The gibbering mouther tries to engulf Bree!
Maintain grapple: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (15) + 12 = 27
Bree, you can either make a reflex save to not be engulfed or make an AOO (and forfeit the saving throw).
The creature can engulf creatures in its path as part of a standard action. It cannot make other attacks during a round in which it engulfs. The creature merely has to move over its opponents, affecting as many as it can cover. Targeted creatures can make attacks of opportunity against the creature, but if they do so, they are not entitled to a saving throw against the engulf attack. Those who do not attempt attacks of opportunity can attempt a Reflex save to avoid being engulfed—on a success, they are pushed back or aside (target’s choice) as the creature moves forward. Engulfed opponents gain the pinned condition, are in danger of suffocating, are trapped within the creature’s body until they are no longer pinned, and may be subject to other special attacks from the creature. The save DC is Strength-based.

Running away is not my style.
Bree squints his eyes and takes a deep breath as the monster rolls over and around him. He lashes out to attack with his claws.

You can engulf something the same size as you? Fricking scary.

Yes...these things are brutal.
This ability functions as swallow whole, except for the following changes. An engulfed creature is trapped in the gibbering mouther’s body, where several of its mouths continue to feed and drain blood. A gibbering mouther can engulf only one foe of its size or smaller at a time. If an engulfed creature cuts its way free (the mouther’s damage reduction still applies to those inside), the mouther simply flows together again and can still use its engulf attack.

Bree...you can full attack while engulfed to break out of the gibbering mouther
Puss oozes from many wounds on the gibbering mouther. Many of the teeth in its maws are broken. It continues to fight on though...
It looks pretty rough. You think it's on its last legs.

Continuing to go for it...
Bree is surrounding by the putrid flesh of the mouther. With inhuman strength he attacks back at the creature with his claws.

The gibbering mouther suddenly starts to stretch and expand. Its mouths are distended in silent screams of pain and horror. Then its body is ripped open...Bree is left standing among the remnants...his claws dripping with ichor and his body covered with blood.
Combat over! I tracked the damage on one of the slides.
I don't think you guys healed up after the first encounter.

As soon as the mouther's body falls to pieces, Bree fumbles in his bag for a wand. He the activates it on himself a couple times. He let's his shoulders sag and he calms down.

After those to heals, I'm at a total of 16 dmg. That includes the con damage. As I come out of rage I lose some HP too and that's accounted for in my stat line.

Flint pulls out his own wand and hands it to Bree. "Glad to have you back, mate. Help me out?"
Cure Light Wounds Wand: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7 Back to full!
He cracks his back and smiles. "That feels better. Thanks. You need some time to get that...slime off you?"

Bree nods. "Yeah, this is pretty gross." He moves slowly and tries to clean himself off. He is still quite injured so he applies his wand a few more times. The wand just doesn't remove the drained feeling that he feels though.

Just as Bree and Flint finish healing their wounds, a head pops in the door. He is dressed similarly to the other guards encountered on this level. His mask hangs loosely around his neck...it looks like he's just finished chewing his most recent bite of food.
"Hey! What are you guys doing?? Jaris gave that thing enough stuff to keep him quiet for a while! He's going to be pissed that you chopped it up...not to mention Tarrin!"
Arkolo
|
We are all wearing the robes and masks and things right?
Arkolo calmy offers a bald face lie to the man...
"Hey! It's not our fault - someone let the damn thing out when we came it. Didn't have a choice. Have you seen anyone around? I suppose we should think about reporting this. Do you know where we can find Jaris & Tarrin right now?"

The guard strolls over to the remains of the gibbering mouther. He sifts through the remains with the toe of his boot...chewing his food all the while.
"Jarris is in the zoo...boy is he going to be pissed. I'm not sure about Tarrin."
He looks up suddenly from the grisly remains, "Hey...are you guys hungry? Plenty of food left over in the kitchen!"
Flint Jaycen
|
Flint, knowing he is wiser than he is pretty, just nods and grunts. ”MMHMMM “ He then turns to Arkolo with eyebrows raised. Uhhh... dinner then slaughter?
Breelajah
|
Bree looks at his companions and then back to the newcomer. It seems that the newcomer has mistaken their identity but Bree knows that can't last long. He follow's Flint's example and grunts and nods.
Arkolo
|
Arkolo looks at his companions and then shurgs his shoulders...
"Sure. I could eat!"
DM MoFiddy
|
The guard takes one last look at the carcass, "It might be your last when Jarris sees this mess. C'mon..."
He walks out and turns right and heads into the next room.
"Oh man, you guys should see the mess in the jail. Jarris is going to be pissed!", he says to the other three guards sitting around the table.
Do you guys follow him to the room?
Brand Boulderstep
|
Hmmm or play it up....and slaughter them all when they come in so as not to give them chance to sound the alarm.
Flint Jaycen
|
Flint shrugs, looking at Arkolo before heading in.
I don't care either way. I'm sure it will end up the same way either way.
Aldy Rolda

There will be others in there - I feel like if we try to go in and sit down we are just combining two encounters. My vote is to jump them in this room

There are a total of four guards in this room. Three of them are sitting while the one that you encountered in the jail is standing. They glance at you and two of them appear to take a second look...
"What are you all wearing? I'm no fashion expert, but you guys look a lot different than when your shift started.", one of them says while eyeing you warily.
Flint Jaycen

Flint walks up to the center door, not quite entering, cautious at the man's statement. He looks to Arkolo for direction.
Arkolo
|
Arkolo ushers the more melee minded of his companions into the room ahead of him.
"Yeah I do feel a bit weird. Side effect of tussling with that thing in the other room. It had all sorts of strange powers..... Speaking of.. perhaps we had go report that mess to Jarris"

"Tell Jarris what?" says the same guard as he stands up...his gaze shifting around the room, looking at each of your outfits.
The guard you met in the jail pipes up, "You should see the jail, Tela! They slaughtered that gibbering mouther! It's a mess in there!"
Tela jerks his head toward the guard, "They killed it?!?!"
He turns to you, "You killed it?!?! What is the matter with you?" He steps around the table, "Take off your masks", he says in a low, dangerous voice while loosening his sword in its sheath.
Flint Jaycen

Here we go! Let's see if I'm allowed a Surprise Round.
Flint chuckles. "No." He claps his hands together, drawing blood from the force of the blow. Taking 2 points of Burn to keep this a Standard Action. A line of earthen spikes rises from the ground, travelling from Flint to the guards. They rise higher and higher, until they stab both guards in the groin.
