Zane enjoys the presence of his friends

With Vetch giving him some mystical healing, Zane looks much improved and he is appreciative.
Vetch! Mellowman ACE! The A1 Sauce! The Zane feels so much better and he owes it all to you.
Where once The Zane thought he'd be all sick and bunched up for the night, with only the thought of hanging out in that Embassy lobby dropping "silent but deadlies" around Waneda as my comfort. #Cropdusting.

INSTEAD- BANG- It's eatin time.

He feels great and does some agile maneuvers at the coffee house. Using the different tables and fixtures as an impromptu gymnastics course. Makeshift parralel bars, Pommel Horse, and even a doorjam gets turned into a pull-up bar.
When done retesting his muscles he orders.
The Zane's Got-tsa get down about 12,000 calories. So let's start with:
Three fried egg sandwiches with cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, fried onions and mayonnaise

One five-egg omelette

One bowl of Datcho grain

Three slices of French toast

Three chocolate chip pancakes.

That's used to be a Michael Phelps breakfast boys. DANG.

That's one hell-of-a breakfast!

Abe is very pleased at the find, BACON! he thinks excitedly.

He grabs his menu and sits, trying to decide between waffles and French toast. Both with a generous side of bacon naturally.

"So tomorrow we'll check the flesh factory and see if we can connect the two incidents. Maybe get some better leads. What we have is a little thin..."

Vetch smiles as *The* Zane returns to the zaniness that Vetch expects. He has mixed feelings about it, but it's good for the party, good for the soul.

"Yeah, eat up. My magics can take a lot out of you," Vetch says as he scrambles up to his seat. He places his own modest order, somewhat different than *The* Zane's.

"A plate of grasshoppers, cooked or raw, if you have them. Some frayed ropes if you have something old...and some stale cheese with peanut butter topping, if you would," Vetch smiles at the wait staff.

He also has a surprised look when Draka just downs all the sugar and creamer on the table to make a coffee sludge. He normally adds a bit o' sugar to his coffee, but he can take it black.

Dash slides into the seat at Waffle House, or tries to. Pleather upholstery and high fructose corn syrup cause him to skid and lurch with the effort.

Listening to The Zane order, be thanks fate for his Aeon stone that eliminates the need to eat. Watching the big human eat that much would probably have made him want to vomit. Still, while he doesn’t need to eat, he does like the occasional fine drink.

The cook takes a few minutes preparing the food and before long The Zane's plates take up most of the table. Plate by plate the big man scoops them all into stacks so that a few can be cleared away. Waffle House's menu has expanded a small bit to accommodate some of the other races. While they don't have chocolate chips still they have acquired grasshoppers and frayed rope. The stale cheese has always been on the menu.

For once the group enjoys their dinner, tipping the cook and head back for their room.

Anything anyone wants to do before going to the room in the Ministry?

Abe lingers over his food, but eventually he is ready to head to the room. He doesn't like Eox... too many dead. Though at least they have a Waffle House.

Heading back to the Ministry of Eternal Vigilance you find that the building seems to be living up to its name as Waneda Trux still sits at her station. Looking up she sees you and lets out a deep sigh. "About time you came back." She grabs a piece of paper, holding it over the counter without even getting up from her chair. As if this menial task is just too much for her to even deal with right now.

Grabbing the paper it seems to be a message from Ambassador Gevalarsk Nor back on Absalom Station.

Waneda,

I have just received some disturbing news here on Absalom Station. I have caught wind of an assassination attempt through several of my Eoxian contacts. They look to be targeting the Starfinders we are helping. Warn them before it is too late!

- Ambassador Gevalarsk Nor

The letter is marked as of 4 hours earlier in the day.

Her eyes glance up. "Your room is ready upstairs."

"I make my own with a little lemon twist, it's good," Vetch comments on the espresso order. Vetch eats and enjoys his food, and even his time with the team where they are not covered in blood or fighting or about to get killed.

Vetch reads the note aloud, then passes it off to others.

"Assassination plot? Do they mean us? Why would anyone here care what we're doing? Sheesh...pretty paranoid if they think we are a threat," Vetch chitters, not sure he believes the threat. "Bah! These cultists can't have that many contacts or assets here, can they? Meh...maybe we should be cautious or something. I dunno."

Vetch will carefully inspect the door and room before getting too comfortable inside...as if assassins might be laying in wait.

"Well, we are famous now." he gestures to the camera hounds in the party, "And we are on to something, though I can't see the big picture quite yet. But yeah, " He takes out and powers on his weapon, nodding to Messalina who takes a position in front of the door. "I'm not taking any chances."

