Ok..all set and ready to go!

Technic Siege/Full Map

Looks good! I have one more player coming in with a bard. Should give us a nice mix. And Sera, go ahead and tweak your build.

I'll put up some more exposition/story while we're waiting on this next part. Ideas are starting to boil over again!

Liberty's Edge

Today all sort sof crazy ideas came boiling to the surface. The craziest: publish the Louwidar Campaign Setting as a Pathfinder Compatible product.

I can't even begin to imagine how much work that would take, but I CAN imgine how rewarding the process might be.

I'd really appreciate any useful feedback that you ma have on this idea. Send me a PM with any comments/critiques/etc. on the setting. And if you're willing, I could "officially" turn this adventure into a playtest!

That said, regardless of this I have a new Feat to introduce for our martial warriors:

Falcon Strike: Rapid Shot for light or one-handed melee weapons (-2 to hit, get two attacks when full attacking). Can't be used in same turn as Two-Weapon Fighting.

Female Half Elf | Warlock 3 | Spell slot 2 First 1 Second | DC: 13 | HP: 24/24 | AC: 14 | Saves: S-1, D+3, Co+2, I0, W+3, Ch+5 | Passive Insight and Perception: 13 |

I'm fine with whatever you want to do, I just ask that we become iconics in the book :D

Re: the feat, seems a bit too good because it essentially replaces two weapon fighting and saves the PC the cost of a second weapon. What could be cool would be something like furious focus that negated the -2 for the first attack while someone is two weapon fighting.

I sort of view the feat as being like monk's flurry of blows, except replacing "monk weapons" with "light/one-handed melee weapons".

Maybe make it only be usable when you've got an empty offhand?

As for expanding things into a full-on campaign setting book... You need a pitch, something unique that would make people be like "Oh, damn, yes, I want to play here". European fantasy settings are a dime a dozen... what would make someone like Louwildar in particular?

Technic Siege/Full Map

And therein lies the rub... I can imagine that I have the ability to process large quantities of information and present them clearly and in a nice way, but that's the HARD part. Not sure yet what the hook would be

I'm not sure that I'd even necessarily want to make a product for sale, even. Maybe just print a few dozen copies for friends and relatives, etc. Perhaps I could pursue this with an on-demand vanity publisher, for instance. Ever heard of one that does RP books?

And on the feat, what if I included a minimum BAB and Dex, and also said that each hit suffered a -1 penalty to damage? Yo hit faster, but not as hard. This is heavily inspired by a special ability in the Dragon Quest VIII video game. For another:

Helm Crusher: A successful attack roll with a melee weapon of the axe or club type deals only half the normal amount of damage, but lower's your target's AC by 2 until the start of your next turn. Min Str 16 (or 18), min. BAB +4

Female Half Elf | Warlock 3 | Spell slot 2 First 1 Second | DC: 13 | HP: 24/24 | AC: 14 | Saves: S-1, D+3, Co+2, I0, W+3, Ch+5 | Passive Insight and Perception: 13 |

Its an interesting idea, but you'd definately need to flesh things out a lot more.

on the new feat, could be interesting, but you'd have to put in a caveat that multiple applications would/would not stack. I generally prefer buffs to debuffs, but I could see a fighter who has a lots of attacks/feats use it on the first hit so that his iteratives hit better.

Technic Siege/Full Map

Yeah, these ideas are only the first pass at what could be more... my imagination is no doubt larger than my ability to actually produce anything.

Likely just another idle dream that will pass.

Still, we have enough for a game, anyway!

I think it is wonderful that you are thinking of publishing and will do anything you wish to help you along.

Falcon Strike.
Probably a bit too good. With ranged your Dex determines hit and your Str (sometimes!) damage. Someone could just maximize their Strength and with this feat close to double their damage output. To be honest I think the designers intended the Vital Strike chain to cover this type of action.

Helm Crusher.
This seems to be essentially a maneuver combined with a melee attack. Maybe as a full round action you can take a -2 on your roll to hit and then get an additional roll for your CMB -2 versus their CMD or knock them offbalance so that they are at -2 AC. Just my two cents, I don't think the feat as written is particularly unbalancing.

Technic Siege/Full Map

I have so easy way to deliver bad news, but as I am sure many of you suspect, I can no longer maintain this game.

I had great hopes for this, as I really did want to bring this setting to life more in my mind, but unfortunately more work was required than I really had time to devote to it.

Thank you all for what has been a fun game, and I hope that we can can continue to meet across these boards in the future!

Yeah, unfortunate, but expected. See you in the other games. Targost should arrive at the new thread too.
