Eidi brings a strong prayer to everyone, though it seems to have little effect on the tiefling. Solrisa clears the last of the Spawn, making way for the others. Mortimer burns, then makes a move on Bozal, but fails to get within ten feet of the tiefling, as he runs headlong into a wall of necromantic energy. Ascaria burns, then heals away the second degree burns on all who suffered it. Tynan advances into the room, barely able to find the only place in the room that will let his living frame remain. Eri fires two arrows, both connecting!
Solrisa tries to advance, herself, but finds just as much success as the giant.
Bozal looks over the recently-burned, disappointed that his strike wasn't more effective. He spies Ascaria, so stabs at the gnome, seeking to bring blackness to the healer. Ascaria, please make a Fortitude Save DC 17, or be rendered permanently Blind.

Mortimer readies to throw a punching dagger. Eidi tries to crack the greenish shell of the tiefling, but his own magic is not strong enough to do so. Ascaria turns inward, as the world disappears, and he heals himself with his wand. Tynan plants a dagger in Bozal's side, right before Eri succeeds in lowering the tiefling's primary defense!
Bozal bellows, as he becomes more accessible. He waddles around the stone altar, to the north of it, standing himself directly in the green beam of energy passing from the Scrolls, through the double doors to the west. He appears to gain strength from doing so, as Eri's arrows drop from his body, the wounds closing. He appears to wait for someone to advance.

Not having much energy to do much else in mid-grapple, Mortimer whimpers -- a hint of a tear welling up in his left eye.

Mortimer pushes through unholy pain to entangle the tiefling in his muscular embrace, burning Bozal in the process, though it appears the creature's thick skin dulls the potential of the flame. Eidi enhances his abilities, before wading into the fray. Ascaria gropes about, healing himself a little as he bleeds away the pain of others in his blindness. Tynan engages the newly-bundled Bozal, striking him thrice, with the help of the giant. Eri invigorates himself with bloodborne magics. Solrisa slips into flank with Tynan for some Oopsy Topsy, but slightly overbalances, and misses the tiefling, despite flank and grapple.
Bozal doesn't have time to gloat, as he realizes that his center position does him no favors. He brings his club up against Mortimer's skull, seeking release, him from the grapple, the giant, from life's tired bonds. The club itself crackles to life, as its nature and Mortimer's conflict.

The ashen man's fortitude and persistence pays off, as Tynan's blade sinks into the tiefling. Tynan needs only hold onto his sword, as Bozal slides off of it, and onto the floor, dying.
We are out-of-initiative.
The room pulses in green hue, once, then evens out in color and light. Thin green tendrils extend upwards from the tiefling's body, joining the beam of light, then disappearing.
The room becomes quiet, only a light crackle every so often, as the light from the altar continues to pulse.

Tynan needs only hold onto his sword, as Bozal slides off of it, and onto the floor, dying.
"Rest?" He groans, remembering what happened to him. "Sorry everyone. That guy slammed me with something pretty hard. Thanks for getting rid of him, and healing me."
He stands and picks the Tiefling up by his feet. Holding him upside down, he starts shaking him down, allowing his the creature's head to slam into the stone floor on each phase.
While he's doing so, he looks around at the green pulsating hue from the altar.
"This green magic, it's not like Canary's. It seems like the opposite. Does anyone know what it is?"

The unevenness of Bozal's horns becomes evident after Mortimer slams him into the floor more than once. The tiefling's skull splits open like an egg, allowing various humors to leak onto the floor.
As for other objects falling from the dead tiefling's body, there are a few. A couple of loose coins from a couple of pockets, a broken aegis, a jade holy symbol, representing a skull with worms working from the sockets, a set of keys...
More objects make themselves known on further corpse-robbing.

Eidi sighs at the sight of the cleric falling to the ground. He clenches his teeth though when the green tendrils mixture with the light and disappear "Well done... yes... good job everybody"

Provided the gnome understands, he nods and moves closer to the altar to study it, the light and the scrolls.

Solrisa chops again at the tiefling's neck, trying to ensure its death before trying to help Mort up and reclaim her bow.
"Is everyone okay!? Sol asks, smiling as if she already knows the answer and is just happy about it.
"That was a good game of oopsy-topsy, Tynan," Solrisa says, climbing a bit higher to take a look at the scrolls. Are these the scrolls we are looking for? What is the green beam? Is it gone?

Ascaria blindly looks on, nodding when Eidi suggests waiting. "No rush. I also have a scroll if it's needed." he suggests.
He waits where he is, and listens to the sounds around him while plying his wand of curing on himself.
Not sure what's going on with healing. Ascaria continues to absorb 5hp/round from the others until they're at less then 5hp down. He'll apply the wand on himself while he waits, but I need to know how much that is. So after Eidi's channels, how far down are folks? To put it another way, how much do I absorb from each of you?

First I attack her, then I get hammered by this devil cleric. I'm completely useless down here. Canary's more blind than usual, and now we need rest?
"How to protect against what he did to me and this Slay Living thing? That sounds really nasty too. The sooner we find who and what we're looking for and get out of this wretched place, the happier I'll be."

The stone altar is floor level, so all who wish to view the scrolls on its surface are able to do so. The writhing green light still emanates from the altar's top and scrolls, and still strikes the doors to the west, bathing the room in a dim green aura.
The scrolls are made of vellum, roughly five feet in length, sewn into darkwood rollers. The dense, small writing is abyssal in nature.
The scrolls are enveloped in a Temporal Stasis spell, making them untouchable, unmovable, undamageable.
These are definitely the Apostolic Scrolls. Definitely.
Reading these scrolls in their entirety should summon an ulgurstasta, to within 100' of its current location.
To the north, a hallway extends thirty feet, ending in a closed wooden door.
To the west, a set of double doors, currently bathed in green light.
To the south, the familiar sounds of men moaning softly.
