Haste would have lasted 7 rounds, so if you aimmeadiately went in there I'd assume it would still be up. The GM would need to confirm ofc, as well as about how many rounds occured between the Mound fight and this new one.

Amar cocks his head as the half-orc yells out to small creatures darting amongst the muck. [i]I did not know half-orcs could commune with beasts. When a large discharge of lightning shocks Unnvar however, the eidolon surges forward to assist.

If Unnvar and Sarsczek haven't already the three visible lizards:
Amar moves forward, past the tiefling towards the far edge of the room before striking out at the closest lizard.

If the northern shocker lizards are killed:
Arriving too late to aid Elaqis' allies. Amar stops at the entrance of the room. "Are you all right? We should be careful." he says as he scans for more danger.

He will stop at the southwestern portion of the hallway. If he notices any more shocker lizards, he will punch the nearest one.

Yes, haste is still on. I don't believe Unnvar wasted more than a round or two before disturbing the occupants in this room.

Unnvar Cleaves through all 3 lizards, but they stay standing . . . barely.

Sarsczek moves in and his keen sight sees the 3 lizards hiding along the south wall. As he goes to grab one, the room once again fills with electricity (this time from the 3 that Sarsczek is disturbing).

Electricity Damage: 6d8 ⇒ (2, 8, 5, 2, 5, 8) = 30
Reflex DC 13 for half: Unnvar and Sarsczek

Sarsczek then grapples one.

Amar then moves in and swings at one of the lizards Unnvar cleaved. His claws dig into the throat of the lizard and he pushes it against the wall. It falls lifeless into the refuse pile.

Elaqis trudges on nearly waste deep in the muck.

Sarsczek begins a methodical search of the room, searching for hidden crevices, doors, traps, more hiding laser lizards, drawings of historical significance, or something good to eat. He carefully upturns rubble with his tail, and sweeps through the cracks with his claws as he leaves no inch of the room unchecked.

Assuming the party gives him enough time to be methodical, he'll take 20 searching the room. If they want to move onward he'll take 10 for a total of 20. Either way he'll probably need to roll for finding traps, lest he step in one...

Perception (trapfinding): 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (12) + 13 = 25 For the rest of the lizard room.

Once he's confident that an accurate representation of the room and entryway have been captured for reporting, he gives a sharp nod and grin.

"Okay! Now for the door... I wonder what's behind?"

He inspects the door, looking for hidden wires, runes, chemicals, or the sounds of lurking creatures. You get the sense that his goofy personality has no bearing on his professional acumen.

Perception (trapfinding): 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (2) + 13 = 15 Checking the northern door.

Once everyone has finished healing up (he could use a bit of healing) and is ready he'll lead the charge into the next room.

Male Gnome Bard 16, Storyteller (aka DM)

Searching the laser lizard room, you find nothing more than the description above.

The room to the right:

This twenty-foot-square room is home to a foot and a half of stagnant water that covers everything but a wide shelf on the east wall. That shelf contains a score of fifteen-inch-tall statues carved of shiny white stone, each of jackal-headed humanoids in different poses and holding different accoutrements. Ancient Osiriani hieroglyphs and jagged sigils cover the walls, in jarring contrast to each other.

Anyone speak Ancient Osiriani? Otherwise a Linguistics check is needed to decipher the hieroglyphs. Give yourself a +5 if you speak modern Osiriani.

The Door:

Upon examining the door, Sarsczek's diligence pays off. He notices that holding the door open is a small statue of a jackal-headed man holding 2 kukris in the same pose as the figure in the bas-relief depicted on the door itself. Further you notice a portion of the bas-relief is strangely indented, in a way that does not fit the rest of the sculpture. It looks to be the same shape and size as the base of the statue.

Scarab Sages

Sarsczek Male N Tiefling Slayer 6 / Living Monlith 3, Level 9, Init 3, HP 74/74, DR 1/-, Speed 30 AC 20, Touch 13, Flat-footed 17, CMD 26, Fort 11, Ref 10, Will 8, CMB +13, Base Attack Bonus 8

Sarsczek speaks Ancient Osiriani. Only Ancient Osiriani, not regular. He's... weird.

Sarsczek walks around and begins inspecting the hieroglyphs, recording them along with their translations. "Hmm, in-terr-ess-sting writing. Been a long time since I saw dees glyphs. Oh, also, part of the door has a weird thing in it. I think the statue might fit into it. I'll give it a try if you wan me too. Lemme just get all dis first."

He looks around at the party.

"Wha? Yeah, I can read... you think dats funny?"

Male Gnome Bard 16, Storyteller (aka DM)

Sarsczek is able to translate the following in both Ancient Osiriani and Abyssal:

In Ancient Osiriani: The pictograms recount the rise to power of the Dog Pharaoh, referring to him as the Jackal Pharaoh, and a conflict between himself and a rival pharaoh known as the Illumined Pharaoh. At the time of the engraving, their conflict had apparently not been resolved, and several references to ongoing feuding persist among the historical accounting.

