The rogue looks at the statues surrounding the chamber.

"Are all these giving you the same reading, Kid?" he asks Ziusudra.

"If so, maybe we ought to leave the statues alone for now."

He looks around for any other secret passages or hidden things.

Delighted that a "veteran" field agent asked him a question, Ziusudra attemps to cast his spell, with a flourish!

But, as he gestures in what he believes to be a grand fashion, the wizard trips over his own robes. Boom! Then, he gets up and sheepishly casts Detect Magic the "normal" way.

They arent obvious from this side but it doesnt take much to think there is more. Seeing how you came out a secret door to get here.

"There's also them double doors leading out of this room. Maybe it's easier to check them out first?"

"I'm happy to check out the statues," Talon responds to Madge. "Only, someone else can be the one touching them. For example, that last one has a magic trap on it. That much I know. What it does, I have no idea, and am not much inclined to find out. But be my guest," he says.

"Otherwise, let's go around and try those doors to the east," he suggests.

Looks like the north and south doors here are higher on a catwalk, right? So let's walk around to the east, ya?

I still suggest the doors to the east, since I don't like the idea of setting off traps to get to the secret doors (unless someone else wants to hit them).

At Talon's mention of someone touching the statues, Koriar's hands instinctively grabbed Ziusudra's robe, preventing him from running around. He looks at him.

"No... and no, and absolutely no... hum, the east door looks good to me."

Aaziroth stands listening to the discussion as he looks around the room. "I agree, let's not set off the traps if we don't have to." He then heads over to the door in the east and waits for Talon to check it before opening it.

I would happily hit the traps, as I was trying to hint before. I just was hesitant because I'm playig a fresh character and I dont have my own healing wand yet and would have to crib charges from someone else. The consensus appears otherwise anyways.

Lol also no traps on the door when you open it.

The ceiling opens up between two staircases in this wide corridor, creating a shaft above the hallway. Ten feet up, the shaft appears to connect to another passage above running north-south. A grisly heap of decaying body parts lies at the bottom of the shaft. The air is rank with the smell of rot, corruption, and pungent chemicals.

"This looks like an important lead," the rogue says. "Looks like someone cutting up the dead..."

Assuming nothing ... "Keep your eyes open, and watch your step," he says as he grips his sword and shield and steps into the hallway.

If something shows up ... "Wait. Don't enter. I'm sensing evil in the room. Ziu, can you zap that with something from here so we don't have to get too close?"

Looking at the pile you see some small things moving but cant quite tell what they are. There is evil in the rubble though.

Looking at the map, the area past the east doors still hasn't been revealed. Is all this in a hallway going east, then? Is there a way past it, or do we have to climb over the pile o' gore?

Ziusudra geeks out for a few moments and takes a puff from his inhaler. The wizard then wills his Wayfinder to light and holds it aloft to get a better view.

Am I able to see that the hallway ends and there is a cross-hallway with my darkvision? Assuming I can ...

"Yeah, I saw, but couldn't tell what it was. It looks like the hallway ends up ahead. I think we would be better off looking for an alternate route. Why don't we try the south door first since I think that should connect back to the initial room we were in. Then we can go to the west door." Aaziroth waits for a response from the group and then moves to the south door. If no objections.

Halorn shakes his head, "Only if we can close these doors properly. There was somethin' movin' in that room and I'd rather not let it sneak up behind us if we get into trouble in a different room. Plus now that the door's open anythin' can probably hear us too if we cause a ruckus."

Seeing the looks from the other party members, the wizard amends his suggestion: "Maybe just one?"

Talon sees one of the creatures starting to move, and before it can jump at it, he hurls a dagger at it.

The rogue then darts to the back of the group, leaving the rest for the front-liners.

MW Dagger Attack: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (14) + 6 = 201d4 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3 sneak stab: 1d8 ⇒ 3 targeting blue, vs. flat-footed since it hasn't acted yet.

Seeing the crawling hands coming into his direction and still remembering their previous fight, Koriar retreats to a more open area.
