Eri returns to the fold, strengthening his bow with magics. Ascaria bleeds more from others' wounds, before healing himself with his own magics. Mortimer readies to grapple anything untoward that steps out of thin air. Solrisa beckons a return. Tynan moves north to join the front line. Eidi waits to see what unfolds, debating the magics he just witnessed.

Mortimer:

You hear nothing aside from your group's noises, though your eyes do spy something interesting in the northern wall of this room. A section of the wall appears to look worn from use in a small mid-height section. Likely a secret door.

Eidi:

You are correct- the creature isn't invisible, nor did it use something simple, like a Dimension Door. Your initial suppositions don't feel false to you.

Realizing his Message only extends so far, and seeing less of the people that may benefit from his insight, Eri calls out robustly, without his Message, to announce his need. Per PM, Eri calls out normally.

Eidi looks confused back at where the creature was, then to the calls for combat help. It takes a while for him to decide but finally moves fast after Solrisa.

By when he hits the extreme of the room in front of the corridor, he starts casting a spell while telling Solrisa "Do not be afraid Solrisa, I will make you invisible so you can approach the danger safe and give it a surprise boo" and he finishes casting invisibility on the half-elf while touching her on the back.
Can't come up with a better buff at the moment

He abruptly cuts himself off and pivots around when he hears the sound of low rumbling coming from the South.

Tynan arrives near the curtain, only to wacth everyone barrel past him back the way he came. He quickly pivots, and chases back down the corridor, swiftly drawing his short sword. (free action to draw, double move)

I might see what we're fighting someday...

Eri greases the floor before backing up, calling in reinforcements. Ascaria overcomes the magic of the symbol with his own. Mortimer spies something subtle, then moves forward. Solrisa hears the call to arms, moving. Tynan shuttlecocks back to join the archer. Eidi makes the maiden disappear, before she advances any further.

Down the hall, it becomes obvious to all, save the blindish gnome, that a new foe has entered the fray. Armored flesh that glistens in its scales, toothy mouth gaping below reptilian eyes. A large beast, to be sure.

This grand monster is a Hezrou, chaotic evil demon. 1 question for every 5 points above 26...

The scaly beast advances, unaware of the slippery floor awaiting it.

Seeing Sol’s injuries, and concerned about his own, he channels before moving down the hall. (doesn’t get Tynan, but gets everyone else as Ascaria goes before Mort and Sol)

Wretching as the creature closes on him, Tynan still manages to see Mort tumble to the far side of the beast. He quickly eyes the creature's scaly hide, and draws forth his second short sword in the blink of an eye. (swift to study target, free to draw sword) Stepping into a flanking position with Mort, Tynan swings twice to test its defenses.

Observing the difficulties of his companions holding against the wall, Eidi moves down the corridor and lunges with his hand in order to touch Eri delivering a calming touch on him to remove his sickness.

Eri tries to admonish the creature, but fails to find a way through the inherent spell resistance. Ascaria removes all wounds from his associates, visible and invisible alike. Mortimer reinjures himself on an opportunistic claw, before circling around the monster. Solrisa invisibly stalks into the destroyed altar room. Tynan takes two swings, hitting once due to his sickness, though the blade doesn't do as much damage as he might have anticipated. Eidi finds a way over the gnome's head to land a hand on the back of the archer, removing sickness with a touch.

At the front, the large beast sizes up the room, choosing the biggest guy in the yard to drop first.

From the rear, an oozing creature that is familiar to some of you returns! A voice that slurps like wet mud echoes down the hallway. "Good, good, good. Like bones in the spine. Right where I want you."

Another Cone of Cold erupts, rolling over Eidi, Ascaria, Eri, and Solrisa. 11d6 ⇒ (6, 6, 4, 6, 2, 3, 5, 5, 4, 2, 4) = 47 damage, Reflex Save DC 22 for half damage.

I'm saddened to inform you all that Mortimer was not, in fact, injured by the creature's attempted AoO. AC 31, and all. The giant's currently down only 33 hp, grappled, ground between irregularly-sharp teeth, which are bettering in oral health due to Mort-the-Marrowed chew-toy.

Eri remains standing, against a cold that could have dropped him in a single blast. Ascaria almost falls, channeling for all to lessen the damage. Mortimer tries to do some damage while chomped upon. Only his shirt seems to irritate the beast. Seems to resist most of the fire damage. Solrisa moves down the corridor invisibly, though not inaudibly. Tynan tries to get the hezrou's attention, but the sickness in his gut prevents him from hitting. Eidi raises a ringed finger, bringing preternatural speed to all of the Artists and Outcasts.

Eidi:

Yes, you recognize the creature properly, but not much else comes to mind about its offense/defense aspects. You've now seen DR and SR, and now Fire Resistance, with Mort's Shirt of Immolation.

The many-eyed creature seems to sense something moving down the hallway at it, so it retreats down the hallway from whence it came.

The hezrou continues to savage the giant, only after releasing him from his jaws.

Quickly running out of combat resources Eidi uses his calming touch and holding the charge he advances just next to the demon threatened area and shouts menacingly in Abyssal "You beast! Come back to the pit you came from!"

But he just releases his calming touch on Tynan removing his sickness at a distance thanks to the half-elf lunging long arm.

AC 18 until end of turn

Haste lasts for 8 rounds. My wizard casting level is 8 thanks to magical knack trait. Cleric is 6 :P

Eri begins an assault on the hezrou from afar, though his conservative marksmanship prevents any direct hits. Ascaria heals again, quickly, then brings Cayden's strength in the form of prayer. The hezrou roars, as something in the gnome's words trouble it. Mortimer reengages the hezrou from a different, less slobbery, angle, but finds himself unable to connect even once. Solrisa remains vigilant for the many-eyed, no-horned, oozing purple people freezer to return. Tynan speedily strikes out three times, hitting twice! Eidi immediately after wisely maneuvers to avoid the hezrou's massive reach, to free the dagger man of his sickness.

The strange blobby creature fails to return, leaving the maiden to her own devices.

The hezrou unleashes a multicolored explosion of richocheting energy. The damaging power doesn't seem to affect Eri in the least, but Tynan, Mortimer, Eidi, and Ascaria are punished in this new fashion. 5d8 ⇒ (4, 1, 4, 8, 5) = 22 damage, and you are are no longer Hasted, for 1d6 ⇒ 2 rounds. Will Save DC 18 for half damage, and no Slowing effect.

Yes, Ascaria and Tynan, you interpret the Chaos-neutral aspect correctly. Ascaria, you take half-damage for having failed your save.

Eri tries and fails to injure the creature with acid. Ascaria heals yet again. Mortimer finds limited success, hitting the creature once, and doing little damage due to the creature's nature. Solrisa continues to stand guard in the hallway. Tynan sees all four of his blade blows land! Eidi slows to normal speed, still giving himself the courage to reach out and land a hand on the giant, removing sickness again.

The many-eyed creature doesn't return from down the hallway.

Predictably, the hezrou turns its reptilian eyes on the bloke with the blades. It seems to consider grabbing Tynan, but the number of opponents in the room discourages it from doing so.