He opens the door to the room from the side so if anyone starts shooting, he's out of sight. He looks into the room through Messalina's camera, sending her in first if there are no immediate threats.

Haha. Haven't seen Beverly Hills Cop in years.

Vetch passes the note off and heads to inspect the accommodations. Vetch has a hard time finding the room as most look like simple storage spaces. Though after a second look Vetch seems to find their living arrangements for what they are. One of these supply rooms has been cleared to accommodate your group, and grimy impressions on the floor show where filing cabinets and office furniture once stood. Now, the room holds a number of thin foam sleeping pads for each of you to sleep on. These, plus a small connected washroom with a deep grimy sink, round out the amenities that Waneda felt obligated to supply her visitors.

Vetch seems content with the room as it has no obvious goblinsign, and he is happy to ignore the grime and dirt.

He will make a little fort for himself using whatever furniture might be left, just small enough for him to skitter in and out of a entrance. He will put his foam pad inside. He is delighted by the accommodations.

"This is not a bad hovel at all, is it? You're gunna feel safe sleeping in a place like this, let me tell you." Feeling at home, Vetch is quickly asleep until his turn at watch.

In the morning, after breakfast, he will suggest hitting Fleshworn Fabrications again.

Zane too really enjoys the time where the group is bonding. Exchanging stories. He even hoots and hollers as they tell about Dancing Dash and their raid of a night club controlled by The Downside Kings on Absalom.

He shares a story about a roadtrip to a similar Divy Wafflehouse, where the FOOD ACTUALLY CRAWLED AWAY - screaching how it wanted it's two credits. . He ends the story by saying,
Suffice to say, Zane doesn't order anything with raisins anymore. and he laughs so heartily at his own joke. He probably says the punchline again and laughs even twice as hard at his own joke the second time.

At the Ministry.... Upon hearing the contents of the note.
YES! Do you know what this means?! THIS means that the group IS BIG TIME! S&#~ Man, they don't send assassins out for just any ole' mom and pop. Blood and Fury is officially THE SHOW.
It's SKY's THE LIMIT when assassins are involved. BOOO-YA!

Zane is happy for the most stupid of reasons. People are really out to kill him.
He takes watch and doublechecks doors, and makes certain that no one suggests splitting the party. Because you don't split the party when there's assassins after you.
He has his head on a swivel, and a smile on his face.

The night goes uneventful. Mainly no assassination attempt, although there are the strangest sounds of screams, hollering, the baying calls of numerous undead outside on the streets and in the city that wake you up intermittently throughout the night.

Come morning Vetch peeks out from his blanket fort hovel and stretches while Abe cleans the shower enough to well, shower with the murky gray water that comes out of the clattering pipes. The water is definitely not fit for any sort of consumption.

Once ready Vetch leads the way past Gretal who smiles. At least Vetch thinks it is a smile as her two foot long tongue falls out of her mouth. She could have just as well been hungry. As The Zane passes she tosses him another Ross/Rachel combo.

Just across the street is the Fleshworn Fabrications Factory. It does seem a bit more active even though the time of day is difficult to tell in the perpetual nighttime.

Tall metal walls behind a chainlink fence and wide, looming security gates mark this as some sort of industrial facility. Inside the gates is a massive metal-and-concrete platform resting at the bottom of an enormous elevator shaft. The edges of circular pools or vats containing some strange undulating substance are barely visible behind the fence, sunk deeply in the ground. A sign that reads, “Attention visitors: Call for agent,” hangs above an intercom on one side of the gates.

The factory’s rear gates are locked and look very difficult to try and bypass, but there is an intercom next to the gates to alert workers inside to their presence. Pushing the button a booming voice answers your call on the intercom. "Welcome to Fleshworn. Who are you here to visit?"

"We're here to see Voxel Darksend. We're sent by Waneda Trux, director at the Ministry of Eternal Vigilance. Official business."

Abe hopes the bureaucracy works but he half expects a rude replay and tries to steel himself to it before it comes.

Oh Contrar Monfrar. Zane after his watch had ended, decided to spend some time on the Blood and Fury Message boards . He shouldn’t have done that. He was riding high from the days events and the barrage of good news – they were big time.

He thought he’d see some ego pumping posts, but instead he stumbled onto the “dark matter” of Social Media.
What the H-E-L-L? What kind of bologna is this?
Who the heck is SorynBurst247? What kind of lowlife posts, “ Zane has to be the Stupidest Starfinder in Space. He’s going to lead Team Blood and Fury to their deaths with his asinine antics and showboating.

