Feel free to introduce each other just a bit more. Illenara and Rose will unfortunately be leaving us, and heading to a Monestary to the east. I'll include that in a few hours.
Saru, in light of your roll, you may ask One question about the current quest at hand, whether it be about the goblins, or whatever else you can come up with.
I should also point out that any and all "Gather information" checks take exactly 8 hours, I believe, but i'm likely wrong. I'll check shortly.
*edit*
Roll a 1d4 whenever you make the check, and that's how many hours it takes to learn what you did. You may make multiple. If you've taken the trait "Diplomat" you may roll twice.

There's 2 words of both heads up and warning that I'd like to give you guys, as players. As you all know, this is a beta Adventure path, and as such, is being fine tuned and completed as you travel through it. Given that, there is a myriad of things that you most definitely should be both excited, and concerned about.
The first thing to be concerned about is that, as you might expect, there are singular bosses in this game. Mind you most of them are nowhere near being easy, but I know for certain that the action economy is the most important part of any fight, under normal circumstances.
As such, that's why I divide fights into both regular CR encounters, and those other encounters where enemies have average, above average, or maximum possible health.
In the Category of "Heroic" enemies, they are the Maximum health tanks, and whatnot. Beyond "Heroic" is "Mythic" enemies. That said you can probably guess what that entails, and you'd be right.
Certain major enemies in this game, depending on the circumstances, have no more than 2 Mythic Tiers, which is something you, as the PC's, cannot gain. This is an experimental balancing thing that I've got going, and seems to work well in my real-life games, although players getting knocked unconscious by the numbers is certainly common.
The other thing is that for things to happen, not only do you have to ask questions, but you'd do well to intermingle amongst each other quite a bit, as well as NPC's.
My work thought it was a good idea to limit how many computers a day I upgraded to Windows 7. It's 8. I can do that in 3 hours and then spend the rest of my workday doing posts on these forums, so I'm more set than usual at the moment.
I encourage large amounts of roleplay as always, but you guys have to agree amongst each other what is about to happen, whether talking about it in discussion, or gameplay. That said, I'd prefer it be RP'd in gameplay.
That's all for now. Keep on truckin~
Frankly though, in my fights as a DM, the enemies are often the least of your worries, because I play them just as smart as you, as a player, would be.
"Mythic" enemies aren't on the horizon just yet, unless you go hunting them down, of course, but they do exist within the campaign world. They are also quite ravenous, and could be the whole point of going somewhere at one point, but I digress.
This AP has a generous amount of downtime, as you all know. It took you 3 days just to get here, on a ship with crafting utensils, so imagine what happens when you fly up to the peaks, haha. You'd be surprised.
Side Note: - Mythic tiers are only ever placed on singular creatures of +2 APL or lower. Epic encounters are hard enough.
Terrifying Side Note - Since creating it, Zarthid's Linnorm has gained a singular Mythic Tier and taken Mythic Initiative which means it will never roll an initiatve below 36
Far more Terrifying Side Note - Mythic Power Attack and Mythic Toughness with the Guardian Template is something pathfinder should never mix.

Presently there is Captain Avery, and 4 other Guardsmen. Avery isn't green, and the other guards know him rather well, and that he dislikes the halberd, or rather, just never has one. There's a lot of things that I can pinpoint here, really, that give penalties to the situation. Still I'm not one to punish good ideas so early, either.
The biggest giveaway is that you just don't have a longsword like the captain always does... it's a bit of a pickle, and we can see how it plays out.
Between the garments and everything else the disguise is obviously near-perfect, so perception isn't going to beat that unless you do something suspicious, which you have, obviously.
If you'd disguised as a mundane guardsmen this would be a lot simpler, as you would've just been another guard to come help them out... without a halberd.
I'm at a loss, lol. Well done.

See, I dunno if this would register as magic.
You'd probably be able to identify my cuffs (CL 1st, so DC 16 to identify), but I don't know if my change shape ability counts as a spell. If it does, it counts as alter self, which is CL 3rd and a DC 19 Spellcraft check to identify.

