Elkin I noticed that you have sorcerer listed as well. I'm wondering what you want your role to be? Is your character planning on blasting or buff/debuff? I'd like to cover the different things if it makes sense for my character.

I just listened to a podcast on casters and I have an idea on how to get your witch more spells. I scribe the scroll and you use it to learn the spell. Cheaper than buying scrolls.

I plan on Elkin focusing on debuff mostly. VMC Sorcerer doesn't grant any spellcasting, so he's just working off of his Witch spells known, etc. VMC sorcerer is going to give him some bloodline arcana in place of feat choices later down the line.

I'm definitely going to be interested in learning spells off of scrolls with your help; that will definitely help his flexibility throughout the campaign.

@Xander - yes that is fine. We are still waiting on a couple of check ins. I would ask that you post what you have changed if it is anything major.

I think we are waiting on two check-in's and then I will get us rolling.

The group is going to start at the Town Hall but it is up to each of you if you arrived together or came independently and just arrived at the same time.

It's mostly just some skill points and maybe combat expertise, currently debating if trip will be viable enough to pay the feat cost on a class with no real bonus feats to spend on it.

It has so much flavor I kind of love it but I can understand if you don' go that rout.

It's good flavor but it cost alot, for I can only attempt to trip things that are large or smaller.

I didn't see the GM changed his mind on background skills, will have to get those also.

Note that you by the rules can't take points in fly untill you can actually fly.
"You cannot take ranks in this skill without a natural means of flight or gliding. Creatures can also take ranks in Fly if they possess a reliable means of flying every day (either through a spell or other special ability)."

@GM Petromin are gliding flyers. They appear to start with a rank in Perception, and no ranks in Fly. Nelen is sharing Elkin's rank in Perception, so the rank spent there by default doesn't really do anything. I'd like to retrain that skill rank into Fly; could I do that?

The sight has been having issues all day today so I am defiantly not going to start the gameplay thread tonight. We are also short two of the tapped players but I am honestly not going to sweat it, I can add them in or grab a new player easy enough.

I think flying makes sense given the nature of your familiar. I have also always thought it makes a lot fo sense for a witch even though it, like invisibility, are a GM nightmare imo. I will hand wave the 50gp and just say that it happened prior to the unpleasantness of the torch going out.

Howdy, all! The boards are acting funny today, so I have lost a few posts...

Jim Quintik is a wise-cracking but otherwise no-nonsense troubleshooter. He may be a bit gruff with a dry sense of humor, but is loyal to his friends and fair and just with strangers. He is fascinated by gadgets and gizmos, and not afraid to play with them (despite that they may explode in his face).

For those interested in my inspiration:
Most of my characters are a cross between two movie characters - I don't know why, but it's just for flavor. In this case, Quintik here is part Buckshot Roberts (portrayed as a grizzled old bounty hunter in Young Guns), and Star-Lord from Guardians of the Galaxy. (Also a bit of Quigley Down Under meets Buck Rogers).

Who Crystal Is...:

You've probably seen others of the Blackhill tribe around. Small rumors that the once aboriginee like tribe, dedicated to the Mountain, has come down to work in Torch and abroad for the first time ever since as far as your grand parents can remember.

Crystal is one of the few, if not the only Blackhill, who attempted to remain true to her teachings of the great God of Iron, Gorum.

She is now coming down to town, and would walk into the Tavern a loner, though not melodramatic or depressed. Due to her beauty and charisma, she is actually rather playful despite being a little estranged from others.

Things on the thread / "OOC"

While trip is useless around level 10+, it might be a lot more fun to actually have your character experience that once or twice, and discuss retraining with the GM. Especially if it was a foundational part of your character. Keeps you from being static. Despite what power builders in Pathfinder say, not everything has to be perfectly built to work at level 20 when you are level 1 :P

GM Box- Invisibility is a nightmare until about level 6, where even greater invisibility cannot break through blind sense, true seeing, and heck, even echolocation (as they are not actually GONE, so it would still find them.)

Fly is easier. You fly up... I shoot arrow... AND, now I can fireball you without you being surrounded by my friends :P

I'm excited to start, and I love that one caster saw another and went, "Hey, let's make sure we don't do the same thing!"

It was not a foundational part of him, more an extra thing he could do if the group was ranged heavy. My focus will be on enabling the party to handle combot so it'll be heavy on buffs and some controlling like confusion and illusion spells.

Edit: Redbox, since I'm dropping my archetype to make a better char to overall use the full extent of the abilities. Would you allow freeish retraining of skills I learn to use through versatile performance later?

Yes, since we talked about you dropping the archetype go ahead and make the change before we get rolling. Once we start up the game then normal retrain costs and time allocations take place.

I wouldn't be concerned about posting too much. It definitely makes sense to sometimes give some time for all players to respond, but there's never a problem making a story-based post that responds to active players but doesn't necessarily move the action yet. That keeps the active players involved, and still allows some space for the player(s) you're waiting on to post.

Campaigns on these boards don't die because of too much posting. ;)
