Hey guys, exhausted wreck - post will be tomorrow morning if I can hack it.

.

The group focus their attacks intensely on the remaining dimensional shamblers, which fall beneath their incredible assault. The room itself seems to shudder violently, as if reality has malfunctioned, and the shamblers are gone. Lena drops to the ground with an 'oomf' and Pot Pie starts pecking the ground where the shambler once was.

End of Combat

The tunnel leads westwards towards, at least check, a large number of skum.

Wren looks pleased at the wreckage, impressed. She notes the damage done by WhiskeyJack most of all.

"Well done, W'Jack," Wren coos. "Seems like our new fighters have breathed some life into your axe." She looks over to Bronin, then Jameson. "Yes, you did fine, all trying so hard to impress me, my little dearies."

Wren fluffs her feathers while waiting for others to be healed, keeping an eye out for trouble.

When others are ready she will follow the party to the next spot. She has done what she can to prepare them for the dangers ahead.

Whew. Very well done team. I feel that since we are all still going super fast, that we should heal quickly and move forward.
Whiskey, can you please make me stronger? Is that okay?
Lena- prepare the fireball, I'll draw them out right now.
Wren - I am glad you were impressed with my manly prowess.
and he gives a wink to the ugly but motherly Wren who obviously needs reinforcement that her beauty has not looooong since disappeared.

Bronin takes a drink from his CLW potion - unless the CLW wand is not in use. He's trying to be efficient with Wren's Haste and gives a round or two for people to heal and to get a Bull Strength buff (if available or if Whiskey wants to even give).
CLW Potion or Wand1d8 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4

Next round, he moves forward. Not sneaking, but double move to get the Skums attention and draw back.

Bronin wants to check in on the status of his fellow compatriots, but also sees the advantage that Wren's magics have created starting to ebb away - and there's a bigger fight up in these cave pockets.
They generally look okay, and no one has an organ hanging out. Heck, the super large chicken is fine - if rather sparse of feathers in the rear. He can ask about growing chicken later. the "Vestal" at least stopped crying from the battle trauma.

Hope you all are okay, I'm heading forward to press the advantage.

.

Bronin wastes no time, hoping that Wren's intelligence is still correct. It is. He hops into the centre of several intersecting tunnels, and looks down to see several skum in each.

Patches of phosphorescent lichen growing on the damp ceiling
provide a dim light in this stone chamber, and the walls are decorated with disturbing, explicit carvings of skum mating with women. Mounds of soggy seaweed have been gathered into nests or beds upon the floor.

The skum sit listlessly in each of the tunnels, staring blankly ahead. Many of them have had the tosp of the heads removed, exposing their brains to the air. They turn mutely and start to shuffle towards Bronin!

Round 1, delay for Bronin

Wren worries as one of her suitors risks his life to impress her. "Bro, dearie, you don't have to face them all alone. Come back a bit so that we can help you."

Hearing the call to come back, Bronin smiles at how his new friends understand teamwork and working together.
It's working. They are coming.

He sprints back- amazed at the quickness with which his feet move under this magical effect. He could go faster and farther, but Bronin stops at a strategic chokepoint so that another can step alongside him, and cut off the Cranially challenged from spreading into the cave.
His two swords are out.
Honorable Ameera's, The Skum are coming, make certain to be at a safe distance and let the men take the vanguard.

Hasted move and then fight defensively. (+2 AC, Minus 4 to Attack rolls).

Elena watches curiously as the capless skum shamble out of their holes. "What removed the tops of their heads?"

Delay until the Skum converge in the passageway. Elena will target the largest group of them that her spell can cover.

As the skum begin to converge a small crystal set in her necklace seems to draw a small portion of the light from the luminescent fungi. Elena doesn't even notice or have any idea that she may be controlling it. The shadows slowly move as the floor leading to them becomes as dark as night as if the ground itself was giving away.

Cast Shadow Conjuration to create a spiked pit. Marked on the map but can shift in her line of sight as necessary to catch the largest concentration of Skum. DC 19 Will save to disbelieve. Failure of Will save means the spiked pit is 50 feet deep and deals 5d6 falling damage along with 2d6 piercing damage. Pass of Will save means that it is only 20% real. So 10 foot pit with 1d6 falling damage.

