Five-star Hound of Tindalos. Er, GM. Whatever. | RoW Encounter Map |

Kappi:
Kappi's sunrod barely manages to illuminate the chilly cavern ahead. Before him, the rogue sees a sobering sight: like some harrowing cage woven from bone, wood, and sinew, a tangle of massive drying racks display the remains of dozens of woodland creatures — most dead, but an unfortunate few still twitching. Narrow wooden planks serve as precarious walkways leading between the racks, with several rope ladders ascending to its various levels. Leather buckets with dark stains hang from the hideous structure in several spots, with various cruel and filthy vivisection tools poking from within them. The ice-cold room is currently illuminated by faint luminescent fungi all across the walls, which bear oddly lifelike goat skulls at regular intervals.

Of more immediate concern is the trio of hunched, horn-headed creatures who scuttle about the room, currently oblivious to the Varisian's presence! They vaguely resemble the flying creature the party fought recently, but are deformed, and each has a third, twisted vestigal arm growing from its torso!

Kappi's action:
The lad leaves the sunrod behind in the short hallway. He carefully and with exaggerated stealth slips into the shadowy corner. He waits, watches, and listens.

He hopes his comrades will come soon.

I don’t know if that’s how it works, I think I have to have LOS, and LOE to enable the link. DMTS is that correct?

Ed will gladly follow Kappi if he knew where he disappeared to. So far I only think Ali has a clue. Of course Vojtek will be in the lead, and I guess I will take up rear guard .. So Vojtek, Ali, Davosh, Ed marching order.

Correct. The link is severed for reasons Edward does not know (though he knows the bond normally continues until the bonded creature dies, the Oracle dies, the distance between the Oracle and the bonded creature exceeds medium range, or the Oracle ends it as an immediate action), and it's a standard action to place the life link on someone.

Assuming Ali tells Ed where Kappi went.....

Vojtek, Kappi went that way, you take the lead, I will hold the rear Ali, Davosh after you lets find where our friend went. Probably went looking for a maiden.

So the party moves into the strange hallway to go looking for Kappi.

Five-star Hound of Tindalos. Er, GM. Whatever. | RoW Encounter Map |

About 20 feet down the passage, you notice (well, Vojtek probably doesn't, LOL) the cavern is noticeably colder — you can see your breath mist in front of your face as you breathe — and the dim purple light from the luminescent stones fails to light up the cloying darkness. Up ahead a bit, you see the faint glow of a sunrod on the ground, giving a dim vision of the broadening gloom up ahead. A cavern emerges from the passage; ahead of you, like some harrowing cage woven from bone, wood, and sinew, a tangle of massive drying racks display the remains of dozens of woodland creatures — most dead, but an unfortunate few still twitching. Narrow wooden planks serve as precarious walkways leading between the racks, with several rope ladders ascending to its various levels. The ice-cold room is currently illuminated by faint luminescent fungi all across the walls, which bear oddly lifelike goat skulls at regular intervals.

Vojtek, it should be noted, is not stealthy — at least, not like Kappi, who tries to get everyone's attention from his hiding place off to the side as a trio of hunched, horn-headed creatures turn to take notice of the intruders! They vaguely resemble the flying creature the party fought recently, but are deformed, and each has a third, twisted vestigal arm growing from its torso!

Going to assume Edward used cold iron arrows, though he didn't specify. However, he's not close enough to count PBS unless he takes a move action, which precludes a full attack. I moved him up a five foot step. But one less to hit and one less point of damage for each shot.

Edward lets a pair of arrows fly at Blue, and both land home!

Vojtek has a similar situation: a move action precludes taking a full attack.

Blue glides through the greased area (can auto-make the Acrobatics check) and lines up adjacent to the barbarian, then waits...

Red then climbs effortlessly (five foot step) up the side of the wall alongside Vojtek, and triggers Blue's readied action!

I can’t move on the map so please 5ft me to the west one. I know damage has been taken, but can’t get the time to figure it all out and on who... so my Lifelinks are on Vojtek, Ali, and Davosh at the current. Once I know how many HP’s I’m down, I would like to possibly retcon a LoH on myself.

