Heto would assume as forward as a position as he could, but not make a fuss about it and allow anyone who insists the chance to stand in front of him.

We should put some bodies between Burlee and the honorable Acolytes; in case the professor's information is wrong or Burlee gets over zealous in his new found cleanliness.

The party enters the Restlands on the Black Path and continue until you reach the intersection with the Eversleep. There is only one standing crypt nearby that fits the location indicated by Professor Lorrimor's journal. The crypt itself is a freestanding granite mausoleum, the roof of which is decorated with a pair of leering gargoyle statues. A single stone door with a rusty looking lock sits in the mausoleum’s south facade, When the Acolytes approach the crypt they realize the lock has been recently tampered with. The locking mechanism appears to have been dissolved by some kind of acid and just spun to appear locked. Once they open the doors they allow the PCs to lead the way.

Restlands Map updated

current encounter map soon to appear at the top of the screen in the campaign description, you can place your characters in any way you prefer this just seemed like the most likely positions

Once within the Crypt, a flight of stone steps leads down into the
cold earth to a large crypt lined with empty niches—no dead are interred here, professor Lorrimor's journal seems to be accurate so far. There stand two statues in the center of the room, cloaked figures facing one another with swords drawn. the room is very dark with only the faint moon light lighting the path in front of the door. You need to decide what kind of light sources you will use to illuminate the area. Also everyone make a perception and survival check.

Heto is alert once shown the tampered lock. All the more proof of the dangers the professor feared.

It is good that the small one can create light, I must be sure to thank her once the task is complete.

Heto's remaining thoughts though, are focused on action, or preparing for it at least. His breathing slows slightly and becomes deep and deliberate. His muscles tense and relax; coiled and ready to act. He draws his temple sword. Even the statues he views with distrust, moving carefully with the group but constantly scanning around for any movement or sign of danger. He shifts through fighting stances fluidly as they walk forward.

Burlee, wearing a large-brimmed feathered hat and a rather garish outfit, walks with extreme distaste. His mustache and beard are curled rather violently, due to the cleaning fluids and water. He walks, and his luxurious curls bounce with every step. "Ah hate e'rythin'."

When he walks by the gargoyles, he looks up, flipping his hat off his head because of how in-the-way it was. "Oi, dem beasties." He rolled his eyes, looking at them. His dark vision makes him able to pierce the darkness, though only in black and white. Luckily that hat's gone. Stupid hat.

Forgive my tardiness, I have been job searching and its been pretty rough

Due to the nature of the area, Genesis reached into his bag and pulled out a sunrod. With a strong action he brought forth the light from the sunrod and tied it firmly in a knot to keep it at his side. His left hand often lightly tapped on the handle of his blade as he looked around for anything hazardous or threatening.

Talking in this current situation, could very well bring unwanted company should they hear them.

@ Norna- you detect several magical signatures clumped in one 3ft location on the other side of the door, but you are unable to determine their properties but all seem to fairly low level magic. You notice a pair of footprints but lose interest in where they lead

@ Heto- you notice a pair of footprints left behind on the dusty floor leading into the room and through the uppermost door.

@ Eldon- You are still quite distracted from the recent images of the fully nude burly Burlee. you notice nothing of interest

@ Genesis- you fumble around with the sunrod finally placing it at your side, slightly blinded from looking directly at it for so look you have to allow you eyes readjust to the low-light in the room.

Lets roll initiative!

Eef ya spook meh, yer nae gon'a heve a head." He whispers this, stepping very lightly, his curly beard and mustache bouncing with the steps he takes, his rump wiggling in front of Eldon.

It took him some time for his eyes to adjust to the light given off by the sunrod, it was only then that he had heard what Heto had said and drew his long blade. He wasn't as stealthy as the rest of the group could be, so perhaps he should allow then to get a sneak attack and then rush in? Or should he act as a target for them and have them come in for a possible ambush? Genesis decided for the better positioning of the party, that he act as a target and moved forward towards the door ready to open it when the others gave the signal.

The party positions around the door readying their weapons and when prepared throw the door open to find another hallway darker then the former room still there is another set of steps that head deeper into the earth. Once the door opens Norna immediately feels a waft of the magically auras as less obstructions block her abilities, the signatures appear to be centered in the middle of the room potentiality within or around the sarcophagus on the lower level.

Heto, using the simple hand gestures learned at the temple, directs the larger more combat ready folks to fan out and the casters to stay protected by them. While his companions had not been trained as he was, the gestures were simple enough and everyone already seemed to take to this plan; he thought no one would have trouble understanding.

He himself moves forward towards the obvious sarcophagus, but scans the room for movement and threats in any direction as he goes.

As the group moves into the room with the sarcophagus, Norna stifles the urge to whistle - something she learned from some human settlements she traveled through. She never really understood the purpose of doing so: was it to keep evil spirits away, or bravado in the presence of death and the dead? Something useless but comforting, she supposed.

