Well, bright light causes the effect. Light the spell causes light like a torch. That's fine right?

Hmm, the wording does seem to specify mechanical bright light. In that case Dalton will stand and cast light. The enemies do nothing this turn. Party up!

Ianna, are you taking a double move or a single? A single move could get you as far as P5, while a double could get you to P8 (since you're at 3/4 speed), assuming you stay on the wall. I just want to be sure so I don't misinterpret your movement.

I realized I could be more helpful to the team by getting Rilka to the door so she can slip around the golem without it attacking her.

Improved sanctuary should be renamed obnoxious invisibility.

"Kill the rogue behind us!"
"Na, I don't feel like it."

This...situation is very time sensitive so I will be closely following initiative. That means we must wait for Rilka, although I will DMPC Dalton if we get to him.

Ok, but remember: Rilka is in Canada.

Ffffuuuuuu...

I'll give her and Dalton till tonight to post, then DMPC them.

I'll post tonight when I get home from the girlfriends place.

Rilka, please specify what 2x2 area you are searching with your perception check.

So she can’t see the displacement from where she is? If she can, the 2x2 grid would include it (I don’t see any “invisible wall” on the map; pun not intended). If she can’t then just search the 2x2 OP-6&7.

In that case I'll have Rilka search NO-45, since that's the area that blocked Toramin's attack.

I have returned. Will post shortly.

Yay! How was your trip?

Well this is a rather unique problem. My keyboard has been having some serious issues of late, including certain keys being stuck down (electrically, not mechanically) and others not working at all (again, electrically). This includes my v key and 2 keys, both which are very important for posting since ctrl+v is how I paste and 2 is required for all d20 rolls. I can still post normal from my phone (like what I'm doing now), but it takes far longer.

Time to grab a new keyboard from amazon. I once lost all numbers from 1-7 and 'e', 'b', 's', and 'k'. Writing became very difficult.

I think I have everybody moved properly. Rilka wanted to move closer to the invisible wall, but she's adjacent to it. Toramin moved and hit the invisible wall, Ianna moved next to Rilka, Dalton moves up into another invisible wall, and Bjorkus didn't move. I think that's all right.

I think Rilka wanted to keep moving she did not move her full move allotment last round and seemed concerned about moving as far as possible while she could still walk (even accepting AoO to do it.) With Haste she should have been able to move at least 4 squares.

I wasn’t too clear about where Rilka was moving last round. I’ll accept where she is now and will post this round’s actions in a few minutes.

Toramin, don't forget that changing your weapon between adjacent and reach is a move action. If you moved to where Rilka was you would be adjacent to the glass golem and unable to attack it without switching your weapon mode.

Even against enemies that take up multiple squares?

Yes. Reach weapons that do not threaten adjacent squares cannot be used against adjacent foes, regardless of size.

Correct. There is a fighter archetype specifically designed to avoid this issue.

Feel free to roll our forgotten lighting damage Bjorkus.

Toramin, don't forget that since you rolled a nat 1 on an attack roll you need to make a DC 15 reflex save or drop your weapon.

I edited it into my previous post.

That's a good point. When it comes around to your turn in initiative and you start swinging, let's see how much hp it has left and if you would even attack three times.

Oh, hey Bjorkus. Vindictus updated with season 3. High level gear is way easier to get now. I've been playing for a few days and I already have half my level 90 set, and I could buy the rest if I really wanted to. It's definitely a lot funner in the high levels now.

That's cool. I'll have to take a look in the next week or so.

Lower levels were definitely a lot more fun than higher levels. At higher levels I basically couldn't do anything meaningful solo.

Bursts start from their source (in this case, Ianna) and spread outwards. Since you did not understand the rules on it (but Ianna would have) you can take a move action from last round prior to channeling. Just tell me what square you want to be in.

Has Ymir found anything or can he try to open the door from outside the room?

He is still searching and has found nothing yet.

If Rilka doesn't post by the time I get home (~4 hours) then I will DMPC her. I am open to suggestions for her actions.

No it wasn't.

Just to clarify: there is an invisible wall somewhere between N10 and N6 (where Bjorkus was last turn) that shielded him from the healing?

Oh I see, she moved but it still didn't affect Bjorkus.

Correct.

