Damnit Nilus, every time I miss that DR...

Ayesha

Ayesha is up!

Female Magus 12 | AC 26 T 16 F 21| HP 102| F +9 R +9 W +8 | Init +11 | Perc +18

Ayesha pushed forward, casting a small spell to make her blade sparkle with electricity before slashing out at the minotaur infront of her.

There's a loud zap as Ayesha sweeps upwards, slicing a huge wound in the minotaur in front of her. Now with a clear line of sight, Arueshalae unleashes a torrent of arrows through the bars of the portcullis. The minotaur in front of Ayesha is riddled with arrows and collapses. Roaring a challenge, the minotaur in the back lowers its horns, and charges right for Ayesha... who side-steps it the last moment.

WHAM!

The minotaur slams into a column to Ayesha's right, and is almost knocked flat by the impact of its charge.

Round Three:

Sarkast
Nilus (-18)

Everyone is up! One minotaur left.

With a blinding speed, Sarkast appears to disappear as he runs around the minotaur; he reappears as he stabs it in the back.

Swift action to become invisible, move to get behind it, standard to attack.

Female Magus 12 | AC 26 T 16 F 21| HP 102| F +9 R +9 W +8 | Init +11 | Perc +18

Not seeing any other targets, and knowing that her friends are all about, Ayesha conserved her spells and simply lashed out at the minotaur with her scimitar. She smiled in triumph as her blade slashed low across the mino's belly.

.

The group quickly surrounds the last minotaur, slashing it to pieces. It collapses to the ground, and things are quiet once more as the guards for the Obsidian Sanctum are defeated.

On the bodies of the minotaurs, you find three +1 glaives. While detect magic, Ayesha notices that there are two glowing tiles on the north side of the column.

Ayesha's KNowledge Arcana: 1d20 + 19 ⇒ (4) + 19 = 23

The tiles have a telekinesis spell on them and appear that with someone good enough at using magic devices, they can be used to raise the portcullis. Similar tiles are on the other side of the portcullis.

Male Kellid Rogue (Unch) 11 / Urban Bloodrager 1 / Trickster 5| AC 29(32 w/Cmb Exp) T 18 F 22 | HP 122/122 | F +7 R +14 W +5 | Init +11 | Perc +21

While Ayesha checks the magical auras, Sarkast quietly creeps up to the stairs to get a look ahead, hugging the wall and watching for signs of traps or hidden passages.

With both elixirs active, take 10 for 38 Stealth and 40 Perception; if relevant, take 10 for 26 Survival looking for any tracks that might be visible in dustier parts of the area. ;-)

Female Magus 12 | AC 26 T 16 F 21| HP 102| F +9 R +9 W +8 | Init +11 | Perc +18

Ayesha packed away the glaives in their magical loot bag, then proceeded to check the area for magical auras.

"I think these tiles here raise and lower the portcullis. I don't have very much experience with magical devices like this, but i can try. Unless one of you others has more experience?"

If no one else steps up...:

UMD: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (4) + 13 = 17

Female CN Succubus Master Spy 6 / Trickster 3 | HP: 223/223 | AC: 31 (19 Tch, 25 Fl) | CMB: +17, CMD: 36 | F: +14, R: +17, W: +14 | Init: +9 | Perc: +27, SR: 18 | Speed 40ft Fly 50 ft (avg) | Mythic Power 7/9, Surge +1d6

Ayesha spots the tiles and starts working with them to little effect. Arueshalae perks up as the fact the tiles are attached to a telekinesis spell and starts working with them on her end.

"Almost..."

Arueshalae's UMD: 1d20 + 28 ⇒ (12) + 28 = 40

There's a click and the portcullis begins to raise up. She smiles and slips in with the group, flapping her wings out briefly. Her hooves clack quietly on the floor as she steps in, looking out after Sarkast.

As Ayesha and Arueshalae work on the gate, Sarkast creeps northwards, exploring the passageways and listening to the inner workings of the temple. Creeps up the stairs further down the hall, and hears quiet grunting noises. Moving in near-absolute silence, he peers down the hall.