The warpriest then turned to see Lena chugging away at a healing potion. He glared at her wordlessly, then stomped off down the passageway after the new guy, Bronin. He moved ahead of the human as the skum came into sight, taking up a good position to stand shoulder to shoulder with the other fighter and block the tunnel.

Wren smile condescendingly at W’Jack. ”Yes, of course it is, dearie. Your sword is a very nice hammer. I’m sure you love it very much.”

Like Elena, Wren waits for the brainless to act and congregate before letting loose with a nice ball of fire. She plucks a faux-phoenix feather from her ‘armor’ and sends it hurtling towards the middle of the decapi-skum. If she can’t catch at least 5 in the blast, she will delay more.

Adder badly wounds one of the skum while Whiskeyjack dispatches one more with three swift blows of his hammer. The three skum outside of the pit continue in their frenzy and try to cross it! Two of them fall to their deaths, plunging into the strange shadow-stuff of the pit. The third is badly cut by the spikes, but manages to cross to the other wall.

The skum leap upon Whiskeyjack as their friend falls, howling and screaming in their insane, fishy way. Their engorged brains blob about in a way that isn't exactly attractive.

Wren preens, waiting for the strongfolk to finish off the deadbrains. While she does such, she ponders what is going on with the brains of the skumfolk. She watches each decapitation with interest, hoping that the insides of the heads will explain more than the outside.

Wren takes a moment to figure out why the hell their heads are cut open. From the looks of it, the skum's heads have been surgically opened with great care. However, upon closer look - in the din of combat - it's clear that their brains appear to have been tinkered with. Some have bits cut out, or what look like other brains attached with incredible surgical care. Sometimes there's wiring, other times there's discoloration from chemicals. Something has been experimenting with the skum.

Whiskeyjack and Jameson make very short work of the three skum in front of them. The last one leaps up from the pit and rushes for the party, screaming incoherently - that is until it takes a magic missile in the forehead. It flies backwards into the pit. There's a bloop sound and as the pit expires, it comes up to floor level, revealing fourteen dead skum bodies.

We will want to be quiet for now, but I'd love to hear about your time in the place called... The Furrows. I saw the map of your travels and it looked like an interesting place. Seemed like a blackspot on the map.

The skum all have high-quality scale mail and tridents, but nothing else of value. Scouring the surrounding tunnels, you're surrounded by the extremely graphic carvings of skum engaged in carnal acts with human women. You investigate the seaweed mounds, trying to look for information or discern their purpose. It appears whatever use they once had was cleared out. However, you do find out bit of information. A hand-knitted baby blanket, which has a few tiny scales, as if a fishy thing was once wrapped in it.

From here, the tunnel continues south, where a strange sort of brain-fungus was in a room, and several buzzing insectoid creatures.

"Do you think they keep the children and women alive?" Elena asks waiting for Bronin to come back. She wraps her arms tight around herself as it is much colder down in this damp cavern.

Wren, Lena, Whiskeyjack:

As to Elena's inquiries, it's fairly obvious you encountered the women and children in the depths below Undiomede House - although why they were there, rather than in this apparently more long-term and secure location is unknown. Bornin cautiously advances around the corner.

The damp walls of this dark cavern display a bewildering variety of obscure and esoteric symbols painted in bright, clashing colors and pigments.

In the centre of the room is a large fungal brain atop five ropy legs, encrusted with fungal shelves. A wide mouth with chitinous teeth gapes on top of its body, and two long tendrils lash the air above it. As Bronin advances, a bewildering array of strange, conflicting images appear over and around the creature, makings its form difficult to understand. The faces of loved ones, memorable locations, and vanquished foes twist and turn together, like your dreamstuff has been yanked out and dumped onto this creature.

To the south, fungal webbing blocks off several chambers, and within you hear buzzing and can see the silhouetted forms of what you understand to be mi-go. They appear to not have noticed Bronin.

A strange, stuffy voice screams in your mind.