Ok everybody, two things:

1) Rilka has been gone for a few days. No big deal, she told us she was going to be busy. But I don't want to keep DMPCing her because I know what's going on, so I can't take any unbiased actions with her beyond "I shoot a golem". Totally open for action suggestions.

2) What are you guys thinking of this situation? It's kind of like a complex puzzle fight, taking multiple elements and throwing them together. Is it fun? Annoying? Just wanting some feedback.

Male Dwarf Paladin (Stonelord) 11 l HP: 105/105 (127/127) l Init: +1 l AC: 30 (44 v giants) [T: 12 (14); FF: 27; CMD: 29/33(43)] l Fort: +13 (+15), Ref: +7, W: +9 (+11) (All saves increase by +5 for p, sp, and spls) l DR: 5 (Adamantine) l Per: -1

1). I don't know. It would be easier if the stone golem hadn't made its save.

2.) I find this combat a little frustrating because it has been going on for like two weeks now? I want to get back to the story. It kinda killed the momentum we had when we were posting a lot. As for the puzzle part? I don't mind the walls or the water (though it seems stolen straight from Kingsmen, though if that was the inspiration Bjorkus is in luck -- heroes get anal.)

Yeah I hadn't intended it to drag on this long. Two people getting busy didn't help. However that's just part of the nature of the beast when it comes to PBP. Luckily the rest of the training is a montage; this is here to give you guys an example of how serious and complex the physical portion of their training is.

Yes, the water idea was stolen from Kingsmen. The rest was my own design :P

I just had surgery. Nothing life threatening, but I'm going to be in a lot of pain and on a lot of drugs the next week. I'm a pretty tough guy so I'll try to resume posting ASAP, but right now I'm absolutely bedridden.

Male Dwarf Paladin (Stonelord) 11 l HP: 105/105 (127/127) l Init: +1 l AC: 30 (44 v giants) [T: 12 (14); FF: 27; CMD: 29/33(43)] l Fort: +13 (+15), Ref: +7, W: +9 (+11) (All saves increase by +5 for p, sp, and spls) l DR: 5 (Adamantine) l Per: -1

Take care of yourself!

While you guys have some time to think, brainstorm what else you would like to know about the Aestherics. Part of your training is getting a lot of history lessons about their past actions.

Rilka sent me this via Twitter:

I'm having trouble with the internet this weekend + signing into paizo. Please have Rilka be DMPCed and let the others know.

Thanks Bjorkus.

Well if it's up to me to run Rilka, I'm probably going to spend her actions searching for invisible walls in locations based on die rolls. I don't think that's the best option, but as I said, it's hard to take an unbiased action for her since I know what's going on. Completely open to suggestions.

Male Dwarf Paladin (Stonelord) 11 l HP: 105/105 (127/127) l Init: +1 l AC: 30 (44 v giants) [T: 12 (14); FF: 27; CMD: 29/33(43)] l Fort: +13 (+15), Ref: +7, W: +9 (+11) (All saves increase by +5 for p, sp, and spls) l DR: 5 (Adamantine) l Per: -1

I think her actions should be towards getting out of the room. What do you think she would do based the ingenuity (or lack thereof) she has displayed in the past?

It's true that you oog know the best course of action. It's also fair that you don't want her to make the "right" choice simply because you are the DM. However, the inverse should also be fair: you don't want her to make the "wrong" choice simply because you are the DM. It's really a question of acting from the character's perspective irrespective of your knowledge.

Do you have reason to believe that Rilka would see some value in looking for walls? If so, she should do that. If you do not, then perhaps she should do something else?

Right, any choice I would make would either be deliberately right or wrong. I see looking for walls as a sort of neutral action that would benefit the party as a whole, since you guys are still constantly running into problems by not knowing where the walls are.

Ianna, you would have to move around the wall to reach that spot, 40 ft. of movement and you're at 1/2 speed from difficult terrain (and your haste has been dispelled).

Female Dwarf Priest 6/Exalted of Bolka 3 l HP: 62/62 l Init: +5 l AC: 11 [T: 11; FF: 10; CMD: 13] l Fort: +13, Ref: +7, W: +15 (All saves increase by +3 for p, sp, and spls) l Per: +11

I was double moving, but I forgot about the haste being dispelled. Send me half eay there.
