More stealthing characters does increase the chance of one low roll stuffing it up. That's why I like the Stealth Synergy teamwork feat. It switches that around - more Stealth Synergy users decreases the probability of one low roll wrecking things.
Ninja Hippo isn't likely to be Ninja Hippo anymore once she grows to Large size next level, so I thought I'd make the most of it now ;) If there are more stealth missions in this scenario I am happy to take a back seat though, I don't want to crowd anyone out.

Amelia really is not stealthy and has no business trying to sneak anywhere.. and is a bit of a ditz anyways. Don't think that you're stealing thunder from her in any way!!
As for the mission, I enjoy a bit of a moral quandary! I have been the "bad influence" trying to find a way around the paladin's code, and also the do gooder in these situations and it is almost always enjoyable and grants quite a bit of RP to the situation. I have really enjoyed the last several seasons where these type of things seem to come up more often.
However, this part of the scenario does seem to be treating us as nothing more than common thugs. Normally the moral quandaries come up once or twice.. enough for some good RP to find a solution and then work through it. This seems to be quite a bit of overkill on the thugs for hire department!

I will bow to the majority will here, but it sounds like we are pretty evenly split. Without evidence of favoritism, Amelia will not encourage the black mail. If someone can come up with an argument or an out of the box solution, she's all ears though.
That said, I know we are on a time limit here and from the GM's comment, its probably getting tight.
I normally don't mind these moral quandaries.. and some of my characters would have no issues at all with this. But this does seem very much over the top to me as a player!

A few of my other characters would certainly have moral problems in this scenario, but Kiboko is well suited to it. Although he has a strong moral code, he regards city-dwellers as inherently corrupt, and those who have power in the cities even more so.
I've had so many roleplaying experiences in which Kiboko's bias has been established then confirmed that Kaddren's secret-keeping and potential favouritism just adds to Kiboko's "evidence."

![]() |

Yea, but Amelia is that sunny ray of sunshine that's always looking for the good side in everything.. and using Kaddren's love affair against her is pretty bad as it is. Lying and baseless accusations are way beyond what Amelia is capable of.

![]() |

I'm assuming we're just finishing up the rp with Kaddren and that we're all high-tailing it to the Cathedral for the auction?

![]() |

Just to clarify GM, if I make a gust of wind spell will that clear away both Stinking Clouds?

![]() |

Just a note, I forgot to add the feat bonus to dirty trick, meaning the total would be 33.
Every +5 over opponents CMD would cause the penalty to last an additional round. So hopefully the assassin is still blinded for 1 more round, if not 2!

Damn those pesky mages! ;)

![]() |

Rallas, do you have the Google Slides app on your phone? That might let you move your token on the map maybe.

![]() |

Man I gotta get some boots of speed or something.
This is the only reason my cleric has a Mithril breastplate, and why I will most likely buy one for Kiboko as well. 20' speed hurts in encounters like this one.

![]() |

I'm quite glad I decided to take Expeditious retreat. 50' move is so much better than 20'. Also, next level I'll be mounting up on Kuuma and casting expeditious retreat on him for a 70' move speed :D

Should we gather together on the present map? Whereabouts are the portals opening up?
Or maybe we're better spread out?

![]() |

The portals are all over the place and increasing in rate. more than you would be able to keep up with.
I will push forward this evening. Should have been enough time to plan, buff and heal.

![]() |

I think I'm set, short of how we spread out on the map, which seems somewhat arbitrary, so I'm generally ok with whatever.

Getting close enough to the end here now I will roll the boon rolls.
GM: 1d20 ⇒ 10
Amelia: 1d20 ⇒ 18
Kelumur: 1d20 ⇒ 5
Kiboko: 1d20 ⇒ 12
Kramac: 1d20 ⇒ 1
Marsius: 1d20 ⇒ 17
Rallas: 1d20 ⇒ 10
You win on a 1 or a 20.
Kramac Win: 1d3 ⇒ 1
Congrats Kramac!

I am making chronicles, Kiboko did you wish to do your Dayjob?

![]() |

I will, thanks. (Sometimes there are faction card goals that require me to forgo the day job).
Kiboko gets out of the stinking, corrupt city and goes hunting.
day job, survival (hunting lodge vanity): 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (1) + 11 = 12

![]() |

You know, I can't really disagree with the 'corrupt city/ charge in this case :)
Also, I'm going to be at an IRL con this week, so while I'll try to be checking in, feel free to bot Marsius if needed.

What an awfully weird coincidence that all the half-orc's on table are named starting with K!
You just noticed? ;)
"Kiboko" is actually Swahili for Hippo.

![]() |

I must make an emergency trip out of town, and do not have time at the moment to post. Please bot me, and I will post as able depending upon circumstances.

![]() |

Here are your Chronicles. make sure they are correct please.

What an awfully weird coincidence that all the half-orc's on table are named starting with K!
Did you know there's a Flemish kids' pop group called K3? All their names (stage names anyway) begin with K. They're not half-orcs though :D And they sing better than Kramac ;)
Thanks for running for us GM! Chronicle looks good.
And thanks to all my fellow players. :)

Sheet looks good. Thank you very much for running Tyranius! I know these specials can get crazy chaotic, but I really enjoyed playing this one.
And playing alongside all of you as well! Sorry I was running in the wind there for the last bit. Marsius just leveled up, and this is pushing him pretty hard towards that 3rd paladin level :)
Hope to see you around the boards!