A twenty-five-foot-tall, ivory-colored statue of a goat-headed man grasping a glaive with a crescent-moon-shaped blade dominates this spacious chamber from atop a five-foot-tall dais. A series of black columns speckled with white flecks lines the walkway that leads down the center to an altar at the statue's feet. The vaulted ceiling is painted to resemble a starry sky, while the floor is tiled with a black-and-gray labyrinth pattern. Blood-red curtains separate two areas east and west of the dais, which is flanked by a pair of massive braziers.

Standing before the altar are two blue, horned demons. Thanks to the fight with the minotaurs being over in seconds, they do not appear to have been alerted.

This muscular, violet demon walks upon elephantine feet. Large, razor-sharp horns cover its body.

Aside from that, his highly sensitive ears hear muted conversation from the double doors to the west, and to the east, silence.

Knowledge Planes DC 25:

The blue demons Sarkast spotted at Kalavakus demons. They are the slavers of the abyss, noted for their ability to consume the souls of mortals. They have the typical immunities and resistances of demons.

Map is updated.

Assuming Sarkast can describe the demons:

k. planes: 1d20 + 19 ⇒ (19) + 19 = 38

"Sounds like Kalavakus demons. The color is a dead giveaway. Slavers that can swallow a mortal soul. It takes good-aligned weapons to get through their demonic skin, and they will be resistant to most of my magics. Take the moment to align your weapons, if you can, and I will caste a haste spell on us before we attack."

Ayesha suited deeds to words as she took out her dragon scale and touched it to Darb N'ssiar. Then, as the others prepares to fling themselves into battle, she cast her haste spell.

Male Kellid Rogue (Unch) 11 / Urban Bloodrager 1 / Trickster 5| AC 29(32 w/Cmb Exp) T 18 F 22 | HP 122/122 | F +7 R +14 W +5 | Init +11 | Perc +21

As Ayesha describes the demon's defenses, Sarkast has a momentary flash of emotion and a feeling that all will be well.

Yay, angelic bloodline! My melee attacks are automatically good aligned AND do +1d6 to evil outsiders!

.

The demons seem to be a little alerted by the noise from the down the hall, but minotaurs are noisy anyways. They remain on alert and completely unaware of Sarkast and the rest of the group further down the hall.

Just checked the map ... Sarkast had to come back to tell what he saw, so he would have been in position to receive the prayer. He then sneaks back into position to wait for the others. He will try to get a surprise attack when the demons respond to the others moving up.

Sounds good.

Sarkast sneaks into position, and gives the signal to the group to attack!

Sarkast would be too far away to be included in Haste, but that's ok.

Ayesha shook free of the compulsion that had turned her mind against her friend and charged the demon that she could see. The kalavakus respond with sudden disarm attempts, both of which are successful! Their bony horns send Radiance and Darb N'ssiar clattering to the floor. They then leap upon Nilus and Ayesha, ripping and clawing.

Nilus takes 22 damage (counting DR on each attack). Ayesha takes 62 damage. Nilus and Ayesha are disarmed! Everyone is up!

Kalavakus:
Square (-32) (hasted)
Plain (-57, bewildered) (hasted)

Sarkast watches the demons disarm his friends. To help them out, he moves quickly to engage both.

Mythic Rogue shenanigans, engage! ;-)

Begin full round action to attack Plain. After his primary attacks, spend a swift action for Sudden Charge to move and attack Square. Finish full attack action on Square. Assuming both get hit, they will be unable to take AoOs while Ayesha and Nilus re-arm themselves.

If sneak attack hits, target is Slowed (unable to make attacks of opportunity) for 1 round. In addition, target is Bewildered (-2 AC, -6 vs Sarkast) and Disoriented (-2 attack, -6 vs Sarkast) for 1 round. For each additional sneak attack, extend duration by 1 round or until a new effect is applied.

Invisible (+2 and target denied DEX bonus), Mythic Prayer. Plain is already Bewildered (-6 AC), Square will be after taking his first hit.

Gah! Dejik posted, the number was 27, then it double posted. She deleted one of them, and the result re-rolled the channel. It was 27, though. (Which only really matters because it was just enough to give her and Ayesha both Overflowing Grace.) ;-)

I did not...dang it. Ah well. Radiance can get picked up next round I guess.

Invisibly, Sarkast leaps around the area, stabbing and distracting one kalavaku before turning to the other, and completely gutting it. The demon collapses to the ground, dead. Nilus then yanks out his longsword, viciosuly cutting intot he other demon.

