Michael Stamford |
Just an FYI, from Thursday until Saturday I may not be able to post. I'll be staying somewhere without PC access and where my cell carrier's coverage is spotty and fickle at best. I'll try to post if I can, but no guarantees.
GM Niles |
At a conference today, sorry for the lack of updates. I'll attempt to get something posted tonight or tomorrow morning.
Silas Hawkwinter |
I'm back, got a lot of reading to do (OMG @ work email I can't believe how much I have unread after just 2 weeks).
Just so everyone knows, Niles agreed to let me rebuild Silas a little. Since we're so melee heavy I've dropped the archetype which means Inspire Courage. I think you'll all like that :) The bardic knowledge will be handy too I reckon. Apart from that Silas will still be his sarcastic self, happy to point out all the flaws in the enemy's footwork and sword play. Oh and I imagine he'll want to hit the bar once we're back in town, Hecktor lets get some of that poitin? ;)
Silas Hawkwinter |
Profile updated.
@Niles for some reason I'd forgot to put any points into Sense Motive in that stat block I sent you, which is a little daft, so I've moved 1 from disguise. Hope that's OK :)
Silas Hawkwinter |
Just wondering, is there a way of getting an email alert for new posts?
Michael Stamford |
Nope. Not even one for new PMs. Paizo doesn't want to have people get spammed by stuff like that, and so they've kinda ruled it out.
But, if you have an RSS reader, you can subscribe to the thread using that. There are icons in the top right for subscribing to the RSS feeds for subscribing to gameplay, discussion, and recruitment.
Silas Hawkwinter |
Yeah that makes sense, too bad the internet is full of spammers. I may try an RSS reader, thanks for the suggestion. It wouldn't be so bad if the paizo site was faster - ah well.
Silas Hawkwinter |
Test to see if blogtrottr.com RSS to email works :)
Michael Stamford |
Man, a round opener of 24 damage with just my attack. That's going to be hard to top. I hope the splatterfest continues, though. I'd like one combat to happen without a bunch of us whiffing all over the place.
Silas Hawkwinter |
Inspire should help a little with that. Later on there'll be good hope and haste ;)
Michael Stamford |
Breaking the fourth wall a bit with that hideous laughter, aren't you Silas?
Silas Hawkwinter |
A little ;)
I guess verisimilitude would be stretched slightly if Silas was to conjure memes to power hideous laughter... If Silas knew of it he'd dearly like to introduce golorion to 4chan.
Silas Hawkwinter |
@Hideous Laughter
Would you all prefer if I was to RP it like the following rather than listing the jokes (I agree the last lot where not totally in keeping with the setting):
Silas takes a deep breath and in his stage voice unleashes a veritable torrent of off colour jokes and puns upon the hapless cultist. Implying inappropriate liaisons between high ranking cult members and relatives of a certain Fr brimshaw then branching off into a mockery of the lead cultist's voice...
Silas Hawkwinter |
Hopefully after the battle somebody with spellcraft can help Silas figure out why the spell didn't do anything :)
Mind you, cultists are a humourless lot...
Michael Stamford |
Either way works for me. I just thought that breaking the fourth wall wasn't that fitting.
Michael Stamford |
Ok, now something has got to be screwed up with my dice today. Either that or I'm blowing through my next year's worth of good rolls.
Michael Stamford |
I was thinking about maybe trying to chase the leader down on round 3, but he'll have had 2 rounds head start by then. So yea, let's go with Silas's idea and just grab a cultist. Beat him until he's on death's door, stabilize him, tie him up, and drag him to town.
Michael Stamford |
Split the group? Me, Gared and Silas can take old crazyballs to the sheriff while Percival, Hecktor, and Lucanor take the ingredients to the herbalist. Meet up afterwards and hit the temple, followed by the lumber camp.
Sound good to you guys?
GM Niles |
Please don't think that my list was an exhaustive list of things you "have" to do.... The list was merely expressive of what you "could" do.
Michael Stamford |
From the post, looks like 4 free lumberjacks, 3 consortium goons. Could be more for either side waiting in the wings though.
