Ayesha steps in to swing upwards at the amoeba, her scimitar adding to her reach and allowing her to get to the creature's level with only a small hop. Unfortunately, the hop threw her completely off balance, and her elbow struck the wall, nearly causing her to lose hold of the black scimitar.

Anevia limps into view. The amoeba detaches itself, plummeting down onto Ayesha! However she nimbly side-steps and it splats on the floor. Thora's axe easily slashes into it, nearly cleaving it in two.

Sarkast pulls out his remaining spear and holds it ready. He calls out into the last room, "Someone back there pick up my dropped spear, I may need it soon!"
Move action to draw a spear, then ready an attack if the ooze or any other hostile creatures moves into a clear shot. By my count there is one on the ground in the first room, one under the ooze, and one in his hand.

That blob had a family!
Rowena takes careful aim and her shot hits dead centre. The amoeba explodes, miraculously sparing everyone in the room the brunt of its acidic attack. Rowena's arrow clatters to the ground and the group can finally rest. For a moment.

Jinxx lets out a loud whimper and Sarkast's partially healed wound from the lizard begins to burn fiercely.
Jinxx and Sarkast make Fortitude saves - DC 14.
With the hectic, long combat finally over you can finally take a look around the room. This appears to be a common room with a table strewn with dice and clay jugs. Stained canvas pillows rest on chairs, and a copper bowl filled with coals hangs from the ceiling, filling the room with warmth and an orange glow. A pit in the southwest corner leads into a dank cavern, from within you can hear the howls of angry mongrels.
After a moment, the howls cease. Everything is now quiet.

Sarkast collects his spear from Ronan. "Thank you ... I was concerned that the mongrels might be coming back up, and wanted to make sure to remain armed." He picks up his other one from where the ooze exploded, and sheathes two, slotting the third into his thrower.
He then joins the group examining the rooms.
Sarkast can take 10 for a 19; if someone aids him, that gets over 20 without having to roll.

Fighting through the pain, Sarkast examines the room in good detail. No sounds come from the pit below as he searches. After a little while, nothing of value is found. A quick look in the garbage room reveals just that - garbage.

Sarkast notices that the scar from where the lizard bit him has stiffened up and his joints are becoming sore. He goes over to Rowena and asks, "Could you look at this? I may have been poisoned. Can you tell if it is going to get worse?"

"I don't like that she got away. We could be facing a general army of those mongrels." Still, Ayesha took the time to scan the room with Detect Magic, and see if the mongrels left anything behind.

As you search the area you check the bodies of the mongrelmen. They wear ragged clothes and carry crude clubs with no money. A couple of them have crudely carved neckwear, which look like symbols to Baphomet.
From where you are your options for exploration are back in the room where you fought the lizard. As you start looking over the area, you hear the unmistakable sound of a small girl's voice float up from the pit below.
"Help me! The bad people have me! They took me from the surface but the ladder is too high! AHHHHH--"
She lets out a blood-curdling scream which is abruptly muffled. There are now no sounds from the pit.

Sarkast moves up to the edge of the pit, and carefully leans down so that he can listen for any sounds of movement or other clues as to what is happening.

Sarkast leans over the edge of the pit, listening intently. The scream of the little girl is gone now, and he hears is the shuffling and breathing of a group. A light 'click' is heard, which sounds like someone setting a crossbow, and then some whispers in the mongrel language. Someone quietly laughs before being shushed. Finally a quiet 'pop' is heard followed by a loud swallow.

Sarkast moves back to the group and whispers. "They have set a trap for us. There is at least one crossbow cocked and aimed, and someone drank a potion of some sort. Any ideas?"

When Last we Left Our Heroes
All of you had been in Kenabres for the celebration of Armasse. it was the last days of the fourth crusade, which had been falling apart due to internal corruption. While at the festival, the demons struck. Khorramzadeh the Storm King fought Terendeleve the Silver Dragon in a titanic battle, winning easily. A rift was created, which sent all of you plummeting into the darkness.
Awakening, you found yourselves with a Riftwarden by the name of Aravashnial, a proud-arrogant elf who had lost his eyes. Anevia was a former rogue and now wife of a famous crusader. Horgus was an acerbic, unpleasant nobleman. You came together and fought through the caverns, defeating a variety of vermin and then consecrating an old temple. During these travels, you began to unearth evidence that a cult of Baphomet was alive and well on the surface.
You then came upon the village of Neathholm, a settlement of mongrelmen, a strange people warped by magic. Aravashnial is convinced they are the descendants of crusaders. There, you were given food and rest and directions to the surface, on the condition you destroyed mongrel 'traitors' who had banded together with demon cultists on the surface.
You are now in the den of the mongrel traitors, having defeated many of them. An open pit with a rope ladder now lies before you. A panicked girl's voice has been calling for help, and you are convinced that the ladder down leads to a trap.

Everyone is up! I have Meriui and Thora on autopilot right now. They will act according to group orders - otherwise I'll just play them as I think is best. Descending the rope ladder is a move action. Map is updating.

Nope, Jinxx has 5' vision like everyone else in the cloud. Here are the spell details.
A misty vapor arises around you. It is stationary. The vapor obscures all sight, including darkvision, beyond 5 feet. A creature 5 feet away has concealment (attacks have a 20% miss chance). Creatures farther away have total concealment (50% miss chance, and the attacker cannot use sight to locate the target).
A billowing cloud appears under Jinxx, who calmly floats down to the ground below before scampering to the side.
Thora bellows something and slides down the rope after Jinxx. She hits the bottom with a clank and moves to the side.

Ayesha and Meriui both slide down the rope. The light from Meriui's sword provides some dim point to focus on in the fog. The gigantic flapping shadow of the bat can be dimly seen, and the howls of the mongrels are everywhere. The sound of the mongrels battling the bat is heard.

The mist vanishes as Rowena dismisses it, the light from Meriui's sword flooding the cavern. Rowena's beautiful shot rips through Wenduag's shoulder, drawing a shriek of pain from the mongrel.

As soon as the mist dropped, Ayesha cast her spell. Ribbons of colored light snaked out across the mongrelmen in front of her, entrancing, blinding, and stunning those that were too slow to close their eyes.

Ronan makes his way down the rope to see if he can be any help. Seeing all the mongrels and he looks at the one holding the club in front of Thora, with a gesture he casts grease on the club in the mongrels hand.

Thora lets out a mighty roar, despite her wounds, and slashes at the mongrels, trying to cleave some heads off. Her first swing misses and the second embeds itself in a mongrel, barely missing its unprotected neck.
