With the final beast fallen, Mez takes a look around the room before leading the group onward.
Perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (3) + 6 = 9Yep, we are definitely in a cave!

There is nothing of value on the dead bodies. After you all heal up and head into the well springs, This is before you.
A single, jagged pillar of rock lined with glowing blue-green moss emerges from the depths of the pool within the center of this cavern. Water courses down its side from a font near its tip, cascading into the pool below. The pool feeds a wide stream that flows rapidly along the length of the room and then under the rock wall at the southern end of the cave. Several glyphs are carved deep into the stone face of the pillar, their outlines just visible beneath the light of the moss. An
eerie sense of discomfort pervades this place.
You can do a knowledge religion on the carvings to find their meaning if you so choose.

Mez is able to tell that these are the signs of Urgathoa, More than likely whoever was in here had communicated with her and she granted them the disease. The water is mucky and foul smelling and anyone who can detect magic can tell that there is some magical properties in the water. As he party continues to look around a loud scream comes from behind the pillar. A large Orc stand there , he appears sickly and not happy, he must be the cause of it. He lifts up his arms as he begins to cast a spell. Initiative for the final encounter and a spellcraft to see what he is casting.
Jakk Initiative: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4

One of the stabs gets through his armor. Jakk lets out an angry growl.
When he was able to hold the spell from getting dazed, but when he got stabbed he got to distracted.

"Not bad, too bad Cayden Cailean watches over me!" says Mez as the wound begins closing almost as soon as it's made. He then attempts to return the favor with a flourish.

Alika stabs again and again, making sure to stay at flanking position.

It would appear we are waiting on Valymer, I will roll for him so that we can get things rolling.
With that attack, Valymer is able to take out Jakk. He only had 12 left :v

With the demise of their foe, Mez looks at the scene grimly. ”First, I think we should burn the body. Second, we should examine these runes in the water as they are probably what is causing this mess to begin with. Be careful though, who knows how virulent both Jakk and these runes are.”
Spellcraft on runes: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (20) + 4 = 24

Gm Razor |

Mez can tell that the power held in the runes is slowly starting to dissipate and that the spell on them that held the disease is slowly leaving and that if left alone in a matter of minutes the disease will completely disappear, and the water will cleanse itself.

”Hmm, well isn’t that convenient. It seems much of the disease was linked to Jakk’s connection with his corrupt god, and with his death, the runes are losing power and the water will recover on its own. Job well done I’d say. We should probably check around to make sure there are no other surprises in store for the miners when they return.” Says Mez matter-of-factly as he begins looking around the area, careful not to touch things that may be contaminated or explosive.

Defeating Jakk has an almost immediate visible effect
upon the waters of the wellspring, which begin to clear
themselves of the muck of the Plague shortly after his
death. The mine itself remains in need of purification
and most of the
contagious
elements therein will have
to be burned before it is safe to wander through the
mountain’s interior once more. The Plague symptoms
affecting the town of Duvik’s Pass will begin to subside
with the cleansing of its water supply. Its grateful citi-
zenry offer a reward of 100 gp taken from the mine’s
anticipated profits to each adventurer who helped
reclaim the area. The PCs also will find themselves wel-
comed as heroes in Duvik’s Pass for the rest of their
lives and will never need to pay for lodging or any sup-
plies within reason during their returns to that place