Silas Hawkwinter |
I figured there'd be a fight at some stage, I was expecting cultists but free lumberjacks vs consortium goons figures. I reckon the 4 of you can handle it.
Silas Hawkwinter |
Haha yeah a bard makes a great agent provocateur. Mind you having a non-evil alignment means Silas is quite unlikely to provoke something like that.
Still I'm thinking we'll have some sort of confrontation with either the magistrate and or the consortium and Silas may be up for getting the people on our side (think tavern songs and the like. I'm going to keep Silas's disguise skill up for plausible deniability and scouting missions)
Silas Hawkwinter |
The use of the grease spell on the riot could be amusing. Actually I quite like the idea of ghost sound to pretend a bunch of troops are marching down the street with bluff used to pretend one of us is the captain of the troops ready to arrest the rioters.
Anyway Silas isn't there which is probably for the best (he'd see defusing it as a challenge).
Michael Stamford |
Any news on Michael's parents or is it going to be the perpetually hanging thread that gets me to kill Payday?
I kinda hope it's the latter. Ooh! Or maybe there's some kind of twist where they've turned evil and are cultists now!
Michael Stamford |
Silas just reminded me that I need to go back and update the party loot list. I think the last time I updated it was when right after the goblins on the way out to the tree.
Silas Hawkwinter |
Was that a Google doc or something? Would be handy if we could get the link on the campaign info tab :)
Michael Stamford |
Nah, it wasn't a google doc. It was just me keeping track using my character sheet.
I could definitely do a doc like that though, so I'll try and get it done in the next day or two.
Silas Hawkwinter |
I've used google spreadsheets for tracking party loot before, seems to work OK.
Silas Hawkwinter |
Silas would be amused to get a giant party going on in the hollow at some stage. Obviously people will need something worth celebrating...
Michael Stamford |
Ok, I've got the loot sheet started. I'm functionally retarded when it comes to spreadsheets though, so I've just done it up simple.
I'll get the item values and everything added in soon, and I figure that once we handle loot distribution and sell stuff I'll clear anything that is no longer considered to be communal loot off of the list. So basically anything that's sold, used up, or claimed by a player will get taken off the list. That way we keep the list short and easily readable.
Also, if anyone wants edit access, PM me with your email so that I can add you. Otherwise I'll keep it locked to just being viewable with the link.
EDIT: I can't find the pricing rules for wands with partial charges. I could have sworn that I saw them somewhere, but I don't know where.
Also, I should point out that the values I'm placing in the sheet are the full values of items and not their resale values. If you want me to change it to resale values, or to add a separate column for that, I can.
GM Niles |
Awesome, thanks for doing this Michael. This helps me as the GM also. The link is in the campaign notes at the top.
Silas Hawkwinter |
That's way more loot than I'd realized. Thanks for doing that!
Somebody should probably claim that axe (Gared uses hand axes doesn't he?) I'll have to figure out if Silas can use them, but the cause fear scrolls could be handy for him to have (crowd control).
Michael Stamford |
Just realized I did my math wrong in that. The platinum is only 10gp, and I added everything up as if the platinum was 100gp. We've got a total value of 8683gp, not 17683. Sorry about that.
Silas Hawkwinter |
I think we should upgrade everyone's weapons to masterwork at least (assuming they're avaliable) and get better armour too.
I was thinking of getting a long spear for Silas, which leads me to this: how does everyone feel about the flag bearer feat storywise? It would imply we'd become a group with its own heraldic banner. Seems plausible by level 3 or 5.
Gared the Ranger |
Well, speaking personally, the most likely course of action would be to depose Kreed and take up the mantle of Protectors of the Vale or something similar. Kreed is a baleful influence on the local area and removing him would improve the Hollow's fortunes considerably.
How do we sell this to the Consortium? Improved profits through a happier workforce which is liable to increase production.
Or, we get rid of the Consortium altogether and attempt to ally ourselves with a friendly nation, like Andoran, for greater protection.
Silas Hawkwinter |
The consortium probably only care about money. As long as the rule of law becomes strong enough they can't subvert it, and theres money to be made they'll adapt.
Kreed seems like he has to go.