To which Zane takes a brief pause and defends himself, The Zane doesn’t showboat!
He then picks up where he left off. … They should drop him as fast as Draka dropped those sentry robots. Now there’s a gorgeous specimen and hero for the community. Draka has to dead-lift Zane through each firefight with the cult. Her arms and shoulders have to be tired from having to -figuratively and literally- carry his useless carcass around. …….

To which Zane is incredulous.
And that post got 24 likes! What is going on? There’s some added piggybacked comments by MysticKcetic
Zane is upset so much so that when he gets a Rachel/Ross from Waneda, he just lets out a low gumbling and feral growl in response.

As the group departs in the morning he takes a minute to let her know that the last tenant was a total disgusting slob that probably died from gangrene, dysentery, lock-jaw, and explosive diarrhea. "They didn't take the vat itself. Just the flesh." Voxel is fairly coarse and abrupt, but he does not seem naturally cruel. "You cops just need to prove that it was stolen. He walks you into the entrance of the facility that reeks of rotten flesh from the incubation process.

Voxel escorts you to one of the stations. [b]"This is the vat. Which is still empty from the recent theft." He then pulls out his datapad and flips through a few personal photos. One of him flexing in the mirror and another of a semi-naked ghoul more than likely sexting with the undead. "Opps.. Ah! Here we go Here is the badge"

Zooming in on it, the badge is definitely a Corpse Fleet Badge. Similar to the ones you have found earlier in the cultist's lair.

The vat stands several dozen feet in the air as it is much too large to try and move.

Abe tries breathing through his mouth to avoid the worst of the stench as he examines the vat. "But how'd they get the flesh out of here? How do you do it? How is the flesh moved around, do you have some tools to help?" Maybe they brought their own conveyance with them, still.

"Also, do you have the badge? If not, what happened to it after you took a picture of it?"

Not a lot of evidence of this corpse fleet, just a few rumors and questionable sightings. No really good evidence.

Abe is frustrated by the lack of leads so far.

Vetch will climb to see what's in the vat, seeming like an easy task.

Vetch grabs ahold of the riveted edges of the vat and skitters up it, peering in. There are some curious bone spur–like shards among the scraps of synthetic flesh left in the vat.

DC 20 Mysticism:
These bony spurs are osteoderms shed by a marrowblight.

Abe waits for the blusterers to follow up their bluster. When they do not, he sighs, and steps forward, "We need everything you know about the Corpse Fleet - particularly why they would be interested in stealing one of your flesh vats. There has been increased Corpse Fleet activity in the area, and we want to know why. What are they up to?"

"You're one link in the chain. Don't break it. Tell us what you know."

A-HA! Vetch rejoices at his find, pulling up a few of the shards and returning to the party with a smile on his face.

"Look what I just found in the vat," Vetch hands off a shard to each person. "See that there? It's from that vat. And those are shards from a Marrowblight. That thing is definitely involved."

Vetch smiles a proud ratty smile.

Zane enjoys the presence of his friends

So, you have been letting Marrowblights into your facility?! You are headed down a bad starpath of trouble.
He then asks the same questions to Frenzel that he asked of Voxel.

Any of these names mean anything to you, or are they in a visitor log?
Railphus Evanko
Zeera Vesh
Woan Watten.
If not those names, how about:
Wells
or
Larex

"And what makes you think I know a thing about the Corpse Fleet?" Frenzel asks Abe as he crosses his nearly skeletal arms.

"Marrowblight!?" Frenzel leaps from his chair. "There hasn't been one in here. At least not while I've been here. I don't even think there is one in the city...and no I don't recognize any of those names."

"Yes, a Marrowblight. The evidence is mounting - that is what we face. The problem is we do not know where to look next, and you don't seem to know anything useful."

He turns to the others, "He doesn't know anything, lets get out of here. This place stinks."

The vesk moves away from the vat to approach Frenzel. "Draka throw Frenzel into vat? Draka think undead liar." the vesk throws a questioning glance in Abe's direction. "...or rip off arms. Draka need new backscratcher. And Draka will need both arms. Draka like duel-wield."

The tall, burly - yet feminine - vesk observes and waits. If the interrogation is over, she leaves quietly.

Draka's right. The Zane also doesn't like how he be folding those arms. That’s a solid body language sign of you being defensive and hiding something. Unwind those arms, and unwind your tongue to tell us a whole lot more. The next time you cross those arms, The Zane will break those twigs. If Draka doesn't do it first.

Voxel, show ABE the visitor logs and the computer link-ups to the fleshvats.

Zane is agitated, he wants significant action. This “I don’t know anything” from two people is wearing thin. There’d better be leads in the computers or the visitor log book.