Deylar Tiarshuro |

Im leaving 7/20 to take my son to Boy Scout Camp.....6 nights up in the woods of upstate NY....i'll be bringing my iPhone but not sure what type of signal Im going to get. I will try to check in daily but do not hesitate to BOT me to keep things moving forward.
Timing probably stinks, hopefully Rova won't kill all the goblins without me!

Rova the Strong |

^^ agreed. I didn't want to be to brash and have people feel that they were always just responding to my character, but I can drive the story violently forward if no one has a problem with an arrogant murderous orc gung ho making decisions for the group ;)

Saruwatari Yoshihiko |

I prefer to wait for other people when they leave, but I'm okay with you waiting for me or not waiting for me, whichever you prefer. If I'm gone for two or three days at a time, feel free to bot me, but only do so if you're comfortable with who my character is.

Duboris |

Note to self: In near future, remember that particular NPCs are ex-adventurers.
Also, lein, I'm not sure if this is going how you wanted it to, but there's an offer to escape the situation, lol. You don't have Avery's sword which is glowing red (Magical items in this campaign glow with your aura's color if they do glow at all.) so that kind of hinders your disguise checks and whatnot.
Plus he's one of the higher ups of a cheliax military. There's probably like 900 hand signs for "Attack" you don't know to boot, so they'll get to the bottom of this eventually.
If you wish to continue, roll a bluff check. If not, well, I'm not really sure what'll happen.

Duboris |

I'm absolutely excited to see just how good the first combat goes, because the first real combat that happens against the goblins/other stuff kind of gives you a glimpse into why there's so little fighting so far.
protip: Milk every ounce of info that you can out of everyone you meet. Things are about to get interesting.

Duboris |

From this point forward I've deemed it significantly faster, yet just as rich in roleplay, to answer singular characters directly without waiting on other posters. This is in hopes to encourage people that want to put their 2 sense into a situation to get their say in before a situation resolves.
Expect faster posts from me, as well.

Duboris |

Oh and just to remind everyone, the presentable Insignias that all of you have (Including you, Lein) you can use to reveal yourself as a member of Wyvern's Soul. If someone has one of those on them, they've either been stolen, or are a member themselves. No one ever has more than 1.
The "Ability" of these insignias is rather trite, and can send only 1 word per action, and only two a day, to the guild itself.
It's not much, mind you, but it's better than nothing. You can, also, apply punctuation to the words you send back. It's a littel bit of a creative requirement, however.

Duboris |

Ah! Another thing! When I get home in... 2 and a half hours, I'll be COMPLETELY RE-READING EVERYTHING that we've done so far, and updating the campaign info tab accordingly for the second time. The last time I did, however, it got eaten by the forum gremlins, and I was beside myself with rage.
That said, I'll be writing it in word and then posting it quickly, this time. I'll be sure to inform you all when I've finished it, and I plan on Organizing it rather well, as well as giving details on the quest at hand.
If anyone has any questions about prior happenings to the current situation, now would most certainly be the time to ask. A lot has happened.
Also don't worry, you get to kill stuff soon

Aviz |

I believe we're just unsure of how to proceed beyond simply starting.
Also, is there any particlar reason you marked the whole party as NPCs?

Aviz |

I believe there's just some spinning wheels right now because we're all looking at each other to move the game along. I hope this game isn't belly up.

Deylar Tiarshuro |

I doubt we're done ..... im more thinking its a chance for us to chat and learn more and we just aren't the most talkative group. As for me, Im ready to move forward even though my spider-sense says we're missing a cue as to what we could be asking about at this point.
Wouldn't be surprised if there was a big update and flurry of activity in our immediate future!

Aviz |

Well it does make it so I have to search through my aliases instead of having Aviz right at the top. Not horrible since his name starts with an "a", but for other people I imagine it could be rather annoying.
