Wren huffs at something only she can see and feel, annoyed by something. He glares at someone, maybe Bronin but maybe not, and then focuses on the assailants again. No, no, no, she's not totally passive-aggressive or anything. Far from it.

The guys in the orb are screwed, I'm gonna hand-wave.

While Wren tries to communicate with a fellow bird-brain, Adder quickly takes down another mohrg. Finally the group overwhelms the three novices stuck in the big water blob, cutting the evil monks without difficulty.

End of Combat

You find the following on the novices:

Loot:

- Four amulets of mighty fists +1
- four rings of protection +1
- four potions of cure moderate wounds
- four giant wasp venom (2 doses each)

Pleased with your work, you peer down the south hall, which goes beyond your light source - but you hear the bubbling of alchemical equipment in that direction.

Well done. Well done. We sure did manhandle those monks and the undead. The ferocious wall held and the people who shape the mystical ...uh...stuff.. did their hocus pocus.
He admires the water orb that was created.

Something *REALLY* special right there. Something special indeed.

Wren ends her avian mind meld when the sound of combat dissipate, flying up near the ceiling as she follows the others down the hall.

She pauses and sends two pairs of her remaining four Prying Eyes down the hallway in pairs, asking that the look around and return if they get attacked or finish exploring the area.

While she waits for them to return, she will identify the magics of the dead.

Wren's little bird-eyes float southwards to explore the next area.

Tremendously complicated alchemical equipment crowds the wooden tables in this chamber, all condensing some thick, black fluid. Iron spikes impale several drained corpses to the walls, their bodies sprouting leaky hoses filled with vile ichor.

Strange automatons that are a strange combination of what looks like the spare parts of the laboratory and moving among them is a wizened robed figure, clearly undead. Wren knows a lich when she sees one.

As the prying eyes flit about the room, the lich turns, its disturbing pinprick eyes sighting the spell.

"Curious, aren't you? I thought I heard a fight. Well you are too late - the master rises! Come my creatures, battle awaits."

The lich quickly starts grabbing vials from nearby tables and downing them while the golems animate and begin stomping towards the north entrance. The eyes return and report back these events to Wren.

"Oh no. Maybe we should come back later? It's...uh...it's unseemly in there. Golems and liches and all sorts of unholy gobbledygook," Wren explains what she saw.

She probably assumes that the goon squad won't retreat and are (correctly) ready to stir some s$$~ up, and she's willing to hang in the back and chitter with annoyance at people's failures offer construct advice.

In preparation, she casts Mass Fly on the party and True Seeing on herself before engaging in the battle.

"Get ready. Golems don't come to pet kittens," Wren advises seriously.

Golems and liches you miserable piddlespotters! Let's do this!

I'll post later. at work now.

Danger coming? VestalElena... Bronin stumbles over the words, as he subconsciously reverted back to assuming Elena was a damsel in distress. well, is she a vestal anymore? Is she in danger from this fight, or does she have ways to cause damage like that seen at the WoundWorld?
Bronin shuts his mouth. Not knowing what to say.

Seeing a nice open path to the golems ahead, Whiskeyjack raised his shield and hammer and rushed forward.

"ANGRAAAADDDDDD!"

The hammer whistled down to strike the golem on his left, and Whiskeyjack smiled as the strike flew. There were six people in that last fight and he hadn't gotten to smite any of them! And then his feet hit a slick patch of floor. He nearly lost his balance, wavered, was fine, and then his shield caught Raven's Head on the downswing and he missed the golem completely. He ended with his hammer head on the floor and his shield badly out of position.

Wren creates a pit which only takes out one of the golems, leaving the entryway open for the party to stream through. The golem vanishes from sight, landing with a loud crash at the bottom of the pit below.

Meanwhile, Whiskeyjack charges in, swinging and missing wildly but sounding pretty great as he thunders the name of his God.

Adder, Bronin, and Lena are up!
