I don't know. Year's supply of random item is pretty standard game show fare. Which is not to say you won't need to wash a bad taste out of your mouth from time to time. The challenges in Xcrawl are designed to be entertaining for the masses, not you after all. Oooh. evil grin I had an idea.
Also expect things like vacations and cash prizes. (Which is the only cash legal to buy equipment for Xcrawl.

Cleo Gingerberry |

Athlete I believe. But as always happy to fill a needed position.

Cleo Gingerberry |

Nope. Didn't know the build rules other than the book links you gave me sir. So... options... I do like options.

Hey guys I've been feeling really overwhealmed over the last... 2 weeksish, and I'm trying to get back on track. I'm updating one of my four forums per day to make things a little easier. Sorry for the wait, but I'll be with you soon.
You're number 4 of 4, sorry.
Also side note: Did I not post the cards? They were in a spoiler for Brelin.

Cleo Gingerberry |

No worries Treasure. Glad you are okay. Ah, that is what those were, Cleo doesn't know so I didn't look.

Helgarr |

Hang in there Fox - we'll be here!
Brelin, go take a look under the spoiler man ;)

DM TreasureFox |

Oh I think I know where I went wrong. In the post I made on the 12th, I included a link called 'These Cards' but since I included that link in the OOC part, it all kinda looks the same.
Click here for a link to the complete list of cards
And the following is a list of the cards I chose to answer Brelin's question. It's also found in the post on the 12th of Feb, but I'll include it here.
Question: Is it a good idea to try to communicate and help the ghosts?
Past (top to bottom):
- The Queen Mother (LN, Wisdom)
- The Waxworks (CE, Constitution)
- The Eclipse (LE, Wisdom)
Present:
- The Trumpet (LG, Constitution)
- The Joke (CG, Intelligence)
- The Desert (CG, Constitution)
Future:
- The Tangled Briar (LE, Constitution)
- The Survivor (NG, Constitution)
- The Big Sky (CG, Strength)
Weal and Woe
So the idea is for you to look up these cards in the list I provided, and then try to interpret them based on the question and the past/present/future. At the bottom I've provided Weal/Woe just in case we come to different conclusions.
Anyone can try to interpret it, but Brelin has the final say and is the character to actually do the reading.

Cleo Gingerberry |

Ha! That is awesome. Need sleep tonight though. Tomorrow I will read up on what on earth that all means!

Cleo Gingerberry |

Hmm, the with what we already knows the past could be a person of in charge like a head priest(The Queen Mother) convinced these formerly non ghosts to be buried alive to prove their faith (waxworks) and then decided after it was too late it was really a bad idea (eclipse).
Working on the rest...

Cleo Gingerberry |

Present... um, maybe it is saying to jump in(trumpet) and trick(joker) them back with with the light(desert)? I'm not so sure on that one... Or is Maria the joker, something to do with her strangeness now...
The head cleric or the ghosts themselves(the tangled briar) and um... I stink at this. Survivor could be Maria again or could the ghosts since part of them are still here. The big sky seems easier meaning something has to change, digging them up, giving them a proper burial, maybe outside with the open sky. Might be too literal...
Well I took a stab at it and it was fun, but Cleo will never ever be a fortune teller. :)

DM TreasureFox |

Nice stab, Cleo ^^
While we're waiting for Brelin (I don't want to bot her, since this is kinda her moment, but I will if need be), do you guys have any questions regarding the game? Maybe there's something I can clarify or offer advice. If nothing, what did you think of that fight against Malfeshnekor? What about that lair action?

Cleo Gingerberry |

Maria, you've gotten... um rounder :)
I was good with it, mainly because there were so many of us and we were back to full combat ability. Normally that encounter would have been at the end of a long string of hard battles. So something to add difficulty, correct? Plus creepy. Creepy is always good... well not always but mostly.
Malfeshnekor is a mouthful to try and say btw.

DM TreasureFox |

I've been saying that name for years, so I've managed to get used to it. I'll definitely take in to consideration counterplay for you guys if I bring lair actions back. I totally didn't consider it.
You're right Cleo. I was concerned that it would be anti-climatic, because you're all back to full capacity. The story, nor the environment couldn't allow me to add minions to the fight, and I felt like the enemy was already powerful enough. I didn't want to increase its power because I didn't want to one-shot a very unlucky character. So instead I went with a magical effect that could help control the battlefield to put some people in trouble. I was particularly concerned about people staying behind the barrier and just sniping Malf.
If you guys had fought him after all those battles, I would never even think of putting in that lair action. I highly doubt you would have won that fight even with just Malf himself.

