Around midday Saru will deceive his way in the front, setting fire to the one tower as a distraction to the goblins (also using a firework to ensure that we know he was successful).
Once the guards are running toward the burning tower we sneak in during the commotion and start making our way through the fort looking for 3 things:
1- their now-smart leader
2- his as of yet unknown female that seems to be the source of his new smarts
3- missing guild member, we are assuming he was captured and brought here (or at least that he's here)
And of course trying to regroup without accidentally killing a disguised Saru.
.......I miss anything, boss?
Saruwatari Yoshihiko |
You have our plan, Duboris. Aviz, Deylar, and Rova are going to go scale the cliff to get into the secret entrance while I infiltrate the place to spy around for a bit.
Duboris |
I was just asking to catch the specifics, but I do feel that I need a small amount of roll call, seeing as how I worry that Rova might not be here. Regardless, you are correct, and I'll be moving us along with a megapost tomorrow once I get back to my dorm. I can't suffer through it with this phone D:
Aviz |
If I had a nickle for every time I stole anything between an idea to a full character for my own campaign I would put Bill Gates to shame. Creating an entire diverse world is difficult enough without having to grind through endless NPCs.
Rova the Strong |
I am back, sorry for the abscence. On Oct 6th I broke my ankel, and have been out of work, having surgery and all around preoccupied.
While still in a boot, and unable to walk, I am back at work and can continue on. It seems that I'm at the bottom of the cliff and there is a red sword having goblin at the top?
Aviz |
I love the ideas behind this campaign, but the pace is not acceptable. If there's something else you need from us, tell us. If there's not, move things along.
Saruwatari Yoshihiko |
Harshness aside, he's kind of right.
Momentum is important to a game. Lose the momentum, lose the motivation, lose track of who your character is, lose players. You lose the game.
For the sake of your own game, paying a bit more attention is important.
Duboris |
I really do apologize, but I'm nowhere near my stats at the moment. I'm actually going back to my apartment today, but I've been visiting home for thanksgiving and sending the majority of my game posts from a laptop I'm fairly certain runs on pure frustration.
That aside, I'll do this for you: If we ever have another 3 day pause, you're welcome to leave abruptly and without apology. I've treated you guys pretty poorly but I can half-blame it on college based speed bumps. I really am sorry.
The pace will be picked up, I assure you, this time. Though you're welcome to not believe that. Although, Aviz, you can go ahead and roll your turn despite it being the goblins.
Aviz |
I'm fine with pauses. For a long term game it's normal, real life happens. Just let us know. If you'll be gone for a month, fine. Just tell us. Even if its just "I don't have the motivation". Silence leaves us to assume the worst.
I won't mess with the Init, go ahead.
