GM Red Box |

Welcome back. Things have been a bit slow as I was worried players may be having 'weather issues'. Should be an easy catch up, your fighting cats in a dark room.

GM Red Box |

I was about to bot Vedia but there are a couple Anonymous people looking at map. If no post by end of my work day I will bit and move us on.

GM Red Box |

Note:
I am going to start tracking HP loss in the initiative tracker.
- I am only showing the damage that happens in the current combat so you need to track your overall health
- Some enemies may have DR or other damage mitigation. You will not be able to tell this from the initiative tracker as I am not showing any reduction there.

Elkin Stormborn |

It's that time again! I just can't stop taking vacations, so sorry. :)
I'm going to be hitting the road Thursday afternoon, not returning until Sunday evening. This is a camping trip; if I have internet access while I'm gone, it will only be through my phone. I'll give it a shot, but I don't have high hopes; posts will be very brief if they happen.
Please bot me if I'm holding anything up. I think Elkin's combat strategy has become pretty clear (Evil Eye if the creature's not immune to mind-affecting, Misfortune otherwise; Cackle to extend both. Spells after hexes are spent.)

GM Red Box |

No problem and have fun. Front line fighter Elkin it is.
On a side note, I know it is a little slow but I am making you guys actively pick doors because it could greatly effect how this one goes.

Elkin Stormborn |

Yeah, we (the PCs) should still pick the doors, but once a decision is made (typically by the Rule of Two: when 2 PCs agree on a direction/action), it will keep things moving much quicker if you just jump on that and move us along, rather than letting us dither around in discussions.

GM Red Box |

Hmm I wasn't running as PFS but i think I can do the sheets still.

Xandar Coulsong |

You don't have to run it as pfs, you can run it like a normal ap and give sheets to us as if we played a pregen, you just need to be able to report a legal table.
I've done it like that for my home group in Hell's Rebels.

GM Red Box |

Perfect. I will work on that, probably Monday. I do not mind the GM credit either. :)

GM Red Box |

OK. I have the sheets. I have never done this as a pre-gen character so a question. Do I just leave the character name blank or do you pick which pregen you used?
Regardless if you want a sheet please send me the following:
Player Name:
Characer Name: (if it is needed, see above question?)
PFS #:

Elkin Stormborn |

Hi all, I am back. I'm just checking into Discussion on all of my games at the moment; I will circle back around and catch up in Gameplay before the end of the day today.
Thanks for your patience!
(Also, PFS Chronicles? Unexpectedly cool bonus; thanks!)

GM Red Box |

Ok, I will get them worked up between now and the end of the book once I get PFS #'s.

James Quintik |

Book 1 is level 2-4, and should give your character 3 XP and 4PP. book 2 is level 5-7, then 8-10, 11-13, 13-15, 15-17. So, if you want to apply these all to the same PFS character, you will need to plan a little... and possibly wait a long time for all of them to come in. But I don't think there is any requirement to apply them to the same character.
You could create a new PFS character for this, or pick an existing one between levels 1-4.

GM Red Box |

You could probably get someone to run the three evergreens if you wanted as well, that would get you a level 2 right off the bat but it would take some time on the boards.
I would volunteer to run them but I have 2 AP's on here and I am GMing on a home-brew server so my GM plate is full at the moment.

Xandar Coulsong |

Can always write a chronicle sheet down to a first level char but I can't remember how to handle the gold on hand.
Player Name: Jesper Sorensen
Characer Name: Should write itself in when you report it
PFS #: 63547-9

GM Red Box |

LOL. My mistake and I don't ret-con to the players disadvantage.

Zeer dives to the side as James is battered. He realizes there is only one way to deal with this beast and swings his sword down.
Attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8
Damage: 2d6 + 4 ⇒ (4, 1) + 4 = 9
He is off balance from the fray and can't get a clear swing.

GM Red Box |

I was surprised when James opened the door that quickly as well. :)
Feel free to ret-con in a heal or something if you like.

![]() |

Wow so my last swing against the rats was much worse than I originally thought....not even in the right forum *facepalm

GM Red Box |

I went with it. You guys are in a stressful situation and I am sure each of you feels you are reaching the end of a chapter. Add Augars heal btw.
Oh, and while the last fight and this fight are tough there are enough of you that I feel you can handle, if not I would have questioned so if its a TPK well, my bad.

Elkin Stormborn |

I'd often heard it said that the Witch was overpowered, particularly due to the Slumber hex. As such, I avoided the Slumber hex when building Elkin.
After playing Elkin for a while now, I'm not sure that Evil Eye and Misfortune are any less powerful....

GM Red Box |

When facing 1 enemy the witch is crazy. For this fight as it is now it is very powerful.
If the party had found the earlier White Card and not turned off the robots you would be facing her and two of the three robots in the room. The witches powers would be much less of a factor.

James Quintik |

I think Ivar has dropped off the board. I was just checking on him as he has a character in a Giantslayer game I am running, and it looks like his last post for any alias was Sep 18. Just thought I would let you know so you don't have to do the same check I did...

GM Red Box |

At some point Ivar said he was starting basic training and, if allowed, would take a sabbatical. As we are at the end of the book I figured I would half ass run him until out of the ship and have him sit idle. If he comes back he can hop back in.

GM Red Box |

Not a bad idea. I was just going to leave with Father Joram but he can also help out at the foundry with the idea he is making sure nothing else dangerous emerges from the ship.

James Quintik |

Nice - thanks for the info. I sent his character to help at the aid station nearby for my campaign, so that will keep him close for quite a while...

Traveling for a wedding this weekend, sorry for delay. Updating my gear also.

James Quintik |

I am going to be out for the next few days recovering from a surgery. I am unsure of the recovery time, but I hope to be back in a few days, a week at the latest. Please feel free to bot me while I am gone.
And stop trying to destroy the new guns! :)

GM Red Box |

Best of luck for a speedy recovery.

GM Red Box |

Folks that is the end of Book 1. Quite the milestone.
A little work for you all to level up.
Ivar will be gone for a while and I have not heard form Vedia in this or anyplace else in about a week and a half so hope everything is OK.
Please let me know in the game thread if there is anything else you want to do underground or head back to town. There will be some business up there and I am going to slow play things until James is back in fighting forum. Good time to do some shopping and tie up lose ends as well as develop characters.
