Hack-It |

Hack-It and Hum both light it up
Corona Laser Pistol: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (3) + 9 = 12
Zero Rifle: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (18) + 9 = 27
Damage: 1d8 + 6 ⇒ (8) + 6 = 14

Game Master S |

Hack-it's aim is off, but his tech qork on Hum pays off as the drone freezes off a chunk of flesh!
Round 2:
R1G5: Go
Booker: Go
Janzi: Go
Hostile: TBD
Dunklezahn: TBD
Gig: TBD
Hack-it: TBD
ACROCHOR: 35

![]() |

Let him go!
R1G5 tries another juke.
Stealth vs DC 20 + CR: 1d20 + 18 ⇒ (12) + 18 = 30 If successful, target is Flat-Footed (-2 AC) for R1G5' attack only.
Disintegrator Pistol: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (12) + 10 = 221d10 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4 If the Stealth check was successful and the attack hits, target takes 3d8 ⇒ (5, 4, 3) = 12 additional damage is Flat-Footed (-2 AC) until R1G5' next turn.

Game Master S |

This time R1G5 has all the right moves! A chunk of the monster turns to dust!
Round 2:
R1G5: Hit
Booker: Go
Janzi: Go
Hostile: TBD
Dunklezahn: TBD
Gig: TBD
Hack-it: TBD
ACROCHOR: 51 (FF, Grappled)

Torin Janzi |

Janzi summons the last bit of mental power he has and gives the snake a mind thrust. Mk 2: 4d10 ⇒ (10, 8, 10, 1) = 29 DC 16 Will for half

Game Master S |

Will: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (10) + 7 = 17 Janzi rattles the alien's mind, but it seems hellbent on the task at hand.
Round 2:
R1G5: Hit
Booker: Go
Janzi: MM
Hostile: TBD
Dunklezahn: TBD
Gig: TBD
Hack-it: TBD
ACROCHOR: 65 (FF, Grappled)

Booker Broadshaw |

Booker dumps still more lead at the thing, if not into the thing.
Rapid Shot @ Snake: 1d20 + 12 + 1 - 2 - 3 ⇒ (9) + 12 + 1 - 2 - 3 = 17
Damage: 2d10 + 8 + 3 ⇒ (1, 8) + 8 + 3 = 20
Rapid Shot @ Snake: 1d20 + 12 + 1 - 2 - 3 ⇒ (8) + 12 + 1 - 2 - 3 = 16
Damage: 2d10 + 8 + 3 ⇒ (4, 8) + 8 + 3 = 23
Bleh.

Game Master S |

Booker takes two quick shots. His first connects, blowing a hole in the serpent's body.
It's enough to change its mind. The severely wounded creature releases Dunklezahn and quickly slithers back into the overgrown flora which covers the rubble heap.
For defeating the Acrochor, the party earns 4,800 XP.

Gig Razorbyte |

"Oh my gods! That was terrifying! Did you see the way that serpent wanted to eat us! I probably hasn't had a good meal in years! Thanks, Booker for saving us, again."

Gig Razorbyte |

”I’ll check for you, Booker.”
Gig looks around the doors for any mechanisms that look dangerous.
Perception: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (13) + 8 = 21
”I don’t think we’ll find anything more dangerous than that snake.”

Game Master S |

Indeed, neither R1G5 nor Gig find anything dangerous. The heavy door is jammed in place though. It doesn't look like it's intentional, more that the door mechanisms aren't receiving any power.

![]() |

Yeah, I'm good. Give me a moment to stretch out my muscles a bit. That thing had a nasty squeeze. Man, I hate grabby s%+~.
Dunk takes 10 minutes to recover, spending a RP.

![]() |

Seeing the techs having issues powering the door open, Dunk does a quick shoulder stretch and grabs hold of the door.
Athletics(Take 10) = 25

Hack-It |

Hack-It stops Dunklezahn before he tries to tear the door off its hinges. "Hold up, big guy. Let me try a thing first. If this doesn't work, you can have your fun."
The ysoki then pulls out an engineering toolkit, scans the door closely with his wrist console, and hunts for any appropriate cabling so that he can install a bypass and hook it up to an external battery.
Hum hums away over the mechanic's shoulder. The drone swivels about, hunting for enemy targets menacingly with its zero rifle attachment.
Engineering: 1d20 + 17 ⇒ (19) + 17 = 36

Game Master S |

Dunklezahn gives it a straight forward try, and only gets the door partially open, not enough to squeeze through Not enough for success, but you know it's within your ability.
Hack-it looks it over and figures he can do one of two things; either expend 20 charges of a battery to power the door enough to open it once, or give a solid search for some kind of access panel.

Gig Razorbyte |

Gig looks over at Hack-Its work approvingly. "Where did you learn to do that kind of finagling? It looks like all you are missing is the juice. Here, I have this battery, let's hook it up and see if it will give us the power we need."
Gig pulls out his Optima Deep Cycle 12 Platinum battery and begins connecting it to the door. He finishes it off with the casting of transfer charge to ensure the power gets to the right place.
Engineering: 1d20 + 17 ⇒ (18) + 17 = 35

Hack-It |

"Oh here and there. You pick up things when you're a mechanical genius," Hack-It states humbly. "Thanks for the battery. Saves me from using my spare."

