Will do. I need to fix up a few things in the tag.

FYI, I'm at a convention this weekend, meaning posts are likely to be spotty. I will check in as time and slots permit.
Which is to say, apparently, never. LOL

Vojtek Wartooth |

Gents (and Joe) - I've got a stupid busy week this week and next. I will probably have extremely limited access during the day. I trust any of you with Vojtek if the need arises.

This question to the DM might have been lost in the rush to convention.
When will you be awarding XP?
I'm currently accustom to S's way of after each combat, or important scene. If we ding a level we need to wait for an appropriate time to actually level. I also like to track exactly which post it comes from. It helps when looking back for certain treasure awards or combats that you end up discussing later.... isn't that right Morkelb? lol

GM thunderspirit |

Well, I'd say "never" but a) I'd lose five players and b) not actually gonna do that. ;-)
This AP is divided into four parts, and my initial pan was to check xp at those stops. If you guys would rather do it otherwise, I can adapt. ;-)

Dungeon Master S |

That's fine by me. I'm totally down for whatever as long as it comes ;-)

![]() |

Indeed. I find that marking unidentified/unappraised treasure with the encounter whence it came makes it easier for the GM to recall the nature of the item(s) when identification is finally successful.
Mike, I put a treasure tab on the google docs xp sheet, if you want to use that to track the post number I can put the same formula there as in the xp worksheet, or if you want just put the page/post number when you list the treasure in your profile.
I'm cool with whatever direction you go. My only question is if you only award xp at each break, could that be more than a single level at a time, and if so might that throw off the challenge ratings?
I sure would hate to have a TPK since the module expected 4 3rd level characters through a "gauntlet" instead of 4 with 2nd level abilities.

GM thunderspirit |

It certainly could work out to more than one level at a time, but I'm aiming at the recommendations at the beginning of each book that ballpark where the party should be when.
Y'all should be challenged, but not overwhelmed.

Dungeon Master S |

Yeah, if you've never looked inside a Paizo AP, they're extremely well put together. There's a ton of advice in the margins. They also help you with references as they USE their products, and even 3rd party stuff. One of my biggest gripes about 3.5 is that it never used anything outside of the core.

GM thunderspirit |

Congrats! Whatcha gonna do now that you're old enough to drink legally? ;-)

Vojtek Wartooth |

Gents (and Joe) - this week is gonna be another suck-fest at work. I doubt I'll be able to post more than once first thing in the AM and then late at night. Any of you can operate the hack-o-matic that is Vojtek. Unless something absurd jumps into this fight I wasn't planning on raging vs. brownies.
Sorry and thanks!

Just remember: it is better to receive than to give.
Or:
Little Boy Blew. He needed the money.

I must say, I'm always amused by you guys' reactions to the fact that Ali is female. :-) I had no idea it would cause as much ... interest as it has.
I'm pleased. heh. Makes me feel pretty.

Traveling today (well, stuck at the airport, which kinda counts, I suppose), so probably won't get anything up until this evening.

Davosh the Wanderer |

Congrats again. So when is VL going to appear in your doohickey.

GM thunderspirit |

Congrats again. So when is VL going to appear in your doohickey.
It gives the V-L title on any post I make in the Pathfinder Society forums, but lets me keep aliases and PC personas in other places. Click on my hyperlinked name and take a look! :-)

Anyone know if our GM has his INTERWEBS back up?

Kappi Matarito |

Im trying to roleplay it. Kappi is 16 yrs old and even if Ali isnt "hot", she certainly is exotic between her elven blood and fighter/mage thing going on. She would certainly put him out of his comfort zone.

Davosh the Wanderer |

V-L = Venture-Lieutenant. It's a title in real life for PFS volunteers who do a bunch of stuff.

GM thunderspirit |

It's also a lot less impressive than it sounds. ;-)

Vojtek Wartooth |

/Salute!

I actually prefer the dice rolls on the table out in the open. No fudging on either side. Let the dice fall where they may and if it kills a character or two, fails a check or three such is life.
I never fudge the dice when I GM, good or bad. The random element of the game is an important one, I think. Sometimes it's better to be lucky than good, while other times even the best tactics in the world aren't enough to save you.

GM thunderspirit |

Also, I don't much care if you guys check out something I've spoilered as long as you strive to separate player knowledge from PC knowledge. And you're always welcome to do so after an encounter is over. Helps make sure my math is good. :-)

Perhaps we can give you something in return? Im not sure what you like but I have some sweet candy. You might like that.
I dunno, but this one gave me shudders of eww and then mirth, when I realized that Kappi is only repeating things from his past....
"would you like to have some sweet sweet candy in my van down by the river little boy?" hahahahahah

I horse would certainly want some sugar cubes. Ungulates are pretty similar to horses, figured they might want sweets too.
What the hell else do you offer animals other then food?
![]() |

Ohhh I know they do. Sugar cubes, carrots, apples. The really like eating corn off the stalk, a small herd can ruin several acres of corn in a hurry.
I wasn't trying to say that it was something bad to suggest, just that I'm a dirty old man, and well I can't resist a cheap joke. By the way did you click the link?

Well Joe, I guess that link explains why you offered me and Steve to move into your place all those years ago... I always wondered why there were no doors on the bathrooms. Mystery solved!

GM thunderspirit |

In transit much of today (yay, airports... >.<), so my contributions as GM will be spotty at best.
It's been a pleasant stay here in Utah; we've never been before, and Park City is picture-postcard idyllic to see. On the other hand, it'll be very nice to be home.

GM thunderspirit |

You live in Chi-raqistan right?
Thereabouts. Basically, draw a line on a map between Chicago & Madison, WI, and then another between Milwaukee & Rockford, IL. Where the two lines cross is just about our town, tho we both work in Chicago.

Vojtek Wartooth |

I'm laughing because that complex procedure would require a map, which would presumably have the town on it... and since no one probably has a paper map on which to trace lines they would be using Google Maps which has a handy search function.
So without straight up Google-stalking you and using paper taped to my monitor to give me straight lines between cities... How is Delavan this time of year?
Fun riddle BTW... thx for the entertainment!

Ali'yanah D'ohr'hein |

funny, you find Paris in a similar fashion. Draw a line where north to south is the greatest distance apart in France; and do the same east to west. Intersection = Paris

GM thunderspirit |

What can I say, while I get plenty of use out of Google Maps too, I'm old school enough to love paper maps. I think it's the wannabe explorer in me. Or maybe I'm just old.

GM thunderspirit |

FYI, I will be AFK most of this weekend helping out a fellow V-L at a nearby convention. I can (probably) post tomorrow morning (CDT), but after that I likely won't be back online until Sunday evening.

As long as one of those good D&D films was "Highlander" — and another wasn't "Dungeons and Dragons" — I approve.
I hate to admit it with this crowd, but the more times I see Highlander, the less impressed I am. That movie really doesn't hold up well.
Now, Dragonslayer--THAT held up. :-)
