Slipping quietly into the room is a tall slender figure nearly completely bundled up in a heavy woolen cloak, although the temperatures were still quite mild outside. Those who pay attention closely realize the figure is female and elvish as well. Those who REALLY pay attention would also see a rustling under her cloak, as if she is hiding something.
The figure makes her way to a corner of the room witout greeting anyone, only stopping for a goblet of wine.
As she sips her wine and stares about her, she cannot help but tremble slightly as she is unused to being around so many people.
Is this the right place? The missive I received indicated such, but I feel out of place here. Plus, I recognize no one here. Only time will tell...

Ok, so you all are making this really tough for me :) So I have decided to run two parallel campaigns. Let me know if any of you have preferences for being in the same game as other people that have submitted so far. Therefore I have 11 slots open (one game w/ a cleric of Pharasma + 5 open slots and the second completely open). I will await your preferences and then give final decision.

![]() |

Instead of cutting 2 people I will run two 7 player groups and adjust encounters accordingly. The groupings I'm looking at now are:
Group 1
Vauxmar Cleric
Deriven Paladin
Arigoder Fighter
Kraz Inquisitor
Piatra Monk
Vergil Wizard
Hasmir Bard
Group 2
Abernathus Paladin
Ad'ifaah Cleric
Shol'a'saul Witch
Ricven Fighter
Venedictos Monk
Aerys Sorcerer
Corey Wizard
Let me know what you think. I will put up the connected game threads tomorrow after everyone checks in and gives their OK.

I was originally having the Paladins switched, but Deriven wanted to go with the Pharasma Cleric. The Pharasma Cleric is a pure , dedicated healer and won't have much offense, so I put the witch with Ad'ifaah as a supplemental healer. The two fighters were sort of a wash, I might switch them as my original idea of Ricven having higher damage output (2-handed weapon) might not hold up as I see Arigoder is planning Barbarian levels. Also, might consider switching the Bard with the Sorcerer as the second group is looking a little squishy :)
However, as Ad'ifaah pointed out, it might be fun to go as is. It would be interesting to do a comparative of "team brawn vs. team brain".

My only comment with 7 per party is that we should set up some rules about non-posting and/or boting. We should make it that if someone does not post for 24 hours - the DM will bot them. If we are getting into a combat type situation, and a player knows he/she is going to be unable to post, that person should ask someone else to post for them or have the DM bot them. Otherwise with 7 people we are going to be sitting idle for a lot of time.

Deriven Firelion |

My character is ready to be looked over. Took City Born (Magnimar) as my bonus upbringing feat. I'm going to say the family used to be nobles from Magnimar that relocated to Ustalav when they joined the crusade against the Whispering Tyrant.
I picture Deriven as a hardcore survivor. I was even going to switch his bonus feat to Survivor, but taking Riverland Affinity was too much of a feat investment. But I want to make him hard to kill like Barnes in Platoon. He's that guy that crawls out of the wreckage and keeps on questing.

hey Deriven, if your going for the survivor type, the alternate human racial trait 'heart of the wilderness' might be of interest to you. You give up the +1 skill point per level, but gain a +5 bonus to stabilization checks, a + 1/2 character level bonus to survival skill, and a + 1/2 character level to your Con score when determining how many negative hit points you need to die.

I have created the gameplay and discussion threads for both groups. I am trying to figure out if I can link this recruitment thread to both, but if not, Team Brain (group 2) can go to the PBP messageboard and get on there. Everyone please check into the discussion thread so I can put the characters on the page.

Maddigan |

Maybe I will get that. I do picture him as being able to live off the land. Knights of old were usually good hunters and capable woodsman that knew how to live off the land while at war or questing.
I'll have to focus my skills even more. But I already took Survival. Mine as well not have to spend too many more points on it to get it to a decent level.

First character trait would be Chance Savior, which is how she met the professor. Ten years ago the Professor was in Caliphas for some reason and was going to meet a colleage WITHOUT his guards when some local thugs tried to rob him. My character happened to be walking by and had past issues with the two humans trying to rob him, so she jumped them from behind, taking one down with a brick to the head and the other with a knife in the spine. Intrigued about being rescued by a ragged and dirty young female elf wielding a broken brick and old dagger, the professor had treated her to dinner and gave her a small sum of gold as reward. The small sum of gold to him was a lot for my character, so she purchased proper arms and armor and rented a small flat in the dirtier part of town, doing enough oddjobs to survive and stealing whenever she could. Over the past decade the professor would look in on her now and then, giving her small jobs that always intrigued her.
Ok thats the best I can come up with with no source materials on hand. I'll give something more detailed later.

Hasmir - realistically, unless there is a need to replace a character, this thread should go idle. You should have a gameplay tab and a OOC(forget the correct name) tab at the top of the page. Those are the ones for Team Brawn - good luck all, now I need to return to Team Brain as see whether all our spellcasters have gotten turned into undead yet.

I am looking for 3 replacement players for this Carrion Crown adventure. We are still in the beginning stages (still 1st level). I am definitely looking for a Rogue (or similiarly skilled character with trapfinding), but the other 2 positions are more open. The party currently has a fighter, bard, and cleric. Please see the beginning of this recruitment thread for the character creation rules. Thank you.

Javell DeLeon |

Probably shouldn't do this, but, this guy is one of my top two favorite pc's.
So, I'll throw this guy in there. He's from a previous CC campaign.
Not sure if your allowing Dhampir's or not but here goes, just in case.
Positive energy hurts them. Which, according to James Jacobs, means Lay on hands hurts them. My other DM, in my previous CC, allowed it to not cause damage. If you decide not to go that route, then some type of Inflict light wounds potions are going to be necessary.
So, if you'd rather not deal with all this, no big deal. Like I said, probably shouldn't be attempting to jump in on this, but this pc is just really interesting to me. He is the most eccentric pc I've ever run.
Also, if you do decide to roll with him, I will probably switch up a few things. Mainly my traits and/or my feat. If that's okay.

@ Darcy....If you want to hold the extra local feat in reserve until you qualify for one of the later ones or for anything coming from the Tian book, thats fine.
@ Javell... Morbury is fine (I have no problem w/ a Dhampir), just make him lvl 1. Also, you have 4 traits listed and I see you took the feat, additional traits. In this game you get 2 traits plus one of the CC campaign traits. And yes, LOH is positive energy, but it fits well with the self-scarificing nature of a Dhampir Paladin :) You would only take damage from LOH if you did it to yourself, but if you heal others it doesn't effect you.
@ Waltz...That is fine, make him up so I can double check him.

Javell DeLeon |

Cool. Sounds good. I would like to switch out my feat if that's okay.
When you mention the bonus feat from the Local feat section in the SRD, there is this one: Cosmopolitan that is also located in the general feats section. It is the exact same one except for the fact it is not limited to Katapesh(as a prereq.).
Any chance I could go that route?

Akydidyka Serrin de Aptal |

In case this isn't a first come, first serve recruitment, I would love to get into a CC game again. Akydi was in one(he's level 2 atm, but I can easily knock him down to), but we've lost our DM.
As you can see, he is very much tied to the Harrow aspect of the game, and my intention is to actually go into the Harrower PrC.

![]() |

Ok, Darcy you're definitely in, just let meknow tour decision on the local feat. Morbury is in also pending the edits to his character sheet (also you can ignore the affinity prereqs on the local feats).
Still waiting to hear back from Waltz. Akydidyka, your guy is fine too, just make him level one, you have 5 more points to spend on his stats, and you can add one more feat from the local feats on the SRD (ignore the affinity requirements, but all other prereqs must be met).