Game Master S |

The battery works like a charm. The door opens, but it also temporarily powers a recorded welcome. Janzi translates what he can...
“Welcome to…” The audio becomes garbled. “…Istamak, shining city of progress! Come…” Static obscures several patches of the next few sentences. “…to witness… living history…” The music playing under the words increases in volume for a few moments, drowning out some of the voice. “Don’t hesitate to ask questions… and come again soon!”
While the donated battery gets the door open, it's not enough to illuminate the interior. Still, there's enough light from outside, and you can see most of this room clearly. The murals continue in this room, this time showing smaller figures in the streets of a stylized city looking in reverence toward a large archway to the west leading into a wide, dark hallway. There is a small counter in the northwestern corner, and a number of dusty shelves and empty hooks occupy the eastern side of the room.
Map updated. Remember, if you roll dice, the map needs to be updated. Just sayin'.

Torin Janzi |

Janzi listens intently, then turns to the party in disbelief. A crummy commercial..?

Game Master S |

The lights don't work. The power is off inside.

Booker Broadshaw |

Botting:
R1G5 takes a more serious look for an access panel. Take 20: 20 + 13 = 33
The android then joins Booker inside for a closer look. Perception: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (5) + 13 = 18

Game Master S |

Outside R1G5 continues to poke around. After giving it plenty of time while Dunklezahn rests, the android does find a hidden release, but it's not a power junction. It's a door! Unopened, but labeled on the map.
Ignoring it for a second to heed Booker's invitation, R1G5 spies a fully charged holoskin lying in the dust on one of the shelves.

Gig Razorbyte |

Gig Razorbyte steps in and looks around.
Perception: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (5) + 8 = 13
”Are you guys finding anything interesting around here?
Gig casts detect magic and looks into the magical spectrum to see anything of note.

Game Master S |

Gig doesn't detect any magical auras in this room.

Booker Broadshaw |

Booker scoops up the holoskin and stows it in his null-space chamber. "Secret door?" he asks of the android. "What do you mean, secret door?"
R1G5 shows him. "Huh. Good find, RIGS." The old soldier kicks it in.

Game Master S |

Looks like it leads to a service corridor, narrow and unlit. Map updated.

Gig Razorbyte |

”Don’t look at me. Just because we Ysoki are small, does mean we like crawling around in dark narrow places! Hack, can we send your droid in to scout it out?”

Booker Broadshaw |

Booker turns to look back the ysoki. The veteran's gaze is impenetrable. He puts out his cigarette on the wall and steps into the narrow corridor, flicking on the lights of his suit. He pans right, then back down the corridor straight ahead, to see if anything alarms him.
Perception: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (11) + 0 = 11
Assuming nothing: After a last glance down the longer corridor, Booker turns right to the apparent dead end.

Hack-It |

Hack-It, seconds away from sending out the drone, stops when Booker moves forward. "Naw, he's got this."

Game Master S |

Booker looks down the dead end and confirms that it's a dead end.

Torin Janzi |

Janzi cautiously follows Booker in. This is clearly an accessway to other parts, he says. Probably to fool the rubes into believing they made Vladvistok the Amazing actually disappear or some such.
Perception: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (10) + 12 = 22

![]() |

R1G5 will stealthily move past Janzi down the corridor and will look around the corner. map updated
Stealth: 1d20 + 17 ⇒ (2) + 17 = 19
Perception (60' Darkvision): 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (6) + 13 = 19

Game Master S |

R1G5 moves down the hall as quietly as possible. The next corridor seems to be a dead end. map updated.

Booker Broadshaw |

Booker looks for peepholes in the walls, puzzled as to the utility of these corridors. He flicks off his flashlights and lets his infrared sensors adjust to the gloom, then follows a respectful distance behind R1G5.

Game Master S |

Booker doesn't find anything. It seems that this hallway really is just access, well, the parts he's seen anyway.

Gig Razorbyte |

Feeling a little guilty for not volunteering to step into the access tunnel, Gig calls out to Booker, ”If there is anything mechanical down there that you need me to fix, just let me know and I’ll be right there. Just make sure that nothing else lives down there.”

Torin Janzi |

R1G5, Janzi says, Check the walls as you go along and make sure we haven't missed another secret panel somewhere. It's the only sensible thing that this hallway suggests.
Janzi moves all the way along the corridor Booker vacated, checing the left-hand wall as he moves. If he finds nothing, he'll head back to the bend and move toward the next openings. Take 10 on Perception for 22 along the way.

Game Master S |

R1G5 checks the walls, but finds no other secret doors. Indeed, the door which led here was obvious on this side of the wall. His scouting finds something else worth bringing to the group.
An alcove in the hallways looks like it's a combination of panic room and staging area. There is a Mk 2 nullspace chamber hanging on the wall.

Torin Janzi |

Do they look ancient? This ship/temple has been here a long time.

Game Master S |

They look incredibly ancient. The scattergun in particular looks alien. There's a -1 penalty to use it until you've fired 10 shots with it. These can be practice, they need not be in combat.

Torin Janzi |

Cool, wanted to know if this was planted recently or leftover from the presumable crash.
Janzi gives a low whistle. These things are older than a grandmother on Eox.

Booker Broadshaw |

"Good find," Booker comms in admiration. "Gotta worry that the gun'll explode when ya fire it though."
He glances around the walls. "Let's check the walls on this room too."
Perception: 1d20 ⇒ 8
R1G5, want to scout south?

![]() |

What is taking those three so long?
Dunklezahn heads down the service corridor after the others. Seeing them searching the walls in vain, he continues past them to the next bend and peeks around.
