Edgar Bronson |

I'm back now, sorry for the delay. Is there anyway we could get the cube on the map?

Edgar Bronson |

thank you! Although thats a scary position, you were saying we'll be fine to be digested for a few rounds right? haha ;)

Edgar Bronson |

Well at least Edwin can operate the lever next round if I don’t get eated

Edgar Bronson |

yes thats true, I forgot about that. I'll need to take a minute in the morning to summon him I think. or 10 minutes I'll double check.

Menrozzar Vyrlock |

Fighting Encounters: We got attacked by three half-starved wolves on a foggy day during the first part of our investigation. We found the wagon, but no idea who released the wolves. The bodies were burned on account of how mangy they were, to prevent the spread of disease.
We had all the encounters in the Plague House, although we didn't fight the centipedes.
Speaking of the plague house, we found loot. Here's the compiled list:
Brinya's hopeknife ("To Rodrik, with Love" on it)
2 x holy water (one used)
oil of magic weapon
potion of shield of faith
2 unknown scrolls
63 sp
Another hopeknife
Heart-shaped locket
sturdy chainmail (masterwork?)
Foot-long wooden stick (magical)
Fine silver dagger (masterwork?)
red-gold symbol
6 black onyx gems
1 oz sovereign glue
2 doses of universal solvent
50' silk rope
disguise kit (6 uses remaining)
thieves' tools
noble's outfit
signet ring
237 gp
155 sp
55 cp
finely made chain shirt (masterwork?)
steel scroll case (with scroll in it)
falchion
star rose quartz amulet
20 gp
95 sp
144 cp
potion of darkvision
scroll of barkskin
scroll of ghostbane dirge
masterwork hand crossbow
10 crossbow bolts
10 cold iron bolts
10 alchemical silver bolts
Obviously we're returning Brinya's hopeknife to her, and we should try to find out about who had the locket and the other hopeknife.
Bupkis, do you want to take the thieves' tools? That way you'll have some.
We'll need some appraising for a lot of stuff, too.
Since I'm currently sporting scale mail, I might take that chainmail - although I'd like to know if it's masterwork, first.
Daseem, Ivan, how do you guys feel about the falchion?

Bupkis |

Combat Encounters:
Trunau:
Wolves
Plague House:
Giant spiders
Ghostly giant rats
Daktani
Centipedes
Gelatinous cube
Giant rats
Bupkis will take the thieves' tools

Menrozzar Vyrlock |

I was mainly asking if anyone in the group had Appraise as a trained skill. I don't think so, but I don't know everyone's capabilities.

Ivan "The Mountain" Ironbrow |

I have most of the loot from the chest I opened at the moment (planned on splitting it IC after leaving the plaguehouse)
I've no need of the falchion, as I prefer me hammer an' axes bwahaha. I don't have appraise yet, planned to take a rank or two at some point, (dwarven gems and all that) also, I don't care who keeps the gemstones, but In character, Ivan is likely going to ask to hold onto them, at least until he can figure out their proper worth.
speaking of appraise, can you take 10/20 on the checks to show your carefully looking over the item in question? Not sure how you want to do that.

Bupkis |

I don't think taking 20 applies to Appraise. Taking 20 represents retrying until you roll a 20.
Retry? Additional attempts to Appraise an item reveal the same result.
I think taking 10 would be valid.

Ivan "The Mountain" Ironbrow |

Ivan sleeps in the longhouse, so, probably next door to Menrozar

Daseem |

Menrozzar Daseem is very much a great sword kind of guy. Oh his sleeping arrangements are less comfortable tonight than he'd have liked.

Edgar Bronson |

Edwin can use it but prefers his scythe. Edgar has been sleeping with rodrick at the ramplehouse the past 2 nights. If Rodericks room is not covered he will purchase a room for him and bupkis.

Bupkis |

Bupkis will sleep at the Ramblehouse (assuming that someone else is staying there too). He's used to sleeping outside, in an enclosed hiding spot, so sleeping in a bed feels weird to him. The previous night he tried sleeping on top of the bed, but tossed and turned and couldn't relax; in the end he slept underneath the bed. If he's sharing a room with someone else, he might try sleeping in the bed, as a result of peer pressure. If he's by himself, he'll feel more secure under the bed.

Edgar Bronson |

I believe scrabbler's barn is the ramble house barn, and Daseems shed is the shed of his sweethearts aunts house?
[dice=perception] 1d20+4 not sure what the penalty for sleeping is.
In pathfinder, you get a -10 penalty to perception if you are asleep. I believe the gm is ignoring that penalty for this check.

Edgar Bronson |

Oh im happy to ignore the penalty, I doubt any of us are sleeping too heavily after whats transpired anyways. Now if only that goblin would make enough noise for me to wake up...

Bupkis |

Note that a coup de grace is a full round action.

Foxy Quickpaw |

The location of Daseem's house has been ambiguous. It might be next to the Ramblehouse, which would put his shed right next to Scrabbler's barn.
How's that sound?
There is a simple reason I put you two together in the same barn. At least one of you wakes up, shouts at the intruders and gives the other one a chance to wake too.
If you're in another building, or in the same building and simply sneak away, then Daseem has to make a fortitude save vs. DC10+2d6+2. And if he doesn't make it, he is dead. So maybe you want to change your action?

Foxy Quickpaw |

No questions, still answers.
Ivan has an AC of 20 atm (4 from chain shirt, 4 from tower shield, 2 from dex) so wouldn't have been hit, since he wasn't flat footed, unless these weapons target touch.
You roll perception and with that you are in initiative order. Ivan takes his hammer (pick up an item - move action), gets out of bed (move action), moves to his shield (probaly free or five foot step) and readies an attack. Putting on a shield would be another move action. That is two full rounds of actions, where you would get one standard action in the surprise round, before you get stabbed. I'd say it is not overly unfair to tell that you didn't put on your shield, are not at AC20 and got hit.
And I had hoped Ivan's loud speaking would have given Menrazzor a chance to wake up.
As the assassin went for the simple stab and not the CDG it wouldn't have made much of a difference, as Menrozzar gets slightly better AC when awake but still has no real chance evading it.

Foxy Quickpaw |

Sleeping rules tell, that if your sleep is interrupted, you simply continue to sleep and have to add one hour to the sleeping time needed.
I'll give loot when all fights are done. But there is nothing in it that would give you hints about the reason. Short sword, 4gold, a beryl, leather armor I think it was.

Ivan "The Mountain" Ironbrow |

I was under the assumption that he had already had the time to pick up his hammer after waking up due to the perception check. (which, he would have), as I stated he first grabbed the hammer, then he stood as he spoke and took his shield.
I'll take the hit though if you think its warranted. Really not too big of an issue I suppose. I'll make sure to specify exactly what actions I'm wanting Ivan to take in an OOC tag to avoid confusion in the future.
also, about the force ward- this is from the rules written into it.
"You always lose these temporary hit points first, even before other temporary hit points. If an attack deals less damage than you still have as temporary hit points from force ward, it still reduces those temporary hit points but otherwise counts as a miss for the purpose of abilities that trigger on a hit or a miss." so, shouldn't he not have to save?

Bupkis |

Shame I can't sleep in me heavy armor.
My Ironfang Invasion Shaman, who normally wears full plate, stepped out of his tent in the middle of the night, and was charged by two bulettes: 100 points of damage (8 claw hits, including a crit). He only survived because of his Aegis of Recovery (he was 8th lvl at the time).

Daseem |

Uh Foxy I've been pretty busy :( Putting the kids to bed, house work. All the boring stuff. Now I've got some time to write something.