Five-star Hound of Tindalos. Er, GM. Whatever. | RoW Encounter Map |

Vojtek is the only one in the party who's taken damage right now. LoH retcon seems unnecessary, but I don't object to it.

Also, Edward is just a bit too far for PBS, even with the five-foot step I gave him.
Edward lands a pair or arrows in Red's hide!

    R dmg: 1d6 + 7 + 2d6 ⇒ (4) + 7 + (3, 4) = 18

    And Blue!

Vojtek has now taken more damage. ;-)

are the bad guys low enough that I could drink Enlarge potion & reach with melee?

Character Sheet | Tactical Map | XP

    Ok I went back and figured out my damage: Round 1 no damage / Round 2 took 32, life link 5 / Round 3 took 32, life link 5 again / life link 5. 112 -32 +5 -32 +5 +5= 63

      Round the Fourth
    • Current HPs: 63/112

Vojtek stoically ignores his freely flowing blood. The pain from his wounds stokes the fire of his rage, and other hackneyed tropes.

He shrugs his shoulders vigorously to ensure the musculature in his arms is intact. It seems to be, so he launches into another series of attacks as soon as he sees an opening!

Focus on Red until (if) he dies, then shift to Blue

    Right Claw (Magic Weapon for the purposes of overcoming DR): 1d20 + 16 - 3 ⇒ (5) + 16 - 3 = 18 for 1d8 + 8 + 6 ⇒ (8) + 8 + 6 = 22 damage.
    Left Claw (Magic Weapon for the purposes of overcoming DR): 1d20 + 16 - 3 ⇒ (17) + 16 - 3 = 30 for 1d8 + 8 + 6 ⇒ (7) + 8 + 6 = 21 damage.

    Right Claw (Magic Weapon for the purposes of overcoming DR): 1d20 + 16 - 3 - 5 ⇒ (1) + 16 - 3 - 5 = 9 for 1d8 + 8 + 6 ⇒ (4) + 8 + 6 = 18 damage.
    Left Claw (Magic Weapon for the purposes of overcoming DR): 1d20 + 16 - 3 - 5 ⇒ (16) + 16 - 3 - 5 = 24 for 1d8 + 8 + 6 ⇒ (1) + 8 + 6 = 15 damage.

    And Wartooth Gnash!: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (19) + 11 = 30 for 1d4 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8 damage.

Vojtek's reptilian heart seems to be pumping with its customary vigor, and his limbs seem to be moving properly, but the barbarian realizes perhaps his right arm is responding a little sluggishly. When he glances down and notes the exposed tendons below his right biceps which seems to confirm his hypothesis.

    Ali: Sure.

It takes both claws and his bite (courtesy of double digit rolls), but Vojtek finally drops Red!

Now Vojtek savaging the dying creature, the Varisian lad shifts his focus to Mr Blue. His favored tomahawk back on his magical belt, Kappi takes it up and lefts fly!

perhaps we need a little help TS, who should be up to finish the round?

Was AFK most of the weekend, and came into work to, er, a fecal flurry.

Votjek, Ali, and Kappi have each gone. That leaves Davosh and Edward.

Kappi's tomahawk manages to hit the hexed AC!

    Ali drinks a potion!

Because your GM tries not to be a dick (please note that he does not always succeed), I'm going to assume Davosh also wanted to Cackle to keep his other hexes in place...before he uses the Misfortune hex.

Can’t move my pog on the map please do so, it wasn’t done last round either which lead to me still being out of PBS range

Time to die beast, you shall no longer habitat the mother maiden or crone.

    LongBow + PBS: 1d20 + 11 + 1 ⇒ (13) + 11 + 1 = 25
    Damage: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
    Longbow +PBS: 1d20 + 6 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 6 + 1 = 12
    Damage: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7

    LoH Self: 2d6 + 2 ⇒ (5, 6) + 2 = 13

Ok Vojtek is the only one with damage.. so he has already accounted for 3 rounds of healing so none this round for him... that puts Ed -15 +13 from LoH = -2 hp 69/71

Edward was absolutely moved last round.

    Emphasis added.

Edward's first shot hits, though his second, even with the warlock's hex, cannot connect!

The three-armed fey maneuvers with ease, getting away from the rest of the party while still focused on Vojtek!
