Aldy will take a deep breath, then exhale a gout of flame at the spiders.

Aldy attempts to use his spear to block the spider's blow, but is too slow.

Reflex DC 15 for half (though they will take 1 either way...), and that should set the webs aflame. Aldy will then shift back and use his spear to protect his companions.

I'm a little confused. I'm sure I posted yesterday but I don't see the posting now. I'm not listed in bold in the GM posting which would be normal if my posting had gone through. Also, I only had 2hp of damage so the 9 healing should get me to full but in the GM listing I'm at -2hp.

Bree flinches away from the spider as it bites him then swings back with his axe. Seeing that his attacks are not being effective Bree looks over his shoulder to see if there is a way to retreat but Arko and Ganem are right behind him. He would have to let his guard down to escape through them.

Arkolo kills the second spider! You move into the room and see a ladder going down. The ladder’s shaft ends in a wide staircase descending into darkness. On the floor at the top of the stairs, a dead moon spider lies on its back, its legs drawn up and frozen in a curled-in position. An unpleasant rotting reek emanates from a sunken hole in its belly.

You investigate the area that you skipped earlier and Aldy finds a trap: a fake ceiling that would have come down if you attempted to open the chest underneath it. In the other room a casket seems to be moaning. Again Aldy investigates it and finds that it is rigged to collapse. The moaning seems to be some kind of magical effect. Inside the casket a zombie is hiding, defeating it is child's play for you.

Our heroes decide to take their well-earned rest and return to civilization, to return to the Emerald Spire on a later date!

That concludes this level of the Emerald Spire!

Level 3 of the Emerald Spire!

After exploring the second level of the Emerald Spire, our heroes make their way back to Fort Inevitable for rest and resupply. After meeting with Lady Commander Drovust and a bit of relaxation they make their way back to the Emerald Spire...

The ladder they found in the web filled room eventually ends in a wide staircase. The wide stone steps descend for approximately 90 feet before a green glow begins to fill the passageway...

Broad stone stairs open into a small, irregularly shaped chamber lit by oil lamps. To the east, a short flight of steps leads up to a sturdy door set in the middle of a wall and flanked by arrow slits. To the north, a wide gate of iron bars blocks an archway leading to a larger chamber filled with the eerie green glow of the Emerald Spire.

As he walks, his new mithral chain shirt jingles quietly. "This guy will keep their paws off me much better, I think!"

I'm going to rule that Aldy notices the secret door as Bree and Flint (and maybe Brand?) move across the room to examine the iron gates.

I moved the Aldy, Brand, and Arkolo avatars onto the map. Please move them where you think they might be when the following voice is heard...

"You there! Stop! Identify yourself before moving any further!", a human voice shouts at the party members in the room. The voice comes from the east side of the room. As the party looks over they see several narrow vertical slits in the east wall...perfect cover for archers...

Improved cover:

In some cases, such as attacking a target hiding behind an arrowslit, cover may provide a greater bonus to AC and Reflex saves. In such situations, the normal cover bonuses to AC and Reflex saves can be doubled (to +8 and +4, respectively). A creature with this improved cover effectively gains improved evasion against any attack to which the Reflex save bonus applies. Furthermore, improved cover provides a +10 bonus on Stealth checks.
