@Victor - You'll get a PFS chronicle after each book. This was Part 1 of Book 1, not the entire Book 1. The cool thing about Hell's Rebels is you get a bonus chronicle immediately when you get the first sheet, and that bonus sheet contains boons that can be used specifically for this AP.

I'm curious to see what's on these chronicle sheets, as AP chronicles tend to have some nice boons and/or magic items! Just need to decide what character to (eventually) apply them to - or if I should make a totally new character for them.

Normally, I'd say this is right, but the bonus chronicle's boons are entirely related to the Rebellion. It wouldn't make sense to apply it to a different character. I'll need to clarify so I'll either check the boards or run it by Hmm...

I had a more thorough read through the chronicles, and my initial statement about it being all AP plot-related boons wasn't right. Let me try not to spoil anything:

- The boons apply both within the AP as well as in ordinary organized play, but they're more relevant in the AP in terms of their wording. Either way, you do get similar bonuses for using these boons outside of the AP and with a different PC.

- You can continue to play your current character and you'll get a chronicle for one of your organized play PCs after each book. The valid level range for this first book is 2-4, so the PC you apply it to must be within that range.

- If your characters here are actually all PFS-valid (unlikely unless we adjust your original point buy before reaching Level 2), and want to apply these chronicles to your current PC, you could also do that and receive/use the chronicles throughout this AP.

Let me know if this clarifies it, or if I've simply confused everyone a little more... :)

How would these characters likely be not PFS valid due to point buy? We built these with 20 point buy and PFS is 20 point buy. Is there something I'm missing?

Also, I believe I'm done updating other than doing any figuring on loot/gold stuff.

Level 2!:

Mostly I just took a skill rank in the rest of my class skills, 2nd rank in Linguistics, decided to learn Strix as its a language we encountered and fits with trying to translate that book (I now know all 3 languages).

Talent: Minor Magic. I can cast a 0 level wiz/sorc spell at will. I thought about detect or read magic but thought about something different and took acid splash for a ranged touch that could sneak attack.

I changed up my ability scores a touch as my 'rebuild'. Dropping down to a 17 Dex to get my Str up to 10 and Con to 11.

Oh, I also gained Evasion.

Morvena isn't entirely PFS-legal because the Spirit Binder archetype isn't legal but I hadn't planned to build her within PFS parameters to begin with. Hopefully that was okay?

Sorry, I'd forgotten you ended up going with the standard 20 point buy! So stat-wise, we are PFS legal, but to clarify, when I recruited you guys, I mentioned I'd be running this game in Campaign Mode. This means PFS rules don't apply, and it's how Morvena was able to take the Spirit Binder archetype.

Some of your characters still fall within the limits of PFS, but they do not need to. You can take restricted feats or archetypes in campaign mode.

Campaign Mode basically means you play the adventure as if you're playing a pregen, and then apply the chronicle credit to one of your sanctioned PFS characters.

If this clarification makes you want to change your PC (to use options outside of PFS), I'm perfectly fine with that and you may go ahead.

- If you want your organization to focus on political clout and popularity, select Loyalty
- If you want your group to remain sneaky and subtle in its opposition of the government, select Secrecy as its focus.
- If you want your group to be scrappy and eager to get in fights against Thrune’s agents, select Security as its focus.

2. Please assign yourselves to Officer roles if you'd like to. Bonuses are detailed on Page 24-25 of the Player's Guide.

3. Not a question, a bonus! You will begin with an additional 3 supporters due to your silencing of Chelish loyalists at the Aria Park Riot.

PS, I'm dropping my CHA down a bit more to get some dang CON and WIS. Worthwhile trade... 16 CHA > 14 CHA for WIS 10>12 and CON 11>12. I liked the high CHA but all it really does is boost skills and so does WIS and need more HP!

What are the stipulations on selling/buying things Red? Are we doing all that in game or? We need to do some simple shopping for gear!

I noticed we don't have a gold tracker, just a tracker that tallies the value of the looted items and divides it. How did you folks want to track gold?

As we sell loot, can we just convert it to gold and keep a running tally?

If no one's interested in the unclaimed scrolls, we could just sell those as well.

To streamline this, maybe we could just hit the "sell all" button, unless a PC has claimed an item for use. It looks like the rebellion's mechanics will also require investments.

We should also consider holding onto items we haven't yet appraised or identified.

Is robbing a Thrune-backed bank one of the activity options? ;-)

Heh, I like the way you think!

Ya the excel sheet was set up with a 'sell all' mentality. I think the macros just need to be fixed for the quantity/value=total value stuff, then sum all for the bottom with a /5 up to for our split.

When we use this sheet in my other game, in order to keep loot relatively fair, if someone claims an item, it gets 'sold' and they they just pay the sell price out of their final cut. Its not perfect, as you can end up getting more cash if we find items you want. But it keeps people from collecting lots of loot that they may never really use. Large amazing, big ticket items we often just keep track of that cash and that player 'owes' cash to the group from loot sold down the line.

You can enter in group purchased loot as a negative value, like the wand of cure light, and then it just gets pulled from the total before everyone gets their cut.

Ok let me explain the loot spreadsheet to make sure everyone:

A: Understands how it works.
B: Agrees with my methods.

So as you can see everything gets entered into the spreadsheet, totals and SELL values get entered. People can claim items they are using and/or want to keep when we sell off stuff. We can also add in group loot purchases, like that wand of cure light wounds (negative value). Its used for the group benefit vs say someone's personal weapon, armor, or ring.

Everything that is being sold or bought by someone in the group gets its value in the far right column to be totaled at the top and five man split. The split will be the amount of gold your character will receive.

****Anything you are keeping from the loot list... You must subtract that amount of gold from your split/share yourself. If you don't have enough gold then you need to make arrangements to cover it (as we technically never get that gold from a merchant to be split amongst the group.) Typically we just have someone front that gold for the person that scored a sweet item until the next sell off and they get reimbursed then.

I *think* I understand how it works. Anything particular that someone might want for their character they're basically 'buying' from the rest of the group and the cost is taken out of what they would have received from a cash split, yes?

(This is why I never volunteer to be treasure/loot tracker, myself. Things get confusing for me in a hurry!)

Okay, I think I get it.

Let's say our loot will fetch us 3000 gp after selling, but we should get a wand of Cure Light Wounds for 750 gp. So we sell that from the party loot before splitting.

So now the party loot is 3000 - 750 = 2250 gp. Split that between us for 562.5 gp. This is for party gear.

So everyone else gets 750 gp, and Issil is 250 gp in debt. Either she needs to pay 250 gp, or she needs someone to lend her 250 gp/ IOU 250 gp.

Did I get that right?

Yes perfectly. The owing part works out so long as someone has the gold as obviously we can't likely give an NPC merchant an IOU, but we can certainly IOU each other.

The most important thing is that we all keep track of what we want on the party list. Its a lot simpler through voice chat in our roll20 games lol.

So you'll sell everything appraised and not currently assigned to someone that's within the current purchase limit of Kintargo.

In your Roll20 game, do you remove the item from the list and just add the gold to another spot, or leave the item and cross it out as an ongoing tally?

Usually once the loot is sold off and everyone receives their cuts, those items that have been dealt with (however that way was..) have their gold total removed from the final column and in the notes we put in the item's status: sold, bought by x, used (for say group loot), kept, etc.

We also add in date lines to help keep track of what we got when/where, but that won't work in PbP since we aren't playing one night a week. Maybe we can just put in a 'loot dealt with ^' or the encounter we found it in, don't matter much.

With our current loot, not counting those boots, looks like I'll be in the hole a bit. That cloak is a pricey item for level 2.
