Gilmork |
I'll be taking a good look at the Player's Guide and see if anything tickles my fancy, but I'm game for another campaign.
Also Silas, if you ever make another Belt of Incredible Dexterity, Gilmork would like one as well. Adds more attack and AC, so that's a plus.
Silas Hawkwinter |
Sure Silas will make you one of those too. Cost will be 2040g again. I've updated the loot log.
Michael Stamford |
Silas, the first adventure fulfills that desire. There's something the players have to do to stop a town from getting wiped off the map by a big kaboom.
Hecktor - D&D was doing Fantasy mixed with Sci-Fi back in its earliest days. 1976 convention play for OD&D, 1980 release for 1st Edition AD&D, module S3: Expedition to the Barrier Peaks has the players exploring a spaceship that crashed into a mountainside. In all seriousness, from what I've seen so far with book 1, Iron Gods is playing up that link pretty heavily. And I really hope it continues to do so.
Gilmork |
Not sure if there's already a recruitment/discussion thread opened for Iron Gods, but I'm thinking, depending on the other build-ups, about something with an animal companion.
Seeing as the listed suggestions for animals in Player's Guide include an aurochs and a mastodon I'd like to know if any of these are considered inappropriate for the game as things seem to be urban or underground based (according to the Guide).
Also are Advanced Classes an option?
Lucanor |
Okay, spent the gold for the orphanage. :)
And I think I'm leaning towards either a human barbarian (Perhaps rip of Thundar directly and have him an ex slave of the technic league) or a stormborn sorcerer who's heritage was triggered by tesla coils ;) if either niche is desired by someone else, let me know and I can take the other.
GM Niles |
With you guys as players I'm ok with whatever, seriously. Go nuts. Just don't optimize too much then it becomes more work for me to upgrade monsters and whatnot. Nothing made for Iron Gods yet, but I'll make one and link it here shortly.
Silas Hawkwinter |
Niles the downtime summary seems accurate to me, would you like us to RP anything to kick start the next adventure?
Edit: apparently I'm mistaken. Hecktor did offer to help out.
Silas Hawkwinter |
Give me a shout when the party have declared what classes they want to play. I'll fill the gaps.
Silas Hawkwinter |
Unless I'm mistaken, Syntira's gift is a wand of haste which is something we will want to use a lot! I think somebody other than Silas should have it for two reasons:
1. I'd prefer not to spend two rounds buffing every combat :)
2. Silas's wealth is really quite high for his level already.
So I think Jaxom should keep it since he's the only other one that can use it.
GM Niles |
Also, feel free to do a little introduction in spoilers if you wanna knock that out before we get to the actual adventure.
I was just itching to get started, we have been in downtime mode for like 3 weeks.
Silas Hawkwinter |
Let's do the intro in spoilers.
Anyway Jaxom can you keep the wand of haste and use it where you think its needed?
Silas Hawkwinter |
Cool I'll add your stuff to the party loot tracker spreadsheet later.
Silas Hawkwinter |
Good is boring, let's murder him?
Gilmork |
If he goes wandering off by himself, we're not at fault, though the Gavel would probably make it seem like we are.
Luckily Gilmork is TN, I could try to track a werewolf or something...
Silas Hawkwinter |
I guess this is a batman style thing, I shouldn't kill him, but we don't have to save him either.
Silas Hawkwinter |
He might come back from that and hold a grudge.
Silas Hawkwinter |
Cool I'll add your stuff to the party loot tracker spreadsheet later.
This is done.
Silas Hawkwinter |
If Payden is honest nothing bad will happen. If he has sticky fingers, his hands will get burnt.
Silas Hawkwinter |
BTW I've seen some GMs use different avatars for major NPCs. Seems like a nice idea. One GM even uses different avatars for different NPC types in combat, although that may be going a bit far.
Silas Hawkwinter |
I'm not sure how far the body of the slain Eagle Knight is. If its far enough away that we need to camp before getting there I think there would be a good opportunity for some of us to try and search harder in the early hours before the Sheriff gets there with the rest of us. Of course it may no longer be there, and the woods may not be safe.
Silas Hawkwinter |
But of course he wouldn't go alone. I think we need to pick a fight with something and get them injured.
Michael Stamford |
I know I'm not an active participant in the game anymore and can't really direct how things go, but if what I read is right and Michael is now a part of the Eagle Knights, he'd be more than willing to help in any way he could once he caught wind of it.
Remember, he's a party resource now. Use him as needed.
Silas Hawkwinter |
Mmm good point.
Silas Hawkwinter |
I must have missed that part of the mission? He's buried at least I suppose. Silas feels bad he's not buried somewhere better however.
Silas Hawkwinter |
I wonder how much to push the we have an incriminating letter thing.
Silas Hawkwinter |
Niles how many hours of travel have we had so far? I'm guessing 4?
GM Niles |
Yes. You have traveled a total of about 16 miles 6 of which was in very rough terrain which required 1/2 speed movement. However long that takes....I don't feel like doing all the math.
Silas Hawkwinter |
Fair enough :)
GM Niles |
My bad guys....I goofed on Gilmork's turn. I was waiting for him to post and it turned out he had posted before I did my recap this morning.
Silas Hawkwinter |
Sure, they can fight the canon fodder, we grab the glory? Of course they probably have the same idea. That and the kobolds will have rigged various traps...
GM Niles |
I don't know if I've said this before, but I think I need to do so now.
Thanks for being great players. You guys don't push the envelope too much with cheesiness, you help me make cool stories, you don't even call me out too much on my mistakes, and most importantly you make time each day to post in the game. I do appreciate that a ton. Thanks.
Saying the above because I'm GMing another game where I feel forced to beg my players to make posts. 2/5 post regularly but the others post far less than my expectation. I'm at the point where I'm thinking of just canceling it. I don't think I've ever had to beg you guys to post more, typically you guys post just as much as I do. Some days the gameplay thread is pretty much all you guys going back and forth with hardly anything from me and I enjoy that just as much.
Thanks for a great game. Lets make Iron Gods just as kickass.
Silas Hawkwinter |
Thanks Niles.
Onto the combat, Silas is going to try and avoid burning through all his bardic performance rounds. I suspect the standard action inspire is going to be annoying.