Instead, she moves to a position behind Heto, Genesis, and Burlee, casting Guidance on each, so a that a little bit of Desna's fortune will be theirs. It was difficult to summon the strong voice which was necessary for spellcasting in the midst of the ... yes, deathly quiet, but at least she had faith it wouldn't be useless.

It's just possible that Lena is a little unhinged.

the few whispers from Norna and Heto seem to have no effect in the crypt but once Eldon screams" NOOOO!" there begins som rustling in different spots around the walls the party having expected the worse isn't surprised when they see the segmented horror writhe and twist their way out of the sizable cracks in the walls. Heto knows he must act quickly to protect the Acolytes. Thankfully Burley dispatched the beast in front of him, and with the grotesque display he was sure between Genesis and the dwarf the other would not last long.

Returning to the father with his acolytes dead would not bode well for our time in town...

Since I am too far away to move and attack I will run and stand next to the hurt acolyte to attack that centipede when able next round.

While the story is making me want to hurt things more, I don't think that is the best way to inform Eldon that his storytelling helps the situation; I will just keep quiet about it.

1.Vladlena- Fired a bolt from her hands and killed a centipede

3.Burlee- Moved and swung his Axe killing a centipede
4.Eldon- begins to encourage his allies

flame bolt: 1d20 + 4 + 1 ⇒ (16) + 4 + 1 = 21 (+1 inspire courage)

Then she draws her dagger

I know the baddies go first, but since I work all day I figured I would post now rather than making everyone wait until tonight.

Heto makes swift movements with his temple sword slicing with incredible speed.

Flurry of blows with the temple sword with extra +1 from inspire courage.

Attack 1: 1d20 + 3 + 1 ⇒ (9) + 3 + 1 = 13

Lena, it probably wouldn't have made a difference, but you can roll a hit twice with bit of luck, taking the better result. So, even if you hit, you can try for the critical hit.

I'll be out of the country for a day, but I'll make Eldon's next post in advance. If my turn in round 3 comes before I'm back; Eldon will continue telling his story during combat.

Eldon continues to tell his story, which becomes taller and taller. "...so after the lady finished shaving her husband's beard, we had some coffee. And dear oh dear, that was some fine coffee! It was exactly at that moment the door was destroyed and a minotaur came barging in, claiming the coffee was his. Of course I, with my grand skills of deduction, realized the minotaur was lying. So I took my wooden spoon and hit him on the head! Next thing I knew..."

Oops, thanks norna, I forgot about that.

extra roll to hit: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (14) + 5 = 19

Vladlena strikes again as she emerges from behind the door but doesn't deal the deadly strike like before. The creature is however wounded and shrieks in pain.
Baddie 1- The topmost baddie will take a 5ft step and attack Vladlena.
1d20 + 2 ⇒ (15) + 2 = 17 1d6 - 1 ⇒ (2) - 1 = 1 Vladlena Fortitude save: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (17) + 1 = 18 The Attack lashes out too high and the small halfling is easily able to duck

Baddie 2- Moves diagonally next to Heto and unwittingly gets him in a flanking position.
1d20 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (19) + 2 + 2 = 23 1d6 - 1 ⇒ (6) - 1 = 5 Heto's Fortitude save: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (17) + 3 = 20 The Centipede latches onto Heto neck digging his pincers deep into the Monk's flesh, leaving a deep gash. The poisonous bite seems to have no effect

Heto-The Monk unleashes a flurry of blows striking at both of the centipedes but both seem to just barely miss.

Eldon-continues his epic story conferring the +1 benefit to attack and damage rolls

Including -4 for firing into melee.
Norna moves to the doorway and fires her light crossbow at the nearest centipede; it seems that the luck of Desna is with her!

Norna with Elven precision snipes the centipede as it recoils from its vicious attack on Heto. Her bolt strikes in a joint near the head and disappears into the creature, it wobbles for a few moments but then falls to the ground a puddle of black bile starts to form on the ground around the slain beast.

Male Dwarf Level 2 Barbarian

Burlee gracefully dodges the attacks on him from the centipede creatures, like the wind through a valley. He winds up his attack, jams his axe down, and obliterates the creature's head. "'Atta girl! Go down nice en easy." He pats the body, then turns to the other one, when Genesis just annihilates it. "WELL then, ya know how taer fight, laddeh."

He sees the acolytes rush toward him, stopping behind Eldon and Genesis. "Oi! You e'er clean dis plece?' He tuts, trying to look over the Acolytes and Genesis, who are considerably taller than he. "Ya still kickin', Reddy? Ah know Monky's doin' fine, an' Noop-da-Woop'll meke it." He shrugs, not waiting for a response. He looks around.

"Ah'm gettin' too ol' fer dis shi'." He mumbles to himself before setting his axe down like a cane and walking forward. If there are no traps, he'll waddle over in front of the sarcophagus and sit, waiting for the clean-up crew to finish their duty.

He's not smart enough to look where he walks

Burlee plops onto the floor and waits like an inpatient child. He doesn't see or trigger any traps on his waddle towards his current location.