In Abyssal: The jagged symbols are Abyssal characters which speak of the Jackal Pharaoh’s armies of gnolls, jackalweres and yaenit demons.

Sarsczek finds the statue he's looking for is holding the door open a crack. Assuming he pulls the statue free, the door shuts, but the statue base fits as he thinks it should.

There's an audible click and the door swings open. Immediately the water that filled the room, rushes through the door and down the hole in the stairwell, pushing everyone along with it, except Amar who I believe is flying.

Still waiting on Reflex Saves from Sarsczek and Clandelve.

Those of you that didn't fall down a hole notice that the entry room is now void of water except for a small stream coming in through the door and down into the pit Clandelve sprung.

As you make your way down the stairs toward the hole Sarsczek may or may not have fallen into you see:

[i]The stairway descends into stagnant, murky water. The north wall features two fifteen-foot-tall mosaics of the Dog Pharaoh flanking a series of smaller hieroglyphs arranged in rows and columns. The east and west walls give glimpses of the top half of faded and water-stained frescos depicting pleasure slaves and vast wealth in a desert oasis paradise.[/ooc]

Standard action to dismiss Amar. If Clandelve and Sarsczdek are not in the pit, I am planning on summoning 1d4+2 small water elementals to scout out the room and see if there are any doors, drainage systems, etc.

If either party member does fall into the pit of course, I'll hold off on that until we find a way to get them safely back.

Clandelve sputters and curses as the water carries him away, though only when his head is above water.

reflex save: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (10) + 5 = 15 Add another +7 if this is a spell or spell-like ability, though that seems unlikely.

EDIT: For what it's worth, I have a +5 swim modifier even in my armor should that come into play.

Owyn is swept off his feet by the water but doesn't end up in the hole. He is quick to stand, though, and wrings out his cloak before using his ability to detect evil within the room.
Anything pinging in this room, GM?

Male Gnome Bard 16, Storyteller (aka DM)

Clandelve and Sarsczek are swept away and both fall down their respective pits.

Clandelve falls 30' to the spikes below.

Clandelve:

30' Fall Damage: 3d6 ⇒ (2, 1, 5) = 8
Number of Spikes: 1d4 ⇒ 4
Spike Attack 1: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (6) + 15 = 21
Spike Attack 2: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (1) + 15 = 16
Spike Attack 3: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (8) + 15 = 23
Spike Attack 4: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (12) + 15 = 27

Only the last spike hits Clandelve: Piercing Damage: 1d4 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6

Clandelve needs to make a FORT save DC 17

Failed Save: STR Damage: 1d2 ⇒ 2

Sarsczek falls 20' to the spikes below.

Sarsczek:

20' Fall Damage: 2d6 ⇒ (2, 4) = 6
Number of Spikes: 1d4 ⇒ 1
Spike Attack 1: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (8) + 15 = 23

Sarsczek almost avoids the spikes in the pit, but one catches him in the leg.

Piercing Damage: 1d4 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6

As the water clears his eyes and he regains his composure from the fall, he finds he's lying right next to an ancient (impaled) corpse.

Clandelve and Sarsczek:

You both hear each other fall and see yourselves about 25 feet from each other.

Water drips and cascades constantly from holes in the low ceiling of this corridor. Metal grates topped with rusted spikes periodically pierce the floor at uneven intervals.

The cooridor is 10' wide and 7' tall except where the traps are. The spikes seem to sit on a grate which is draining the water that has fallen from the floor above.

Owyn:
You detect no evil

As Clandelve slides away from Unnvar's outstretched arm, the half-orc bounces to his feet, retrieving his 100 foot silk rope, he ties it off around his waist, making sure to leave plenty of slack, he tosses the rest into the hole. Anchoring his legs in place and gripping the rope tightly, ready to pull when he feels resistance on the other end. His face contorting once again to that of a bull. (feral focus)

Clandelve grab ahold I'll help you climb out! Hoping to hear the dwarves frustrated swears coming from the dark hole.

"Clandelve seems okay. And uh, guys! There's a body down here. Really old body. Also there are spikes."

Sarsczek carefully goes over the body, looking for anything of historical importance, along with anything of value. Once he's satisfied, he makes sure that Clandelve is able to ascend the rope before doing so himself.

"Cheers. Lit me check thes corpse first," he says as he examines the ancient bones.

Sarsczek and Clandelve find a potion and a very nice, thin rope in near perfect condition.

Climb DC is 10 to climb the rope back up to Unnvar.

You do see a long hallway with 2 more sets of pit-spikes past Sarsczek. See the map.

"Der's more spikes down the hall. Prob'ly more holes like this one."

Sarsczek makes several paces down the hall, squints and looks towards the spikes, then follows Clandelve up the rope.

He peers down the now opened passage and does his best to estimate the the locations of any more of these spike traps.

"I guess we should get Me'n Clandy patched up and move on."

12 dmg on me total.