Finally, Arueshalae sends an arrow soaring in, which takes the demon in the back. Nilus takes advantage to decapitate it with a backhand. The demons are dead.

Ayesha flashed a quick smile of thanks to Dejik before making her way to the demons' bodies. With sure strokes, she decapitated each, then began looking over their corpses and the surrounding areas for anything of use.

"I keep others on hand for various purposes, but to be separated from Darb N'ssiar...it is not a good feeling. Nilus, I am sorry for the thoughts I was feeling. I know they may not have been my own, but even the thought of attack you nearly destroyed me. I am glad once again for our sister's magics. They helped me hold on long enough to break through the demon's control."

Nilus flashes a smile at Ayesha. The Goddess provides. I am untroubled.

Nilus turns to Sarkast and Arueshalae Friend Sarkast. Lady Arueshalae. Which way should we be about? We dare not tarry here long lest the enemy marshall his forces en masse against us.

Still invisible, Sarkast quickly moves around the room, looking for any signs of traps on the doors and curtains, then carefully peers behind the curtains to see what they hide.

Arueshalae flaps her wings briefly as she retrieves her arrow from the demon's corpse. She shrugs over to Nilus.

"Unfortunately I know nothing of the layout of this place, I only knew the location. I am here to kill the worshipers of Baphomet and stop the distribution of Nahyndrian - one door is as good as another to me."

Sarkast peeks behind the two curtains, and pulls them back to reveal they are side chambers used for priests, neither of which have occupants.

The left chamber contains a seven-armed run within a circle. Ayesha identifies it as a magic circle against evil, focusing inwards. Likely used for summoning demons.

To the right is a meditation room furnished with tables and chests. It contains the following set in a meditation area and in a chest.

- an ivory statuette of Baphomet
- a silver bowl, likely for blood offerings
- several wooden holy symbols of Baphomet
- 4 cat-o'-nine tails
- 6 worship books for Baphmet, written in Abyssal
- four vials of unholy water

The following objects of value are also found:

- 2 potions of enlarge person
- 4 potions of unnatural lust (marked 'to overcome nerves')
- an elixir of love
- 5 potions of cure moderate wounds
- a scroll of resurrection
- a scroll of greater restoration

Sarkast's enhanced perception quickly picks out a false bottom on the chest as well. It has one more item.

- a book with a strong magical aura

While the group begins to go over the loot, Sarkast checks the other doors, listening at them. To the right, he hears what sound like the grunts of minotaurs behind a couple of doors and the shuffle of paper. To the left, he hears indistinct conversation. Neither sound is immediately on the other side of the doors.

Ayesha poked through the loot, pointing out specific magic items and handing them out for others to hold. The potions of Enlarge Person went to Nilus to hold, and the curatives went one to each. She started to pour out the lust potions, then thought better of it and put them into her pack, along with the ivory statue and bowl. The rest of the items were distributed in the bags of holding for sale.

Then, she turned her attention to the book. Focusing on it carefully, she tried to ascertain its abilities.

.

There's actually three exits leading from this area and I listed two. I'll re-list them.

Shockingly, Ayesha is unable to identify the book. It is written in common, however, and appears to be a guide on good health. It is full of diet tips, exercises, and so forth and seems strangely mundane save for the incredibly powerful aura. She recognizes the aura as evocation.

Ayesha's Knowledge Arcana: 1d20 + 19 ⇒ (10) + 19 = 29

To the east Sarkast hears a weird, slimy, twitchy sound. It's hard to identify.

To the southeast he distantly hears minotaurs.

To the west he distantly hears conversation.

Female Magus 12 | AC 26 T 16 F 21| HP 102| F +9 R +9 W +8 | Init +11 | Perc +18

"I have no idea what this book is. I mean, it's written in the common tongue, and it seems to have a strong evocation aura, but it is clearly more than it appears. I will have to think on it some more."

Ayesha tucked the book into her bag and stood. "Which way?"

If no one had any suggestions, then the points at the nearest door (NW) and indicates that Sarkast should proceed. Then, she used one of her small pearls to recall her intensified shocking grasp spell. That one comes in useful quite often.