Wabbit the Paladin of Chaldira |

I'm perfectly fine with lair actions particularly when they make sense for a creature that has taken time to fortify it's home. Like a dragon etc...
The lair action can be in addition to or a substitute for adding mooks I'm good either way.

Wabbit the Paladin of Chaldira |

Ok.... if it's become unfunny I'll drop it...
Somehow by being the lone male in an all girl group it became this characters comedic go to
Totally unplanned btw... just happened somehow with this character.

Cleo Gingerberry |

I thought they were funny, but my brain stumbles back never having grown up. I think it is an aversion to taxes...
still thanks for understanding Wabbit.

DM TreasureFox |

Thank you, Maria. I'm so glad you're happy with it.
Back at that fight, you were reduced to 0 strength. Normally the rules say that you would die and return as a ghost, but I had different plans. Motivated by the death of Furnok, I decided not to kill off Maria, but instead leave something of a curse.

DJ TPK |

Nice. But yeah, I'm never so married to a concept that I'm not willing to adjust for unexpected circumstances. Question, how would inflict wounds affect me right now? It's going to be one of the first avenues I intend to investigate so that I can heal. Of course I'm going to have to research an arcane inflict first.

Cleo Gingerberry |

Aggah didn't keep it though, all her claimed treasure went to the party bin. I agree with Treasure, I believe you claimed it for the Fuuuturre!

Helgarr |

Guys, I'm travelling for the weekend. Will be back on Monday. Posts are not likely to occur until then :)
Please bot me as needed.

DM TreasureFox |

Hey guys, what kinds of things would you like to do for the next 2 in-game days? Maria says that she'll be studying magic and helping out at the orphanage/academy.
Some ideas:
- Shopping
- Getting an item crafted for you
- Working part-time
- Drinking, socializing, gambling, and maybe visiting the whore house. I really shouldn't call them whores, they're lovely people.
- Sleeping hardcore
- Being a nerd and reading books
- Training a skill, language, or proficiency
- Theft and burglary
- Being an unpaid detective and solving mysteries that have nothing to do with the overarching plot

Helgarr |

Ok, so I was looking at the loot list - as far as Helgarr is concerned, she would take:
- Seven shards of a golden sphere-like Ioun stone, +1 on all Will saves
- 1 potion of Enlarge Person
And that would be it for now.
I see quite a couple of things that Brelin could use but alas...
----------------
If you guys agree, Helgarr can take care of the loot identification as usual - would begin with that after talking to the mayor. Also buying and selling is always a good opportunity to hear some rumors.
So, taking care of the loot would be her step 2. Fox, could Brodert assist us with any of the:
- (not translated) Two random books written in Thassilonian
- (unidentified, non-magical) Vial of strange liquid
- (unidentified, non-magical) 2 vials of clear liquid
- Magic 7-pointed star ring
Otherwise I think there is only the Breastplate - I'll take it to Savah for sale, and probably spend the day working there if she will take me.
----------------
Step 3 will be checking on Orik, and see how he has been doing.
----------------
I like the idea of 'Being an unpaid detective and solving mysteries that have nothing to do with the overarching plot' - but Helgarr's main interest is Sandpoint's protection, so she pays more attention to stuff related to that. Guess that would be step 4.
----------------
Looked at the shops, but will wait to know how much gold we get first.

Cleo Gingerberry |

Cleo would do the working part time preferably at the inn cooking, cleaning, being helpful. Unless someone pulled her into being Watson to their Sherlock, which she wouldn't be reluctant too. Maria and Cleo started down that route with the baker sisters.
Plus some much needed sleeping hardcore! I'd imagine this halfling needs some rest. A little sawing of logs, a tiny bit a drool and a mass of bedhead is calling her.

Wabbit the Paladin of Chaldira |

Wabbit gets to know the kids in town helping out a little at the orphanage but not really doing anything that could be considered work just hanging out and getting to know the town through kids eyes

Helgarr |

Once we have gold and I check my stash, I may pay to have that cart made, though it would now be a bit different. Hmm. That would be interesting, thoughts on a magically expanded cart that can serve us all as a house?
Hmmmm, even though Helgarr is and outdoors girl, that idea has potential :D
